Any thoughts on the $RUT's lack luster performance today?
Any thoughts from any & all on risk/reward from buying shares of " Preferred Stock"? Risky or Smart? TIA!
Thanks! Preferred Stock might be like an unsecured loan? Buffet did a deal with BOA circa 2009 buying preferred stock,(for billions?) but we aren't Buffet, LOL!
I have a question with regards to shares of "Preferred Stock".
They seem to be similar to bonds but often carry a much higher yeild. Why? Do they carry hidden risks? Thanks in advance for any thoughts or comments!
Heard this today on Bloomberg Radio.

RE: Petrodallars
By their estimates, the amount of petrodollar investment between 2010 and 2014 was on a similar scale to the Federal Reserve's bond-buying program known as quantitative easing. As petrodollar flows reverse, they argue, the world has lost a hefty $400bn in annual demand for financial assets.

This site, IHUB tends to crash/lock up my computer. So I use my smart phone. Either my computer is bad OR it's time to find a new site/forum. With fewer folks spying on us.
She'll be speaking this P.M. 5:00ish?
Any thoughts on the recent price dip? Who's selling and why?
Right. October is also when the mutual fund industry close the fiscal year and do their tax lose selling.
"Bear" market rallies can be wicked! That's how the "Elephants" leave the room without being noticed.
IMHO, we are seeing a trend change. If so, it's time to lay low and reverse the strategy.
At this point I'm on the sidelines. My "guess" is we go back to 2012-2013 levels. (The 2000/2007 tops.) Not sure enough to short, LOL! Heard on Bloomberg that next year had a high probability of ushering in a global recession (Asia etc.) Canada is already there and the Fed is out of ammo! Probably why JPM is buying silver?
Mean while the economy at home seems to be doing just fine.
Also heard that the refugees trying to flood Europe are not just from Syria but from everywhere. What a mess!!!
The weeks not over yet and Friday concludes Quad-Witching. So.....
Yes.
Do you recall when? Were we at or near a top? BTW, made it to Jasper this summer, very nice!
Hard to remember when we've had such wild swings. Perhaps 2008-2009. I'd guess the PPT is working hard. That said, just who decided to exit on Monday??? And why?
Please keep up the good work!
Glen, how close was the volume on SPY to indicate a bottom? It was 316 million on Friday. TIA!
An amazing call! I just re-read it, he thinks "THE" top is in.
Longer term, the 10 year chart on XLE suggests a trip to around $60?
Should be PCP Precision Castparts. Not PCP.N
Are you suggesting that a bottoming of oil prices could trigger a short covering rally in the oilers which would propel the markets much higher?
Also note that the company Buffet just bought today (PCP.N)does a large amount of business with the oil services equipment machinery industry. That has caused PCP.N stock price to drop prior to Buffet's purchase.
I'm interested in CF. But have alot of questions. How will moving corporate head quarters over seas effect the dividend tax basis? Are there institutional investors who will be required to sell due to CF becoming a foreign company? Also seems to have a poor credit rating from Moodys. Thoughts?
dd, any thoughts on oil and the oilers? TIA!
GLENO, any updates on oil? Or the oil stocks such as XES. TIA!
North, 2500? Do you have enough faith in your system to be locked and loaded long?
Check out the p/c ratio intra day.

Assuming a rampo. Which index looks to have the longest legs, SPX or RUT?
Thanks!
Thanks. Good to know. Best to be prepared.
gtober, Wife and I are planning on a road trip to Alaska from Chicago in our pick-up truck camper next year. 3 month journey. Question is when to leave as per bug/mosquitoes seasons? Plan to go through Oregon & Washington, Idaho on one way either to or fro. Have been in northern Ontario/Michigan in June and got eaten alive. Is this also a problem in the Canadian Rockies Yukon etc? TIA!
Glen, any updates from the FLA guru since his prediction of 2200 for this burn? TIA!
Holiday weekend followed by short week and TOM tends to be bullish.
Well, the futures seem to be suggesting it's not an error.

Has anyone noticed the rather extreme CBOE intra-day volume p/c ratio?
