Rock 2 Live Gaining Wide Support of National Day of Awareness Concerts to Benefit Schools
Las Vegas, NV (PRWEB) April 28, 2012
Global Maximus Productions announced today that the 'Rock 2 Live' Music Festival, which was rescheduled to occur in the fall will announce a new date in the upcoming week.
The event was rescheduled in order to allow more schools to participate, Global Maximus also plans to announce additional performers to the fully hosted show in the upcoming days.
The event originally scheduled for April 28th was rescheduled by the producers of the show last week due to a number of schools not having the time to participate. The response to the students nationally as well as Global has been nothing short of amazing.
The rescheduling provided ample time for all schools to properly prepare to participate and for the producers to assure that as many student households were able to receive their free version of PhoneGuard safety products for taking the pledge to stop texting and driving.
The rescheduling also provided the producers with a chance to add to the bill additional major artists supportive of the peer to peer cause who originally were asked to join the student lead movement who's schedules did not allow for participation on April 28th.
"The music community has been amazing in their support of these young adults and schools, our respect for these artists has been raised beyond measure and their selflessness is well appreciated. Each artists has reached beyond the norm in their willingness in making sure the attention is given to the real message, saving lives. These artists will for sure be seen in an extreme positive to this audience of millions of young adults and adult supporters around the world" states Randall James, CEO of Global Maximus
The producers plan to make announcement in the upcoming week as to a new date and time for the event. One thing is certain, the students have the attention of the world even beyond the United States. The producers ask that all citizens support the cause and remember to not text and drive and in doing so, the American youth will have won the war of delivering the message.

Rock2Live Fest in Boca Raton postponed
Organizers need more time to get more schools on board

Tenth-graders Ross Brenner, left and Dalton Holody of Spanish River High in Boca Raton, have organized a music festival at FAU on 4/28 with the theme of discouraging kids from texting and driving. (Carline Jean, Sun Sentinel / April 20, 2012)

Organizers of the Rock2Live Fest, a widely publicized concert in Boca Raton to discourage texting and driving, have postponed the event until the fall, they said on Thursday.
Festival organizers said they realized a larger number of schools could earn much-needed money from the concert if there was more time to get the word out. The festival, the brainchild of two students from Spanish River High School, had offered to share with schools the fees from pay-per-view subscriptions for the concert. Although schools have had the information for several months, they only began to respond in the past few weeks due to marketing glitches, Spanish River Principal William Latson said.
In the last few weeks, schools had sold more than $3 million in subscriptions, earning as much as 50 percent of the profits. Promoters decided to give more schools a chance to participate, Latson said.
Several nationally known music acts had agreed to perform, including Flo Rida, One Republic and Kelly Rowland.
Many people who were to participate, including student organizers Ross Brenner and Dalton Holody, were "crushed," Latson said. But the event, originally scheduled for Saturday at Florida Atlantic University, has the potential to make a lot of money for schools that desperately need it, Latson said.
"Actually this was a good decision, considering the late-developing groundswell, and short amount of time left," Mark Brenner, father of Ross, said in an email. "The boys can make an even larger impact if we have a few more weeks."
The boys posted a video message on YouTube to announce the cancellation.
The festival started out as a program for Spanish River students on the school grounds, but Brenner said enthusiasm became so widespread they moved to FAU's new stadium. It would have been the first concert in the new venue.
The event was set to include simulators where drivers could try to steer on a track as they held a phone and experienced the consequences, such as a mock crash. Several safety organizations were to have booths.
Participants could get a free download of Phone Guard, an app that prevents texting or Web surfing while driving.

