Taseko Mines (TGB, Weekly Chart, Daily Chart) is a Vancouver based junior copper/gold producer that hit multi-year highs this week. This could be a very sweet play mid to long term if copper prices continue to move higher, which I see as almost a given unless the world economy collapses for some reason.
Although Taseko's Gibraltar mine is already a 36,700-ton-per-day operation with a 21-year life, it's the company's Prosperity deposit that has our CAPS contestants so bullish. Prosperity is regarded as the largest untapped gold-copper deposit in Canada, having proven and probable reserves of 480 million tons. With global commodity consumption as voracious as ever, Prosperity (if it is, in fact, viable), should only benefit from higher gold and copper prices going forward.

Taseko Mines Limited ("Taseko" or the "Company") (Toronto:TKO.TO - News)(AMEX:TGB - News) announces that the Company has commenced a Cdn$40 million Phase II expansion to the Gibraltar Mine to further increase milling capacity that complements the Phase I expansion now underway.
Data being generated from ongoing drilling indicates to Taseko management that significant mineral resources will be upgraded to reserves in the near future. As a result, Gibraltar has begun detailed engineering to add capacity to the Phase I expansion ultimately increasing the Gibraltar concentrator throughput to 55,000 tons per day ("tpd") when complete.

And not just taxes (known, such as sales tax, and unknown, such as tobacco and liquor taxes hidden in the price) but also fees, tolls, approvals, licenses, etc., etc., etc. Just take a close look at your phone bill. I'd bet 30% is taxes and fees of some sort.
The funny, sad-funny, thing is that most of the hardest hit don't even know their getting the butt end of the joke. Lotteries are extremely regressive, preying on the low income and a roll back of tax cuts will cause the low end tax rate to go from 15 to 20% (a 33% increase) and the top end to go from (I think) 35 to 39% (only an 11.4% increase).
But as bad as it gets, ladies and gentlemen, you could be stuck in Venezuela. I hope no one here owns Verizon.
ROTFLMAO
Hope in one hand and crap in the other, you know. I doubt this leopard can change its spots that easily.
And there are a LOT of frumious Bandersnatches out there. I know. I've bought my share. LOL
Good trading to all.
TSYS - Momo, Trend and Volume indicators all perking up.
TSYS
Been loading up at lower levels. Now, if it can just make and stay at a new high. Relatively low float (29m?) and some nice contracts coming in.
Sweet. Love the increasing Vol and the GREEN V bars. :)
Now the Donald fans can step in and place their bets at a cheap price.
Forgive me if my enthusiasm is somewhat crushed under their float.
NYMEX January light sweet crude futures are down almost 1.50. No one believes OPEC anymore.
TSYS - 52 week highs with only resistance over 2 years old. Trying to break above the EMA 200.
All those honeydos can really stack up, though.
I'm doing fine. Still adjusting to being retired. Hate not having that hour commute each way. LOL
I hadn't noticed the Put action. Will keep my powder dry on this one for a while.
wb - Keep an eye on AMGN. It may be through basing here and readying for a move higher.
AMGN
I see a break below the 50 MA and an ADX that is pointing in the wrong direction. It is sitting right at support at about 1.00 and a break below that could retest the lows at .89. On a positive note, it is sitting on the lower BB, but it MUST bounce from here or they will turn down again as well.
The financials seem to be improving, but the volume is still very low for a $1 stock.
Agree on the 200 MA analysis. It failed to breach it once already. The 50 MA has moved up above the 1.12 level and should provide some support. That 1.19 is beginning to look like the low, but only the shadow knows.
TERN hit 1.19, but hasn't gotten to my 1.12, yet. Needs volume!
icon - I bet I missed the deadline again for TSYS, didn't I.
#$^%*)^#!@%$&
RFMD - Needs to get the bollies turned back up.
ACLS - Consolidation in an upward channel.
Agreed on that. 140%+ volume today. Let's see what the next couple of weeks bring.
I'm at break even + so I look at this one slightly differently now.
What backlog is that? I was looking at the government contracts.
BTW, I love their profile:
TeleCommunication Systems, Inc. engages in the development and application of wireless data communications technology primarily in the United States and internationally.
I guess intergalactic is in the works. LOL
TSYS - Breakout or Fake out?
RFMD - RSI coss, MACD cross, ADX cross. Looking sweet.
RF Micro Devices
xchip - This turned into a very nice pick. You have my member mark.
Throw TSYS in as a gapper pick.
My first thought is that someone was unimpressed with yesterday's private placement at $2 a share. It was been having trouble making a new high anyway, so I'd like to see that September high taken out before entering, or a new base put in on a retracement.
Could this be the reason for the dump?
From letter to shareholders:
We have recently paid back certain short term debt, leaving us with approximately $6 million in 6% convertible debenture debt. As of today's date, our outstanding shares of common stock total 178,335,325, with potential further dilution as follows: the convertible debentures which, if, converted would result in the issuance of 3,887,259 additional shares; 11,448,393 in outstanding warrants convertible into an equivalent number of shares; and 15,851,313 non qualified stock options outstanding to directors, employees and consultants.
There have been over 5 million shares traded in the past 4 days, average of 350,000 shares per day before that (5m - 1.4m = 3.6m). Will it continue this week or have all the CDs been converted and traded?
Somebody has been unloading for sure, but the price has held up reasonably well despite it.
Intraday (15 min.)
Housing Industry? You ARE a contrarian.
SEBASS - Looking into my tea leaves I see
%R has dropped from highs, DMI+ has dropped through ADX, slow stoch has crossed under the 80 line and it's signal, the CCI is threatening to cross under the zero line. Draw a trendline from the July low at .74 through the Oct 16 low. That trendline is where I'd look for support first.
I also see support at 1.12 and 1.02. If you really like this one, you might try to catch a panic dip to one of these support levels with a GTC order way low, say half your target allotment. Complete your fill if/when support holds.
Here is an indicator set I use, 3 momentum indicators, 3 trend indicators, and 2 volume indicators. All 3 categories are showing weakness or signs of volatility.
Good luck on this one. I've played it before. Just remember, Sir Isaac Newton must have played the pinkies (what goes up, must come down (or at least consolidate)).
ABY - Crack. Nice break.
A break of 1.90 would be sweet, a break and a hold, that is.
Looks like it held at WMA(50). Looking for a break of 4.80.
