You crack me up watts.. post # 0002? does that mean we have to suffer thru another 998 posts to fill your quota?? lol. just kidding of course.. I welcome your experience and knowledge in this field.
I am more interested in "all the other customers" that lqmt has/will have that will pay REAL $ for parts shipped. I still think mass production of lqmt apple parts is 1-2 years out.
If the speculation is that the apple iphone 5 launch in october will have a sleek "uni-body" case ( made of liquidmetal ) how the heck do we have enough machines to make 100 million cases for the launch? Any ideas? I am very doubtful.. but would love to be wrong of course.
No.. I did my job.. it's called DD. Calling the company countless times.. speaking with tony and tom at least 3 and 2 times respectively... lol. I know the risks.. but more importantly.. I know the REWARDS if they pull this off. Have a good w/e all TRUE lmqt longs.
You children can bicker all day long but i took advantage of the drop to add a nice chunk at .15 lol
At this point you have to "trust the facts" as they have been
presented. Apple/Engel/Materion/Visser...partnerships with all
4 of these companies ( 3 of which are multibillion $ co's).
Actually made $250,000 in revenue in december 2011( and that
could have only been a couple weeks not the full month and all
very preliminary). Mark Sankovitch, President of Materion,
stating in a press release.."There has been "significant"
progress in developing an injection molding system to
accommodate the liquid metal process". Steipp announcing there
will be a "manufacturing pipeline in the coming months as they
continue to "ramp" up their production capabilities. I could go
on and on..but at this point it is TRUST your DD and investment
decision and watch this unfold.
I personally DO NOT believe that lqmt will be MASS producing apple components anytime this year. We don't have anywhere near the amount of molding machines to make an apple product at this time. Its all about: aerospace/medical/ other industries right now.
You too. Word is getting out with each press release ( this latest PR will reach into Europe as Bloomberg news is HEAVILY followed there). This will be an EXCITING year for lqmt and shareholders . Good luck.. and keep up the great DD.
**great news that this new story has hit all the major Newswires..is a headline on my bloomberg headlines for lqmt***
Significant progress reported as liquid metal molding scales up

There has been "significant" progress in developing an injection molding system to accommodate the liquid metal process, and Liquidmetal Technologies (Rancho Santa Margarita, CA) has already begun shipping molded components to customers.
Mark Sankovitch, president of Engel North America (York, PA) discussed liquid metal in an interview with Plastics Today at NPE2012 in Orlando, FL .
Liquidmetal Technologies developed bulk amorphous glass products that are aimed at replacing complex machined parts with injection molded components. The plan is to offer stronger, lighter, more corrosion-resistant parts at significantly lower prices, but developing economic processes to produce the Zr/Ti-based alloys has been difficult.
One of the major parties developing the technology is Apple, which has licensed exclusive rights to use the material in consumer electronics applications. Medical applications are also a major possibility for the process.
Liquidmetals Technologies' path to commercial success has been a difficult one since the technology was first invented in 1993 by Caltech professor William Johnson. He started with golf heads as the first commercial product, but Liquidmetal Golf was discontinued in 2001. The company went public in 2002 with share prices above $20. But as debt piled up, the stock price plummeted. The share price recently was under 20 cents.
Liquidmetal Technologies Inc. (OTCBB: LQMT) reported 2011 revenues of $1 million and an operating loss of $6.5 million.
Commenting on the earnings report on March 30, CEO Tom Steipp, said: "Liquidmetal Technologies has reached an important milestone enabling it to realize the benefits of its partner relationships. By the end of 2011, we are now able to source alloy feedstock from Materion, process our alloys using next generation molding machines from Engel and manufacture commercial parts at our contract manufacturer, Visser Precision Cast. Looking forward, we will be working with our partners to scale up these production capabilities while engaging with customers in aerospace, medical, sporting goods and other industries."
Engel, one of the leading developers of injection molding technology in the world, was enlisted as a development partner to work with companies that are developing molds and vacuum chambers. Multiple researchers have been working on the Liquidmetal process at Engel's R&D center in Austria. "We have seen tremendous advances in overcoming the obstacles," said Sankovitch in the interview. He said all-electric injection molding machines are used. Engel has focused on integration of the molding machine with the vacuum chamber and on the controller for the system. No other details are available.