Looks like the concert will be going on this fall. The way I look at it is that they now have enough time to properly promote this thing. Everything seemed so hurried prior to this spring concert that didnt happen. Here is a link I just found about the fall concert: http://www.digitaljournal.com/pr/680208

This has been a real bad day here....but we still have a product and we still have a future. This appeared today in pcworld: http://www.pcworld.com/article/254410/car_tech_the_ultimate_backseat_driver.html Car Tech: The Ultimate Backseat Driver
Nodding off, drifting between lanes, or just too drunk to drive? Sensors in new automobiles aim to detect trouble before you crash.
By Mark Sullivan, PCWorld Apr 24, 2012 9:00 pm
Driving may be the most hazardous thing we do every day. Combine the activity's inherent dangerousness with error-prone human drivers who are increasingly distracted by things like smartphones, and it's no surprise that the crash statistics keep going up.
But automotive safety and convenience technology is advancing by leaps and bounds. The latest crop of smart features can correct veering steering, sense and alert a drowsy driver, and even wrest the driving from human control altogether. In addition, several fantastic apps promise to make our time behind the wheel much easier and safer.
But with all this new tech looking over our shoulder, is driving still fun? Is it the free-wheeling, self-determined, all-American high-speed kick that it used to be?
Between the White Lines
Normally, the person driving the car is responsible for keeping it between the white lines on the roadway. But today's passive and active lane-assist technology can do that job for you.The passive systems feature a camera to monitor the road's lines, a computer to analyze the images, and a combination of audio information, visual data, and steering wheel vibrations to warn the driver when the vehicle starts drifting. Active lane-assist systems take it to the next level, using automatic braking to slow you down or steering torque to point you in the right direction. Some vehicles use just one type of system; high-end models may use both passive and active systems.
Digital Nagging for Drowsy Driving
Though common sense tells you not to drive when you're tired, plenty of groggy drivers venture out onto America's thoroughfares anyway. Mercedes-Benz's Attention Assist system combats drowsiness and distraction by warning the driver when it detects abnormal steering.
Using a steering sensor and special software, Attention Assist measures 70-plus parameters of driving behavior during the first few minutes of operation, from which it establishes a unique driver profile. It then refers to this profile at speeds between 50 and 112 mph to identify a drowsy driver's erratic steering correction. When the driver starts to exhibit certain behaviors associated with drowsiness, an audible warning sounds, and a visual warning illuminates.
Keep Those Thumbs on the Wheel
Driving While Texting (DWT?) has caused thousands of deaths on America's highways. But a wave of new technologies may help us stop the carnage.
The 2010-up Ford Sync's Audible Text Messaging feature offers hands-free text reading and replying. The driver's phone syncs via Bluetooth, and alerts the driver when new texts arrive. Sync will read texts out loud through the vehicle's speakers, and the driver can send preset or customized responses without taking a finger off of the steering wheel. At this writing, however, Audible Text Messaging is compatible with only a handful of phones, so you might be better off downloading a freestanding voice recognition app from the App Store or from Google Play.
Put the Smartphone Down
Whether you're texting, emailing, or surfing the Web behind the wheel, distracted driving increases your chances of having an accident. And if your sexy smartphone is simply too tempting to leave alone, apps such as PhoneGuard will gladly disable it for you.
PhoneGuard uses GPS tracking to monitor your vehicle's speed. Once you reach 10 mph, PhoneGuard locks your phone's keyboard and suspends the phone's text, email, and Web functions. The app responds to incoming texts via Text Block with Auto Reply. The PhoneGuard Premium upgrade, which starts at $20 a year, adds many other features.
The regular PhoneGuard app is free and available through Google Play for Android, through App World for BlackBerry, and through the App Store for iPhone.
Booze Breath in the Car
An ignition interlock device prevents an alcohol-impaired person from adding to the United States' annual toll of 10,000-plus drunk-driving fatalities.
Ignition interlock installations such as Smart Start's SSI-20/20 may be attached to an offender's car following a DWI conviction and subsequent court order. Such systems connect to the on-board computer system via a wire through the car's ignition and require the driver to pass a breath-analysis test before the vehicle will operate.
With the ignition turned on, the unit initializes. The test taker then blows into the mouthpiece. Inside the unit, an alcohol-specific fuel cell sensor and a breath sampling system analyze the alcohol level in the subject's breath. If it falls below a predetermined allowable limit, the display will show 'PASS' and the vehicle can be started. If the person's level is close to the limit, 'WARN' will appear but the vehicle will still start. But if 'FAIL', 'VIOLATION', or 'ABORT' appear, the vehicle will remain disabled until the driver passes a follow-up test.
I have been gone all day and just read the PR. Do we have a chance for anything good at all or is this just another stinky penny stock? I would appreciate the longs here for feedback. Reverse split in the future? I don't get why this sunk so much today. Just everyone giving up and leaving? It seems that every penny stock I buy sounds so great and then.....something like this happens. Is there any legit penny stocks out there? Thanks in advance and sorry to everyone else that lost money like me.
Here is another one....GO OPMG!!!

