I will have a few blog updates today: starting off with one related to the Sturgis super spreader event!
For some reason, this blog post update yesterday was hugely successful in getting 800+ unique visitors yesterday, almost doubling my traffic for the entire blog site in the last couple of weeks.
Hoping to drive traffic even more with the overnight updates and with South Dakota setting records last night for cases, there are a lot of updates. This is indeed a super spreader event!
Aug 11th:
A new blog to look at Super spreader events like the Sturgis rally (Meade county). I have taken a snapshot of what cases / deaths are as of last night in Meade & 4 nearby counties (Butte, Custer, Lawrence & Pennington).

Thanks! I appreciate that
On a mobile phone? That must be the data analytics site. It is still a work in progress. I am trying to make it more mobile friendly.
The blog should look good on a mobile display.
Here are some recent blog posts that I created about the spread of the virus:
I keep track of how many states (and what states) are breaking the cases and deaths record every day.
In addition I keep track of how many US counties are breaking the cases and deaths records every day. For cases it is between 100 and 170 in the last two weeks and for deaths it is between 20 and 50 for the last two weeks. For instance, yesterday 11 of the 49 were from Texas including Hidalgo and Dallas.
I also track how many countries have a 100% case growth compared to last week (22) or from two weeks ago (37)
Most of these countries are in South America and Africa (Southern Hemisphere). Many of these countries have broken their own records at least 10-15 times since their "winter" started on June 1st
Summary for this week:

I have just published 2 blog posts on what to expect in FL & AZ in the next few weeks. If you live in FL or AZ, you should read these blog posts
Based on what we saw in NY& NJ (and a whole lot of other factors mentioned in the posts), we are likely entering a period of about a month or so with sustained 200+ weekday deaths in FL & 100+ deaths a day in AZ (weekend numbers are much lower as they don't report numbers from a lot of areas)
Just one last update. There are a lot of enhancements for identifying counties / states / countries that set daily records for cases and deaths.
This data site will be updated constantly. I will be adding population information to be able to track the cases / million to figure out which states rank high in that regard (most likely AZ) and other info in the coming months.
So, please check it out Thanks.
The blog entries links you to the data site.

I am not going to be posting daily updates here. Just this one time to let you guys know that there will be daily updates
I appreciate your support. Through Google analytics, it shows me that 16 of you did see my blog and 13 of you did see my data analytics site. A lot of work has gone behind this, all done in my spare time. So, thanks for any feedback, even if it is bad feedback. The numbers are what it is there is no slant / bias in the numbers. It is the Johns Hopkins data!
New #COVID19 Blog entry for July 12th:
https://corona-virusblog.com/blog/july-12-2020-blog
Shows that 3 states had the highest number of cases for that day. AK (94), FL (15300), WA (1438). WA, OR had flattened the curve in April and now they have broken their previous highs this weekend
It shows that 112 counties had their highest number of cases for that day. That too on a weekend when not all areas report numbers to the counties. Many of these record setting counties are in FL, IL, GA, LA, MN, MS, NC, SC, TN, TX, WI. It is not surprising that we have 100+ counties a day setting records when we went exponentially from 20k cases daily to 70k cases daily in 3 weeks.
It also shows that 6 countries had their highest number of cases for that day. India appears on this list for the fourth successive day.
You can see the worst 25 affected counties are mostly counties from red states (it appears the blue states are filtered out, but they are not). There are at least 150 counties with a one week increase of 100% or greater.
https://corona-virus.dev/app/reports/cv_us/cvu_OneWeekCases
In the worst performing counties by percentage increase in cases this week over that from two weeks ago, again you will see that most at the top are counties from red states. There are at least 200 counties with a two week increase of 100% or greater.
https://corona-virus.dev/app/reports/cv_us/cvu_TwoWeekCases
In the worst performing countries by percentage increase in cases this week over last week, there are 15 countries with a one week increase of 100% or greater. There are 37 countries with a two week increase of 100% or greater.
https://corona-virus.dev/app/reports/cv_global/cvg_pattern
I have launched a new COVID-19 blog to go along with the COVID data analytics site. Together they show may new ways of analyzing Covid data and helps identify all the states / counties / countries where the virus is out of control and are setting daily records
https://corona-virusblog.com/
https://corona-virus.dev/app/reports/cv_overview
There will be a blog entry every day discussing the records that were broken that day and the stats that stand out for the day.
For example: July 11th blog entry
https://corona-virusblog.com/blog/july-11-2020-blog
Shows that 6 states had the highest number of cases for that day. AK (62), AR (1061), ID (577), OR (397), SC (2280), WI (926).
https://corona-virus.dev/app/reports/cv_us/cvu_RecordCasesStates
It also shows that 134 counties had their highest number of cases for that day. (many of them in FL, IL, GA, LA, MN, MS, NC, SC, TN, TX, WI) It is not surprising that we have 100+ counties a day setting records when we went exponentially from 20k cases daily to 70k cases daily in 3 weeks.
https://corona-virus.dev/app/reports/cv_us/cvu_RecordCasesCounties
It also shows that 10 countries had their highest number of cases for that day. India was one of the 10 with 28606 cases.
https://corona-virus.dev/app/reports/cv_global/cvg_RecordCasesCountries
As you can see from the stats that everything has gone exponential as is obvious from the charts here and from the weekly and two weekly cases on my COVID data analysis site. Counties where the cases have gone up 5,000% to 8,000% in two weeks.
https://corona-virus.dev/app/reports/cv_us/cvu_OneWeekCases
https://corona-virus.dev/app/reports/cv_us/cvu_TwoWeekCases
Likewise there are at least 16 countries where the cases weekly have gone up at least 100% compared to last week and 37 countries where the cases weekly have gone up at least 100% compared to two weeks ago
https://corona-virus.dev/app/reports/cv_global/cvg_pattern
Milestones page:

US States Pattern page:
https://corona-virus.dev/app/reports/cv_us/cvu_pattern
Please check out my new site that went live last weekend. Yes, there are plenty of sites to track the COVID cases and deaths like the WorldOMeters and the John Hopkins site.
My site offers more
Like trends in the 50 states and then within the counties within each state. It tracks the trends for the continent / countries too.
US States cases / deaths pattern
This site tracks the trends in cases and deaths week over week etc. This is a stunning new statistic today. 47 states have cases weekly that is higher compared to the previous week. The ones that had a decrease were Arkansas, Vermont and New York.
Global cases / deaths Milestones
My site shows how many days it took to reach 1 million cases worldwide (71), 2 million cases (13) and so on. Now we have reached 11 million cases, with the last million taking only 5 days.
It is constantly being enhanced. Please take a look at it and let me know what you guys think. Sorry if this offends anyone.
Note: It works well on a tablet and desktop. Looks okay on a mobile phone in landscape mode, though I am working on making it better.
PS: It uses the COVID nightly updates from John Hopkins for the data.

I like Foley's bio;
Revance Appoints Mark J. Foley as President and CEO, Replacing Dan Browne
-------
Mr. Foley was previously Chairman, President and CEO of ZELTIQ Aesthetics (ZLTQ). During his tenure, he led ZELTIQ’s growth from $68 million in annual revenue in 2012 to over $350 million in 2016, resulting in a greater than tenfold appreciation of the company’s stock. Mr. Foley also served as a Managing Director of RWI Ventures, a venture capital firm focused on life sciences, networking, semiconductor and software investments from 2004 to 2018. Prior to this, Mr. Foley held a variety of senior operating roles in large public companies and venture-backed startups, including U.S. Surgical Corporation, Guidant Corporation, Devices for Vascular Intervention (acquired by Eli Lilly), Perclose (acquired by Abbott) and Ventrica (acquired by Medtronic), where he was the founder and CEO. He currently serves on the Board of Directors for public companies Glaukos (GKOS) and SI-Bone (SIBN) and is a co-chair of the Aesthetics Innovation Summit. Mr. Foley is a graduate of the University of Notre Dam

I think part of the reason is that it has now been associated with the opiod concerns (Actavis). Look at Teva and Mylan trading at 10-15 year lows. Teva was at $60 a couple of years ago when there was no generic Copaxone.
AGN received a buyout offer in the 300s?
Biotech has been brutal.
Allergan selloff on opioid concerns an overreaction, says Wells Fargo
Wells Fargo analyst David Maris attributes the 5% selloff today in shares of Allergan (AGN) to heightened fears of opioid liability risks in the sector. Maris spoke to Allergan's investor relations team, which noted the company is fully indemnified regarding legacy Actavis generics issues. Further, Allergan has very little exposure to branded opioid sales, as they represent a very small percentage of the company's branded business, Maris tells investors in a research note. He believes the decline in Allergan shares is an overreaction to the negative headlines related to opioid-based litigation facing a number of specialty pharma companies such as Teva (TEVA), Mylan (MYL), and Mallinckrodt (MNK). Maris calls the selloff overdone and recommends buying shares of Allergan. He keeps an Outperform rating on the name with a $188 price target.
Incredible. A Friday evening news dump at 52 week lows.
Is there a sleazier management than this? (I guess it is a tie between this and MNTA)

McPherson plant evacuated after bomb threat
BY BRYAN HORWATH
UPDATED JUNE 05, 2017 11:47 AM
A bomb threat led to the evacuation of a Pfizer facility in McPherson early Monday, according to a representative of the New York-based pharmaceutical company.
Kim Bencker, a spokeswoman for the company, said in an e-mail that the manufacturing facility, located at 1776 Centennial Drive, was evacuated Monday morning. She didn’t say what time the evacuation happened.
All employees were confirmed to be safe following the threat, Bencker said in the e-mail. This story will be updated as more information becomes available.
