I think the main thing that helps me cope is to me each failure begins a new slate. I invested in 3D. It failed clean slate New Wheel came along, failed clean slate Embarg/Cupria came along, delays and dilution happened, but it is still alive but my investment was lost on previous investment decisions so what shares I have are like the Phoenix rising from the ashes.
Therefore history is only a lesson to build on.
In comparison to this one my other main investment this has been a resounding success. A $70,000 investment and a 1/3 ownership in the corporation with my wife and I on the BOD eventually was stolen and cheated down to 8 shares of a shell I traded for 3000 more Rim shares. That was one failure that never even tried to grow out of the ashes.

It seams that this board is almost intirely worthless. If there is a PR there is some discussion pro and con that is usefull. There is a little cheerleading, but it can't compete with the onslaught of 10, 15, and 20 posts a day from each of a few who think they are the saviors of the board for new investors. Few really are others centered. they are primarily venting there own anger.
Even if some of what they say is true. ( that there has been some deceit, bad management, excessive salaries, etc) IT would seam they are rooting for the longs to loose their investment.
It would appear from recent developements that an actual salable product is nearly at hand. It is just not credible to assume all the statement from companies alligned with Rim are false. It would seam that some think if we who have held for so long actually get to sell at a profit we are endorsing and profiting from wrong doing.
So, I guess if we throw our shares away in protest we are vindicating ourselves. Is this somehow hurting management! Bill says he will not sell his shares even if they are successfull and SP rises ( I don't get it. If he is down $200,000 and he can get 25-50% of his money back he still has plenty of loss right off). I don't see how this hurts the company. I'm fine with this. If we could get the holders of a few million shares to throw them away we would have a little less dilution.
Nice close for the week.
Ernie
I wish the naysayers could come up with a post that contains all their historical redundancy. Then they could repost it everyday to warn all potential investors without clogging up this board with 100 posts that say the same thing.
It could start out with Rim is a 100% scam whose only purpose is to print stock in order to pay there excessive salaries. There is no product and anyone or any company that says there is either so stupid that they can't tell, or liars helping to promote Rims scam.
Groove, I for one appreciate interesting articles that explain how huge, and urgent the market is for related tehnologies in the triple play arena is. This is Rims target.
ZZT apparently thinks only articles about scams and technology that would compete are relevant. So, blurbs about how FTTH or wireless will eliminate the need for copper would probably be ok with him.
Ernie
Anything having to do with telcos needs and policies has to do with Rim and investors want to know. Who made you board monitor.
In the case of eSilicon the following quote shows wether they know or care.
"Rim Semi's innovative broadband technology, which increases the capacity of existing telephone networks, will provide the telecommunications market with a state-of-the-art solution for high-speed data applications," said Jack Harding, chairman, president and CEO of eSilicon Corporation. "We are very excited about Rim Semi's market opportunity and are pleased to become an equity partner."
In the case of TSMC we don't have a quote from the company, but Excel I would love for you to release your PR. I think the results would be extremely funny and well deserved.
Happy New Year
As long as we're down some I picked up somemore.
I know, I know! I could have waited and picked up buckets of the stuff for practically nothing. Blah blah blah
Ernie
I would like to see more accountabilty for internet posters. This could apply to both positive and negative statements, but of course I am thinking more of the bashing statements. You almost never see IMO or IMHO anymore which used to be the standard. I am primarily concerned by statements that state as fact things like this is 100% an absolute scam.
Or
That was before I found this was a scam. (as opposed to before I decided that this was a scam) as if it was discovered that on page 3 paragraph 4 of some document it states this is a scam.
There are no qualifyers by these possesors of all knowledge. In order to be a 100% scam there had to have never been a product, no hope of developing the intended product. As long as there was an apparently viable product and attempts were being made to perfect and market it, all allegations against management have to do with management mistakes, delays, cost overruns. I can see how critics can easily attack these issues. However, to say it is 100% scams makes mangement out and out crooks. Blanket statements like these just rub me the wrong way. As has been said many times if the posters have facts to justify these charges they should be presented to the authorities.
If this product is marketed successfully it will prove all these posters to be be liars or perhaps just idiots. However, even if not successfull that doesn't prove scam. Was Sony Beta a scam?
