Despite the fall in lumber futures over the last 7 trading days, reality will soon set in that prices are likely never going back to where they were a couple of years ago. Fed printing, low interest rates to infinity, and the resulting demand will put a concrete floor in the sector.

Center for Financial Research and Analysis (CFRA) proprietary research lists WFSTF as a "strong buy" with the following commentary.
"Model Ranking Commentary
TSX: WEF's STRONG BUY recommendation is based on its score from CFRA's quantitative model for Canada.
Growth and Price Momentum model sub-categories are the two largest drivers of TSX: WEF's STRONG BUY recommendation.
Growth includes factors that measure EPS growth and stability and cash flow growth and stability.
Price Momentum includes factors such as a stock's relative strength and its price volatility.
TSX: WEF's overall score ranked in the 3rd percentile of all stocks in the model universe (1 = best and 100 = worst)."
Of course, I'm no accountant, but it seems like a good move regardless of how it fits in the balance sheet.

Applying the current CAD/USD ratio, the U.S. price would be $2.46

Closed at $2.03 high of the day. The relative obscurity of WFSTF probably accounts for the slow rise to what I believe will ultimately be 2.25 to 2.50 on the conservative side. Hell, lumber inflation alone demands it!

Western Forest Products (OTCPK:WFSTF): Q1 GAAP EPS of $0.14.
Revenue of $322.5M (+225.4% Y/Y) beats by $70.29M.
Looking back, WFSTF earned .18 for the year 2018 and the stock price was frequently over $2.00. With lumber prices hitting all time highs we should be looking at a significant gain today if there is any justice left in the markets.
Assuming a conservative .50 profit for the year and a 15 multiple, WFSTF should be at $7.50 U.S. in my humble (and usually wrong) opinion. Yeah, BABY!

May 21 contract now at $1420.
Lumber is what gold used to be in terms of inflation protection, and unlike gold, Wall Street banks apparently can't easily sell endless naked contracts at below-market prices. Plus, you can build useful things with lumber. It's hard to see how we lose given those facts.
May 21 contract now $1322 - planking gold.
May 21 random length close yesterday - $1260.70. Inflation don't care about your fiat paper.
