Withholding sales of ED to gain A better deal with partner makes no sense. Should be the other way around. Cox must be nuts.

Again I say, they are hurting we shareholders and the company's bottom line by not selling the ED product in Canada. They better have a good reason for this delay, for they could end up in court.

But these guys have their OTC products too. Over the counter products that work better than the original. And because of their tech they will keep on making more OTC products that work better.
It is a perpetual cycle of $$$

I thought, for sure, they would have the product for sale (in Canada) by now. If they had put conditions in the contact, such as A time requirement, that would have served us shareholders better.

("Angstrom" or the "Company") announced today that the Molecular Cancer Therapeutic Journal, a peer reviewed journal, has published results elucidating the cellular target of its A6 phase II compound. The collaborative effort between Apricus Biosciences, Inc. /quotes/zigman/121090/quotes/nls/apri APRI -0.48% ("Apricus Bio") and Angstrom resulted in the discovery of the mechanism of action by which Angstrom's A6 peptide blocks the migration of CD44-expressing cancer cells. Angstrom previously reported that results from a pharmacokinetic pre-clinical study showed significant improvement in the delivery and half life of A6, a proprietary peptide treatment for ovarian cancer that was in Phase II development by Angstrom. Specifically, the Company reported at that time that the incorporation of Apricus Bio's NexACT(R) technology enabled the dose of A6 to be cut by half, or from twice per day to once per day delivered subcutaneously, while achieving the same level of efficacy in the mouse lung metastasis model.

A6 is in clinical development for ovarian cancer and in preclinical development for the treatment of diabetic retinopathy and age-related macular degeneration. A6 binds to the cell surface receptor CD44 and inhibits cancer cell migration. The IC50 for A6 inhibition of chemotaxis in several human cancer cell lines is in the nM-pM range indicating a physiologically relevant mechanism. Furthermore the inhibition of cancer cell migration persists for 18-20 hours following the removal of A6. A6 is stable in phosphate buffer for more than 5 years when stored 2-8 degrees C. Selling the rights in the U. S. for such a cheap price has hurt APRI. Not only in the $ pocket-book but also now the big pharmas thought they could run over APRI. After all if APRI didn't have faith in their product or are/were so desperate to give away so much for so little the big pharmas would feel, or/and fear to look, stupid among the other big pharmas. Magnify that because the buyer of the U. S. rights would not offer to deal, with a fair price/deal, for the rest of the world.

The deal to manufacture product in Canada and dealing rights to Italy and Mid-East has took the big Pharmas out of the running for the big bucks. The big Pharmas only rational response is now to just buy APRI outright. Whether they do or not--I don't know or care, but actually I'd prefer if they didn't, as the money for us may not reach it's potential.

With APRI's other activities it is astounding how much time it is taking for this stock to rocket-even for short burst- though I'm sure it will start to do just that.

I think APRI will sell to Canada themselves if they don't deal the rights to the manufacturer. Also APRI didn't (I don't think) give themselves a head-start to Canadas approval. They will therefore have a time lag while the manufacturer passes Canadian Feds manufacturing safety and quality standards.

1) Apricus Biosciences (Apricus) has just received its first product
marketing approval – for erectile dysfunction treatment Vitaros, and
many more could follow. Next up for Vitaros is the signing of a
marketing partner for Canada, potential partners and filings on a
country-by-country basis in Europe, partnerships in other markets
(Middle East, Africa, Asia) and perhaps even some progress next year
in the US from partner Warner Chilcott. While the ED market is
somewhat mature as measured by the big 3 mega products Viagra,
Cialis and Levitra, there is still plenty of room in the market for a new
product launch, particularly one such as Vitaros which can claim rapid
onset and an easier-to-take formulation.

2) With the Company’s experience with Vitaros as a guide, Apricus’
NexMed drug delivery technology division has begun to heat up –
with recent developments in the use of this technique in the areas of
liver cancer, Raynaud’s Syndrome, and post-chemotherapy recovery.

Mr. Cox: Apricus in its present form is effectively a combination of two companies, Bio-Quant and NexMed, that merged together last year. Bio-Quant was the largest contract research organization, or CRO, in San Diego, with a focus on immunology, oncology, inflammation and metabolic diseases. NexMed has been a public company for many years. NexMed was a company that developed pharmaceutical products used in a proprietary delivery technology or the reformulation technology. Those two companies came together in December of 2009 and created what would eventually become Apricus.
What's interesting is that the two legacy businesses, NexMed USA and Bio-Quant, still function as their own stand-alone businesses, and Apricus Bio, the parent company, is really something new and exciting born out of the merger. NexMed has always focused on developing its own products based on its proprietary drug delivery technology. Bio-Quant conducts discovery preclinical services for clients. When the two companies came together and Bio-Quant's internal know-how was paired with NexMed's proprietary technology, this really exciting business opportunity came about, which is the rediscovery of the NexACT technology and its potential. We now know that the NexACT technology is capable of delivering drugs from one route to multiple routes, and from one class of drug to multiple classes.
