Sorry for the late reply, finished a night of binge drinking and trying to get caught up.
Your commentary is very well stated, and you speak for many of us who have spent YEARS victimized by frustration after frustration after frustration; hoping (so far forlornly) that this company-- once filled with seemingly endless promise-- would finally deliver on behalf of patients and loyal shareholders.
Faith is fading, but not yet ready to surrender.
Urban
Right you are brother!
. . . they will conserve cash . . .
Possible dilution coming?
Lrich -
Agree totally. "Ham-handed" is the term I used in an earlier post to describe JT's leadership style; and as you say, his public speaking ability is irritating and largely incoherent.
Agree. Add to your observations JT's history of handling interactions with members of the media (and, one assumes, with prospective BP buyers) in such an clumsy, ham-handed manner and you have a pretty sad picture.
Agree JL. Plain and simple, Amarin got out-lawyered. Hopefully Singer shall have remedied this with his follow-up brief and during oral argument that results in restoration of fairness and justice to our cause.
Urban
Amen. Our prospects now rest in Singer's representative embrace and in the hands of three appellate judges whom we must trust are legally astute, honest, and just.
Urban
Agree. Nothing to be gained for our cause by embarrassing Du. Pointing out clearly and convincingly the errors in her actions, thinking, and decisions as Singer has done will win the day for us. Have faith!
Best to all longs. Urban
ilovetech - Thank you, I appreciate your note. I also appreciate your many contributions to the board over the years-- always insightful, and well-grounded in reason.
Amen HK, very well stated!
Amen Tasty, perfectly put brother: intellectual and judicial reason (along with Singer's vaunted skill) is where we should plant our faith!
Where the truth/accuracy of one's understanding of Du's decisions lie is difficult-- perhaps impossible-- to discern, but yours is a very thoughtful assessment Rosemount, thanks!
Agree totally!
Rein it in JL. Gutter insults are seldom the refuge of those (like you for so many years on this board) who lead with wisdom, intelligence, and measured reason. Hell, I'm pissed about things too, but trying hard to be civil about things.
BTW: I was suffering along with many other true longs on this board a number of years ago when your expert opinions pulled Amarin's butt out of the fire. You gave a lot of us hope when we dearly needed it-- and to many of us you were an informed mentor and shareholder hero. I thank you for that and will never forget it.
I don't question the fact that Du applied her intelligence erroneously-- from our vantage point... perhaps even from every objective person's vantage point. That doesn't mean that she lacks intelligence, it simply means that she was wrong in this instance.
BTW: I'm a long-time board follower but seldom do I contribute. As a loyal follower I do appreciate your many insightful contributions.
Going after Du relative to (and because of her decision) I'm fine with. Vent over her decision as you will-- I and my 12K shares are frustrated, angry, and depleted too. But to attack her personally-- and after her family no less, as Paddy would urge-- is beneath us, and a violation of civil discourse. We can be better than that.
Folks,
It would be a testament of our character as a board if we would go at least 24 hours without referencing Judge Du in any manner that drifts outside of her professional viewpoints and whether they are accurate/inaccurate; fair/unfair; reasonable/unreasonable. Please: let's apply the brakes on any and all comments regarding her ethnicity, intelligence, sanity, professional reputation, culture, honesty, etc.
Best to all longs!
Thanks Raf. I'm with the "Don't send" group. From what has been reported on this board previously Singer's now got that card in his hand, let him play it how and when he chooses. In any event, this is not a case whereby the more folks who contact the court (judges) the better. . . just doesn't work that way.
Best,
Urban
Appreciate your perspective George and dare to offer one (possibly consequential) qualifier: in early Winter the U.S. may well be operating under new leadership, along with a more optimistic outlook.
Reverse: 20%
Affirm: 60%
Remand: 20%
Settle: 0%
Hoping for 100% Reverse, of course! Good luck all longs!
With appreciation for Irish's input, assistance, and follow-through to date, I strongly suggest that information that is consolidated be submitted to Elisabeth by a second (i.e. Raf) and even a third party. The stakes are too high to fudge around here. My two cents for what they're worth.
