But I'm glad you posted this because you have inadvertently made a great point.
This is exactly why Pebble is such a great asset. It's in a first world nation that follows the rule of law. And will be developed under federal and state scrutiny with transparency and oversight, leading to longevity. So thank you.
Irrelevant. This kind of stuff happens all the time to international companies dealing with both corrupt foreign governments and the revolving door of their own corporate culture.
i.e. Former executives who embezzled or bribed or bent the rules and ran with the cash.
That's a valid point, and a viable possibility. I really can't argue that. It does appear that some of these "geology geeks" in management and on the board, seem to know the mining business pretty thoroughly though, but you may be right.
I of course am betting they prevail, but of course... I may be painfully wrong. We'll see.

I only waste my time doing this because I feel it is important that the management of Northern Dynasty understand the lows that the opposition will stoop to. And how motivated they are. I myself frankly, am quite appalled.
I have once again had a few spare moments on my hands, so I picked through some of the comments on the public docket for the EPA withdrawl site.
It only took me a few moments to stumble across letters, and attached PDFs, which were form letters reused, or cut and pasted. There is an obvious, thorough, spamming effort going on by the environmentalists and opposition of this mine.
I even observed several form letters which used the same body text, but had different names and addresses attached to them. Some of them appeared to be individually "personalized "as if it was actually from a real person. But clearly multiple people are claiming to be the same hydrologist or scientist who did the same study or worked for the fishing game department in the same capacity. And using the exact same letter!!
There's obviously a campaign at hand here. He shadowy one at that.
Well, that is a bummer. No other way to spin that.
But all it really means is they now have a green light to put it on as a ballot measure and get the public vote, or not. Time will have to tell on this one, but bummer...
God, I LOVE this guy.
Thank you for posting. That's every reason I come to this board. Good job!
Thank you. It's nice to get some positive feedback for a change.
My prediction: Teck Resources in partnership with Barrick Gold acquire the PLP, in either an outright purchase, or by taking controlling interest of the stock.
GLTA!!
This article is completely absurd, toxic, misleading, and factually incorrect. This article completely is designed to incite environmentalists to rage and action. It is a perfect example of the biased media against the pebble project. This article clearly attempts in it's misleading information, to imply that Pruitt withdrew this out of the clear blue sky. That is factually incorrect. It ignores the facts, yes facts. The facts are the EPA had the overwhelming knowledge that they were going to lose a court case. A FEDERAL JUDGE had sided with pebble and granted an injunction stopping the EPA from moving forward and continuing there actions months earlier. The EPA had backed down and entered into mediation with pebble. This article ignores all of that. Pruitt was just meeting with pebble to come up to speed on what is happening. Yet this article's purpose is clearly to make it sound as though something clandestine has happened, something dishonest is afoot at the EPA with their new administrator. This is very deceptive. And very manipulative.
Yeah, the TBD matters to be discussed is odd. Hopefully as the day draws near there will be some clarity.
I hope they bring this to resolution, and do not extend it for another six months.
Cool, thanks. Great info BTW, really appreciate your DD.
Great info. Thanks!
Well, one definite big hold up of that I am aware of is the port authority of Puerto Rico. I do not know if that will be worse after the hurricane? They keep getting granted extensions in six month blocks. I believe the last extension was until December or January coming up. But it has been getting extended quite often.
I would classify that one as legitimate.
Other than that I agree with your previous post.
That was my understanding too.
You're not alone in that dream!!

I read the CNN piece that this seeking Alpha article is responding to. The piece is very biased it just came out today. It's all misleading information, really misstated stuff. It's almost laughable. Clearly a hit piece.

$16.50 within three trading days after announcement.
Amen to that!!
Nice work.
We're at .74 per share now, right? Is my memory correct?
We would need an accurate update on the remaining share account for the DCR. I haven't seen any recent updates while on what that is.
Yeah it's really heartbreaking, grotesque even, to see how they can manipulate the court system. This is why our judicial system is so overburdened, and underfunded. This is just ridiculous. How they can milk the system.
I've been perusing some of these posts, and it is clearly obvious that many of them are cut and paste. They are using the same language over and over again and I guess the EPA is not screening them out. Probably because they're overwhelmed by the numbers. It's clearly an attack by the opposition.
Bias alert! Well this is incredible. As I mentioned in an earlier post clearly there is a large group of people spamming the EPA website. Several weeks ago there was over (just) 7000 comments, now there are over 185,000 .....and growing!!
That's not even possible! Clearly there is an effort to accelerate spamming to the EPA comments website. I can't believe it, that number is just unbelievable to me