"This had been essentially a die casting process," said Sankovitch. "The goal has been to make it more like an injection molding process." One of the advantages of injection molding is the ability to produce net shape parts that don't require secondary processing. Another advantage is a significant reduction in cycle production times, which are likely to still be higher than cycle time for thermoplastics. Two minute cycles are a possibility, still much better than die casting.
Materion Brush Inc., a unit of Mayfield Heights, Ohio-based Materion Corp. is contributing alloy production technologies.
*** YES THIS IS A REPOSTING OF A POST FROM YESTERDAY .. WAS POSTED ON YAHOO BOARD BEFORE MIKE POSTED HERE***
Totally agree stocksgreen.. I bought alot more yday at .202 and if this drops again next week i will add a bit more. I believe lqmt will steadily grow thruout 2012 and 2013 will be the BREAKOUT year for them. Don't forget we get 1st Q 2012 earnings in less than 2 months.. with 3 months of FULL earnings to report from shipments to their "several" customers.. aerospace/medical. goodluck!
They exist because they see the potential of lqmt in all applications! In my opinion this was a solid CC and Steipp did what Steipp does best.. understated the facts. I look forward to 1st Q report.
Just got filled all my shares( took a couple mins to fill all) at .202 . good luck.
Against my better judgement im buying more( way overexposed).. but there are TOO many positive things going on to not take advantage of this stock at .20 cents.! If you combine all the partnerships.. engel/materion/apple/swatch/visser and others combined w/ all the good DD done here and the various "connections" made between visser and lqmt and materion and apple im going in for more. Good luck everyone. I will know in 3+ hours if i made the right choice.. lol!
I said wake me up.. i didn't say im selling there! haha
wake me up when level 2 reads: bid $1.00 ask $1.25
I am under the impression that the 4pm March 30th earnings announcement is related to Steipp just being incredibly busy getting all the PAST accounting errors (kang) fixed and more importantly busy with "Additional Liquidmetal Technologies customer parts are scheduled to be part of the manufacturing pipeline in the coming months as the company continues to ramp its production capabilities". The fact that the release is friday and not thursday means nothing to me.. I don't think Steipp is trying to HIDE behind a weekend. Imo. I look forward to hearing more about the shipments and possible customers.
JUST IN CASE ANYONE FORGOT :} - from 3/6/12-- Liquidmetal® Technologies Begins Shipment of Commercial Parts to Customers
March 06, 2012 06:33 PM Eastern Daylight Time
RANCHO SANTA MARGARITA, Calif.--(EON: Enhanced Online News)--Liquidmetal® Technologies Inc. (OTCBB: LQMT) today announced that its manufacturing operations are currently in the midst of shipping commercial parts to several of its customers world-wide. Parts delivery began this past December with continuing shipments scheduled for the months ahead.
President and CEO Tom Steipp commented, “We are very excited about the use of amorphous alloy technology to deliver stronger, lighter, and more corrosion resistant parts to our customers in varying industries globally. These initial shipments represent a significant milestone in our efforts to provide a new class of materials for our customers to consider when designing complex parts.”
Additional Liquidmetal Technologies customer parts are scheduled to be part of the manufacturing pipeline in the coming months as the company continues to ramp its production capabilities.
Honestly.. even if he did say something of REAL value i would NEVER share with a message board! You know the drill oracle. Yes I did speak with him.. he actually called me back after I left 3 messages w/ him. He sounded busy but upbeat.. and told me 2011 4th Q earnings report will be late march. I like Steipp.. I think he is a straight shooter and a real professional. Go have your drinks because this thing is about to get REAL exciting.. next week. And for the record maybe my last post sounded like I spoke w/ steipp like yday.. but it was actually about 1 week ago.
just back from the beach.. I see some of you ADDICTED lqmters have been posted most of this beautiful sunny florida saturday! lol. Anyway.. I spoke with Tom and he didn't say much , as I would imagine he wouldn't, but he did say things like.."we are in the process of lining up all our ducks in a row".. and "we are not a well oiled machine ..yet". To me as an experienced Bond Trader... and private investor.. the reading between the lines here speaks VOLUMES. Not pumping although it may sound that way.. just have a great feeling about this one.. also thanks to great DD by oracle and others on this board. Guys go grab a few drinks and enjoy the w/e.
