These companies are falling from the skies:
LodgeNet to File for Bankruptcy as Colony Takes Control

These systems will always exist (somehow) in the hospitality world. I had a recent visit with a few top execs and their development team for a major hotel chain -- they still envision the television (and the television systems) as an integral part for their room designs (5 year plan) for all areas of the world they serve.
However, they are very frustrated at the lack of innovation in the hospitality television industry -- so much so that they are looking into developing their own product to fit their vision (which is pretty impressive but technically doable!).
Even though TIVU offers a unique advertising component to its system (and appeals to some in the hospitality world, etc), it is not the game changer that everyone thinks it can be. It is clear to me that they are looking for something much more in terms of brand standards that integrates todays technology and "home" lifestyle -- with this, they can raise the rack rate and make money that way.
No... older competitors like Guest-tek, Roomlinx, etc.
LNET is hemorrhaging rooms daily.
Try using the "Forgot your password" thingy on this page?

You can only have 2 stickies. I stickied.
It didn't go through a well known PR source (like PRNewswire) so it won't show up in the news feed.

Looks like we won't be able to ask questions
Only iHub Admins can ban and unban people -- you can PM them but that's about it.
Maybe this is the PR? It would be mind blowing... in a bad way.
Yes -- previous quarter reported some revenue but this is slightly bigger.
They actually had to refile to correct some minor things (already) but it was posted on August 9th.
Actually it was released yesterday.
LOL -- oh jsteel
jsteel always makes my day. I might not agree with everything jsteel says but it does make me smile.
That is Albania's internet TV. Nothing to do with Tivus discussed here.
Marriott isn't giving Tivus a time slot to update the STBs (yet) so no time frame. No idea what resources means (assuming man power, time, money, etc).
Update: The core switch (the switches that connects all the existing switches) was replaced on June 28th by IBM. The previous dates was when they were switching out the existing switches (except the core switch).
Right now, the STB has to be updated (which is going to consume a lot of resources) before the final software update (new GUI) can be deployed.
I've been kinda out of the loop and the only news i've heard is via other people. I will try to touch base with him today and provide an update.
It's like saying Tom instead of Thomas.
Interesting....
EDIT: Did more DD and seems like he's not the only Shiva on the planet.

Yes I am sure.
Denny's doesn't exist in Manhattan and iHop is all the way in Harlem. :D
... FWIW, he was just staying at the location hence why the SH met him there (and I know the SH that met him there -- was supposed to join them).
Hyatt isn't looking at Tivus at this time. They're just focusing on deploying Roomlinx (a contract they just signed).
Grant Hyatt did just go through a $130m renovation and looks okay (they have a ventilation problem and terrible elevators though). They focused on the lobby, rooms, and their Regency Club. They have completed renovations and doesn't look like they are doing anything with Tivus as the Hyatt chain has signed with roomlinx (although I hear grumblings from that signing from my sources + most are at a wait and see attitude at this point).
Not sure why he would tweet about that.
You need insurance to install/do work at the hotels.
For example... In NYC, I usually require 5-10 million in insurance coverage for contractors (esp when they are doing major work) but most technology companies usually go for around 500k to 1 million for w/e reason.
He is definitely not there exhibiting. He may or may not be there as a visitor but I highly doubt it.
I don't have PM abilities but jwez should have and can give you my e-mail information.
Thanks!
I love socal in the winter. :)
