The reverse split is a contingency plan that may not be necessary because of the prospective news flow.
True. Obtaining the shareholders' votes to implement a reverse split does not obligate the company to execute one.
If the company has some good news it is able to deliver it would seem a reasonable strategy would be to annouce the reverse split on a Friday after the close and positive news on Monday before the open. But that may just be wishful thinking.
And true --- that may just be wishful thinking.

Can you direct to any web links echoing your explanation of real value? Sounds logical, but would like to do more reading.
So far, I'm bringing up nothing (perhaps not using correct terminology) from search engines.

Awk
Just posting what I research.
From same Fool article: ...academic finance research reportedly shows that the stocks of most companies that reverse split continue to underperform the market averages. Reverse splits are acts of desperation by companies in trouble...
However, I realize the article is just one man's conclusions/opinions of companies performing reverse stock splits. Here is another, providing a different view of reverse stock splitting.
http://www.forbes.com/prnewswire/feeds/prnewswire/2006/05/05/prnewswire200605051344PR_NEWS_B_SET_FL_...
I would truly welcome anyone's information that contradicts mine, as it would provide a glimmer of hope to us all about this subject.

I posted info I'd found stating that reverse splits don't dilute one's stock value, since the stock price then rises. I hadn't even played that value out in future rising values (if that were to miraculously happen anyway).
You have.
Sad story.

Reverse Stock Split Values
It's my understanding that, contrary to what some think, one does not end up with less value in a stock when it does a reverse split.
From Motley Fool: in a 5-for-1 reverse split, such as AT&T's (NYSE: T) a year ago, investors owned one-fifth of the shares they owned before, but at $24.85 -- five times the prior close of $4.97. Another wash
However, it usually signals a dying company. Few ever turn around after a reverse split. I've also read that a company does not need the shareholders' approval to execute such a split.

My Gut Feeling All Along
Not blaming anyone here for turn of events. This community has many, many admirable and steadfast members. Actually, several posters here have kept me in the loop as to what has been happening, as I don't read the board. For that, I have been grateful. I hung onto the dim hope that one day the company would produce enough to turn the stock around. I vowed to go down with the ship. Seems to be happening now.
This was one heck of a learning experience for me to the tune of $200K lost. I jumped into something I knew little about. I once asked here, "Can you have a company with a great product whose stock goes nowhere?" Turns out it was a good question. I knew nothing about the business world. I take full responsibility for my loss.
Someone once wrote here that the "wimps" and "old ladies" used mutual funds; that's where the bulk of my investments are. I have read several worthy writings by respected financial gurus who extol the virtues of mutuals and explain the superior earning power of good mutual funds, headed by proven fund managers, over individual stocks. Yes, I know we used to think Wave was an exception and would be the next Microsoft. Certainly a stock like that far outweighs a mutual, but in reality, how many are Microsofts?
As my dad (and the old saying) says, "Pigs get slaughtered." Don't get greedy. I did.
I would advise mutuals over individual stocks, too. Thank God I weighted more of my investments there, and was still able to retire last year. I truly feel for anyone here whose sole investment plan was wrapped up with this stock. In the end, a company is going to do what it has to do no matter how that ultimately affects stockholders.
My intent is not to say "I told you so", as I am suffering just as the rest of the community. I'm just sharing my thoughts. I think my investment in this company has earned me that right.
Be well everyone.

I posted a thank you to you all for the congratulatory messages, but was told I included some personal names and needed to stick to handles, so it was removed. Ooops, sorry!
So thank you! :)
I hope some day soon we will ALL be celebrating retirement at a Wavoid party in Las Vegas!
Still hangin' in there,
Lucky50+5
P.S. I can't answer Ihub email, so very, very occasionally I post an OT, hence this post...I promise not to chat here, as I know that isn't the purpose of this board. Back to not posting now....
OT Weby,Micro,Tony,Vhouse,Rosie,and all "older" Wavoids:
Just wanted to let those of you I haven't emailed with yet know that I am now officially retired!
Hope all of you are healthy and happy and hangin' in there hopefully with Wavx!

