Add a few peanuts to the chocolate and the chicken and you have chicken mole (in any good Mexican restaurant in SA). LOL!
Happy (late) Birthday, Monk. We wish you the best!!!
Thanks, craigw! I don't know if I can even understand what he is saying, though(computer lingo stuff and barely get by in English!). I will give it a go tomorrow and see what happens.
Thanks!!
Hey, y'all! I need a little help on StockCharts. Monk said in San Antonio that there is a "5 second patch" that can be downloaded and applied to StockCharts. Could anyone give me some directions on where to go and how to do that? Thanks in advance!
I just attended the San Antonio Monkinar, and felt that I wanted to post this open THANK YOU note to Monk:
Monk, I have "messed around" with technicals for over 10 years. Always seeking that magical mix of the right combination of signals to confidently raise my liklihood of success. Never could find it. My son, who attended with me, doesn't know a Moving Average from a TRIN, from a TRIX, etc. I just want everyone who reads this to know that your Monkinar gave ME what I could not find on my own for over a decade. And my SON, with no experience in technicals, latched onto it like a pit bull! We now have the tools. Our success will depend upon our use of those (rather simple!) tools, and we are getting started TODAY!!! Thank you so much for bringing a Monkinar to San Antonio. And to all the other Den members I met (and those I did not), it was a real pleasure to share the experience with y'all! Thanks, Don and Jason! Have a great week!!
Blue, you and your knowledgeable posts are one of the reasons I am here. I didn't jump on board with CDIV until Jan of this year. Your knowledge and insight have been instrumental in assuring me that I am in the right place, doing the right thing, with the right people. Like others have already said, far more eloquently, if there was some drama earlier, fine. It's done and the "drama queens" are gone. Don't retire from posting on their account. MANY of the rest of us admire your knowledge and that you take the time and invest the effort to share that knowledge with us. Don't deprive us of such a valuable resource. Seriously, don't do that.... I'll be looking for your next post!
You've said it all, KW, and said it very well. I CHOSE to be part of something I could never have done or figured out on my own. I CHOSE to be a small part of the fabric of a great community of like-minded investors. And I CONTINUE TO CHOOSE to put my faith in this community of investors rather than scattering my efforts and resources like so many "investors" end up doing. Long and strong!
Well, the steel cased ammo does not bother me since I am not into re-loading (yet). On the other hand, if it is no longer importable, that would be a concern. Do you recall the source or the reasoning behind why it could no longer be imported? I had not hear of that before. Thanks for your info. Sorry for the delay in responding, sometimes I can be away from the web for a few days at a time.
thanks, ONEBGG. Gunbroker.com is a favorite website of mine. I know I'll find what I am looking for sooner or later. And I'm pretty certain it will be 5.45x39. ;)
Outstanding! Thanks for your help, Trinityz1. These websites should keep me occupied for awhile. They both have a wealth of AK info. Thanks again!
Nice. I book marked them to browse thru later. However, they don't appear to have any AK 74 inventory of any type. It is the 74 that I am looking for.
Will do. THX!
Thanks for the feedback, Trinityz1-
I know that Atlantic Arms has generally a poor reputation. They just happened to be the first retailer I pulled up that had the info on the Armory AK 74. That particular model (assembled/modified by Armory) has a uniformly excellent reputation, regardless of where you may purchase it from. I have not been able to find much info on milled receiver 74s. If you have any links to that info I would appreciate it. Thanks, again!
I have been considering a similar move. Here's is what I think I have settled on. A Russian made, American modified Saiga in 5.45 x 39...in other words an AK 74. The ammo has about the same ballistics as the .556 American round. The cost is about 1/3 of the .556 or 223 round. An Arsenal AK 74 Russian Rifle SGL31-61 (available through Atlantic Arms among others) is what I am referring to. No direct gas impingment problems like the AR, much simpler take down than the AR, higher reliability than the AR, much cheaper ammo than the AR, very accurate rifles. Oh yeah, and they will really rankle any AR owners/fans when you show up at the range with one (I am SO going to get clobbered for expressing this opinion! LOL). GLTU!
