It is news to me, but no surprise, that Bourque and the Pima County Sheriff butt heads. The sheriff is a first rate a$$ clown, that misrepresents the people of Tucson and Pima County. Look at the coverage of the Giffords Shooting. The sheriff used his position to spew his nonsense political garbage at the worst possible time. Not to mention, that he did not mention that his deputies had been on multiple incidents with the shooter for other reasons in the past. He just forgot to mention that.
Does anyone recall the PIMA SWAT shooting that killed a former marine with something like 70+ shots fired? No arrests, or anything have come from it except a youtube video showing a cluster of an entry done by the swat team. Why couldn't they wait to arrest him until after he left the house, instead of killing him in front of his family.
But on to the point. Just because Bourque and PCSO's head don't get along, doesn't mean anything necessarily. In fact, I think it is a positive thing that they don't get along because it more highly defines and articulates the character of Bourque, who happens to be running this armor company we have invested in.
Yes, I think a good buying opportunity. With markets on the whole taking a beating in the last few days/weeks, some may be taking profits across the board on all their stocks or even getting out completely until the drop stops. Good for the people only focused on BORK right now, as it drops t.e price for a reason not even connected to BORK
It was traded on the bid. Price drops from 3.53 to 3.19 and then a 33k order gets fulfilled on the bid......
Anyone else see the 33k order for BORK right after the big drop in pps?
First, I think the hiring of personel for BORK is a good sign, but don't over estimate it. People get furloughed or fired all the time too.
Second,
rchi - going to have to disagree with you, as I like hearing both sides of the story, not just the BORK longs (I am one also) doing a circle jerk. MDRTS bring valid point, questions and concerns. Just because he is not always promoting and pumping BORK news, doesn't mean he needs to be removed from the board.
Does your post have a point other than to slight MDRTS?
I think when BORK gets the NIJ cert. you will see a bump up in the share price. This is the first time BORK has let a test of it's armor be held without actually being there and dictating what will be shot at the armor plate. Not to mention this is for the official cert.
To my knowledge, BORK has not previously given away armor plates for others to test without BORK being there. So this in a way is one of the first outside validations of the armor.
Bama2, that kind of info is what I have been wanting from the very beginning. With those specifics, there would be no doubt about the viability and profitability of Kryron. Even with these recent press releases, while encouraging, they do not go into the nitty gritty specifics, which in my opinion, is required before Kryron/BORK can really take off.
I am guessing that these specifics have now been compiled by the military from the multiple demos, but we will never see the data.
Correct me if I am wrong, but I from what I remember is that they measure the G-forces on the helmet/head/neck when dealing with helmet impacts. Thick pads are placed on the inside, to soften the G-force, as well as spread it out over the entire head instead of a small area. Combined with a suspension system, a lethal impact g-force wise, can be reduced to a survivable level. And like mentioned before, chances are the shot won't be from point blank which will also reduce the impact force.
Bullet Details Just found!
http://globalplatinumonline.com/Docs/JBIT_Letter%20_2.pdf
Just found this letter from years ago regarding bork's kryron. Gave me a little more info on the types of bullets, size of plates, weight and speed of bullets, etc. Thought you guys might want to see it if you haven't already.
It seemed to me that the price was held down and even lowered today because of large numbers of previously restricted shares being sold. It appeared that most transactions were in large share quantities.
I would have liked to see it added as an addition and not a total deletion. I think the links and information that was there was very helpful.
This is the most steady I have seen the share price in a while...
How can you tell how many shares have been shorted?
I welcome all the comments. Positive and negtive.
I would rather have a good mix than have all the posts be a positive bork lovefest.
I too earlier was asking some tough questions that have yet to be answered. I learned that no one that posts here knows, or is allowed to say the answers. Waterboy came close by actually going to a demo.
I also purchased more.
Waterboy 41,
At the test, could you see if they would be willing to shoot it with 7.62 x 51 ammo (also known as .308) multiple times - or some other larger caliber?
Try and get as many details about what caliber and types of ammo they are shooting. Caliber, velocity, guns fired from, the grains of bullet fired.
Basically try and write down any details you can regarding anything to do with the ammo/guns. This would greatly help us compare it with stuff in current use. Also, try and get some dimension and weights of the plates.
Thanks and good luck. Hopefully we get some useful stuff, unlike most of the other shoots. You wouldn't happen to have a video camera would you? :)
Like thermal insulation hopefully? Because it won't work as an electrical insulator. How good are metals as insulators typically?
The cost of the kryron compared to copper is a very important detail that we should know. Unfortunately, like the armor, I doubt we are going to find out crucial details anytime soon.
Yes it will better than copper, but the cost compared to copper will determine it's success in the market.
Correct me if I am wrong, but moving to a major exchange will require disclosure of some amount of company financials?
Thanks George. Glad to know I am not the only one. Most people here, but not all, do not seem to know much at all about the armor and even less about the bullet/firearms the armor is supposed to defeat.
I have realized that most people here are just putting more faith into what they don't know/understand than I am used to or willing to do. Or they know more but are not willing/allowed to share it.
My perspective is that this more of a speculation/gamble than an investment until we are allowed to know a little more about the armor and or company financials. I am willing to wait for it...