Maybe I was dreaming this but did someone here once say that Steipp and Johnny Ives know each other ( friends)???
"offering mass production of parts at a comparable pricing to that of parts made from plastics." One of the best quotes i have seen to date! thxs...
"manufacturing pipeline" in my opinion means solid repeating orders from 2 or more customers. We will know ALOT more in 1 week!
Now it's my turn.. That was a SPECTACULAR post my oracle of undercover work friend! I think you followed my lead from earlier and took it to more than the next level. Now i have to buy more manana! nice digging.
I would be willing to bet that Tom and Barney are military buddies.. vietnam.. air force academy in colorado ( for tom). Barney has very deep pockets ( owns 75 furniture centers)! I need to buy more lqmt....

Barney Visser aka Norden LLC- owns 7,870,307 shares of lqmt or almost 6% of float. article about him follows: Chambers: Furniture Row team owner Barney Visser now a self-made racin' man
Posted: 05/20/2011 01:00:00 AM MDT By Mike Chambers
The Denver Postdenverpost.com
Barney Visser is an accomplished businessman and NASCAR team owner. (AAron Ontiveroz, The Denver Post )When Regan Smith drove the No. 78 Furniture Row Racing entry to its maiden NASCAR Sprint Cup victory May 7, car owner Barney Visser's biography went from impressive to stunning.
The Denver native played football at Northern Colorado before dropping out of college, is a Vietnam veteran and the author of a book about the war, founded a furniture chain and became a self-made millionaire before starting the NASCAR team.
Visser and his wife, Carolyn, have raised nine children and are approaching their 39th anniversary. After establishing his furniture kingdom, Visser semi-retired and needed a hobby that didn't include golf.
He bought a race car that had been used at Colorado National Speedway after seeing it listed in a newspaper ad. Visser had never been to the short oval north of Denver, or even been behind the wheel of a race car, but once he had, he was hooked. He met a local legend, driver Jerry Robertson, and, with the blessing of Furniture Row's marketing department, began to pour millions into a race team that made its Cup debut in 2005.
"Basically, he's said, 'This is my hometown, I want the race team here, I live here, I want to be able to go to it, and see it, and have my hands on it and being involved with it,' and that's what he's done," Smith said of the 62-year-old Visser. "It's a little more travel. We have to organize stuff ahead of time when it comes to parts, pieces, engines and things like that, but it's worked out really well and we've got great people out there."
"The fact that I've proven people wrong doesn't really mean anything to me," Visser said. "Just knowing that we can win every time we can go to a race track — really knowing it — is just huge for me. It adds a lot of thrill to the game. It's a lot of fun."
Visser attended Denver Christian through his junior year in high school, and then transferred to Thomas Jefferson High School, which had split sessions at the time. He went to school from 7 a.m. to noon and then worked at a nearby Safe- way from 1 to 10 p.m.
After volunteering for Vietnam in 1967 and serving as a paratrooper rigging parachutes, he used the Army GI bill to attend UNC, where he walked on to the football team, despite not playing in high school. He earned a scholarship and played on the defensive line in 1970.
He ultimately lost his scholarship for taking 11 credit hours in the spring, one fewer than the minimum. He dropped out and returned to Denver to mow lawns for the summer.
"Apparently I couldn't add to 12," Visser said with a laugh. "I really wasn't cut out for school. The most I learned was at Denver Christian, where the teachers were excellent role models. They really cared."
Visser introduced the retail world to big, poofy pillows in the 1970s (Pillow Kingdom) and waterbeds in the 1980s (Big Sur), and when those fads faded, he founded four other specialized furniture stores that ultimately became Furniture Row, which has grown to 75 centers nationally.
Visser owns two private jets and gets himself and his team to the races in style. He said he used to make about 80 percent of the races.
"I'll miss fewer now because I'm afraid we might win and I won't be there," he said.
My "risk tolerance" for this stock was surpassed 200,000 shares ago.. lol.

The first use of Apple Liquidmetal.. IMO. Apple has been granted its first patent related to Liquidmetal, a space-age metal alloy. But the patent isn’t for a new iPad enclosure or iPhone antenna, as experts have predicted. Instead Apple’s Liquidmetal patent is for an internal component of a fuel cell.