George Strait?! Monk, you are REALLY going to like it here in San Antonio! Bring your two-steppin' boots! LOL
Thanks, Maxell46! I can't wait!!
My pleasure, Sidney. :)
Yeah, the money part is beginning more to sound like a secondary sort of bonus item, with the main attraction being the Den. Well, OK, the money thing still is kind of primary. ;) Can't wait!!
Outstanding! Seeya down on the Riverwalk!
Yep, really looking forward to it!!!
Sidney, I just read your post about how the Densters are so supportive of each other and how reading the posts can push some of the stress of the day away from you...that is so true. I know I don't post much, but I want everyone in the den to know how much a part of a family I feel when I read comments/observations/replies, etc. I will be attending the San Antonio Monkinar in July and hope to meet some of of y'all then. In the meantime, I'll keep checking in as time permits (usually near the end of the day) just to stay in touch with the warm glow that emanates from everyone here. This is truly a phenomenal group of people. Thank you, Monk, for inspiring all of this!
Outstanding analogy!!
For kezzek and any others who doubt the MM's ability to "manufacture" air shares...watch this video. THEN tell us that you think the MMs are just a bunch of fine, upstanding, law-abiding "market makers."

Back at ya and the whole litter!
Only 40 more days! (But who's counting?) Seeya there!
Pizzaclown, I see you'll be going to San Antonio, too! Outstanding! I will look forward to meeting you there!
Darkmatter, I see you'll be attending in SA. Look forward to meeting you there! It should be great!
Hey, buwill, welcome to the Den! I don't post very often, either, but I have been following the developments here since Dec, 2009, and also have positions in C, E, and G. I'll look forward to meeting you in San Antonio at the Monkinar! GLTU!
Just a thought for all the anxious, nail-biters in the crowd (I don't think there are very many, but that is beside the point). here is my favorite quote of all time: “Nothing in this world can take the place of persistence. Talent will not; nothing is more common than unsuccessful people with talent. Genius will not; unrewarded genius is almost a proverb. Education will not; the world is full of educated derelicts. Persistence and determination alone are omnipotent. ” -Calvin Coolidge
THINK about this opportunity we have!! Individually, we are weak and powerless against the MMs. Together, with persistence and determination, we have the strength to win this contest. I love Lone Grey's picture of the wolves taking down the bison. They are us...If we will it to be. Best to all on the team!
Not to mention a totally shocked mother in law! :)
Stockbert, I'll look forward to meeting you and all the others at the Monkinar in San Antonio. ;)
Hey, Sidney- did you hear that Obama is going to fix the stock market so no one can get locked into a FLD?
Did that fix your hiccups? Just the thought SCARED ME!! LOL!
Cool! I'll be pushing double digits before ya know it! LOL! Give me a "heads up" when you start getting close to 400!
There ya go Sidney! If it something important like that I will jump right in! I don't have much to say on the boards but I love following all of y'all. GLTA
Just got a fill for 12k at .094.
Glad to know you're back safe after a successful trip! I agree with the others, it should be a fun week ahead!
Awesome analogy. Thanks, Blue.
Just picked up another 7500. Doing what I can with what I got! :)
LoneGrey, OUTSTANDING post! I have been acquiring regularly since January, when I "discovered" this team. As I have learned more and more about this form of combat, I have been intrigued and a little concerned about the openness of this board to our opponents and their ability to size things up and take countermeasures. Your explanation sheds daylight on all those concerns. Thank you for your insight and knowledge. I LOVE THIS TEAM and all the upright individuals who comprise it!! GLTA
I'm ALL for that! Mel, please make a note: if CDIV hits it that big before the Texas Monkinar, we may have to make the Texas Monkinar an "Advanced Monkinar," 'cause a whole bunch of Texans will be hopping flights to wherever the next one is we can get to! What a problem to have!
