November 06, 2017, The USPS will choose models from the prototypes to replace up to 180,000 mail trucks over the course of seven years, an estimated $6.3 billion of business. The post office’s current fleet is aging. Of the 215,000 mail trucks in operation, 140,000 are at least two decades old.
Five contenders are participating in the competition, which the USPS has named the Next Generation Delivery Vehicle, or NGDV, program. They include two team entries: VT Hackney/Workhorse Group and Karsan/Morgan Olson. The three additional companies are AM General, Oshkosh and Mahindra.
The postal service said the winner of the vehicle contract will be announced in early 2018.

02/22/18 UPS (NYSE:UPS) today announced it plans to deploy 50 plug-in electric delivery trucks that will be comparable in acquisition cost to conventional-fueled trucks without any subsidies – an industry first that is breaking a key barrier to large scale fleet adoption. The company is collaborating with Workhorse Group, Inc. (NASDAQ:WKHS) to design the vehicles from the ground up, with zero tailpipe emissions.

Ohio Governor Mike DeWine expressed caution.
"This is a step, but we have a long way to go," DeWine told reporters. He also cited Workhorse's ongoing efforts to win a truck supply contract with the U.S. Postal Service as a key step.
It likely would take at least a year before the plant, which halted production in March, could reopen after a deal was reached, Ohio's governor, DeWine, said.
"This potential agreement ... will help solidify the leadership of Workhorse's role in the EV community," Workhorse CEO Duane Hughes said in the GM statement, referring to electric vehicles.

...Cowen also said Trump's comments raised speculation that "Workhorse is likely to be a vendor for the US Postal Service program."
...Workhorse told CNBC it was one of the finalists being considered for the postal service contract but would not comment further.

(NASDAQ: WKHS) and an affiliated, newly formed entity to sell the company's Lordstown Complex in Lordstown, Ohio. The move has the potential to bring significant production and electric vehicle assembly jobs to the plant. Upon final agreement, the entity, led by Workhorse founder Steve Burns, would acquire the facility. Workhorse would hold a minority interest in the new entity.
Burns added, "The first vehicle we would plan to build if we were to purchase the Lordstown Complex would be a commercial electric pickup, blending Workhorse's technology with Lordstown's manufacturing expertise."

LORDSTOWN — State Sen. Michael Rulli said he was informed by General Motors today that the company is on board with selling the Lordstown plant to Workhorse, but that “last piece of the puzzle” was approval by the United Auto Workers union.
The possible sale could “potentially be thousands of jobs” at the idled facility, said Rulli of Salem, R-33rd.
“I’m very, very excited,” he said. “We’re going to do everything we can to help the UAW and the company work out the details and make sure we don’t get any snags.”
Rulli said the GM government liaison he spoke to didn’t have a lot of details, “but it looks extremely promising.”
Dave Green, UAW Local 1112 president, couldn't immediately be reached for comment.
Meanwhile, U.S. Sen. Rob Portman, a Cincinnati Republican, tweeted: “Optimistic about the news today for the #Lordstown community. I’ve worked with Workhorse and look forward to further developments and news from @GM. #Ohio,” and “I want to thank @realDonaldTrump for his help in bringing new production to #Lordstown. I’m hopeful we will see the #Lordstown plant humming again. #jobs #Ohio”

President Trump said General Motors Co. will sell its shuttered assembly plant in Lordstown, Ohio, to an electric-truck maker and praised the auto maker for creating jobs in the politically pivotal state.
In a series of tweets on Wednesday, Mr. Trump said he was informed of the deal during a conversation with GM Chief Executive Mary Barra.
GM has a tentative agreement to sell the factory to Cincinnati-based Workhorse Group Inc., which builds and sells electric trucks and aircraft, a person familiar with the matter said.
"Just spoke to Mary Barra, CEO of General Motors, who informed me that, subject to a UAW agreement etc., GM will be selling their beautiful Lordstown Plant to Workhorse, where they plan to build Electric Trucks," Mr. Trump tweeted Wednesday.
A GM spokesman said the company would provide a statement related to Ohio later Wednesday. A representative for Workhorse didn't immediately respond to a request for comment.
Mr. Trump also said Ms. Barra has committed to spending $700 million in Ohio at three separate locations, creating 450 jobs. The time frame for that investment is unclear.
GM plans to spend that amount across a factory in Toledo that makes transmissions, a diesel-engine plant near Dayton and a stamping facility in suburban Cleveland, a separate person familiar with the matter said. The time frame for the investment couldn't be learned.
"I have been working nicely with GM to get this done," Mr. Trump tweeted.
Mr. Trump criticized GM for its announcement in November that it would end production at its Lordstown factory and several other U.S. plants, putting more than 6,000 jobs in jeopardy.
GM said last week that it has open positions for all the workers affected by those moves, though many would have to relocate.

Since last November, GM has been in discussions with the UAW regarding the impact of changing market conditions on the Lordstown facility. These discussions will include this opportunity.
"We remain committed to growing manufacturing jobs in the U.S., including in Ohio, and we see this development as a potential win-win for everyone," said Mary Barra, GM chairman and CEO. "Workhorse has innovative technologies that could help preserve Lordstown's more than 50-year tradition of vehicle assembly work."
Upon final agreement with all parties, work could begin immediately to prepare the facility for new production.

I tell you what, I sold my car on ebay and got 7k for it 6 years ago and put that on RSHN. I saw my RSHN climb 200k. I sold 20k last June. I am down to 22m presently. That 25k I spread out over other pennies. 2.3k went to 120k. I dumped at .015 Last month I bought a 27k car.
As for RS, I don't think that will happen. RSHN is forming into multi businesses joining forces. This volume we are seeing is most likely buy ins. Once product rolls out, and their are 25 plus, Millionaires will come in. I see the idea over at APRU.
Oh, I believe now. it can happen. I got my car back, finally.
