First time checking out the board here...board marked, might not post much, but will be lurking in the background from here on out
Anybody have any idea how much of the float is held by iHub longs right now?
After watching ads forever the wife and I finally took the plunge and started that ABC series "Reven8e" which is set in the Hamptons. Addicted already.
A bit OT but there is a lot of footage of lux homes.
Speaking of hidden gems...I bought a very small position in IFVZ sometime last year. Which immediately went into oblivion. Whatever, no big deal...until today I look at my account and it says it's up 1900% today which put me way in the green. I was really excited for about 10 seconds, until I realized that the ticker doesn't exist anymore...at least not that I could find. :)
Give it five years. I mean, based on your returns from the last couple of years...ok, maybe ten years. :)
Of course, when SMKY is trading at $10+ and you've rolled profits into a handful of other gems that have returned 20, 30, 50, even 100x ... $100 million in 5 years might not be so far-fetched :)
Dammit. Been holding here quietly, held thru the plummet. Have funds clearing end of week have been silently hoping low prices held into next week. Wanted to add a couple hundred thou sub penny. Fck. Oh well, still got all I had before, and in the green.
Might have something to do with waiting for a "professional" opinion to verify that number from the geologist that was referenced. Don't wanna be throwing out numbers in an official PR (even if everybody knows they're valid) until someone with credentials verifies. Just my two cents.
No surprise...go with Fidelity or another brokerage that doesn't play those stupid games where you never know whether or not you're going to be able to trade a certain ticker...
Great question. Trade? yes. Invest? No. Although I do have other holdings that the IRS would consider "investments" as I'm not really into the day-trading thing, SMKY is by far the most invested I've been in any stock...and not dollar amount, but more in terms of high expectations that massive future potential will be realized.
If I still had a job, you can be assured that I'd have been adding every 2 weeks here for months now...this is a real investment for me.
Well, so far eddie's ability to win my trust has only resulted in a 10-bagger, so I guess I'll keep the wool on for a bit longer
As with all things, there comes a point where only time will tell...so we shall wait and see.
You're right, faith is tough to argue with, especially blind faith. Fortunately though, what I have is a confident conclusion that is not blind, but is instead based on many things. I've spent the last 14 months watching Eddie state the vision, state the plan, and execute, changing (improving) it along the way, and driving forward. If I sit down on my couch 50 times and it supports my weight, it's not blind faith to tell someone that it will support me the 51st time. Eddie has delivered consistently, and it is a completely LOGICAL and REASONABLE conclusion to expect that he will continue... Feel free to argue with that logic. It is the same logic you are using (that the past predicts/informs the future) except that you use faulty attribution. I'm using the past events of this CEO's performance to indicate his probable future performance (sound logic), whereas you're using the past performance of who knows what other companies to try to reason that SMKY is doomed for failure. Sorry, go back and take a logic class...it doesn't work that way. You can use whatever false generalization you want that "all pinks are the same" or whatever else you need to say to make yourself feel good, but the fact remains that each company, its success or failure, is independent.
Have you talked to Eddie? I'm guessing not. Is this worth debating? Not really. Bottom line, I've talked to Eddie many times, and I'm more than confident that whatever played out movie you've seen so many times that makes you think you know more than everybody else here isn't the script for what's being played out behind the scenes for SMKY.
I'm glad you're hanging around. I have to say I won't have as much class as you, as I am very much looking forward to the day that I start (and continue) saying, "We told you so." Oh wait, I guess based on your last post where you totally contradicted yourself, that maybe we're of the same "class" now...
I have no idea if the seller is done. You're asking the wrong person. Feel free to try to find a quote by me where I've made any statements like that. What I base my confidence of eventual PPS in has nothing to do with who might be selling today, and everything to do with Eddie taking this to fruition.
Of course they're words. That's how we as humans communicate and describe things that are in process. I'm still waiting for you to answer my question how they're not relevant to PPS, as you so definitively stated.
Securing financing for completing a major acquisition resulting in immediate profitability, lower operating costs, facility expansion, increased production, and more than one major distribution deal in the works are not relevant to the PPS? Please educate us on what is...
Haha. Well. Don't hold your breath...it was, as most dreams are, totally unrealistic. The PPS went to $2+ in a single day. Hehe
GM. I had a really bizarre dream about AIMH last night...right before I woke up. So weird. I never dream about stocks. Never, ever. I dreamed I was gone all day, and when I got home and checked iHub, AIMH had completed a R/M with a Chinese company with huge assets and the PPS had skyrocketed. Haha...oh the subconscious mind.
Anyway, here's to hoping for good things in the future here!
Looks like you're finally going to get some samples!! Let the board know your thoughts
I'm not in limbo land. Never have been here.
Wonder when we'll get a sh update. Hoping soon...
Nice :)
GM, wondering what this short week holds for us here.
Yep. Looking forward to a fun ride here on this one.
I guess his resume is "alright" ... Except for the fact that he went to a second class academy where the little kid squids go instead of big boy school with the warfighters.
Lowman, good to cross paths with ya again.
anybody mind posting L2 on the ask side...just three prices and their depth? i'd appreciate it.
GM A$!
Complete speculation here - looking for other's thoughts/opinions, so not trying to paint a wild picture as fact...just trying to connect some interesting dots.
- CNXT is no longer publicly traded, although yes, that address is what is listed in their last 10-Q.
- They were wholly acquired by Golden Gate Capital in April of 2011, when Golden Gate Capital "merged with and into Conexant"
Wow, woke up this morning at 4:15 and couldn't go back to sleep. Checked iHub. Was surprised to see 70 new messages since yesterday! Very interesting news here, very curious to watch this play out. Will be watching from my phone today as we're moving into a new home (finally)!!
And those would be?
So will you please explain?
GM all! That last email from Morey sounds very positive. I don't know how long it will take him to finalize things, but am more than willing to wait.
Here's to hoping it's sooner rather than later - car just broke down on Tuesday...a nice run here could easily cover repair costs plus an outright purchase of a second, newer vehicle.
I'll wait as long as necessary, but am hoping sometime in January or February to see this R/M complete.
Thanks for your concern. I have read the email, multiple times. I still fail to see anything "obvious" things are not going smoothly, any hint of interruptions, or anything obvious about the deal not happening til next year, or even remotely indicating that it "may still be on."
Of course, you are welcome to your opinion...but frankly, I'm not much interested in it.
Best of luck to you.
Not sure where you're getting that - other than just stating your own interpretation of a pretty vague email. I didn't say it was going to happen tomorrow. I don't really care when it happens. As others have already stated, Morey didn't make any statements about when it would or wouldn't be finalized. All I really took away from his last email was that things are still on track, which to me says that this will happen someday, and that is what I said I'm looking forward to. If it's in the next couple of weeks, great. If it's not for a few more months, great. Doesn't matter to me...but as Morey has given us nothing, in my opinion, that definitively changes his previous statement of expectation that both companies will be under new management by the end of the year, then I will continue to make investing decisions based on that. If it changes, so be it.
Bottom line - I'm looking forward to finalization of this R/M.
Good morning! A day closer here, whether that's in a couple of weeks or a couple of months...still a day closer. Morey says things are on track...looking forward with great expectation to the finalizing of this R/M.
Yes we do!
Gonna add some bid support here. L2 still showing .012 as bid?
Ahhh. Sure is a nice place to add here for those that have funds to do so.
6000 more until?
Well, at least this update is something tangible - and verifiable. I'm kind of curious just how much profit ISM makes from the flea market. Might be an interesting first few months of 2012.
Wonder if the free DVD is an original feature film done in their studio?