So, I am saying everybody has a right to their opinion and to share those opinions. Everyone has a right to be critical of management, however, calling people out and out crooks should be subject to penalties unless it can be proven.
The negative posts are feeling more like reading a comic book. There hardly even bothersome anymore. The hypothesis that so many companies will lie to support Rims scam is beyond rediculous.

The other day Faithkeeper posted this link with some notable quotes from AT&T. didn't see any further discussion on this. Where is AT&T getting on average 25mbs and is some locations more over copper. Nobody but Rim is claiming those numbers and certainly not for any distance. Most have been reporting numbers at best 5 with 3 more the norm for any DSL variations.
"Our view at this point is that we're not going to have go 'fiber to the home.' We're pleased with the bandwidth that we're seeing over copper," Chief Financial Officer Richard Lindner told a Credit Suisse conference.
"On average, at this point, we're producing about 25 megabits (per second). But in many many locations, we're producing substantially more than that."
Funny I see significant qualifyers in both those statements.
I'd say were holding up nicely considering year end selling and conversion presures.
Ernie
They argue it both ways. Embarg PR was phony, it was just to be able to use Rim's tm on the Embarg name. Now the change in name from Embarg to Cupria was a total change in technology (apparently when you change from one non-existant technology to another you have to rename it.)
They didn't like the New Visual name because of it's link to movies yet condemn changing the name as a sign of a scam. Personally I'll stick to statements from people and companies that have the ability to know what is going on instead of just opinions.
i.e. from Buy_Low this am;RSMI Quotable Quotes and information...
From eSilicon Corporation...
From Telcordia...
"I was impressed with the scope of Rim Semi's Embarq(TM) solution," said Dr. Kenneth Kerpez, senior scientist at Telcordia. "We found that their technology offers multiple fields of innovation, offering significant improvement in both the amount and quality of bandwidth that can be carried over copper. Due to these breakthrough performance gains, telcos now have a cost-effective way to meet their business goals including deployment of triple play broadband services."
From Telcordia...
"Rim Semiconductor has developed a new and very different very-high-speed DSL that achieves higher bit rates than VDSL2 on both short and long loops," says Dr. Kenneth J. Kerpez, senior scientist, Applied Research, Telcordia Technologies. "Carriers now have a powerful tool to offer a full range of services. The technology from Rim Semiconductor also has unique capabilities for carriers, including efficient modulation technology for higher speed transmission, and an on-the-fly adaptive equalization to limit noise that can cause service disruption on a line carrying IPTV signals."
From Extreme Copper...
"With its focus on innovating copper-based broadband solutions, Rim Semiconductor has advanced the DSL market," says Robert V. Nino, president and CEO of Extreme Copper. "The new products will be the highest performing xDSL solution available. By incorporating Rim Semi's new technology, we will have a better performing solution than equipment currently on the market -- and we can better meet the performance requirements of our customers."
From Dr. Tan...
"Rim Semiconductor is focused on solving the most important problem in telecommunications today," explained Dr. Tan. "Carriers are struggling with the demand for faster Internet access speeds and higher quality over longer distances, and Rim Semi's technology holds the promise of realizing their business goals. With the rapid growth of the broadband industry in the Asia-Pac countries such as Korea, Japan and China, the next few years will be very exciting and challenging for Rim Semi, and I am delighted to assist them in their growth."
From Hellosoft...
"HelloSoft has long been recognized as the leader in VOIP software," stated Rama Sreeramaneni, vice president and general manager of HelloSoft. "This is the first time that our software suite has migrated into a DSL transport processor, so the E30 is a 'world-first.' We believe that market demand for processor-based VOIP will be very high."
From Asiakey...
"Asiakey has contributed to the success of many startup companies that went IPO or were acquired." Paul Lin, Director of Asiakey Technology. "Based on our conversations with our existing customers, we believe Rim Semiconductor's Embarq(TM) product line is superior to the competition and will have tremendous success in our market place."
From Embarq...
