I see that first 4 internet will be there.....not us though ;(
Does anyone have verification that KOCH has used us on any CD in the last 6 mos. I have seen a few releases in the store from KOCH and I have not seen any evidence of MMAX on the label. Any help would be appreciated.
royksopp = EMI
Anyone have any thoughts about this part of the PR. Code for something? I remember a post a few weeks back that someone said there would be some "killer" news out soon.
"Expect more embedded "killer" applications incorporated on the audio CD coupled with our planned rollout to Europe and Asia expected to begin this summer."
"The short-term goal is to distribute 60 million CDs in North America and a total of 600 million units world-wide over the next 3 years generating a royalty of 4 to 6 cents per unit depending on volume. "
Lets remember, this is just a GOAL, not a guarrantee. While this is encouraging, I'll beleive it when I see it.
XXX: State of the Union CD is protected with mediamax. I picked up a copy today, nice mediamx features: since it is a compliation of many artists, there are little ads promoting the upcoming CD releases for the artists on the disc....a nice feature.
Another interesting thing is that I also picked up a copy of Velvet Revolver dual disc, which is not protected (audio side) with any copy protection. It is interesting that the CD cover also states that "the audio side of this disc does not conform to CD specifications and therefore, not all DVD and CD players will play the audio side of the disc". I really don't know what to make of this? Any thoughts.
God I hope that we are saving some good news for the meeting. It is a little scary out there right now, in the cold black vacuum of information.
I dont' know about the rest of you, but the main news I really care about is that more CD's are being added at an increasing pace. If the music industry trusts us, than I feel confident, but as soon as I feel they are backing out, I am out. I do think the management is absolutely horrible and my ultimate hope is that we get bought out by a company who actually knows how to act like a company. I think this ma happen, if we continue to experiece exponential growth.
Nice! Exposure on Stern is a great thing. I expect BMG/SONY like it too, as it is probably a nice addition to their rumored campaign for MediaMAx acceptance. Lets hope this all works out - what a bizarre ride it is
Are we assuming that Howard Stern's comments will be in the form of a Sunncomm paid commercial/advertisement/advertising campaign? Is this what the sunngramm means?
Anyone know what is up with KOCH records. I have seen a few of their releases out and NO Mediamax. It appears all of our eggs are in One (albeit potentially large) basket?
Thanks Alex;) ... could that be our friend Alex Halderman? Just a thought
Thank you for your response Bob, I appreciate it.
Hi Everyone, I know that many have said that F4I is dead in the water, but I have been trying to figure out why Sony-BMG would mention that they continue to plan use it on upcoming releases? Many have said it "blew up" their (sony)computers...I would think this would deter its use. It just doesn't make sense to me and worries me that we may have some serious competition....can anyone make sense of this for me. TIA

Actually just read on the support site that importing to itunes/ipod on a mac will most likely work fine, but importing songs to ipod on a PC won't work. It wasn't totallyclear, but this might explain why some people appear to be able to use ipod and some can't. Hope this helps
I did the IPOD thing on the Kings Of Leon album this morning (on a mac) and it imported directly to my itunes without a problem. I haven't downloaded it to my ipod, as my wife has it. But it should work just fine. There are a bunck of people whining on amazon that this doesn't work, but there is no problem in my expereince. Probably just a bunch of RB folks who have decided to bash on amazon. Let me know if anyone else has done this and had any problems.

Recent Release "Kings of Leon" is MediaMax protected. I saw it today at Best Buy. Not sure how new, but it was in the new release rack with a big fat sunncomm sticker on it.
Only a guess, but I would think that SCMI would want to distribute QTIG shares before the open house, or at least put out some PR about distribution, to avoid the deluge of "where the hell are my dividends" that is sure to ensue. Does anyone have any clarity on this? TIA

Thanks amx...leave it to the kids to know what is going on! Maybe we should have them on this board :) Thanks again for the follow-up. Looking forward to some good news in the future. Best of luck
Cautiously,