To raise awareness of the teen death rate while texting and driving, involved teens planned the Rock 2 Live Music Festival, taking place on April 28th at Florida Atlantic University’s brand new stadium. The concert and the broadcast of the event through a revolutionary live streaming interface will help the message of responsible texting reach a national audience. In doing so, the campaign hopes to reach an audience of millions.
The Rock 2 Live Music Festival has attracted some A-List talent including: Artist, Flo Rida; Grammy Award winning artist Kelly Rowland, Grammy nominated OneRepublic; red hot country act BadHorse; Canadian alternative band Surface Rising; Pop Rock singer/songwriter Jessica Dawn; and others still to be announced. Tickets for the 30,000 person festival are on sale available on www.Ticketmaster.com.
All artists invited were selected bystudent requests and made possible by Global Maximus Productions. The students felt it was important to enlist major caliber artists in order to get their message out to the largest possible audience.
Spanish River High School students said enough is enough when it comes to the teen death rate while texting and driving. Spanish River, located in Boca Raton, Florida is the anchor high school responsible for cultivating a grassroots, student-to-student movement that is involving schools from all over the country.
In addition to the in-person concert event, a pioneering streaming broadcast and interactive event, designed by Gotham Media Services, will carry the concert to a live audience all over the country. “E-Tickets” for this live streaming event will be available via TicketThe Spanish River Student Leadership, led by event founder Ross Brenner, President of the Sophomore Class, and Dalton Holody, Vice President, are proud to announce the collaboration of several major music recording artists who have agreed to lend their support to the national base of students in middle, junior, and high schools across the country. The event will take place April 28, 2012, on the campus of Florida Atlantic University in the new state-of-the-art 30k seat stadium just opened in October 2011.
As part of their national outreach project, the Spanish River Student Leadership Council, led by Ross Brenner, reached out to politicians, educators, responsible texting organizations and companies in order to create a coalition of supporters to help carry the message of safe driving to their communities.Preceding the music festival, a Public Awareness Market will be held outside of FAU’s stadium. The family-oriented market will include booths staffed by responsible texting advocates and will include distracted driving simulators and an opportunity for people to “take The Pledge” to not drive while distracted. Admission to the Public Awareness Market is free and open to the public, starting at 2:00 p.m., on April 28th.
Life-like Online Streaming The event which will stream “Live” to a national audience, will encourage the audience to take part in the awareness campaign and experience the events and concert. A next-generation content delivery network, powered by Gotham Media Services, Inc. will provide viewers with an incredibly crisp, lag-free viewing experience on their computer, tablet, or mobile device.
“All of us have been, or very likely will be, touched by the tragic death of people close to us killed by distracted driving or while texting,” states Dwaine Rivers, Executive Producer of the event. “This historic event was brought to the national front by teens reaching out to other teens that are tired of seeing their friends die, and this event will bring awareness to a new level on this deadly subject,” Rivers concludes.Global Maximus Productions has agreed to support the production of the event annually through 2016, with plans to designate the third Saturday in March each year to represent the National Day of Awareness Against Texting & Driving.
Major props to Kelly and Flo for supporting the highschool’s cause!