Great post. Thanks for that!
Well first off it's not a typo, it's a scheduled court case for a future date. Nothing more. BTW there's been 100's of them.
This has absolutely no indication of having anything to do with a DCR distribution. I don't understand why in the world anybody would jump to that conclusion. My guess is it's the Port Authority of Puerto Rico or something like that, since it's scheduled so far out.
Or any other of several remaining outstanding cases.
I don't know how you arrived at the seeming conclusion that this scheduled court date has anything to do with the DCR distribution?
I agree. And I want to say for the record that it's pretty gutsy, or maybe risky, for a CEO to come right out and tell everyone that they were involved in take over or merger talks.
Although I guess per the letter of the law that is the correct way to do it, because then it was publicly disclosed. But he was very clear in his wording that these were rough, estimated time frames. Not hard and fast rules of law.
So as the timeframe nears, I for one appreciate him updating us. I don't think any of this should bring the quality of his word into question. He is the CEO of a speculative mining company BTW, let's not forget that. They make their money selling stock in mines, some of which don't even exist yet! It doesn't get much riskier than that!
If anyone forgets that fact, they have no business investing in this stock frankly.
I don't understand all the negativity. The CEO of the company is keeping us abreast of negotiations. That's what half of you were asking for all along.
But now that he does it, everyone is saying sell, sell, sell! I don't get it.
See this is what I'm talking about. This is a case that I didn't even know was still pending, and here is a withdrawal for it.

So I guess that's something good, but it that makes me wonder, geez, how many of the suckers are still hanging out there?
That may just be an insurance policy in a particular options strategy. It may not be indicative of anything at all. But I guess we'll find out right?
Here's hoping you're right!
Agreed.
GLTA
I agree with you here also. But remember he is not in the drivers seat on this.
He is going out and trying to find several multi billion dollar companies that can finance his aspirations, because he cannot. It will take as long as it takes, with the larger parent companies steering it as they hash through the details.
Believe me I hope he is accurate as much as anyone else on this board
Good point. It's probably wise to not even use speculative language like that. The EPA withdrawl (proposed) includes a timeframe, and that really is the only hard and fast time frame the parties have to abide by here.
So it will be better to refrain from speculative language like "next month" or "by the end of the quarter 3" when it's really all just opinion based. Thank you for pointing that out.
I think we should look at the September 30 suggested deadline as nothing more than a mere suggestion.
I think it is optimistic thinking on behalf of the Board of Directors and the CEO, which is fine. But it's not a hard and fast number. It is very likely that we will experience a slight downturn if that date is passed and no partnership is announced, which I actually doubt one will be with in that timeframe.
Partnerships or buyouts on this level are vastly complicated. Deadlines could easily be extended by weeks and months and it would mean nothing in the grand scheme of things. But the stock market will react being the emotional beast that it is.
I'm actually thinking we shouldn't hear anything until the end of this year or early next year. And I would be fine with that.
Well this is very interesting.
I have a little time on my hands today, and I've been reading some of the comments on the EPA website. I have found an example of the same post being reposted "Word for Word" 10x times over and counting!
The opposition is clearly motivated and they're copying and pasting the same negative post over and over again. it's verbatim wording, clearly reposted unscrupulously, and posted as "anonymous".
Very interesting! And very telling.
You Rock!!
C'mon everybody! Follow this awesome example of investor activism, and give a hand in steering the course of one of your investments.
An investment BTW that could be one of the biggest paydays in your portfolio, but is far from a sure thing. Counter the misinformed and fanatical with an appeal to reason at the EPA. Say something positive about Pebble and move this sucker forward!!

Deadline Oct 17th 2017!
Brilliant.
Now why don't you take 90 seconds of your time and post this on the EPA site.
https://www.regulations.gov/document?D=EPA-R10-OW-2017-0369-0001
True, but all things beyond our control.
What we can do however, is take a page from the bill Ackerman book of activist investing and appeal to the EPA. That's a great start.
If you don't comment, you've got no one to blame but yourself if they backtrack.