Thanks! Soon to be a "Nana" --- July --- a granddaughter! And five weeks till retirement. Don't good things come in three's? Come on Wavx!
Lucky50(55 now)
Thank you, Rosie!!
Checking the board, I see your post and I thank you. Glad you had a wonderful time in Hawaii and that all your grandbabies and children are fine.
I also see that there is this "Happy Hour" deal, and I'd forgotten that that was periodically offered. So I thought I'd post a thank-you to you, Sherry, and a "hello" to my old Wavoid OT friends.
Micro, hope you, Mrs. Micro, and the daughters and the grandkids are doing well. I now know the anticipation you and the "Webs" kept telling me about when you know you are going to be a grandparent. It is what is getting me through this last year of teaching. I'm a walking grin :)
My classes are really good this semester, although not without a few individual students who ruin my day occasionally. Guess that will never change. Luckily, we have a new administrator who supports us and takes nothing from the kids...he was in the private school system for 20 years and demands that "old" level of behavior we were raised with, which seems to have eroded not only in the public school but also in many homes. He is a great help.
I am so excited to enter a new chapter of my life come June 10! After all my trips to look for properties in NC and FL and the city (Chicago), I've decided I just am not ready to leave my house yet. So I'll be able to help my son and daughter-in-law with the childcare should she choose to continue teaching. Right now they are hoping for her to be able to quit and maybe do something parttime from their home. We also hope this first baby will have two or three siblings in the future.
I miss our old community and hope you all are doing well. I hear from Bill and Weby and Tony once in a while, but have lost Micro's email address, so don't know what is going on with him. I pray you are all happy and healthy as we go into this holiday season.
Love to you all,
AlmostGrandmaLucky
Tampa and Doma
Hear, hear! I feel very much like both of you. Burned out from the roller coaster ride of past years, yet hopeful still.
I have not, however, even read this board for months, because I just cannot hang on every little shred of DD found. I invested well into six figures in this stock and, of course, am not selling at this point. I retain hope, yet go on living my life as if I will never see any of that money again.
If I do, I'll rejoice along with you two. I guess all we can do is hang in there.

I've used stuff from that book for some of my classes, Tony. It is a stitch, isn't it? Very clever!

Thanks for sharing those photos! They are outstanding! Is that lighthouse the one in the movie, The Ring? Kinda looks like it...
Loved the sunset and the water and the ships. Don't have little ones so I don't know Theodore, but it's good to know where "he" lives. ;)
Now if someone could just tell me what is going on with Wave...
Lucky
P.S. Would love to post some wedding photos for y'all, but don't know how. Can you explain?
Hi Webs!
Ah, yes truth is stranger than fiction, for sure!
I now have comcast high speed cable...is that the same thing as broadband? (duh?)
I'll try it again.
What is new with you? With your grandkids? Mrs. Weby? The kids? Anything exciting?

Tried to play your jibjab thing, but all I got is music...I assume there should be words.
Did you watch the convention? I did, all four nights...hmmm, interesting. Politics is quite a show, isn't it? And game of psychology.

Anyone watching MSNBC right now? Joe Trippi is one of four Chris Matthews is interviewing...FYI.

My son and his...oh my gosh, this is the first time I'm saying "wife"!...have a yellow lab she named "Bear". He's huge. The vet said he'd never seen paws on a lab as big as Bear's! I bet your puppies are so adorable!
Don't scare me anymore, though, with that pool story. I'm relieved you were right there, as I'm sure those pups were...I can just picture them in the towels at your feet...
You're finding it hard to laugh/smile these days? Because of Wave?
Lucky
Hi IAMSAM!
Great to see you here, too!
At first, I'm wading through all that stuff in the first link, thinking, "Oh gees, I don't read that board anymore, so I'm not going to get what Golden's referring to and why it's so funny to IAMSAM"....and then I read the second link...

Wow OTers!
It's great to see chatter again on the OT board!
Bill, how did you like Seabiscuit? I'm assuming you saw it? How are your horses doing? Any new little ones?
Tony, we've had really hot and humid nasty weather the last few days. It seems to have broken now and is nice and cool. That humidity is a killer. Your weather sounds heavenly compared to hot and humid!
Micro, how can we get Rosie over here, too? And hey, doncha think a little "treat" for the Father of the Bride in the form of an IHub membership might be in order? ;)
Weby, how are Mrs. Weby and your kids and grandkids? Are you totally fine now after your surgery/medical issues?
Just got back from six hours of keeping the cat company at my son's apt. Now to my own cats....
Lucky
And the Webster, too?!
Hey Webyman! So good to hear from you! Let us know what is going on in your life and how those grandkids of yours are! (I will be expecting them soon! Kate would start on the honeymoon if she could, but they've decided to wait at least a year...but that won't be long!)
Yup, starting in September, it's not counting down the years anymore; it's counting down the days! Ye olde retirement, here I come!