"Embarq is investigating multiple technologies in support of future wireline multimedia services," explained Steve Carter, Director of Network Services for Embarq. "This initiative with Rim Semi will help to determine if Embarq can leverage a new technology to give our customers new services across our wireline network."
Ernie
Goldy, just for argument sake let's assume that Brad did predict revenue. Extreme Copper didn't make it because they apparently didn't put any money up front. Calling Brad a liar because of a missed prediction would seam a little extreme.
If a weather man predicts rain but it only threatens do you call him a liar too?
Remember, to those who forgive much, much will be forgiven, to those who forgive little little will be forgiven,
This not only works for God it works with Karma too.
I wouldn't venture to call Brad a liar unless he guaranteed revenue. Which is way more than expecting revenue. Since we can't absolutely say what was said for sure your judgement seams a bit harsh.
I know several here who predicted we'd be at pennies and below by now, are they liars? I know some here have predicted higher sp are they liars?
Ernie
Great post Buy low. Good summary of statements other than in house.
Ernie
I don't rattle easily with all the shaking going on. I also don't think that company presidents sign off on PRs associating them with small OTC companies without a thorough look. These people have a lot more at stake then our resident soothsayers (I mean naysayers) who can devine the truth without the benefit of NDA and actually examining the product they are associating themselves with.
As for Ray, sure I have only had a few face to face meeetings and phone calls with him, but I have had good results so far judging peoples character and I tend to believe the best until proven otherwise. It's interesting that even with that, I stand on the positive side of this investment with some left to hopefully gain some more.
Companies willing to associate themselves with us and take shares in trade are a very positive sign.
Ernie
I'll stick my neck out some more for the Ray and Rim haters. Ray is the spark plug of the Rim machine. Without his positive force the company would have folded years ago. Now I know many of you think that would have been a good thing. However, no dream would ever come true without a relentless believer. Whenever things were down you could always count on Ray to give you the most positive view possible. (Ray said this to me once himself. I called and told him I was down and needed my spirits raised. He said, "You will always get that here.") Now some of you call that lying. I don't because I feel He always believed in the most positive outlook possible. Even though he was not a tech when this started, he found people and inspired them to work on this.
He worked for years without compensation and invested his own money mortgaging his house to keep the company going. Most think his salary considering the lack of revenue is way too much. I kind of balance it out and say he isn't making half that considering the prior years.
Assuming the truth out of Hello soft, Telcordia, eSilicon etc the tech was and is there. The profitability will be seen later. It could fail, or be stolen, bought out who knows.
Many have been hurt, paid too much, sold for too little, not been able to hold because it took so long etc. How much easier it is to point at someone else to blame, but remember when you point a finger at someone else there are 4 pointing back at you
Ernie
Very good to hear from you Ben!
Ernie
The whole argument between the two main camps hinges on whether there is or ever has been a viable tech. If there is then whether it becomes profitable is a seperate issue. The camp of those accusing management of being lying scammers says that everything they have done or said has been a lie because they have nothing and it is all a scam. Now that we have been getting statements from other people and companies, perpetuating that position requires that all who say anything positive about the tech are either stupid and being duped or are part of the scam. Now we either have to believe people who have exammined the tech or those who never have.
Aside from the issue of whether there is a tech there are all the judgements about the delays and cost. Delays, costs, poor financing etc. are completely seperate issues from whether they have and have been developing a technology or not. Again we have very little inside info as to when and how things could have been done better. (lots of opinions, but no inside real knowledge)
So, to me all this bickering has to be settled after it is determined if the tech is being developed or not. As much as it pains me to say the financial success considering all the shares outstanding is a risky guess. I believe with the current share price there is still money to be made. Those who bought at much higher prices are still in a doubtful position.
I'm still holding, but my remaining shares are free to me so not too much gamble there.
Ernie
It occurs to me that if I were in Brad's position I might stop even caring about releasing any press other than what is legally required. We hear from the critics that they haven't done this or that. Then when this and that are done every word is critiqued with the assuption that it is all a Lie. Then the business partners are called and harrased to no end trying to get more detail. Then they are accused of being lying scammers.
Under these conditions why release anything you don't have to, and who would want to partner up with us.
I would say the naysayers are doing a great deal to further their position.