Every driver can recognize fellow drivers who are texting: They swerve, zig-zag, stop short or fail to move when the light turns green. But getting Florida drivers to stop texting has proven a difficult challenge. The Legislature was unable to pass a bill last session, even though polls show 71 percent of voters support a ban.

Some student organizers from Boca Raton hope simulators, a free cellphone app and celebrity endorsements can get a serious discussion going about ways to solve the problem of distracted driving. They have organized the Rock2Live Music Festival at Florida Atlantic University on April 28, the National Day of Awareness to Not Text and Drive.
Graphic video: Report: Woman charged after driving into Publix
Ross Brenner and Dalton Holody, juniors at Spanish River High School, created the day as an initiative of Spanish River's student leadership. They have contacted schools across the country, and expect many to tune in to a simulcast of the festival.
Distracted drivers have deeply affected both teens, who said they almost had second thoughts about learning to drive.
"We both got our licenses recently and have both had close calls," Brenner said. "We see so many people not paying attention."
The festival started out as a program for Spanish River students on the school grounds, but Brenner said enthusiasm became so widespread that organizers moved to FAU's new stadium. It will be the first concert in the new venue.
The festival will include simulators where drivers can try to steer on a track as they hold a phone in their hands and experience the consequences, such as a mock crash. Several safety groups and organizations will have booths, including the Florida Highway Patrol, AAA and insurance companies.
Participants will be able to get a free download of PhoneGuard, an app that prevents texting or Web surfing while driving. The $19.99 app detects when a car is moving faster than 10 mph. It locks the phone keyboard and sends an automatic response to someone tryong to text or mail, the recipient is unavailable. When the car stops, the phone becomes functional again.
Keith St. Clair, PhoneGuard chairman of the board, said he knows it's hard for many people to resist opening a text when they hear a phone alert as they're driving. But, he said, the app has three target markets: teenagers who are becoming aware of the dangers; their parents, who want their kids to be safe; and corporations that want their employees to drive accident-free.
Distracted driving — including texting, cell phones and other interferences — caused more than 3,000 crashes among 15- to 19-year-olds in Florida last year.
Although the festival targets high school students for their driving habits, the accident rate among Floridians 20-24 is even worse: They had almost 5,000 crashes in 2011.
Brenner hopes this awareness campaign among teenagers eventually will lower their crash rate as they get older.
"This problem is getting worse, no matter who you talk to, all over the world," Brenner said.

