my ML broker. over 25 years, called me on the golf course in the middle of a putt to cougratulate me on getting Wave Systems right in my investment portfolio, of course this was when the SP was at $ 4.50.....nonetheless, as a very long term shareholder 10yrs+ I want say how much I appreciate this extraordinary message board....when WAVX hits $ 10 we should, at last, meet in Los Vegas for a tribal victory dance....
late night in San Francisco with some great wine on board.
Trust me, Merrill has been following Wave for many years.....my broker called me last week to try to squeeze more of my retirement money from T-Bills (which are about to mature @ 8%) to Dividend paying stocks, as an aside he said, nice call on Wave
we've got them going to $ 6 in the near future.....looks like he might be low on that call......Nancy and I send cheers to all the 'longs', going back to the RagingBull cocktail parties at the early SHM's......We should do the Vegas get-together at $ 10
You're the top!
You're the Coliseum.
You're the top!
You're the Louver Museum.
You're a melody from a symphony by Strauss
You're a Bendel bonnet,
A Shakespeare's sonnet,
You're Mickey Mouse.
Cole Porter
We will all meet in Vegas soon, it is our destiny....Nancy and I will host to cocktail parties in days of old, like we did in NYC (Raging Bull) at the 42nd Street Hyatt....still, very long and strong, 150k shares....it's going to be hard to shake this old crow off the tree.
Many, many thanks for all of the intelligent folks that have actually kept me in this stock for over 12 years....way against my usual investor policy which was mutual funds via 401k and IRA
Now my 'trusted' Merrill Lynch advisor (25 years) tells me that I should diversify because my % WAVX shares are going over 50% of my portfolio....so it goes in the Kingdom called Wave....
eamonnshute where in the world are you these days....last time we saw eachother was at the Four Seasons in Singapore several years ago.....can't recall what Wave was trading at......hope all is well....
btw....this is the first time in 10 yrs that I have NOT bought wave going into a significant rally just before the selloff......thus I will take modest credit for this continued upside movement.......Great Thanksgiving to all......
Just for the record......I accounted for 10%+ of todays trades...nonetheless Snack.....I do share your hope for Wave.
Time has come.
Weby: Your messages, over the last 10 years, have always been greatly appreciated. You're one of the many jewels in the crown.....Nancy and I send our love, and a wish, for a Healthy, Happy Thanksgiving with family and fiends.
Let the rollercoaster ride BEGIN !!!!
What we've had over the last many years is a SP chart that looks as bad as the 30 year Treasury yield......one very long trend down.....
At least a rollercoaster ride would imply going up
from time to time.....
and IF we ever do start that upward hockey stick spike....we all better not sell too soon..........for what I've been through with this company, I think a SP of $ 100 would be about enough to compensate me and my family for the pain, suffering and daily torment that has visited us over the long slog....
So, I'm not selling, not at $ 10, $ 25 $ 50 $ 75 or
$ 99 !!!!!
I'm a mean and ornery old rattlesnake and I'll go to my grave that way. Before I bought Wave I was actually a fairly nice guy. As always, thanks to all of the great DD posters
Robert: You are absoultely correct.....I've known David for many years and always find him to be informed, balanced and conservatively practical in his view of Wave Systems....'Do you people know where this company is going'......finally,
says it all.
My 60,000+ votes will go in favor of the proxy.....
Not a bad finish. Normally as I buy at the top I suffer a 10% loss right off the bat........though I promised my wife, Nancy, I would not purchase another share until Wave was over $ 3......today's action forced my hand however.......shhhh!
Just to let everyone know, I just purchased 2,500 shares, so consider the rally capped......unfortunately that's been my very humble experience since 1997......Merril Lynch warned me that I may be putting too much $$$ into a speculative stock at my age (58).....however, I brought it to their attention that I have no margin exposure and less than 15% of my money in Wave Systems.
They (Merrill Lynch) were aware of the NYT's article.....and when Wave hits into double figures, I'm certain ML will try to take credit for the investment.......so it goes.
"Apple" <News@InsideApple.Apple.com>
Danny: Being a transplanted New Yorker, now living in San Francisco, I have often read and appreciated your 'Empire Zone' articles in the Times......
but please write your article on Wave Systems in a year,
not now.
It would be like writing an article on the Red Sox
before they actually won the World Series.......
Perhaps we are currently in that fourth game of the playoffs , having lost the first three against those damn Yankees......I'm certain you remember that game......
Dutch: My goal is to live to see the day when I can discuss Wave Systems with all those that I talked into this stock
with pride and confidence.....the share price would have to be in the $ 20 for me to do that......nonetheless.....my personal exit will be when each of my 4 adult children have $ 250,000 in their accounts to enjoy life......and that price is well above $ 50.......Oh......plus I plan to retire in 3 years on my own shares........lot's on the line here........