Apple’s new patent describes “amorphous alloy” collector plates for fuel cells, an electrochemical battery that uses hydrogen to generate electricity. Although the patent doesn’t reference the Liquidmetal trademark, the material is an amorphous alloy or “metallic glass.”
Last year, Apple signed an exclusive agreement to use the Liquidmetal Technologies’ IP in consumer electronic products. But of course, the ever-secretive company hasn’t hinted at its plans for the material. The possibilites are endless. Liquidmetal is a super lightweight, high-strength, scratch-proof metal that NASA says is “poised to redefine materials science as we know it in the 21st century.”
Scientists who helped develop Liquidmetal have previously predicted that Apple will use it to build the next iPhone. So why is Apple interested in fuel cells? ***FYI THIS ARTICLE IS 1 YEAR OLD**

Looks very interesting.. nice find chris... I guess we will all know soon enough .. within the next month alot will be announced 4th Q 2011 and 1st Q 2012 will uncover many secrets. good luck!
Funny i just noticed this.. but do you realize Tom Steipp started at lqmt august 10, 2010.. the same day that apple buys the patent-license agreement... coincidence? I think not! Steipp is the MAN.. he will build this company into a major player.. IMO.------------------------------------------------------------- Thomas Steipp Named President & CEO of Liquidmetal® Technologies
Business Wire

**new press release from APPLE insider: Liquidmetal announces it is now shipping commercial parts to unnamed customers
By Neil Hughes
Published: 10:13 AM EST (07:13 AM PST)
Apple partner Liquidmetal Technologies, maker of a unique metal alloy, announced on Wednesday it has begun shipping commercial parts to "several" customers, but declined to name any specifically.
Liquidmetal revealed that delivery parts actually began to customers in December. But the company announced on Wednesday that its manufacturing operations are now shipping parts to a number of worldwide customers, and shipments are expected to continue into the months ahead.
"We are very excited about the use of amorphous metal alloy technology to deliver stronger, lighter and more corrosion resistant pats to our customers in varying industries globally," Liquidmetal President and CEO Tom Steipp said. "These initial shipments represent a significant milestone in our efforts to provide a new class of materials for our customers to consider when designing complex parts."
Whether it's simply a coincidence or not, the timing of the announcement on Wednesday is interesting because it comes just a few hours before Apple is expected to show off its third-generation iPad. In 2010, Apple purchased the exclusive rights to utilize the company's amorphous metal alloys in consumer electronics.
Liquidmetal revealed to the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission in 2010 that it had granted all of its intellectual property assets to Apple, giving the company "a perpetual, worldwide, fully-paid, exclusive license to commercial such intellectual property in the field of electronic products in exchange for a license fee."
the only liquid metal we need to be concerned with is LIQUIDMETAL. one word. hopefully we hear
something good next week.
This is good news imo. Visser will/should be explained in detail in lqmt march 15th earnings press release.. as well as hopefully something UNEXPECTED?! Also, correct me if i am wrong but does Ricardo Salas now own a total of approx 11.5 million shares of lqmt.. directly and indirectly.. after his preferred conversion.
I think this is the most likely use of LQMT from apple. Apple Is Granted Its First Liquidmetal Patent [Exclusive]

Fuel cells are a hot technology in Silicon Valley right now. The technology promises to be cheap, efficient and environmentally friendly.
Miniature fuel cells could power mobile phones for more than 30 days without recharging and notebooks for 20 hours or more.
Bloom Energy has developed larger fuel cells capable of powering homes and offices. The company, profiled by 60 Minutes, has raised $400 million and sold power units to Google, eBay and Walmart.
The problem is manufacturing fuel cells that are a safe, hard-working and reliable over many years. Lots of companies are working on developing the right materials. Because Liquidmetal can be made to be super hard, corrosion proof, and durable, it may prove to be the ideal material for fuel cells.
The collector plate described in Apple’s patent acts as a catalyst for a chemical reaction that separates electrons from hydrogen to produce electricity. Its only byproducts are water and heat. As long as the cell is topped-up with fuel, it will continue to generate power. The process is clean, quiet and highly efficient — up to three times more efficient than burning fuel.
Apple fuel cell rumors go back to 2003, when the company was rumored to be pursuing fuel cells for PowerBooks.
