Not a good start to the day... I believe people are starting to get scared. The market is experiencing some drops – take a look at NFLX, Wow, down over 35% just today, over 75% down since July. Of course this concerns me since I have quite a few shares of PDOS. But you know the saying, “…you don’t lose any money until you sell your shares.”
Remember to look at the volume. If we were trading 10 – 20 million shares, and still coming down in price, then I would be concerned. PDOS can drop all the way down to $0.0001 and I still would not be worried.
Remember what happened several months ago… we jumped all the way up to 7 cents. I still must believe that PDOS has too much going for it for it to be a failure. I choose to write off any “paper” losses and believe that this stock will eventually recover.
In the meantime, I am going to buy myself a few thousand shares at this incredibly low low price. The ASK is incredibly low, currently under $0.006 PPS! Amazing!
Only time will tell…
I probably should follow my comments with, "...IMHO."
You could say I am biased. Would like to see my shares go up in price. I assume most everyone here would like to see PDOS do well. Please correct me if I am wrong...
PDOS4Life
...I say we can only go up from here. We may have reached the bottom of the barrel, and can only profit from here on in. I say buy now and watch your shares increase in value.
You can thank me later...

...wanted to make a comment about Cowboys & Aliens as it relates to Platinum Studios (PDOS). The fact that it cost over $160 million to produce and has taken in world-wide over $100 million domestic and over $65 million foreign (IMDB-Pro states over $200 million total), is good news for us. Here is why:
Platinum Studios does not really need to worry about recouping costs -- it does not hurt us financially directly. Now indirectly is another story since if the production companies deem C&A as profitable, they will make a sequel, which would mean more advertising dollars for Platinum. If the movie production companies were smart, they would start filming C&A parts 2 and 3 which would reduce the costs of making the film by half. They could then have a total budget of approx. $200 million and still make a pretty penny. If the take is $200 million per movie, that means a return of $400 million on the $200 million investment. The take should be even higher because all the people that saw the original movie would return to see it again as well as renewed interest by those that did not see the movie when it first aired. Win-Win all around.
Just some thoughts before I start watching the Jets game...

kimble, I believe that we are all wondering why there is not more communication between the CEO and us shareholders. But for us that are holding quite a large amount of PDOS, and buying at prices as high as 7 cents, every bit of negative info posted here, well it just hurts.
I understand you are trying to warn us all -- I suggest that you post your opinions and then provide proof to back up your claims. If you have bought many shares and are now holding at a loss, then it is your right to criticize. But if you are just criticizing to somehow "educate" the masses... well for shareholders like me, I think your negative posts may just scare people from buying or scare them into selling.
I cannot speak for everyone, and only you know what your agenda is but if the time comes where I need to be critical, I will be. We are just not there yet. Sub-penny land is not the place where I want to be, but I am holding long and anxious to see the next quarterly report.
PDOS4Life
Kimble, must you laugh after all your comments. Or is it that you cannot contain yourself and your lies are making you laugh too?
Good post derekwildestar. I too agree there will always be persons that:
Knowingly and
Intentionally
Mislead
Bullsh-t
Lie and
Exaggerate
...that is par for the course. I am long on PDOS, regardless of the few folks that consistently post negative comments.
PDOS4Life
Good info, but they are just Market Makers -- not the ones that have the shares and are deciding to sell at this low price. Aren't they just following the desires of the shareholders? Someone out there that deems PDOS is a good sell at sub-penny prices.
Maybe there are a few folks out there that believe PDOS will drop further and they can then make money buying back at a lower price? Anyway, still no vloume and now another seller at sub-penny prices...frustrating...
...I should probably not look at this stock on daily basis.
PDOS4Life
It would be nice to see the Ask stay the way it is pre-open. We could see some huge gains if only we all kept our shares and did not sell for the time being. This would most likely keep the current volume really low, but at least whenever there was any volume it would guarantee the price would go up. Let's see what today (post NY Comic Con 2011) brings...
PDOS4Life
-----------------------
Why aren’t we talking about the next movie Unique or Atlantis Rising?
-----------------------
...I think no one is speaking about upcoming movie projects like Unique and Atlantis Rising because they are so far off in the future. Great news of course, but not on anyone's immediate radar because at this point in time I don't think it has much of an effect on the PPS.
Our major issue, if we can call it that, is that Platinum Studios is not very well known. Take Netflix (NFLX) for instance, everyone knows about how they have lost so much of their share price. Take Green Mountain Coffee Roasters (GMCR), and everyone knows about their single-serve coffee business. PDOS on the other hand, I heard about it thru my brother when it was spiking into the 6 – 7 cents range. If it were not for my brother I would never have heard about PDOS.
So how do we become part of the public’s conscious? I think we are going in the right direction:
- Movie projects
- Comic book database of over 5,000 characters
- Partnerships with good companies that produce quality products (e.g., Panelfly)
- Paying off our debt (hopefully)
- Having a CEO that is visible in a good way (Comic Con 2011 is a start)
My next job may take me overseas – curious to see if PDOS and Platinum Studios are known over there. I may be going to Korea where I believe anime is king, or maybe I am thinking of Japan.
Have a good weekend, and thank you for your opinions and thoughts here. Sure I am in the red, but look at all this conversation I am experiencing. Can’t put a price on that…
PDOS 4Life
...our partnership with Panelfly, does it include profits made from Panelfly or does the partnership just mean we are using their interace to display our comics? Anyone know? Regardless, another good move by our CEO Scott Mitchell Rosenberg.
I bought another 10,000 shares on Friday. Feels good to be able to add at such low prices. Even though I am still in the red, it is a great feeling to know that investing at this price is almost a guarantee to earn profits. I doubt PDOS can lose much more on its price per share (PPS), so it really is a great investment. We have been staying at the $0.008 price for several weeks now. All we need is one or two really positive PRs followed by a good quarterly report.

