Based on the Form 15 filed with the SEC on 10/19/2020, isn’t MZEI now considered worthless and eligible for IRS Form 8949 tax deduction?
Form 15 is “Certification and notice of termination of registration“
As it relates to claiming the loss on my taxes for my now worthless shares, did this occur in 2018 or 2019?
Eli - thank you for all the effort you have put into helping keep us common shareholders informed and educated!
It’s really troubling that the 500k shares I hold in brokerage accounts will be worthless. Please advise if there are any actions folks like me should take.
So sad that technology that can save so many lives will be unrealized.
GLTA with your other ventures.
And clearly a sickness we can’t disinfect! I’ve got it too and looking for a sanitizer.
Sounds entirely plausible to me. When automation threatens jobs, workers take action. But when the technology does the job 10x better and can save lives, progress needs to move forward. If this is really what happened, then there was a news story here that could have brought much-needed attention to the AS solution. Perhaps yet another example of how the previous management team missed opportunity.
How about they announce an ICO for SteriCoin to raise the $5M they are seeking?
Hopefully this signals good news...

Great suggestion!!! I’m still adding at this low share price as often as I can.
IMO what this company needs is an Elon Musk type person who has some innovative vision paired with an ability to drive people to deliver results.
I've been a silent, but not insignificant, investor in MZEI who has followed this forum for about five years. I fully support your nomination of WhatIsValue to the BOD!
Here here! Thank you BenK for the great work. As a long-time shareholder, it's great to see a factual representation of the current situation. I truly believe our long-time patience may be nearing positive results.
I thought the chart was great info. And Xenex is getting lots of press. So why not ride their coattails a little by continuing to show how MZEIs approach is so much more effective.

They did hire DLA Piper to enforce their patent on Aimed Optics so maybe something is happening.
http://finance.yahoo.com/news/evolucia-engages-dla-piper-130000200.html
The three big news items from the last year are:
1) ILED received a patent for its Aimed Optics technology
http://www.ledsmagazine.com/articles/2014/02/led-business-news-ge-and-crs-settle-evolucia-wins-optics-patent-more.html
2) in June, the new CEO announced his 12 month plan to recapitalize the company
http://www.marketwired.com/press-release/evolucia-shareholder-update-otcbb-iled-1925840.htm
3) they reached a settlement with the building landlord where they exchanged a $1.1M promissory note for 12M shares issued with the original lease
http://article.wn.com/view/2014/09/17/Shutdown_Evolucia_settles_with_one_creditor/
Not sure what rumor triggered today's action, but it makes you wonder why they would want those 12M shares back.
Perhaps there is something in the works related to their Patents and Intellectual Property.
They just need to hire a competent salesperson. Someone who can negotiate terms and close some deals.
IMO, the management team doesn't have the skill set to put deals together.
Happy Birthday Marines! Thank you for your service.
I know there is at least one leatherneck on this board and hopefully Ed is paying attention to the posts here as well. Since today is the 239th birthday of the most dedicated group of defenders of our way of life, I thought it would be worth pausing for a moment to celebrate with them.

