And we all know how General Growth turned out....could've retired if I pulled the trigger on that SOB. I'm sure he'll do a great job. EOY we should be well above 1.00/shr
I'll take this over that WSJ crap any day...lets see how the market swallows this one. Should be a good day tomorrow.
We'll see how the market responds to "the facts"....picking up at .15
Hopefully we've seen the bottom of this. Now peeps are loading for the next run after the auction winner is announced. IMO
Same tune as the WSJ article...in my eyes both are still irrelevant.
Opening paragraph quotes:
"As Eastman Kodak Co's patent auction draws to a close, the bankrupt photography company has only received lowball bids for the patents that it believes are worth $2.6 billion, the Wall Street Journal reported citing unnamed sources.
All offers for Kodak's 1,100 digital patents, for which Apple Inc , Google Inc and Microsoft Corp are reportedly bidding, have come in significantly below the $500 million mark, the Journal said."
Sound contradictory??
Another interesting quote...directly from the horses mouth, so to speak.
"Our patent auction is a complex and dynamic process, and is very much ongoing," Kodak spokeswoman Stefanie Goodsell told Reuters.
"We and all participants are still bound by the court order on confidentiality and cannot comment prior to an outcome."
Im curious who leaked the number 500 million. Until 5p.m. both articles are just casual weekend reading.
Interesting article...good food for thought. Its interesting that all of these companies are finding lawsuits and time in the courtroom to be a stronger offense then pushing the boundaries of technology and releasing it to the market. I personally don't subscribe to the WSJ, however after reading the first few paragraphs of the article, finding discrepancies in what I read wasn't difficult. IMO I think Kodak will receive a healthy bid for each patent portfolio...but to make any claims about a private, bankruptcy court monitored auction, before the final date is foolish. I'm eagerly awaiting Monday.....
Interesting article by WSJ today. Also curious they "know" the auction results of this week. May have some cheap shares on Monday if we don't get any pre-market news.
I wouldn't be surprised if they announce by end of week 8/17. But the 13th is the last day of the auction. Good luck to all!
I agree wholeheartedly, in fact that was my point. Until anything official is released...anything that comes out from now until the 13th is dismissible.
Hopefully we don't see any "speculative" or "initial" bidding reports like we saw with the "preliminary" report...that is, unless they're good :)
New attorney, Doc 1825 Filed 8/07/2012 Edward J. Meehan Counsel
From the looks he specializes in mergers & acquisitions
Exactly...now the bidding can really take place. Initial bids of 150-250 million are not going to set the pace for this. The water has only been tested, we just need apple and google to show up to the watering hole.
Good article...I'm glad they mentioned the shorts. I feel like, with the current patent auction, its been on the back burner. Auction + possible short squeeze = $$$ Good week a head.
An exaggeration of what I DON'T want to happen...nevertheless we're all in great shape, and I think it'll only cont. A great weekend all around everyone!
We were on track for .60, I'm referring more to the pull back and set up for Monday. I can stay more optimistic when realistic numbers happen. I don't want this to blow up then sink to .05
Baby steps here, looking forward to Monday.
Considering the patent portfolio is ball parking around 2.2 - 2.6 billion USD. The article written by Kevin Surace that was posted earlier this afternoon, unassumingly foreshadowed, what could be the catalyst for an all out bidding war of historical proportions. The ingredients are there. Each bidding party will be working with nearly 100 billion dollars in cash, Apples (Steve Jobs) unmatched desire to maintain supremacy in the mobile phone market, and, this is personally my opinion, but the possibility of Apple proving a point to Kodak by winning the bids for the 218 and 335 patents Apple claimed was theirs in the beginning. But, of course this is not all about Apple. Google and Samsung will have also have guns blazing, which is why I think this auction could easily fetch $ 5-7 billion. Bottom line, this auction can't end soon enough.
I'm curious if we'll see some profit taking? Or if peeps are gonna let this cruise......
If we see a fraction of that in the pps, you'll have a lot of happy people. Considering too, I would say most people are in around a quarter. Interesting tidbit. I recently watched through the credits of an acclaimed summer blockbuster staring a certain masked hero. At the end of which I noticed they used Kodak's cinema film. Come to find out, after a little reading, a vast majority of television and cinema productions are still shot on Kodak film stock. This patent bid is just to get the beast rolling again. Whatever pps you've averaged down to, we'll all come out the other side with $$$
Well that was a fun spent 70 bucks.
Nice run last year...hopefully a year later we can make another, at least to .05 or so.
Fingers crossed...
good info, I was wondering what the TA may have to do w/ the new shares being issued. Thanks all for the input.
Anyone get their new shares yet?? My eTrade account still has a bunch of number...in place of where TYTN should be.
Just checked the ol eTrade account...looks like they are making the required changes. I guess this is just another promise Mark didn't deliver on. (Said with every ounce of sarcasm I have)
I know exactly what's going on....a total mind f**k.
Final pump before this gets shut down? Or are we heading to greener pastures?
Haha...whatever happens with this, 400% is still fun to see.
My Q stock is officially beating my non-Q stock. What a time we live in.....
I gave it a look, and granted its late so it wasn't a very thorough look, but couldn't find anything. Mind posting the link Bella? TIA!
Im in too. No pm though
I just have to say, regardless of the price, seeing 300% still gets me pumped.
Down the rabbit hole. 2012 here we come....
Yak the new machine looks good. Hopefully we have some exciting things to look forward to this year.
Im gonna go WAYY out on a limb here and say we're in business!
Excellent, either way it would be appreciated
Yak, congrats on the new purchase. Mind posting pictures in the next week or so??
Looks good to me...maybe a decent return in the next 6-8 months yeah??
Whatever this may be, but the fact is Mark still needs money to continue researching markets, developing programs, and building business relationships with the Chinese. Oil filters took a year...I think it gives us a pretty good idea of how long actual machinery may take.
I dont think Mark will disappoint, I just think most us want it now. I'll be the first to admit it would be nice if we could see equipment selling left and right. But for now its filters.
Mark hasn't disappointed, and I doubt he will.
I agree. This is trading at what a Q play normally does. Seriously??? And I don't have close to what others have invested with Mark. At this point I'll admit I'm starting to waver...but Mark really deserves the benefit of the doubt. As this is his first round with a public comp.