Bieber fever fails to spark sales at Boca Raton’s Options Media

Justin Bieber might sell millions of music downloads, but his marketing agreement with Boca Raton’s Options Media Group Holdings has yet to pump up sales for its PhoneGuard download.
Now, the company is hoping to turn up the sales volume by promoting a music festival in Boca Raton featuring some more pop stars.
In May, the penny stock company (Pink Sheets: OPMG) signed a deal for the teen pop star to endorse PhoneGuard, an application that prevents phones from texting and using other distracting functions while driving, in exchange for warrants to purchase 121.2 million shares of the company for 1 cent each. According to Options Media’s annual report, Bieber’s stock warrants were subsequently increased to 242.3 million shares and the price reduced to a half penny a share.
Bieber appeared in promotional videos for PhoneGuard and has done other marketing on its behalf. Yet, Options Media generated only $33,636 in revenue from PhoneGuard in 2011, and it lost $6.2 million on that operating segment, according to its annual report.
The company’s nearly $1 million in advertising expenses last year greatly surpassed its revenue from PhoneGuard. Options Media earns revenue from advertising on the free version of PhoneGuard and downloads of the premium version of the product.
Overall, Options Media lost $12.7 million on revenue of $530,156 in 2011 – with most of its revenue coming in the first half of the year from a direct internet marketing business that it has reduced its focus on.
Options Media announced a deal in January to acquire Illume Software, but that deal was canceled.
Despite losing money throughout 2011 and deferring the payment of some expenses, Options Media made it through the year by issuing stock and taking out loans, sometimes repaying those loans with stock warrants. Orlando Magic center Dwight Howard made a $100,000 loan to the company in 2011, and its annual report said he was repaid this year, plus he received 10 million stock warrants at 1 cent per share.
However, its annual report noted that, as of December 31, “we did not maintain effective controls over the financial reporting control environment. … Because of the limited size of its administrative support staff, and due to financial constraints on the company, management has not been able to develop or implement controls related to the segregation of duties for purposes of financial reporting.”
The company said it had about $75,000 in cash on April 9 and warned that its working capital is only enough to remain in business through the end of April, “without improvements in our cash flow from operations or new financing.”
Hoping to generate more sales, Options Media announced on Tuesday that it is coordinating the Rock 2 Live music festival, which will be held on April 28 at Florida Atlantic University Stadium in Boca Raton. The news release did not say whether the company was providing financial support for the show, but the event website listed it as a corporate supporter, non-sponsor.
“Since its inception, PhoneGuard has been working with Spanish River High School Sophomore Class President Ross Brenner and Vice President Dalton Holody for the past six months every step of the way, along with Global Maximus Productions,” Options Media stated in a news release. “The management team of PhoneGuard is serving as mentors, stakeholders and team members as this national phenomenon builds momentum.”
The concert is to feature rapper Flo Rida, singer Kelly Rowland, and bands One Republic, BadHorse and Surface Rising. Bieber told his followers on Twitter about the event, but he is not advertised to appear in person.
Safe driving initiatives will be supported at the concert. Free PhoneGuard downloads will be offered to the attendees. About 30,000 tickets are on sale.
“The event's impact creates an unlimited opportunity for product awareness, new distribution and significant revenue streams," Options Media CEO Scott Frohman stated in a news release.
Shares of Options Media traded at 0.38 of a cent on Tuesday morning. So Bieber’s 0.5-cent stock option warrants are underwater.
Hey Berdboy I just came home and can't believe all the posts today. I know we had a PR and already read that. Can you or anyone please give me a summary of today's events? Thanks in advance and GO OPMG !!!!
Found this article this morning: http://holidaytripper.com/florida-travel-guide/bieber-and-more-celebrities-support-growing-florida-student-initiative-for-responsible-texting/ The word is spreading! Good luck to all and GO OPMG!!!
Florida Travel Guide: Stars follow Bieber’s lead in supporting responsible texting
It all started in 2011 when Justin Bieber joined forces with PhoneGuard to send a message about responsible texting via the Drive Safe smart phone application. The growing student movement that started in Boca Raton is gaining momentum with the announcement of Rock2Live, supported by a A-list of stars that will be performing. It’s a cause that is increasing in awareness especially with celebrity support – the United States Department of Transportation has issued a report stating that more than 1,000 deaths in the U.S. are caused by texting while driving.
Justin Bieber & PhoneGuard
Back in 2011, Bieber worked with PhoneGuard and the Remember Alex Brown Foundation, including a series of PSA videos – watch one below. Bieber has made a commitment to heighten public awareness for responsible texting while driving and offer financial support to charities.
Justin Bieber’s Video
Imagine you’re driving down a street with your friends, texting, not watching the road and you don’t see Justin Bieber crossing – that’s enough to make you stop testing! Watch the following PSA, filmed to encourage teens to download PhoneGuard’s Drive safe. “You think you can take your eyes off the road for a few seconds, but you can’t,” says Bieber in this video.
A Growing Student Coalition
Students at Spanish River High School started a national outreach project in September 2011 with the hopes of forming a National Awareness Day against Texting and Driving. Members of the student leadership council, are stars in themselves for having reached out to a wide variety of supporters from politicians to responsible texting organizations to form a coalition to drive the message home. Their latest initiative is the Rock2Live concert.
Rock2Live
All artists that were invited to perform at the Rock2Live concert, were hand-selected by students with the hopes of reaching a large audience. They’ve even created a Public Awareness Market that starts at 2 pm. on April 28th outside of FAU’s stadium so that it’s free to the public. There will be distracted driving simulators, local food trucks and the encouragement to take the pledge to not drink and drive.
Tell us…
Do you text while driving?