You are right MrMojoRising. I was looking at the after hours trade that occured right after close.
I have averaged down to $0.02565. I too cannot wait until it hits the 7 cents range and higher.
Well, we closed at $0.0085. Seems like we are holding at the $0.008 range. Let us see where we go from here...
PDOS4Life
Can you give us a hint?!!
When you have low volume, the price can fluctuate greatly. Of course I would like to see us at the 7 cents range, but I cannot allow myself to worry even when it hits these sub-penny values. We all know what Platinum Studios is about and I for one am looking forward to the next few months. Buy now and average down.

winboy01, this is a great post! The new partnership with Panelfly will bring all of the Platinum Studios content to the consumer using the latest and greatest user interface.
On a separate note, check out the new homescreen on Platinum Studios web site!

As the holiday season approaches, one can't help feel the anticipation of something really good about to happen for Platinum Studios. All these PRs will bring more attention to PDOS and with more attention, maybe more daily trading volume. Sometimes it is hard to believe that PDOS is just a penny stock. It acts like a major player (e.g., Marvel, DC Comics, etc.). The best is yet to come.
We shall see...

...no comment on your opinion. I am sure you have done your due diligence (DD) and that is how you have come to the realization that Scott's salary ($550K annual) is too high.
I on the other hand, chose to post this info, that I pulled off Forbes.com, to educate the shareholders so they have a bit more info about PDOS and its CEO.
I welcome all comments, even negative ones such as you chose to post. $550,000 to run a company as its CEO is a pittance. He is acutally receiving a very low salary.

Scott Rosenberg has been our Chairman and Chief Executive Officer since September 15, 2006 and Mr. Rosenberg served as the Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Platinum Studios, LLC, our predecessor, since November 1996. Mr. Rosenberg established Platinum Studios, LLC in 1996 following a successful, high-profile career in the comic book industry. As founder and head of Malibu Comics, Rosenberg produced the Men In Black comic book, which he took to Sony to become a billion-dollar film franchise. At Malibu, Rosenberg developed an innovative grass-roots marketing approach, reaching out directly to fans, retailers, and press to allow Malibu to be distributed alongside top industry players at a fraction of what the major companies spent, notably, in the pre-Internet age, without the opportunities and advantages provided by the web. Malibu’s marketing savvy and ability to create and develop new characters and new ideas led to a fierce bidding war to acquire the company, and in 1994 Malibu was bought by Marvel Comics. If you truly believe that it is a POS, then who am I to try and change your mind. I, on the other hand, choose to believe it is a stock that will rise again... I had the misfortune of buying when it was at 6 cents. Luckily I have been able to average down to under 3 cents now. My bad, for buying when I did. I heard the hype and bought late.
But does that mean it is a piece of sh*t? No, it is a penny stock that does not have much volume. Simple as that. But if you read between the lines, I don't know about you, but I like what I see.

