skunksyard,
How about this instead,
QBID announced today that the network was the
focus of The Late Show with David Letterman's Top Ten List last night.
"Awareness is growing as we continue to be recognized as the gay
network of choice by celebrities and the general public," said Frank
Olsen, President and CEO of Q Television Network.
The Late Show with David Letterman broadcast that Q Television is the New GLBT Cable Network available next month, with reference to the Q Television Network Mr. Letterman announced his top ten list

Doesn't that work better is all I'm saying

You are usually annoying, but I have to agree that this PR is annoying for the reason that you mentioned.
Brilliant to make the PR
Stupid to direct investors to a link that doesn't read the same, just makes QTN look fake, when the actual airing was great.
My subscription has been updated to reflect the new packages offered. To my suprise when I checked my queue, 1 dvd sent yesterday (Sunday, a new wrinkle) and 2 more today at 6:38 am (time stamp? also a new wrinkle). I now have 9dvd's in my queue, WOW.......... I'm a happy camper.
All is good...

Seems like this board is starting to get taken over by a BSer. I am disappointed with the pps, don't get me wrong but I am pleased with my subscription service to GamzNflix. In the past few weeks we have never been without a game or a movie at home. The turnaround time definately is working for our family.
I see no signs of a pending implosion (as would be suggested) in fact I see better service, updated websites, professional PRs, and good management.
By the way who was selling the T-Shirts a while back? Do you still have some.

He sounds drunk or really tired.
I guess this is only for shareholders. If any companies are listening, he is wasting too much time scolding shareholders. He has a point though.
Who's Joe Blow?
I'm in too, name, e-mail, and company name was asked. I also bought some more today. Fingers crossed.

Sleeziest Bush Comment of the evening
When asked to name a justice Bush would appoint, he refused to answer because he didn't want to anger any of the judge's since he wanted them to vote for him.
Maybe Bush plans on winning the election in court.

Very, Very Good Choice

This is the part that does not make sense to me. On 9/14 I did a test sell around 1pm. My sell was completely surrounded by .0048 and .0049, yet my sale was for .005. If the market is being diluted my sale would never have gone thru. I'm still fairly new at this game, but this has happened to me before right before a run up and I lost out. If anyone can explain what happened, please do.
I believe the MM's needed my shares.
TIA
Sky
Good Advice Skunksyard, My question about the buyback refers to an earlier pr, I believe it was in April, the pr stated a buy back during the 3 qtr. Did not make sense at the time. Also the launch is scheduled for "any day now" and the stock price does not reflect the launch, seems to be a good opportunity for QTN to buy it's own stock now.
I have put in a call to QTN about this, since it was pr'd.
Sky
That's what I'm talking about. My sale is completely surrounded by .0048/.0049. My logic is MM's want the shares, do you know why else this would happen? Do you think that the buyback is happening?
Sky
Check this out...... I did a test sell at .005, my ameritrade shows sells at .0048 and .0049 during my sale time and some buys getting thru at .005. I have deleted my order numbers and such, but you can see the execution time of my sale. The only reasonable conclusion for my sale to go thru is the MM's want these shares.
Any comments?

I decided it was time to call RCN again, I had called on 8/27. This time I spoke with Virginia, she said the price was $8.95 per month, up $1.00 from my last call, she seemed very familiar with the network, unlike my last call. I wanted to order RCN and QTN, Qtn can not be ordered until it's up. She could not nail a date down for me, but said it was definately in the upcoming line-up and she gave me her direct line to call in a few days. (She gets commission for the order)
I guess we will all know soon.

