Yup not the 1950s! And they’ve always served those items just any modern ambience and flare and style. The point of the message wasn’t specific to the cuisine as much as the entire package and the specificities of the cuisine. Clearly the restaurants are being successful as lines are out the door and people are spending more and more money on their food invoices. Dr. Bailes is a globally-recognized leader in the field of neurosurgery and the impact of brain injury on brain function. He is Chairman of the Department of Neurosurgery, Co-Director of the NorthShore Neurological Institute, and Clinical Professor of Neurosurgery at the University of Chicago Pritzker School of Medicine.
Prior, Dr. Bailes was Chief of Cerebrovascular Surgery at Allegheny-West Penn Hospital System for ten years, subsequently serving for eleven years as the Professor and Chairman of the Department of Neurosurgery at West Virginia University School of Medicine where he specialized in cerebrovascular disease, stroke, brain tumors, and traumatic brain injury.
Dr. Bailes is the immediate Past-Chair of the AANS/CNS Joint Section on Neurotrauma and Critical Care. He has been instrumental in the understanding of the clinical evidence of chronic traumatic encephalopathy (CTE), a progressive degenerative disease associated with multiple concussions and other forms of head injury. His research interests have focused upon mechanisms and treatment of cerebral trauma, and his research team has received both industry and NIH funding for TBI research. Since 1994, he has been a neurological consultant to the NFL Players’ Association (NFLPA), which has supported research on the effects of head injuries in professional athletes, and currently is on the NFL Head, Neck, and Spine Committee and NFLPA Mackey White Health and Safety Committee. He has been an advisor to the NCAA and also is Chairman of the Medical Advisory Committee for Pop Warner Football, the largest youth sports association in the U.S. In 2010 he was inducted into the Louisiana State University Hall of Distinction, the highest honor awarded to an alumnus. In 2016, Dr. Bailes was inducted to the Louisiana Sports Hall of Fame and received the Dave Dixon Louisiana Sports Leadership Award and also was inducted into the Northwestern State University Long Purple Line. In 2017 he was named by the Public Broadcasting System as a Louisiana Legend. In 2018 he received the Career Achievement Award from the National Headache Foundation and the Golden Football Award for service to youth sports by Pop Warner Little Scholars, Inc.
Dr. Bailes has over 300 scientific publications concerning various aspects of neurological surgery, including five books on neurological sports medicine, and performs editorial duties for a number of medical journals. Dr. Bailes has been honored as one of the nation’s best surgeons for ten consecutive years in U.S. News & World Report’s “America’s Best Doctors” and was selected by Chicago Magazine as a Chicago top neurosurgeon, from 2014-2020. But that isn't the real story is it? So there is that.
If that was the actual story here, then the company wouldn't even exist. Yet, despite all criticism the company has received, they are still increasing locations, jobs, revenues, contributing to society, creating great experiences for families and friends to gather face to face for a quality time. Places where folks enjoy the socialization, enjoy the great food and drink. The overwhelming majority of reviews are quite positive and the brand name and its strength in the BGC industry is number one. So as a company grows, it tries a few different things, not each one works out perfectly as planned. That's life for every growing business since the dawn of time. Including every major company Apple, Google, Tesla and more had many things tried and after the data comes in they change direction. The company has stated as such, especially the pandemic created a need to really focus there strategy on what provides the best ROI which is directly working on increasing locations, and optimizing each individual location while adding infrastructure for scale. So, how is thing different than every other company that's gone through its growing pains building something new from the ground up?
I like the good focus on the Snakes brand and building locations and optimizing what is best there. If the company hadn't been trying new things all along, they would have never even gotten Snakes going in the first place.
So the real story is, they continue to grow, they continue to add locations, they are increasing their revenues and continue to build a BGC empire.
They aren't stopping, so when there are 30, 50, 100 locations what's it going to be then? Building a company from scratch is not easy, the amount of work it has taken to get here is a ton. Like I mentioned, most companies don't get to dollar one yet they have millions in recurring, growing revenues and a strong brand. They gives them options, and that continues the business, that brings in more locations especially conversions, accelerating the pace they can expand.
So the real story is the one of growth. Most company start out this way on the road to success, so holding Snakes and Lattes to a different standard than every other company in the world is simply a red herring.
