I think Mike might have a bit of an OCD problem. I check in at long intervals now. Nice to see you and Rena. The rhetoric hasn't changed much between my visits. Price has drifted down and my holding is a tad lighter now that a few months ago. Other than that, waiting ....... Got nothing to lose. It IS interesting that this dividend took place. Makes one wonder.
Regards ...to all....... - JimA
FWIW - I've had a limit order to sell in for some shares at .05. Interesting that it has not executed given the CVIA action we've seen in the last couple of days. I wonder what that means.
JimA
I'm not clear on what benefit would be realized by cancelling the preferred. That is the lowest integrity approach. Making good on the promises is not going to materially affect the company, but it at least has some good will associated with it. Cancelling them would just add to a heap of ill will. No need to do that. The cost to make good on this obligation can't be THAT expensive, can it?
JimA
There's that same interesting pattern again. The price hits a new high with a significant transaction, and then a very small transaction takes the price back down again. Eeeeenteresting.
JimA
Strange pattern. It looks like most times when there is a rise to 4.5 or 5 cents, the day ends with a small transaction that drops the price back down. That would look like an accumulation strategy. But what do I know? JimA
I think dejected is more the word. JimA
That's probably true for most of the RB posters too!
Maybe we need some of that witty cow pie reparte' to ensure a little job security? JimA
Hey, it's not so lonely over here now. Yeh, it was getting pretty bad. I was reminded of a little museum-like place called Tinkertown on the east side of Albuquerque's Sandia Mountains. The place was an old built-onto rambling house with many rooms filled with hand-carved and animated figures, all set in dioramas. But one of the most memorable items was a sign which was hung in several places, "Look what I did while you were watching television!"
Fortunately, they're not consuming much oxygen with that rhetoric! JimA
My, It's quiet here! Is everyone holding their breath? JimA
Good news would certainly be nice. There HAS to be some reward for patience, hopefully with a plus sign in front of it! JimA
Does anyone have a notion of what is behind this nice positive movement? JimA
Hmmm! Odd, everything behaves normally when I use Netscape (both show and hide). However, Internet Explorer shows the information with no way to hide it. (... and no hand/cursor where the "hide" function ought to be). - JimA
1 Year Plot - Interesting
I meant to post this here instead of RB. I just had occasion to look at the 1-year record of CVIA. Actually, it's pretty encouraging overall - bounces up and down, but even so a pretty steady increasing trend. If I were the gambling type, I might even try to take advantage of that fairly regular bouncing behavior. Hmmm, wonder if that might even account for some of the traffic in CVIA stock. JimA
Hi Rena - given the content of the RB of late, silence is a highly desirable alternative. I guess to be fair, RB's certainly been worse at times, but I haven't been able to find anything of substance or worth of late. It's just turned into a one-topic (mostly) idle chatter room.
Still hanging around, and still hopeful. JimA
I finally found my way back over here. Unlike the Sheepster, it took me a while to sort out my username and password. Oddly enough, when I did, there was some mail traffic in January in my mail, signed JimA to Craig (Tul13) that wasn't me. Wonder what that's about!
My, but it's civil over here. May it ever be so!! JimA
bird_dog - My guess is that there will be upward roller coaster behavior until it reaches some sane value, levelling out here and there when some selling takes place. And there will be selling here and there! JMHO JimA.
Mmmm, sounds like we could get the lowdown if we just catered in a decent lunch spread!! (Can we help you with that Rachel and Bird_Dog??) I appreciate all the hard work going on behind the scenes there. It's seems like it must be sorta like the Wizard of Oz, except inside out with all the smoke and huffing and puffing going on outside the Emerald Palace! Like everyone else, including y'all inside the walls, hoping for good news soon ... when the time is right! - JimA
Best wishes to you as well, and yours! And, of course, all you other persevering CVIAers hereabouts!! JimA
rf4hd - I wouldn't worry about a couple of weeks delay. A lot of deals between business get to a point where it looks like a straight shot, only to find a single detail that still needed resolution. A detail needs to be reworded, or a bit more research in a file needs to be carried out, or ....; then the results need to be communicated, then discussed to resolution. Then the agreements need to be revised, perhaps even a signature cycle reinitiated. A week or two or three can accumulate pretty fast.
I think the PR had nothing to do with the deal per se, but with all the ruckus that was building among the threaded shareholders because the commitment date came without the real McCoy being quite in shape to release.
Sure, I maybe sound a tad optimistic, but what I suggest may be happening is consistent with the way these things go, and it is as credible a guess as that of any of the chronic naysayers. So, I'm sticking with my story.
Having said that, It's puzzling to me why CVIA would volunteer any date, or even any ballpark timing, (1) given the abuse heaped on them when they miss a date, and (2) their history of not being all that good on date prediction (at least to the thread folks!). It would seem to me that either the "abuse" or the lessons learned about their expertise in predicting dates would cause them to hold off on such commitments until all the contingencies are out of the way.
My guess is that Keith is a passionate guy (DUH!) and still gets excited when things are about to break, and just can't resist telegraphing in some way that something good is headed our way. Yeh, that's it! I'll stick with that too!!
Regards - and anxious to see what transpires this next week!! JimA
Hmmmm - no zzzzzzzZZZZZZZZZ's from anyone this morning!! JimA
JNelson - I shoulda remembered how you got that moderator position (SIGH!). A bit of old-timer's disease, I fear! JimA
Maybe it will become more heavily trafficed by the regulars. I'll look in more regularly. I managed to lose my first registration information, so had to reregister. It sure was getting noisy over on RB. I dunno if you were aware of it, but this message board site was started by one of the early CVIAers. - JimA
