Thanks, should have looked there first.
Nice start today, maybe next week this will really move. I'm ready for the ride.
I'm guessing that the next time I sell will be moments before Google announces that they are buying one of EZ2's websites. Wouldn't that be something.
Of course, we need to have something that's working before anybody is interested in it.
That's my typical luck. At least I still have some shares for this run.
PS: Maybe I'll post BEFORE I sell the next time. That will give someone a good chance to buy my shares just before they take off.
I got tired of holding with nothing happening, so I finally sold half at .014 just before it made the run up.
The reason for the upward movement is that I sold half of my holdings on the 1st.
You may think that this upward movement in EZTO is happening for no reason. But there is a very good reason.
That sounds great with that low float. Where did you find that info? Ameritrade and OTCBB.com don't have anything. Did someone have to call the TA?
Does anyone know the OS on SLSX? Can't find it on OTCBB.com
Cancelled my sell order and moved it up a few points. Hoping the symbol change has a positive effect here.
Just thought I'd dropped in and see if this baby's born yet.
Guess it needs a little more development. HaHa
Threw in a 50 data point trend line and the WAG where the neighboring WAG's are closest (meaning more people thought this was the best choice and filled in the most gaps) is Vexari's WAG for 3/3/2006 6:33:33 PM. That is just 2 picks before lentinman's pick based on his statistical analysis of number of posts.
However, the moving average is skewed toward a later date (as compared to the original chart), so again it matches with lentinman's analysis that the correct date and time has been moving out further.
My overall conclusion then it that I ain't got a chance with my pick of 3/2/2006 1:15:00 PM
However, this contest itself will affect the result. I predict that at the close of the market on 3/3, we will be close enough that many will hang around and chat until there is a frenzy trying to post number 10,000,000 so it will come about 4:30PM on 3/3. That would make TheFastOne the winner with a pick of 3/3/2006 4:27:00 PM.
There would need to be an average of 21,200 posts per day to hit that. (Need 25,000 per day for me to win.HaHa)
OK, enough analysis and speculation.
Interesting! lentinman, since you know statistics, do this. Figure how much time is controlled by each entry. For example, if I guess a time at 2:30 and the closest guesses are 2:20 and 2:40 then I control 10 minutes from 2:25 to 2:35. If the closest are 2:20 and 3:00, then I control 20 minutes from 2:25 to 2:45.
Now figure a rolling average of say 21 of these numbers and chart them. The chart should have a familiar shape to you. Scroll down after you try it. (Or just scroll down if you don't want to work it out)
The chart is basically a bell-shaped curve with irregularities because of a scarcity of guesses covering the wee hours of the morning. Interesting that these WAGs are basically random picks around a central time. Shows again the the wisdom of the masses is better than any one guess.
Didn't compute the exact center of the bell, but it is close to what you are predicting. Wish I remembered my Probability and Statistics class better, but that was 28 years ago.
This must work. No posts for 11 days. Everyone must be cured! (or quit and gave up)
580 guesses, 85 have bit the dust so far. 495 still have a chance with catani in control for the next 2 hours and 40 minutes.
Man, is this getting exciting!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I need some help to win the WAG. I'm offering a deal. IF I win, I will split the prize money with everyone who posts between 13:07:30 and 13:20:00 on March 2nd. Payment will be made by PAYPAL only. If each of the 67,148 members of Ihub gets involved, we can do it. (Payment, however, will have to be to groups of three. $250/67,148 is about 1/3 of a cent). How about it, any takers.
PS If we come up a little short, it will give IRISHBULL a good shot at winning since he controls the next 30 minutes.
What happened on the ROLL board? Posts numbers jump from #108492 to #108546. Were all of those posts deleted?
Do these boards ever get deleted or do they just hang around as a memorial to those who got ripped off by the R/S that was supposed to help the PPS!
Thanks Phil,
I understand the rules as you stated them. I just think that it shouldn't matter where the 10,000,000th message is posted for the WAG part of the contest. It isn't the poster that wins that part of the contest, so it shouldn't matter where that poster posts. I agree if a WAGger is put in jail, his wag is deleted, but if he happens to post the 10,000,000th message at the time I picked, why should I lose my chance to win because he is in jail. Just something to consider for the next contest.
As always, just my 2 cents worth. (If my stock picks don't start working out, I'm going to go broke handing out 2 cents all over the place!!)
"4. The post that determines the WAG winner should be the actual XX millionth post. If a stipulation is put on who wins for posting the XX millionth, that shouldn't be used to affect the WAG contest.
Your exact point here is not clear. Please explain your idea in more detail."
I'll be glad to explain. (I should do it in a few dozen posts, since my WAG is beginning to look like it is too early.)
My understanding is that there are two contests going right now. One is for the person that posts the 10,000,000th message. However that message needs to be a public message on a stock board about stocks. So it is the first qualifying message after 9,999,999.
The second contest is the WAG for the 10,000,000th message. My point is that the first contest should not affect the second. I'm saying the time of the 10,000,000th message should be the winning time for the WAG, not the time of the "qualifying" message for the first contest. So I may end up picking the exact time of the 10,000,000th message and still lose because that message did not "qualify".