Welcome Specter,

Noodling Netflix: In the hoopla over a possible linkup between Netflix and TiVo, something appears to have been lost on investors: Even if the two strike some kind of deal allowing Netflix (NFLX: news, chart, profile) subscribers to access movies by downloading them onto a TiVo for a monthly subscription price or on a pay-per-view basis, it's unlikely the library of titles will be anywhere near the 25,000 Netflix now claims -- at least not any time soon. Ditto Netflix's plans to offer download services, which the company has suggested will happen next year.
Blame that on a complex web of film rights and so-called use windows granted by movie studios, which are different for "hard goods," such as retail or DVD-by-mail, and "electronic," which can include the Internet or TV. "The big ah-ha for a lot of companies is that the availability [of] these movies is gone because of the rights that have already been sold," says Bob Greene, senior vice president of advance services for the StarzEncore Group.
Starz, for example, already has long-term exclusive rights for electronic delivery of film libraries from Disney, Sony's Revolution and for half the first-run library of Universal, as well as electronic distribution rights to movies from a handful of independent studios. HBO and Showtime have equally exclusive electronic deals with other studios.
In many cases, Greene says, these rights stretch to 2010. That means any company offering online movie downloading, via pay per view or subscription, will be operating from a remarkably limited library of movies that are either old or -- as is the case for first-run pay per view -- available for a limited time.
Case in point: Downloading pioneer MovieLink's library numbers slightly less than 900 movies -- all of them pay per view. Rival CinemaNow has a few more, with a choice of pay per view or subscription. But its subscription access, at $9.95 a month or $49.95 per year, is limited to 614 movies; throw in adults-only fare and the number of titles rises to 709 for $29.95 per month or $99.95 per year. (First-run movies are available for an extra pay-per-view charge.)
StarzEncore is wading into the subscription downloading waters though a partnership with RealNetworks (RNWK: news, chart, profile) known as Starz Ticket. It offers 150 titles for a monthly price of $12.95, with a twist: Since it's pulling from its own library, on which it has Internet rights, its subscribers can get first-run movies without paying extra.
Netflix, meanwhile, recently boosted the monthly price of its basic DVD by mail service by 10 percent to $22. The price increase was followed by a full assault from Blockbuster (BBI: news, chart, profile), which has recently launched its own DVD-by-mail service. Netflix appears to be feeling the impact.
As I mentioned the other day in Herb Greenberg's RealityCheck, the company was making it harder to cancel -- making anybody who wants to cancel call in rather than quit online. That meant being put on hold for what can be more than a few minutes. (Interestingly enough, the company switched back to the old way as quietly as it switched away from it.) Then there was the conveniently leaked story to Newsweek about a supposedly imminent TiVo (TIVO: news, chart, profile) deal, which Netflix now says is not on any rollout timetable.
And this just in: Further signs that Blockbuster must be taking a toll on Netflix come from my assistant, Samantha Soga, who received an e-mail Wednesday from Netflix offering a 30-day free trial to "friends and family" of existing subscribers. That's double the usual free-trial period.
P.S.: I didn't call Netflix for comment. The company has made it clear that it will not respond to my queries. As my old friend Allan Sloan of Newsweek said at a gathering of journalists years ago: "More space for me, less space for them."
Does anyone know what relationship QTN has with Firestone Communications, other than they helped us with the technical difficulties?

Gater,
Get your facts, whats the point of going after Iraq. Saudi is where the men and the money came from. Let's go there.
Sky
OT Bush mislead us and congress about why we should go to war with Iraq. Doesn't that upset you? Isn't that a lie? Maybe he was lied to, if so, why does he insist he was just. It takes backbone to admit you're wrong. Evil is sacrificing innocent lives for profit or personal gain. Check the records, the neo-conservatives (Cheney and gang) went on record in 1997 that they wanted to invade Iraq. I am not willing to risk a draft with a Bush re-election. Kerry is the lesser of two evils.
Sky
I also spoke with RCN today. I spoke with Jennifer, a customer rep, she confirmed that QTN will be available in NYC. She seemed to be reading her information. When I asked her what date, she said it only said september. I also asked at what price would it be available. She initially said it would come with RCN service and then said "sorry, here it shows $7.95 a month" FWIW
Sky
The service is up and ready for the advertising campaign, the talent chosen works, the times are right.
ALL SYSTEMS ARE GO FOR LIFT OFF
SKY
Charltuna, Thanks for your post. Your information is consistent with my phone conversation with Scott Seger. He also stated billing problems with RCN and a date of Sep. 5. My question is why have an ad with a Sep 4 date? And for this reason the Sep 5 date also scares me.
Sky
The good news is my service has greatly improved, I returned 3 games Saturday and got 2 new games and 1 movie, Big Fish, yesterday. I'm in NJ.
Sky
Just got off the phone with Time Warner in NYC. The rep that answered the phone said to "call back in September, QTN is not available for carriage yet". I also called comcast in NJ where I live and they just said they do not carry QTN and that they would put in a request.
I'm feeling optimistic about Time Warner, the answers from the rep were tentative as opposed to Comcast which were definative.
Sky
Time Warner service is down in large parts of the NYC area right now, that is why the phone lines are busy. I am trying to get through as well.
I spoke with Time Warner last week, and the rep told me that they were planning to carry QTN but it was not confirmed yet.
I don't know why he would say that, it didn't make sense, but that's what he said.
Sky
Thanks for sharing the upbeat news, it's a tough day for the longs.

The area is OK, very busy, that particular block is called the fur district because that is where most of the furriers are, the area is the fashion district bordering Chelsea, one of the hottest and most rapid growing gay areas in NYC.
Sky
Madison Square Garden is on 32nd Street. 26th and 6th is in the fur district.

I just called the NY Office number and spoke with Scott Seger, I asked for the address of QTN's NY address. He said it was 15 West 26th Street. That's off 6th Avenue. Anyone in NYC to go check out the address? He also said that the launch is waiting on RCN to be able to figure out their billing system to accomodate QTN, and once that is done the launch will begin that QTN is ready. He said hopefully by Sep. 5.