I can see it now; they include a few details like the first order will be 1 million units in 90 days at $30 ea. Then we hear, watch they're not going to make it. The stupid idots should have held out for $35. Then if they reach 999,999 they are lying failures because they said 1 million.
Ernie
Bill, I wasn't talking about you, Greg, or even Beech. I know all of you and your reasons. I am talking about posters who are aliases only and are so free with their accusations. I as well as Pengy, Porscha, Poorboy etc have all been accused of being liars, and it was said we were somehow profiting off posting supporting the company. All these free wheeling accuasations and charges makes their judgement calls as to what are lies etc very suspect.
Take the latest PR. While it is great that Rim has selected a large facility for the production I can already see the criticisms and accusations coming. Since the president of the corporation doesn't have a statement in there it becomes just a statement by Rim. Since it doesn't have a number of units to be produced by a certain date it will mean nothing to you and the other naysayers. However, even if there had been a quote from TCMC that would have only joined the list of the other statements by company leader and industry experts that are either duped, or lieing for Rim (according to the critics)
Ernie
One thing that is hard to buy about our most relentless naysayers is that they are so devoted to Rim. Click on their alias how many out of the 10s of thousands of struggling non-profitable OTC companies out there are they trying save investors from.
Is Rim the only company out there that doesn't have any revenue? Is it the only company out there whose management has failed to meet a deadline, or spun some issues? I don't think so, but these saviors of ours are totally devoted to Rim.
I can buy someone who invested and lost being vengeful. After all they weren't dumb enough to invest in an obvious scam so they must have been scammed by some pros.
It is much easier to put all the blame on the other side.
Ernie
Fine don't invest until there are profits. Quite reasonable. However, to say that the tech doesn't exist until there are profits and anyone who says it does is a liar is rediculous.
Ernie
I saw that it was posted the other day to not use anything released by the company as DD even press releases. So, if anyone or any company signs off on a release with Rim that makes it a lie.
(So a detective at the scene of the murder says don't take any statements from anyone here who claims to be a witness because some of these people have lied to me before)
Don't accept any statement from anyone who could have seen or examined the tech. Accept my statements although I never had a chance to see the tech.
I have also seen any poster here who has ever supported this company labeled as a pawn of the company, taking payola ect.
Pretty one sided attitude, Ernie
That's big of you Goldie not to fault Gary, and Cobra. One of the big things I have against aliases posts is they have nothing invested of themselves in what they say. They can say what ever they want if they are ever proved wrong there is no one to face.
I have been with this company longer than anyone and my feeling run with Gary's. I'm not saying costly mistakes and delays haven't been made but I've never doubted Ray's intentions. I don't know Brad, but if proven wrong I will forever be the person who made those judgements. This is because my profile clearly states who I am and many people know me.
Aliases with no profile and no personal contacts don't have that filter to run their posts through. I qualify those aliases who someone knows because I have seen profiles that were completely fictitious too.
Ernie
RE:Price holding, for now, on a significantly reduced and falling volume..
Doesn't look like it to me. Volume and price have been increasing at a time when year end selling is expected.
Ernie
When you have a goal to accomplish the time and delays of the past only serve as course corrections and lessons. The accomplishment is still ahead of you. Focus on the goal and keep striving for it. If you keep focused on the past your stuck with no chance of success.
Ernie
I will barely engage in a discussion with Greg and Bill because it serves no purpose. They're not going to change my mind and I'm not going to change theirs. However, they are real people I know. I understand where they're coming from. The rest of you naysayers don't exist as real people to me. I don't know you or know anyone who does. I don't know as unbelievers why you're here, and I don't think your selfless fighters for right. So since you don't exist except as an alias someone made up, or paid to post, or someother alterior motive, engaging with you serves no usefull purpose. I'd just as soon go have a meaningfull dicussion with a wall.
Ernie
Whenever, someone sees conspirators, liars, and cheats everywhere they look , I know what's in there own heart.