Thanks Shadow! Well I'm sure we all will have a lot to talk about this weekend. Looking forward to seeing more media sights picking up the story and seeing this soon on one of the major networks as a morning show story or evening news story. Good luck to all and GO OPMG!!!!

I'm very happy that I was home today and had the chance to add more this morning. I'm nowhere's near what a lot of you others have as far as quantity, but I'm very happy with what I have and hope we only go up from here. Maybe some of you who posted that the company has been quiet because they are building a company were right on the money. They probably could care less about the soap opera daily drama that goes on here. They have been busy building, planning and now moving forward and introducing Phoneguard to the world. GLTA here and thanks for all your great DD!!! I think it won't be overnight but it will be moving a nice pace north from here! OPMG
Thats awesome! Thanks for sharing! Well how many followers does he have? I think this little concert just got a huge national exposure and more to follow! WOO-HOO......OPMG!!!
Whats going on? I still see us down? Are you seeing something heading north for us? I can only hope so! OPMG
250% ? What is going on here this morning?
Maybe im wrong, but there is two options when you click for tickets. You go to ticketmaster and they offer concert tickets and PPV tickets. Here is the link with both options. The ppv tickets lets you know they are just for watching and not attending. http://www.ticketmaster.com/Rock-To-Live-tickets/artist/1707937 I agree to another post that the website is great, but were the only ones that know about it. I hope we have a PR and we get national attention leading people to the Phoneguard website. I'm buying more this morning and hoping this is the last time before this explodes! GLTA and GO OPMG!!!
Knuckles this is the last post I will make about a Today show/Phoneguard from August 23, 2011. The original poster this morning just copied and pasted information about when it aired. He NEVER said it aired today once in anything he posted. Your post #72384 is the first mention of it airing today. That isn't true at all and I have asked you to tell me when it aired today because your the ONLY ONE who said it did air today. I like the truth and facts. If you look on the internet enough you probably can find secret meetings between BIGFOOT and President Obama! This aired August 23, 2011 and not today as you posted in #72384. Please stay to THE FACTS! Everyone else on this board knows it aired last year and if for some reason YOU saw it on NBC TODAY April 12, 2012 please tell me when and I will VERIFY for the board. Otherwise I will look at any post by you as potential Bigfoot/Pres. Obama stuff and will ignore them. Please understand, no hard feelings. GLTA GO OPMG !!!
I had my fiancee install it last night for first time. Yes my phone is so old (antique) flip phone it wouldn't work. She is very impressed with how it works. We set my phone as the administrator and if she drove over 65mph it would let me know. She drove to PA from NY this morning and I had 18 texts that she was over 65mph. Her phone wouldn't allow texting or anything while driving. This thing does work great and glad to finally see it in action after almost a year of owning stock here. Our time is coming soon!!! OPMG !!!
Please tell me what time the re-aired it Knuckles? I have the entire show this morning, started watching at 7:16am EST. If its in the first 16 minutes one of our board friends on the west coast can watch it in an hour. Please post factual information for us all. Thanks and GLTA and GO OPMG !!!
Just checked and it aired August 23, 2011 (when I was on vacation) http://twitter.com/#!/IHUB_2O/status/105988717520486400
Knuckles im sorry to say, but I'm on the east coast and have been watching the Today show for all but the first 16 minutes this morning and I didnt see it. I wish they would re-broadcast it, and they just might because of the upcoming concert/April awareness and because I emailed them on Monday or Tuesday about our company and concert. Please keep to the facts (i'm on your side by the way) if it aired, please tell me what time it aired. I have it all on DVR but first 16 minutes and I would be glad to report back to the board that it aired. GLTA and GO OPMG !!!