However, this discussion is probably academic, since at the time of the 10,000,000th message, there will be a few hundred posters hitting the submit button with a qualifying post trying to win the $1000, so most likely posts 10,000,000 through 10,000,100 will all be at the same second and at least one of them will be qualifying even if number 10,000,000 isn't.
It's all right to put the "qualifying" stipulation on the person posting the 10,000,000th. It's their fault that it didn't qualify. But if I predict (using whatever means available) the exact time of the winning post, why should I be penalized if that poster happens to be in jail?
Again, only my two cents worth. Do whatever you think is best.
If you run another contest in the future, here are a few ideas. (Some of these have been mentioned before).
1. Keep WAGS secret until deadline for entries over.
2. No limit to how close a WAG can be to another WAG. If two WAGS are at the same time, just split the prize two ways (or three, etc.). If a limit is imposed, it could be a problem because a WAGger may try many times before hitting an available slot. Allow WAG's down to the second.
3. Post a summary of WAG's, like now many WAG's so far and maybe broken down by day or even hour.
4. The post that determines the WAG winner should be the actual XX millionth post. If a stipulation is put on who wins for posting the XX millionth, that shouldn't be used to affect the WAG contest.
Just my two cents worth.
Hmmm. No PR on the new CEO or did I miss it?
My pick is 3/2/2006 at 1:15pm
99Dan,
Was that pun intentional? "get over their addition"
I like addition when it is addition to the pps of a stock I own. How about you? I don't want to get over that!!
What night of the week must one attend the iHub Anon meetings to get over their addition?
I'll try to make it. LOL
skimoe,
Check out http://www.fairmark.com/capgain/wash/ws101.htm
Read that page and the second page especially. It sounds like you may PERMANENYLY lose the loss deduction for other reasons.
Other than that, have a Very Merry CHRISTmas
I think the wash sale rules would apply. Both transactions will be on your tax return. You don't file two schedule D's, nor do you specify what account transactions take place in. The rules apply to the taxpayer (in this case, you and your wife because you file jointly), so I don't see anyway around it other than MAYBE filing separately, but that opens a whole new can of worms.
Can you look at a five day period last December with intraday information? That is what I am having a problem doing.
When I change from daily to intraday, it switches back to the current date.
At the rate everyones leaving, there won't be anyone left to paint the tape at the close ..................
"Enemy Territory - MICHIGAN"
Wait a minute there -- I call Michigan home. And it's still hunting season around here and BUCKS are what everyone is aiming for.
Have a safe trip, anyway.
Merry Christmas
We need volume, 66k shares isn't enough. We need a few thousand more in volume LOL
Is something up with VZRO or that trade just an error. .0001 stock has a trade at .003 Maybe another of those cases where a trader hit the wrong number. Luckily this one was only a $60 error at most.
Thanks.
I found that on Ameritrade using advance charting, I can get close to what I want, but here is what happens:
I have to start showing 2 years, so it shows the period I want. Then I can drag over the days I want, but it only shows the closing price, if I try to change to 5 minute prices or anything else, it moves off of the days I selected. Very frustrating. I'm sending Ameritrade a note on it now.
OK, I wanted to show someone what SPEA did about a year ago. No charts for SPEA. If you look at CKXE over 2 years, you can see it went from ?? (near 0) to close to 10 in a short time, but not how short.
Is there any place on the web where I can get historic charts. I can get charts covering 10 years if I want, but what I am looking for, for instance, is where I can look at a chart for a stock for just 2003, or for a stock symbol that no longer exists. Can anyone help me with that? I use Ameritrade, but I can't find anything like that.
You're right about no tax consequences until you sell, UNLESS, you qualify as a "trader" and choose to use "mark-to-market" accounting. Then yes, if EZTO went to $100 on December 30th just before the close, you would have taxes due, even though you don't sell.
I'm thinking about selling next week for a tax loss, but I would be a lot happier if I could sell next week and pay a TON of taxes on my gains.
Which one will it be?
Check out Business Week article about Google. Google has billions in cash and may be looking to buy up companies that have services that Google doesn't offer yet. End of article says that Google doesn't have something like Ebay. Watch out if Goggle finds out about Ez2auction.
Now on a bad note. New ez2auction home page is a killer for dialup users.
EZTO is not Snap N' Sold Corp. Re-Read the PR!
Snap N' Sold Corp.(OTCBB: EZTO: .024), http://www.snapnsold.com, is engaged in the eBay (NASDAQ:EBAY), drop store industry. Snap N' Sold is managing its growth through the acquisition of community-centered retail "thrift stores" that will continue operating in that business while also acting as local eBay drop store "consignment centers" and corporate and estate asset disposition offices.
Matt,
What tour did you take? I've been to Niagara 3 times, but each was just for about an hour to look at the falls and then leave. Thinking about going for a couple of days and seeing everything this time.
they probably couldn't read it and thought it was some secret encoded message to someone