Ernie
At least with Gregs latest contention that Rim has bought off market makers there is no reputation to protect. I doubt there are many who would doubt that a market maker could be bought. However, with the list of people and companies that it has been aledged have been bought by Rim it would have required at minimum 10s of millions of dollars. Now with the dilution I could see how shares could have been hidden bribes. Then again if someone is taking shares to lie they would have to be worth something. So, if your going to take shares to lie and were talking bribes of 10s of millions of dollars were up to bribes involving 100s of millions of shares.
Rim just doesn't have the resources to bribe all these entities to lie and deceive to help them with their scam. That leaves duping as an alternative. That means Rim is able to dupe industry experts, but not our resident soothsayers.
I'm sorry but I just can't buy all the conpiracy theories.
As far as deadlines go, I don't care if Rim meets someones deadline or not as long as they are moving toward that goal. I have seen few goals that didn't take longer than expected. Shucks, there are many days I don't get done what I expected that day much less month long or year long goals.
Ernie
Not too much interest in posting today, except the usual doom and gloom bunch. Price holding fairly well with no news. The stock has survived 3/4 of the share convesrsions, but the doom and gloom bunch thinks the last 21% will grind us down.
Ernie
In all fairness, I would say that when "sales" is spoken "revenue' is heard. However, it doesn't seam that fairness is on the agenda. Fairness says that "if" sales were expected by the end of the year the Extreme Copper deal comes close enough to show that Rim is nearing the expected goal. Some of the posts I have read sound as, if we can technically say that the year end revenue goal wasn't met, then the firing squad will be assembled, and no delay or excuses are acceptable.
To be fair, I as well as most here heard that sales by the end of the year were expected. I as well as apparently everyone else cannot put a date or a quote on exactly what was said by whom, and when.
Without that quote, no penalty, can be levied.
Ernie
As long as we are somehow able to require Brad to live up to things that may have been said, I'd like to say that I heard that revenues in 2006 would be so high that dividends would be paid. LOL
I mean significant dividends.
Ernie
Even if some don't want to acknowledge it. The Extreme Copper pr qualifies as sales. Now I know some are now saying verified revenues are required to fulfill what Brad might have said. I think it's great when the critics can specify if their requirements have been met, at the same time they seam to be the authority on the "excuses" offerred for Rim not yet meeting their criteria as to what may have been said. Now if someone can find the quote for Brad saying there will be sales in 2006, that's one thing, however, I don't remember anyone claiming that what was said was "we will provide proof to our critics that we have revenue from sales in 2006" Even if Rim proved the last those critics would then tack a qualifyer to this of "significant" sales. They would then present themselves as the judge of what constituted "significant". I also don't recall any qualifyer on what Brad "might have said" as to we will deliver the sold product in 2006"
I sure hope we don't have many investigators out there that start with an assumption and only accept evidence that backs their assuption. I.E. Don't log anything about those footprints leaving the scene. We have our guilty party right here, so that is not evidence, it would only confuse our case.
In case you miss my point, It's what Telcordia or any other party or company has to say is irrelevant, because Brad et al are liars therefore anyone that backs them up is a liar.
Ernie
Buy Low, I am not proud when I engage negative posters, but I get fed up with them trying to force their negativity down our throats. They refuse to answer how, why, and for what all the recent companies, and individuals have (by their assertion lied and deceived us) by verifying our tech. Then they try to claim we have to answer their question first. This is to try to say if they can come up with a question we have no way of answering, then their entire conspiracy/scam premis is validated.
We are supposed to believe that somehow they can look at Rim from the outside through a frosted window and know more than industry experts who are on the inside.
I don't have to do anything. Rim will continue their current path toward commercialization or they won't.
I am still waiting and holding with more and more confidence.
Ernie
I know Bill, the defunct company called Telcordia tested vaporware, tested apples to oranges because they don't know what they're doing. Extreme copper agreed to buy a non-existant product,or agreed to lie for Rim.
Everyone is in on this scam with Rim, because they are going to benefit how? Rim doesn't have money to bribe people to bet their reputations to the extent they can lose all they have or go to prison.
If Rim doesn't have a product then the lies here are bigger than Enron. If they don't have a product that performs sufficently to back up their public claims many are betting their lives on getting away with public written blatten lies.
Either that or you and your cohorts are full of it!
I know which way I'm betting, but
Either way it's back to the serenity of "ignore"
Ernie