JuneLake,
If that person did know something, why is he not matching the Ask price so he can guarantee his shares? I think it is someone that believes PDOS will start gaining soon, but stlll has visions of sugarplums dancing in his head of getting PDOS shares at $0.008. Good Morning PDOS Shareholders...wanted to paste this excerpt from the Platinum Studios web site:
As Platinum content stretches from comics to television to cell phones, they are constantly generating new art and assets for their properties at a breakneck pace. And because of their determination to see all of their content adapted in every form possible, news about Platinum breaks regularly. Platinum Studios (OTCBB: PDOS) is an entertainment company that controls one of the largest international libraries of comic book characters from all over the world, which it adapts, produces and licenses for all forms of media including print, film, online, mobile / wireless, gaming, and merchandising.

Sounds promising -- if I was employed, I would buy more shares. Just recently went on a leave of absence -- searching for a Systems Engineer position within my company.
Once I land my next job, I will be sure to buy more shares so I can continue averaging down.

Platinum Studios NIGHTFALL
The web site was saying Scott Brown, the writer for the Platinum Studios graphic novel "Nightfall," would like to see Samuel L. Jackson as the warden in the movie adaptation. Heck, I would like to see Vin Diesel in the lead role of David Paxton. He is the man sent to a Texas prison that's secretly run by vampires.
Wow, this movie would so kick @ss if Vin Diesel was in it!

OK now -- here we go. Scott Mitchell is starting to get his name out there. I know someone here already posted a link to vote for these Spike Scream Awards, but now the PR is coming straight from Platinum Studios. Better get your shares now while they are cheap (sub-penny).
If PPS does not start climbing next week, I will eat my hat (NY Yankees ball cap).

...penny stock, penny stock, penny stock. There is really no set way to figure penny stocks out. Not many people buy penny stocks to hold long. Then again, not many people make tons of money when the penny stock they invest in climbs thru the roof!
If I had to do this over, I would have done much more research on this. My brother (yep, the infamous brother) gave me a hot tip -- he read on some web site that PDOS was the new hot stock. I bought that day and it continued to climb throughout the day. Unfortunately, it started dropping right after that. It did climb again, right before C&A came out, but then it dropped again.
I would have sold in the 5+ cents range... and then bought back right now. I did not do that, but was able to average down to a PPS of $0.02565.
I stopped trying to figure this out. Someone said if we are LONG on PDOS, why do we come here every day to see where PDOS is at? I guess it is fun to speak with other shareholders...
I am still:

Well another trading day starts with the MMs selling PDOS for sub-penny prices. I guess there are investors that want to make a quick dollar. Would it not be great if all PDOS shareholders finally just said, "We are not selling PDOS until next year!" Can you imagine how high the stock would go?!!! We would be back at 52-week highs in no time at all.
I am holding long...nothing has changed.

Victorystocks uses some sort of algorithm where no matter what penny stock you type in the search, it comes up with some eye-catching advertisement. Would not pay any attention to it; just a marketing tool.
PDOS 4Life
kimble, I am sure you have heard this before -- but you remind me of a bad toothache that just won't go away. I guess I will continue to sing the praises of PDOS and you will continue to bash it. Maybe together we will even out the playing field.
Would you say that PDOS is a good buy at this sub-penny price? Or do you think that it still is going to drop further? Of course it is just your opinion and you know that there will be others here that will say the opposite and will choose to focus on the positive side of the house.
Have your fun now -- while PDOS is wallowing in this sub-penny land. But I hope you sing their praises when PDOS climbs up and up, back to the 7 cents range and beyond.
PDOS 4Life
Yes that was me... and I heard a mouthful from my brother when I posted what he said. I learned not to post hearsay anymore.
You can look at all my posts and you will see that I am a shareholder that wants PDOS to do well, but I have posted opinions that were not all so rosey. In the long run I want PDOS to do well so that all us sharehoder will reap the rewards.

WooHoo, a very nice PR using our CEOs name! Look for Platinum Studios (PDOS) to jump during Thursday trading, on this pending news (IMHO). We may not be getting any direct revenues from the BLU-Ray and DVD sales, but we WILL be getting a tremendous amount of publicity and exposure that should directly translate into merchandise money$$$!!!