And to whoever thought I wanted this information so I could wear the armor....you are mistaken. I wanted the info purely for research into how well the plates can be expected to sell.
Thanks for the stock market lesson.
I wouldn't call those stats trade secrets because in order to attract customers, they will have to be published. I could see parts of the manufacturing process / design being trade secrets, but not the end result. Who wants to wear body armor that doesn't specify what exactly it can stop bullet wise? I can understand not releasing them quite yet for business purposes.
You hit the nail on the head by the way when you mentioned gambling...
Edit: Here is a link for some competitors information. Maybe after reeding it can understand where I am coming from.
If secrecy is the reason we have so very few concrete details about the armor, that is completely understandable from a business perspective.
It seems a little crazy to me that soo many people are telling me to just believe in this stock, and the details and proof are out there, when they are really not.
Please realize I don't mean to make anyone mad and I a certainly not saying anyone is lying. I am just looking for some cold hard facts with the necessary details. OK here we go:
"This armor can take a .50 cal"
Thanks for the comment but me as an investor, want more details. What grain 50 cal, what velocity, what range, etc. Your comment is like me saying concrete is an amazing armor, can take 100 50 cal hits. Details are need to evaluate, like thickness, weight, areal mass, etc. Until details come out, it is heresay or speculation and we have to put blind trust in Bourque.
"Sideshow, How about the plate is stopping multiple 50 cal rounds. The plate is much lighter then the current plates used with the military. more specs are in these posts. Read on."
I read every single post and nowhere does it say the exact weights of these plates, let alone whether they are talking vehicle armor plates or body armor plates. The devil is in the details.
"The weight of the material depends on the stopping power needed. It's all in the patent... 3/16 up to 1", depending on the need. No need to go thicker than 1", because at that thickness, it can stop a torpedo."
Are you telling me that the patent has all the stats regarding rifle fire vs varying thicknesses of the plates? I don't think so. I understand the weight varies with the protection needed, but until we get specifics, for example: the weight and thickness of a chest plate that will stop multiple 7.62x51 rounds: there is no way to accurately compare it to what is on the market currently. If we can't compare it, we can't rate how well it will sell. But if you are telling me the patent says that 1" of Kryron will stop a .50 cal round traveling at 3,000 fps, then I am going to go read it right now. However I have a feeling it doesnt say that.
Don't get me wrong, as an investor I am enjoying the rising stock price as much as everyone else. However, there seems to be a large number of people positive about this stock with nothing to back them up other than "it can stop 50 cal rounds, it took 60 hits from the police rifle, they sent it off for certification, etc"
Oh and this:
"Really not to be mean but where have you been pretty much every thing on this site is true I dont post anymore because I know more than most and know we dont need to be spreading tje word About kryon all the pieces to the puzzle are in place and there about to be fit together I'm telling ya if you dont have this stock already then us beyer hurry cause if ypu think 4 bucks is a lot by the end of july no average person is gonna be able to afford more then 20 shares of this stuff. The average plates are writing about two pounds the the ap stuff is a little heavy just because the material to displace the impact of the bullet the ones you see in the demos are about six pounds but as yoy can read in earlier post they are far beyer then ceramic and the actual bullet stopping metal in these plates is less than half an inch thick and it stopping ap rounds and as far as I understand its the same plate that stopped a.50 cal round so get some stock and diot back like the rest of us"
See where I am going with this? There are so many different AP rounds....you read in a previous post....as far as you understand. Come on. All I want is facts about Kryron to make an informed decision, and there were none in the above paragraph. I can't be the only one wanting just a little shred of evidence.
I have looked all around, if I missed something please point me too it. The military has a system of rating armor and the "good stuff" get classified. There system of rating involves the numbers I am looking for, areal density and mass efficiency ratio. These numbers tell them how "good, efficient, etc" the armor is compared to steel as well as all current armor. It is a way to compare different armors, apples to apples so to say. If we were to learn the numbers then we would pretty much be able to figure out how bad the military is going to want this.
Sure the youtube video shows 60+ bullets being fired into a single plate. But it doesn't say what bullet type, caliber, or muzzle velocity. Without those things, we cannot really determine how good this armor is. All we know from that is that the armor can take multiple hits from whatever caliber and type of ammo the police officer shooting it was using. My guess was that it was 60 rounds of 5.56x45 FMJ. Do we know if the armor will stop 60 rounds of all types of 7.62x51?
I guess I am saying that we don't have much technical details. Maybe that's on purpose for now. But until we do have the specifics, its all but impossible to truly understand the armor.
Does anyone have any definite information regarding the Kryron body armor plates? What I am looking for is areal density and mass efficiency ratio.
Also it wouldn't hurt to find out what caliber, type and speed of bullets are being fired in the videos of the testings. Also what is the plates exact weight?
Without information like this, it's almost impossible to determine the effectiveness of the armor, let alone compare it in an apples to apples comparison to currently used plates. If we cannot compare it to whats currently on the market scientifically (without using generic terms like armor piercing ammo [specifically what ammo], high power rifle shots [what caliber and what muzzle velocity]) then it makes it much harder to make an informed decision.