AMX - I can't access napster b/c I have a mac. Only works on PC ,so I can't try it out. I am surprised though that they do not mention ipod compatibility on thier site or on any articles on the web if this is indeed the case. As I read it, they are NOT ipod compatible as of yet.
Great!- thanks amx, I'll give it a try and watch for it on TV
AMX - according to napster's site, your information is incorrect. They say Apple continues to have the door closed. If you have different information please let us know. TIA
"Apple has chosen to keep both iPod and iTunes closed off from Napster and every other music service. Napster's philosophy is different. A Napster subscription gives you more ways to listen on more players for less money.'
Thanks Sahd3g, wouldn't that be nice to get the "Stern effect" ala Sirius
What is this "Stern" business all about???? I would love to hear how all of this got started. TIA
Agreed.... LOL
Peter has stated many things in the past 2 weeks.
-projections, filing announcements, conference calls, etc. In my view he has a real chance to gain rock solid trust in his shareholders if he can finally follow through on what he says in a timely manner. Here is your chance Peter. You set up the pins, now knock em down. We'll be watching and hoping :)
Settle down there Sunny....the only way my "azz" will be fried is if the price drops, like most other LONGS....just havin a little fun....relax
P.S. I could prescribe something for your temperment if you want ;)
Hey, did you all hear that Universal just agreed to sign an agreement that would allow them to potentially enter into an agreement..... good grief!
Should we be seeing 1Q/'05 projections soon? Do you guys think they will materialize this time?
Why exactly do you think so?
AGREED, I want answers to this. I am suddenly very suspect of what I thought was a legitimate forum.
TNEW, with all due respect. SCMI's business hinges on copy management. Their entire premise is that this technology decreases drop offs in sales at the beginning and decreases casual copying. Of course there are added benefits to mediamx (enhancement), but if we are just an 'enhancement' company we are dead in the water. ONLY if we can sell the copy managmement side, will we be successful. I am hopeful, but if we don't see a major signing 'lightning fast'(as peter would say' then I am afraid our future is not-so-hearable.
ANY of those would make me a happy investor. I feel like if its not now, then its never...with all the "lightning quick" talk and "worldwide rollout"....LETS SEE THIS SUBSTANTIATED!!! Come on Peter, bring it.
Just waiting for a revenue PR. Will we get it?
NICE T...thanks again for the effort. ROLL OUT!
Thanks TNEW, that would be great if you can give us a sneak preview of the newly scheduled albums this evening! Good work! - Pray for news
Could not be a better time for some News...if we got it, now is the time to bring it....good luck all!
2 of the proposed 4 PR's - per Bobmn

SunnComm International, Inc. (OTCBB: SCMI), advances its leadership position in digital content security and enhancement for optical media by announcing today that it has designed technology intended to limit the copying of CDs dispensed from self-service kiosks. Kiosks are taking the consumer market by storm. It is expected that the purchase of popular music mixed onto audio CDs could drive more retail customers to self-service kiosks than any other product sold by the self-service machines. Industry experts, IHL Consulting Group, reports that $128 billion was spent by North American consumers in 2003 on all consumer kiosk transactions. IHL Consulting further projects that continued growth from consumer demand will approach $1.3 trillion by 2007.
"Self-service kiosks are popping up everywhere, and the deployment of these systems is expected to grow significantly over the next several years offering a whole new entertainment venue for consumers," says Bill Whitmore, president and chief executive officer of QuietTiger, Inc. (OTCBB: QTIG). QuietTiger is the exclusive sales and marketing arm for SunnComm's technology. He continued, "The integration of the MediaMax technology within the kiosk systems is a significant advancement in preventing music from being copied again and again and again."
Peter Jacobs, CEO of SunnComm International, commented, "The kiosk systems enable customers to access digital content on the spot and to create a custom audio CD just like the one found on store shelves." The MediaMax SecureBurn platform will be utilized to create the custom album and will inhibit the content from unauthorized duplication while providing substantial additional marketing opportunities."
The Perfect Placement(TM) banner advertising feature created by SunnComm will allow retailers to promote themselves directly on the very CD-Rs they are sending home with music buyers. When inserted into a PC or MAC, interactive banners appear throughout the user interface. This sales component is an excellent vehicle for presenting in-store promotions as well as special offers or information. Since the banners are controlled remotely when an Internet connection is available, they can be easily changed from time to time.
"With the introduction of On-the-Fly encoding(TM), SunnComm can shift the process of managing the content on music CDs from the mastering studio, authoring facilities and CD manufacturing plants right into a kiosk," declared SunnComm's CTO, Eric Vandewater. "We are basically compressing many man-hours of mastering, second session authoring, manufacturing and quality control into a single transaction at a dedicated machine that is completed in minutes instead of days."
SunnComm's MediaMax suite of products delivers security for digital CD audio along with an enhanced consumer experience that provides additional bonus content and value-added features available in a user-friendly multi-media session that is mastered directly on the audio CD and accessible using a personal computer. Bonus features include on-board press kits, artist-related promotions, videos, song lyrics, artist bio page, photo gallery, web links and tune-sharing capability through SunnComm's MusicMail(TM) functionality. MusicMail or TuneShare is an interface for the legal authorized sharing of selected song tracks with friends & family for a pre-determined number of days or plays. CD buyers can share music legitimately without illegal file sharing networks and without tying up their email system with huge files. This is a powerful word-of-mouth marketing tool for the record labels. Metrics associated with forwarded MusicMail files are available to SunnComm's record label customers on a 24/7/365 basis.