The last 10 years has been an Homeric Odyssey...ie. a long,
adventurous wandering....mostly full of pain and disappointments........
Go Wave!!! See everyone in Vegas in '07........
Peace, health, happiness, and all those good things, to everyone......
Rich
Dutch: We've been doing the 12-18 month dance for a long time.
Personally, I'd take $ 50 per share in 36 months.....
Once Wave gets into the $ 20's we should have a survey for what price we will sell at, assuming that a Wavoid's first divestiture is 10%-25% of their holding.......
Tony: Haven't seen you since we met for drinks in Singapore. Nancy and I are in NYC seeing some plays.....perhaps we'll
do a cocktail party at the SHM in '07, like the Raging Bull good old days.
Still long and strong, just getting older...
Hope all is well.
Rich
PS: Appologies Snackman
Snackman: How/where do I get to your survey?
Ditto that.......maybe it's time for all the lurkers to log in.
Bake56: Obviously she doesn't have a Trusted Platform....
My thoughts exactly scorpio, hope all is well.
Nancy and I wish all Wavoids a most happy, healthy and yes
prosperous Holiday and New Year.....
Oneputt....Wave went up $ 15 the day the AMD deal was inked....I just got home from open heart surgery...the news was the only bright side at the moment....I owned 20,000 shares at the time.......Now, four years later....I'm enjoying my work and family more than ever.....my holdings have increased significantly, so a move to $ 5 - $ 10 will be equal to what I left on the table.....nonetheless being a tried and true Wavoid I WILL NOT SELL !!!! It's all, or nothing at all.....
Doma: What about Dell laptops? That's what I need.
Dell/TPM Security Chip......My wife, Nancy, just spent an hour trying to purchase a Dell laptop with the TPM Security chip....the Dell agent knew nothing of it.....quoted her
$ 1,500 without the TPM.....any thoughts on how we could raise the awareness bar for Dell?
We would like to pull the trigger on this next week.
Rich
Jake: I also had a similar experience.....5 years ago I was getting a routine physical to allow me to climb into the K2 area of the Himalaya mts....EKG...Echo...angiogram....bingo!
I never left the hospital....when I did leave, 5 days later I had my chest tatoos and 4 replaced arteries...I was 53 at the time, never smoked, mostly eating fish (California)...playing squash and climbing mts.....felt and looked great, 4 children and a wife.....had I gone on the K2 trip, there's no doubt in my mind that I would not have returned.
Only symptoms were a little shortness of breath (I figured I had a cold at the time) and some claustrophobia that I would get on ski lifts from time to time.
I was told the same thing by my doctors.....they couldn't understand how I could have lived, let alone have been so active, with such blockage.
One other item.....my mother, father, aunt and 3 uncles all died of heart conditions...no one ever lived beyond 64......
Weby: I read that as well. Doesn't Wave have a relationshiop with Akimbo via Intel. The article was just screeming for CONTENT!!!!
Indeed, waverider, you are correct.
We are riding on the high seas, like Magellan,
the money is down....the bets are taken.....and the potential of mutany is always present, as well as discovery.....

Once out of nature I shall never take
My bodily form from any natural thing,
But such a form as Grecian goldsmiths make
O hammered gold and gold enamelling
To keep a drowsy Emperor awake;
Or set upon a golden bough to sing
To lords and ladies of Byzantium
Of what is past, or passing, or to come.
William Butler Yeats
Good night Yaya......we'll all miss you in Las Vegas........
Very sad news...Nancy and I will miss his energy, wit and Wavoid enthusiasm.....he's in our prayers and I agree that we should have a moment of silence in Las Vegas.....
Just for the record. Nancy and I (BQ) are still on board....we've doubled down since the '98 shareholders meeting in NYC, which highlighted the HP Embassy chip.....we've been serious lurkers and have appreciated this community as a marvelous example of 'risk management'....haven't sold a share and have managed, through luck and good fortune, to significantly lower our average share price.....next SHM we'll arrange for a very fine COCKTAIL party.....last couple of years haven't warranted celebration.....but after today...I do believe....the best is yet to come........
It seems fairly obvious to me that the private investors who put up the $ 150m would willingly provide additional bridge financing of another $5-10m should the forseeable future for Wave be reasonbably positive.
Call it throwing good money after bad......but time will tell.
Maybe if Wave reschedules the SHM in NY I can arrange for a cocktail hour / or two.....
hey Snackman....I've finally arrived.....well I'll be........all we need now is ALMIMAN...
