Did anyone ever hear news about the hearing today? Haven't seen any comments.
Yes, it is. This is because of the advancement to the manufacture, application and advancement stage. It's current advancement is readiness for a large array of applications. It is not really possible to strip out the patented technologies, thus separating the military from the commercial. It's easy to separate the company structure but not easy to unbraid the technology.
But we shouldn't dismiss the possibility that upon further scrutiny, this transfer of intellectual property poses a serious threat. I have read that the technology of these batteries is about a decade ahead of its competitors and that the batteries will function reliably at much more extreme temps. Do we want to pass this technology to China? Really?
This is amazing. What the heck? I know one author said that once CFIUS rules, there is no way to reverse it. I don't believe that.
I babysat this stock nearly everyday (and you're right, usually in my bathrobe). And to my credit I will admit that I was wrong all along the way. And no, still haven't found my true love here.
Fishercat, I meant to say Shirley, you need to get out.
Fishercat, Sweetie, you need to get out. I got out at open with a market order for .031. Not too bad a price.
No way.
Why do you feel "pretty sure" he did block it?
Hybrid, what if somebody ELSE bid on the assets. Somebody like GE or Boeing? Perhaps a friskier bidding war could occur if the President steps in.
What the heck does woot stand for? Thanks!
Don't be shy about contacting the WH to ask POTUS to disallow the CFIUS approval. I emailed and called.

Just called Senator Debbie Stabenow's office (she has campaigned to block the sale) to find out if CFIUS approval is the end of the story or if there is a chance the POTUS might disapprove the sale. I asked that her office return comment by email. Has anyone else here contacted the Govt. to ask for clarification?
The Last Trade
Occurred at 6:04:33 EST. Schwab wouldn't accept my trade at 1 WST. Didn't think that trades were allowed that much after hours.
Can't say I agree with the assumption that the Wanxiang deal is going through. In a logical world, the assumption would be logical. In this world, it isn't. We should hear soon whether CFIUS has kicked the can to POTUS. I am assuming that the Court is still not privy to the decision, even though that defies logic.
Oh stop. Only a moron would make such a manipulative statement in the absence of
ANY news (which you better worry about, because you know the news could come at any moment).
I smell a bear attack!!!!
I am thinking of buying more but I need a teensy bit of news!!!
I'm here now because I believe the sale will be blocked and the stock will gush upward while we wait to see if there is a future for AONE. If the sale goes through the stock will go up then down forever. I am not here because of the hype and manipulation by the coordinated trading teams (they have already shown us that they can inflate and empty the stock in minutes). Their influence is also a big "if." We should watch the news and Sunday talk-shows for a hint. Don't take any advice from me, this is my opinion only.
Wow, talk about pressure on POTUS and CFIUS to block this sale! If the govt. announces a block of the sale today or tomorrow, they have to come up with some idea about what happens next. There is going to be a storm of outrage either way!
Well, I don't think that shares can be cancelled until ownership of the assets has been settled. The Wanxiang deal closes Feb. 1 and there is the distinct possibility that the sale is blocked. Then what?? So until we have a deal, I believe our shares will be intact. However, I am worried about the rush to the door since there are millions of shares out there and who will buy them once they are deemed valueless? It's a guessing game and so far, I've guessed wrong.
I have it stuck in my mind that CFIUS is due Jan. 28. Also, CFIUS is entirely separate from the Court's bk proceedings so they aren't gonna hold for the next hearing. I think CFIUS decision will be announced in the next few days. I bought back in to play "what happens to this stock if CFIUS blocks the sale?" If CFIUS approves I guess there could be a rush for the exits. Or maybe not!
I find the coordinated pump and dump that's been going on here the last few days to be mighty dodgy! I'm just saying when did it become perfectly okay to circumvent the law and manipulate the stock price up so big share holders and investors can get out in the pink.
Considering how fraught with controversy the "issue" has become, CFIUS may decide not to make a big hoopla about the announcement. They could even slip it under the door this weekend.
I'm trading on the CFIUS decision because this train will pull out of the station too fast to get on! That's my opinion but what do I know, I know my new best friends would not loose this obvious opportunity for momo.
What will happen here if CFIUS and the POTUS block this sale? Will the stock immediately skyrocket or will it wobble?
YES!!!! I waited in the wings until my 31 days was over.
Today is the day I finally reloaded. I paid a little premium (.055), but I am a hopeful that it will pay off in the days of speculation ahead. I hope it's fun spending even more time with all my new best friends.
We will await a Presidential Review. And after his speech, what else could he do but deny the sale!
My opinion only.
Have you all checked out Ilene's twitter link to FB? It gives me that warm fuzzy feeling. News any minute or Mon. at the latest!--my opinion only. This stock will explode like the Three Stooges chasing a ferret.
I wouldn't be surprised if we get our CFIUS news by Fri. Is this spike a "buy on the rumor." Certainly that news will also move this stock--one way or the other.
It was a significant left-over. Thank you. I wish I has L2. I can't look it up, but I appreciate the explanations from you and Bawanah.
Anybody notice the "after hours" trade? I know OTC doesn't have extended hours trades, I wonder what happened? It moved AONEQ up to .058 (it was a big buy).
Bid above the ask
Is outbidding the reason that the bid was above the ask much of today? Would I be wise or stupid to buy back in tomorrow? I guess we may open at .06. How far are we likely to go up?
Opti, As pessimistic as I've become, there is still something glittering as a possibility. I know I read here somewhere that JCI withdrew its bid. So, does that possibly mean that some other outcome is possible? Rather than JCI getting sloppy seconds? Anyway, it doesn't seem that JCI is in any shape to assume these assets.
Hybrid, sorry I couldn't reply to your PM but the document that includes the "five-day rule" And the reason for the additional 350 mill, AND Wanxiang's new name for A123 is "Exhibit A" of the offer.
Please see post # 18385.
We have parsed, rehashed and microwaved these words so many times. The only thing different is that the other day we had BIG MONEY here. Is Big Money coming back? Someone please tell me.
It was filed with the "Offer" as Exhibit A of the following document:
Notice of Adequate Assurance of Future Performance (dated, December 10, 2012)
http://www.loganandco.com/ClientDockets.aspx?DebtorID=381&DebtorTabID=3534
I interpret it as a kind of "good faith deposit."
Thanks, RxJosh for reminding me how annoyed and embarrassed I am. Time for a bp pill!
And they got bonuses and they get to go on to their new venture and even now, people like Smakkdaddy are getting sucked in (doesn't he remind us of Alricking? Positive, in spite of everything). And you notice, no new news; we have to sneak around and ferret out our facts. Oh, and I love it that we never got a Shareholders Committee That was fair, right? Sorry if I sound a little bitter. I meant to sound REALLY BITTER.
No. AONEQ is the company that is "in BK."Hence the "Q" at the end of the ticker. BTW, it doesn't trade on the Nasdaq anymore.
I also read (someplace) that a number of A123 execs decamped for a spin-off. I am only surmising that 24M might be their next business venture. I hope they weren't the same execs we just paid big bonuses to guide A123 through Chapter 11.
Which part is wrong? I know that 24M existed in 2010 and was founded by an A123 VP. Can you enlighten us?