Semper Fidelis!
Completely agree. The BEST technology doesn't always win. That's why I insist that they need to invest in some serious Sales & Marketing expertise.
Scientists and inventors often get caught up in their greatness and the technical superiority of their solutions. They lose sight of the fact that they need to simplify their message and forget about proving their perfection. A potential buyer needs to be able to easily see a vision of success that makes the investment worthwhile.
Don't confuse implementation with selling!
If no one ever buys it, what difference does it make if it is the BEST.
Well put. If my understanding is correct, we would need the votes of >50 million shares to drive a meeting or force some kind of management change.
ef·fi·ca·cy - the ability to produce a desired or intended result.
Proving the efficacy of AS will drive everything else. Let's focus our energy on pushing the management team to complete this objective.
Since it can't be done in the U.S., why not get Shannon and a couple systems on a plane to Saudi Arabia?
They clearly have a compelling need http://www.who.int/csr/don/03-november-2014-mers/en/
Let's spend 2-3 weeks proving the value instead of continuing to thrash while we wait for the world to discover that we have the next "scientific breakthrough."
Demonstrating efficacy will achieve multiple goals:
1) Lays the ground work for KSA to buy more units.
2) Positive press.
3) Reduces EPAs apprehension about this new pesticide called Trioxidane.
4) Gives Marshall and Shannon the notoriety they seek for saving the world (because clearly they aren't driven by money!).
5) Drives the share price to new levels.
IMO, pushing for a shareholder meeting will be a huge distraction and a waste of time/energy.
If they aren't willing to create a business plan to build a company, then lets get them out of the lab and prove to people other than the Canadians that AS really works!
This fact sheet from the National Pesticide Information Center provides a great explanation of the difference between antimicrobial pesticides (regulated by the EPA) and antimicrobial antiseptics (regulated by the FDA).
http://npic.orst.edu/factsheets/antimicrobials.html
AsepticSure is clearly in the sterilizer category of antimicrobial pesticides, and therefore, regulated by the EPA.
It is not in the antimicrobial antiseptic category because it is NOT meant for use on the body, and therefore, NOT regulated by the FDA.
However, the fact that "septic" is in the name may cause confusion.
I completely agree with you. Especially for the average investor going to the website. Fortunately, Google scans every page on the site. So as long as they continue to post fresh, keyword-rich content that is relevant to topics like Ebola, disinfection, DWOB, etc., we should begin coming up in search results.
Unfortunately, our www.alexa.com ranking is 3.2 million which is really bad... And our top 5 keywords are medizone (96%), bed bugs, inc, ozone hospital, and hospital disinfectant products. Which means there are 3.1 million websites that are visited more often and that 96% of the time the only way people are finding the site is when they include the word medizone in the search.
By writing content like daily blogs, adding links to pertinent articles, etc., medizone will continue to increase its page rank and show up in more searches related to hot topics. My guess is that they don't have anyone running Google Analytics to work on trying to improve. It's time for them to do some "growth-hacking" to build the reputation and brand.
Invest in marketing!
Medizoneint.com website. Where's the link to the Discovery Channel Video?
It looks like the website has a new improved look. It's been a while since I went to the site so I'm not sure when that might have happened.
Hopefully they will get an update to "Recent News" by tomorrow morning.
IMO they should also create a /Blog section on the site with more informal types of updates - you know, Content Marketing kinds of things on a wide variety of topics that keep people interested in coming back to the site... like http://contentmarketinginstitute.com/blog/
Have they heard of SEM http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Search_engine_marketing
Or SEO http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Search_engine_optimization
???
It's time for some Marketing!
Yes. You are absolutely right. I guess I'm a little concerned about the politics of the whole thing. It wouldn't be unlike many of our gov nuckleheads to not understand the difference and try to over-regulate!
I still think there is a possible selling point to be made that we always leave the room, all surfaces in it, and even the air in it, in far better condition than when we arrived.
Towards the bottom of this page http://www.c2es.org/federal/executive/epa/Ozone-NAAQS
"EPA is under court order to propose a new ozone quality by December 1, 2014 and finalize a new rule by October 1, 2015."
It was also mentioned in this LA Times article (for what that's worth) http://www.latimes.com/science/la-me-ozone-20140830-story.html
The Ebola scare combined with the precautions we take (sealing the room, monitoring for leaks, scrubbers) may override any concerns EPA may have about O3 leaking into the hospital environment. However, it does worry me that this could be a showstopper.
I really think MZEI needs more demo units that can be used and tested in multiple environments. I've sold a lot of technology over the last 28 years. As Geoffrey Moore very accurately explains in his book "Crossing the Chasm" http://ow.ly/D3rHi, you need some innovators to try the product early on and be able to act as references to the larger group of early adopters who come after them.
I'm beginning to believe that many of the people I've been considering naysayers on this board are right - IMO, MZEI needs to hire a management team that is focused on implementing the product in multiple locations. And then, driving sales results.
The EPA and Ozone.
After reading "The EPA's Latest Threat to Economic Growth" in August, I've been gathering info in an attempt to assess if the ozone issue might be a showstopper for AS's market acceptance and long term viability.
http://online.wsj.com/articles/the-epas-latest-threat-to-economic-growth-1407970689
Some observations:
1.Pressure from the left
As you can see from the following articles, the environmentalist left wants stronger ozone standards which potentially makes approval of a device that generates ozone a politically sensitive issue.
http://mediamatters.org/research/2014/08/20/experts-pro-smog-pollution-report-is-unmoored-f/200490
http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2014/04/30/epa-ozone-standards_n_5242426.html
2.Obama and his EPA will be ultra-careful about enabling a capitalist before they understand potential environmental impacts.
The EPA is really concerned about ozone, wants stricter standards, and must propose a new O3 rule by Dec. 1, 2014.
http://www.c2es.org/federal/executive/epa/Ozone-NAAQS
In their recent (8/29/2014) Policy Assessment, they "call into question the adequacy of the public health protection provided by the current standard." http://www.epa.gov/ttn/naaqs/standards/ozone/data/20140829pa.pdf
In 2011, Obama blocked stricter ozone standards, but he was also quoted as saying he wouldn't "roll back…rules" in order to help the economy grow.
http://www.troutmansandersenergyreport.com/2011/09/obama-blocks-stricter-ozone-standards/
3.AS scrubbers return the room to normal O3 levels.
The Room Normalization phase of the process (as described in the brochure) "convert the O3 in the room back into ambient air." The associated graphic gives the impression that the room returns to at least the same O3 level it was before the process. If we could show that AS actually lowers the typical O3 levels, that would be even better, but I doubt we could ever make that claim.
Conclusions:
IMO, the EPA won't approve AS for use until after 1) they propose their new O3 rule by Dec 1st., and 2) we can prove that the AS system normalizes the room to low enough O3 levels where hospital staff and patients are safe.
The EPA must legally propose a new Ozone-emissions rule by Dec. 1, 2014. My guess is that since AS is an O3 producing device, they don't want to approve until they get their story straight on what they will propose.
While they want stricter standards, I believe AS's scrubbers and other safeguards are sufficient to mitigate any risks and we will see approval before the end of the year.
I'm surprised we are hanging on as well as we are with all the RED in the market.
"MZEI has been mighty quiet in trading activity since mid-day yesterday and WHY that has occurred is not easily understandable."
This assumes Medizone would have an extra unit to be able to send to Dallas. I agree it would be great visibility to become part of the remediation solution.
I believe our esteemed Mr. Pentony lives in the Dallas area. Maybe he can get us some exposure.
RE: "Green... with the most recent ebola finding with the nurse in Dallas, we have a GOLDEN OPPORTUNITY to get exposure at that hospital. IMO, there is not one person in the Dallas area that wants to set foot in that hospital."

