Swiss Telecom Leader Sunrise Communications Selects Violin Memory to Accelerate Billing Process -

Billing Times Reduced by More Than 75 Percent with Violin Flash Memory Arrays
Santa Clara, Calif., and London – Jan. 14, 2014 – Violin Memory, Inc. (NYSE: VMEM), a leader in persistent memory-based storage solutions, today announced that Sunrise Communications AG (Sunrise), the largest privately held telecommunications company in Switzerland, has chosen the Violin 6000 Series Flash Memory Array to accelerate the billing process for its nearly three million customers. By deploying the Violin solution, Sunrise reduced processing time for its mission critical billing application by more than 75 percent, streamlining operations and improving customer satisfaction. Sunrise was introduced to Violin Memory by its partner Lake Solutions, a comprehensive IT solutions provider, who guided the implementation.
Sunrise is the only private full service telecommunications provider in Switzerland and offers a wide range of services to business and consumer customers including mobile, landline, internet and IPTV. The Sunrise billing system is a business-critical process with strict time constraints requiring bills to be issued within a 48-hour window. More stringent internal service level requirements set a 24-hour completion goal to allow for potential re-runs. By deploying Violin Flash Memory Arrays, the company has seen processing time drop dramatically – a 76 percent improvement compared to the previous solution based on Fibre Channel disk drives complemented by Solid State Drives (SSD).
“Violin Flash Memory Arrays have proven to be a vast improvement compared to our previous system, which often forced us to bill in arrears,” said Detlef Steinmetz, CIO of Sunrise. “This is no longer the case as we now have a fast, reliable process. Our goal is to get the billing process down to less than one day and I’m confident that with Violin Memory we will be able to achieve this objective quickly and easily.”
Prior to switching to Violin, Sunrise struggled with a storage infrastructure that caused input/output (I/O) starvation and made the billing process unpredictable and unacceptably long. These performance bottlenecks also meant data back-up and critical applications were halted during the bill run, which impacted multiple areas of the business. Like many companies, Sunrise had other mission-critical requirements for its shared storage. Violin did not disrupt the existing environment and provided high reliability and no single point of failure.
“As a national telecommunications enterprise, Sunrise has demanding business requirements for its IT processes, and Violin Flash Memory Arrays have already shown that they can easily exceed them,” added Mick Bradley, managing director of Violin Memory EMEA. “I am thrilled to witness how once again Violin technology has enabled an organization to improve its performance, customer satisfaction, and bottom line.”

I feel strongly that when when the new appointments are made, investors will like the choices and this stock will surge. The problems that caused the drop gone, this is a solid company with great product.

This kind of tracking is going to become all pervasive, and for the better. It will prevent so many errors, and allow (among other things) emergency medics to quickly get a handle on what they may be dealing with when a person they have not had at a particular hospital gets rushed in with a problem.
Thanks for the great DD Zoomboom.

Looks like a party's getting started here
I trade Sub pennies and post on sub boards as a diversion. I also comment on blogs while I research, it breaks up the monotony. Subs are like playing lotto tickets and keep me amused. They represent an extremely small portion of my portfolio.
No, its not a special case. I have buys and sells on over two dozen stocks I watch on the L2 every single day. I have Etrade accounts and a fidelity account. The trades are sometimes routed through other market makers, sometimes not. But I always no who is handling a particular trade. I'm telling you it is commonplace. Now just because it is not showing does not mean I will not get the sell or buy, often that hidden bid or ask works to my advantage other times not.
No you figure it out, SIGH, people are behind those computers and plugging in the parameters of what they are trying to accomplish. We will have to agree to disagree, but I was on the bid for large amounts in the low 80's and it was being hidden constantly.
I have two stocks I am trading right now where the MM I am trading through is not showing my bid. And it is higher than what is showing.
And I suppose you have never put in a bid, but not seen it reflected on the L2? really?
Geez, holy missed the point batman. I told you it wasnt the technology I was discussing. I was pointing out that lack of transparancy then was largely why NASDAQ was created, and even with today's computerization the OTC still isn't transparent. There are still plenty of MM's who are strictly trading their own accounts in the OTC
Daily MM's move the bid ask around to induce buys and sells. By definition you could call that manipulation. If I try to persuade you on a board to buy or sell... that is also a form of manipulation. Its simply the degree of which I am discussing.
LOL, you tell me
Anyways, there is no argument that $IMSC should be and soon will be trading much higher on merit, regardless of manipulation
I chose an excerpt from that paper for a reason. It was one of several that led to the creation of NASDAQ. My question to you is: What in that specific excerpt do you think is no longer true? And at what point did it change? Not talking about technology, just what those paragraphs discuss about the Over the counter market.
Really? THE BROKER-DEALER IN THE OVER-THE-COUNTER MARKET
There are three basic classifications of broker-dealers: wholesale, retail, and the integrated firms.
Wholesale dealers stand ready to buy or sell for their own account in transactions with other broker-dealers, who may be acting for themselves or for public customers. Retail firms execute transactions with or for public customers by dealing with wholesale dealers. Integrated firms combine both wholesale
and retail activities. That is, they buy and sell both for their own account and with the public.
Markets for securities are made by and between wholesale broker-dealers through communication of quotations representing prices at which they wish to deal for their own account. These market makers react to incoming orders by purchasing and selling through their own accounts. The market makers' purchases and sales may be to other broker-dealers acting for themselves or for public customers. In this way the market makers function analogously to an exchange by providing a place for the collection of buy and sell orders. However, in the OTC market the orders are not matched and executed. Rather, the market maker buys and sells for his own account, depending on the spread between the bid and asked prices to supply him his profit.

Actually it is a Win-Win if you ask me.
Most of the BSers don't necessarily want the Share price to drop any further IMO, they just want to shake more shares loose so that they can load ahead of the run that will likely occur when the company does a press release/filing showing that they are, in fact, in far better shape than some disingenuous mockers have alleged, and finally roll out their plans for 2014.
I have taken advantage of their (the BSing artists') efforts and bought more down low as well. See you all in the doubles very soon
