From what I understand, the product didn't receive much fanfare and wasn't selling well. Nothing to do with lack of performance on Eastern's part. I was told that Eastern made Simply Orange what it is today (sold everywhere) and could have done the same if the product quality and Mojo marking campaign was stronger. All this info comes from a friend who owns a large juice route on Long Island. Everyone at Eastern and their customers were fired up about the product launch as many at Eastern and their customers bought MOJO and subsequently sold their shares as the product was not moving. I wish I had confidence to get back in at this mid $1 level but I'm just not feeling it. Especially with the info that billyboy provides. My biggest fear is that MOJO seems like a one-man-show and I've seen too many one-man-shows tank. A product like this needs a team behind it! I'm probably not the smartest guy in the room, but just practical.
GLTA!
I was lucky enough to get out at the last $2.35-.40 level (accumulated btwn $2.25-$3.11) so not too bad. Was able to unload my previous purchases in the low $4 range but can't see those days in front of us so I'm going to sit this out. Once I see product in Walmart, et al. stores I will take another look. In the meanwhile marijuana stocks are my focus now. Each one is blasting off!
GLTA!
Nice photos on Facebook... but the product other than a street fair and a blip in Times Square for a few minutes has no POP or marketing material in any "stores". The retailers don't push this stuff... they sell whatever is in their display cases. Chiquita Tropicals merchandised in Sobe holders does nothing for the brand. Although I took a loss on my 4000 shares, I'm so glad to be out of this stock for the time being.
Good luck to all!
I was told from a friend who owns a juice route on Long Island that the product was a difficult sell and that there was no point-of-sale material to help close the deal. No promotional materials or launch deals were provided. All new beverage products typically have counter toppers, window and hang signs, etc. I was also told that Eastern blew out the remaining last cases for $3.00 each My friend gave me 4 cases gratis as my girlfriend's son likes the product. He further mentioned that some expired product needed to go into the dumpster.
This was disappointing to learn as I had strong hopes that Mojo would excel with the Chiquita product line and catch the eye of a large beverage company (take over potential).
Update...
From what I understand... Eastern Distributors has dropped the product line and doesn't expect any new product at this time. They also had to dispose of several pallets of some expired product. I hope the Wal-Mart orders can turn things around!
Alstocks:
I think you have a good take on this company. I believe MOJO is a sleeper and in the near future will become a break out stock, perhaps landing near the $10 mark.
As you said... only time will tell.
There's no doubt that the company is moving product. From what I understand, Eastern Dist is moving a tractor trailer load every few days.
We need to get this company on the radar screen. Perhaps we should send a few cases to CNBC in Jersey!
Would be nice to see this close around $4 today.
Very Short Visioned People Out There...
MORE VOL THAN AAPL!!!
GUYS COME ON! HOLD OUT! DON'T SELL OFF! LET'S GET THIS TO .01 TODAY!
GLTA
Nice to see a bounce here on news, but what we really need is some fresh news (eg. summer sales figures). GO MOJO! GLTA
Absolutely! Sure people are anxious with the limbo. I do know that it is selling well as Eastern received and sold another tractor trailer load in a day. My friend is has a juice route and said that Eastern is very optimistic about this product/company. Although it's normal to cringe when the SP drops like this, we just have to be patient for some good news. Wondering if now is a good time to accumulate more shares? JMO
Eastern is pushing it like crazy (to say the least). Tractor trailer load went in around 2 days! Tastes good, priced well and strong aggressive distribution. As long as management does the right thing, this stock could be a real WINNER! Then we can hope that a Coca-Cola type company takes a good look!
I heard from a juice route driver that the NY distributor is moving the products quite well. I hope that MOJO releases an updated statement about their July production run and current sales.
All 4 flavors are out. Hoping the Chiquita products will gain some quick traction on the latest Naked news. Feels great to be invested in a start-up bev company where I can visibly see the potential.
Product is selling well! Hopefully we'll see some good growth in the coming months!
The product is very good! Tastes similar to Naked, but at a much more reasonable price point. Think this is going to be a winner.
Distributor picked up product today. I will taste product and report back to this board (flavor, etc) in the next few days.
Samples are out and supposedly product is rolling in on MONDAY! Yet to taste it but heard that it's GOOD!