WEDDING!
To my friends here (whom I miss chatting with, BTW) I just wanted to report that my son is now a married man and in Maui on his honeymoon!
The rehearsal dinner I gave and the entire wedding the next night came off beautifully; it was the best weekend of my entire life -- for many reasons (including the answer to my prayer that my ex finally, after 27 years, has come around to not be angry or resentful anymore...angry about what, I never knew, as he was the one who walked out when I was 7 1/2 months pregnant and who remarried quickly...one would think he'd be happy...but we talked and talked and even hugged!) I think joyful events like weddings can be healing.
The weather was beautiful, the white tent at the Hyatt was elegant with four foot high white table flowers and white linens and white chandeliers, and of course, the bride in white, radiant! The party was a huge success -- everyone danced and danced and danced -- the guests had to be kicked out finally past the ending time, since they didn't want to leave! I found out I'm going to be invited to four of my son's friends' weddings during the next year; they are all like sons to me, too. For a single lady, it was so heartwarming to be hugged and hugged all night long and feel so loved. (Awwwwwwww....giggle.)
At the rehearsal dinner there must have been 30-40 toasts, all funny and touching. The tears flowed! The mother of the bride said during the first year she knew Patrick, she was trying to decide if he was right for Kate, but she finally realized he was when she saw "how he treats his mother"! (You know the old saying that you can tell how a man will treat women by how he treats his mother?) Oh my God, that opened up MY flood gates!
It was a weekend of joy, laughter, and great love!
Feeling so blessed and happy and just wanted to share that with you, my Wave pals.
Hope you are all well and prospering. I miss our old community.
Lucky
Hi Bill,
Well, out of your favorites list, I would give a heads-up to Field of Dreams. That was good.
Haven't seen The Good, The Bad and The Ugly for a long time...but I remember thinking that was good, too.
You've got quite a collection of nostalgia on your list, huh? :)
Lucky
Tony
I totally agree....OR sexist! LOL
Lucky
LOL Bill!
But please don't tell me you like those movies made for 12 year-old boys like the Lord of the Rings horrors!!!
(Dame Judi Dench is British. Quite well known and accomplished.)
Hey, film is like art...each to his own, right? There are enough genres for everyone to have his favorite!
How are the horses?
Lucky
Yes, do Tony!
And then tell me what you think. I loved the characters in it. Spacey is one of my favorites.
Lucky
Hi Bill
So you didn't like it, huh? I can see that.
Just can't see someone not admiring Judi Dench, though...she's wonderful! (Or were you kidding with the Dame comment?) Did you see Iris, for which she was nominated as Best Actress?
Lucky
P.S. See the Belmont? What a heartbreaker.
Tony
Guess what was just on cable again a night or two ago? Shipping News. It's really good. I wonder if a guy would like it...if you ever see it, let me know what you think. It has Dame Judi Dench in it, too.
Lucky
Tony
Yup! Those were good films...but there is also another one I kind of remember...although it might be the Kevin Spacey one and I'm mixing them up...it was something about a past house where one daughter murdered another or someone murdered the mother or sister but the other one got away...something...I can "see" the house, all desolate...in fact, the family was like exiled out there by the town...is that Shipping News? Does that plot line ring a bell?
Lucky
Tony
Didn't know you were from Nova Scotia. Very interesting...you're the first I've known from there (and we don't really "know" each other but what the hey)...always wanted to see Nova Scotia.
Wasn't there a movie with Kevin Spacey set there? And another one with Kathy Bates? Or was that the same movie? I'm confused...
Lucky
Hi Webs!
Did your post mean that even though one hasn't paid for a membership, one can post on this OT board on weekends? I'd not heard that!
Lucky
Hey Tony
Hope you got motivated. Or not. :)
Heard from several of our old OTer's but most aren't posting or paying the money to, so we might not revive our board.
<sigh>
Hope we at least keep in touch through email!
Lucky
Ok, I re-registered. I can post here again. PLEASE....
come back all you OT'ers! I need to catch up with you Micro, IAMSAM, Tony, Bill, Sherry, etc. What is going on with you guys?! Everyone still alive and well?
The wedding plans are well underway for my son. Had the first of three showers -- all women -- last weekend, and my family's couples shower is this Sunday. June 5 is a shower in MI at Kate's relatives' place. Got my mother-of-the-groom dress, and no, it's not beige! LOL! I'm giving the rehearsal dinner (for 70! Yikes, weddings are expensive nowadays...) and am planning that at Prairie Rock Brewing Company. We have the Chicago room, which sounds cool (Pat and Kate reserved it)...mahogony (mahagony?)walls, fireplace, private patio with outdoor fireplace...not that the fireplaces will be blazing in the middle of the summer, but nice ambiance nevertheless. So all is going well.
Three more weeks of school. Then I can't believe I will be going into my final year next year. Gees, I remember when we were talking retirement five years ago. I am so excited it is almost here! Next year will fly, all my retired friends tell me.
OH! Almost forgot to tell you: I listed my house and got a great offer in just three weeks. That really forced my decision (sell and move into the city? have a city condo and a FL condo?) because I panicked, not having a place in mind that I wanted to buy. So I refused the offer and delisted. My realtor called a week later to say the buyers wanted the house so much that they'd take temporary housing (they were relocating) for 5-6 months until I could find a place. Just couldn't do it. Am waiting till I retire to decide if I want to sell. And of course, should I then decide to, you just KNOW I won't get a buyer...ahhh, life....ahhh, timing.
What is going on with you guys? PLEASE post or at least email me so I can get in touch with you! My laptop crashed some months ago and I lost lots of email addresses...
I miss you guys!!!!

Oh, I see....thanks for that info. Does no one post anymore? I hear some folks are in a different location. Is that where Micro disappeared to? I see so few names I recognize anymore here, but then I'm not here much either.
I guess I've been out of the loop for a while.
Can you send me your email address? My laptop motherboard crashed (frickin Dell $3500 laptop was nothing but repairs and trouble...how on earth does Consumers give it such good ratings?!)