Heart to Heart International to Open Ebola Treatment Unit in Liberia
Excerpt: "Heart to Heart International, a humanitarian group dedicated to expanding global access to healthcare, already has shipped medical supplies such as protective equipment to Ebola caregivers in Liberia, and an advance team from HHI visited the country Sept. 21-29 to plan further aid. The fact-gathering trip involved a physician and two logistics experts from HHI, along with a nurse from Welch Allyn, a global manufacturer of medical diagnostic equipment and connected solutions, which has supported numerous crisis response initiatives of Heart to Heart International."

SKANEATELES FALLS, N.Y.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Welch Allyn, a leading medical diagnostic device company that specializes in helping clinicians improve patient outcomes, today announced that Vincent C. Caponi has been elected to its board of directors. Caponi will join eight existing directors, including co-Chairmen Eric Allyn and Peer Allyn Soderberg M.D.; Welch Allyn president and CEO, Steve Meyer; Tasha Allyn Given, Larry Buckelew, Barry Wilson, Greg Norden and Craig Reynolds.
FDA also gave emergency approval to this experimental ebola drug a couple weeks ago:

If they had any units to give. At this point, I don't believe they are manufacturing any additional units to be used as demonstrators or to be sold once they receive EPA approval. While I generally disagree with the negative tone of many of your comments, I believe you are right on target with this one.
They should have several, if not more, demonstration units available to send to potential high-volume buyers or for emergency relief efforts. Unfortunately this requires funding that they don't have.
Further, I don't think they have any intent to develop this into a turn-key solution. I think their only goal is to prove the science with the hope that a large, well-established medical device manufacturer will then come out of the woodwork to build units specific to their business sectors. Hope is not a strategy.
My guess is that they think they can make money by licensing the Intellectual Property rather than by building a company that can manufacture, market, sell, distribute, and maintain systems. However, I haven't seen any indication that they have the chops needed to do licensing deals.
If our our beam of light competitors could figure out how to get tons of free press from the outbreak of this horrible virus, why can't we?
Where is the mission statement and what is the commander's intent?
It's amazing that we're up a penny with the sea of red in the market right now.
Diplomat demands at high dollar hotels. Another great example in today's WSJ. Hotels could charge a premium for disinfected rooms.
Think about all the high-wealth germo-phobes who would pay extra for the treatment so they can be assured (yes, AS-ured) they are staying in a germ-free room. Would you pay a little extra to know that you're not taking bedbugs home from your recent visit to NY?

Great article this morning in the WSJ about disinfecting airplanes. Imagine what a competitive advantage it might be for a major airline to advertise bacteria-free aircraft. Would you pay a little more to fly on an airplane disinfected with AS?

Yes. Just click on the ID and click the "ignore" option.
Interest by a F500 is a testament to how big the problem is and how on track MZEI is!
I can't wait to see what the share price looks like when the revenue DOES come. I look forward to hearing MZEI's plans for revenue generation on the CC.
No. We're just tired of hearing your negativity.
