November 28, 2011Enter… a Cut of White Space
This past weekend, Eric Potter finished a cut of White Space. There is a lot of outstanding previz that may (and will) affect the edit slightly and we are still waiting on notes from the director and other two producers… but for the most part, it is done. To say it is night and day from the first cut I saw (with a different editor) would be a drastic understatement.
Without a doubt, the two best hires of my short film career are Production Designer Jessee Clarkson and Eric. I always knew we had a good film in there, but I was definitely feeling down-and-out about where the film was headed. There were people involved with the film that wanted to move forward with the edit as it was. I went through a similar experience (although during the development phase) on my first film. I strapped my seatbelt on and refused to do it again…
From the first emails about the film, Eric understood exactly what needed to be done. He was highly recommended from a friend whose opinion of production/film I hold in high esteem, and although Eric and I had never worked together – not once did I doubt that he’d come through. He stepped into a tough situation and just killed it.
This movie is a beast. Now that the story and characters sizzle? It is going to blow people’s minds in terms of what we were able to do with what he had. I honestly don’t think people will believe us.
Potential at Seven Arts as Distribution Changes - Analyst Blog
9:03a ET November 2, 2011 (Zacks.com) Potential at Seven Arts as Distribution Changes
Ken Nagy, CFA
Seven Arts Entertainment Inc. (SAPX) is an independent motion picture production and distribution company which develops, finances, produces and licenses theatrical motion pictures, with budgets generally ranging from $2 million to $15 million, for exhibition in domestic (United States and Canada) and foreign theatrical markets. Seven Arts strategy is to build their film library up from 33 titles today, to 50 to 75 titles over the next 5 years. While earnings will be up and down and generally difficult to predict the firm should be valued on the monetization of its film library. As distribution changes at a swift pace firms that can continue to monetize creatively will benefit.
The Company has seven motion pictures (Catwalk, The Winter Queen, Mortal Armor: The Legend of Galahad, Romeo Spy, Voodoo Museum, The White Lily and Neuromancer) in development that are expected to be released within the next two to three years. In addition to the domestic titles, Seven Arts also released Knife Edge (October 2009) as a United Kingdom DVD premiere and Night of the Demons (September 2010) in the United Kingdom theatrically.
The number of films produced is shrinking and major studious have cut back on distributing smaller budget pictures and have focused on large budget pictures and franchises. Seizing on the opportunity of fewer films produced, Neuromancer could provide significant revenues beyond what is typical of Seven Arts films.
Effective monetization of the film library is critical as technology changes. Seven Arts must continue to find new ways to monetize these assets in order to grow the library with new films.

Update:
PLEASE STAND BY as we decompress after a long journey into White Space===
and thanks for allowing us a few days to unwind after a grueling, but rewarding, schedule in L.A. on set with the company’s first feature, ‘White Space’. We’ll be sharing details of the project, retroactively, so as to stay in line with our news strategy on the industry side of things- so stay tuned for announcements on Key Crew members, Product Placement, upcoming projects and development news on George R.R. Martin’s The Skin Trade! If there was ever a time to get involved with Mike the Pike Productions from the ground up, 2011 is the year to do it. More from Ryan's site "A grueling two months, but we wrapped principle on WHITE SPACE last night. Movie is going to be a lot of fun fans."
moving into post-production. Noted on Ryan's twitter. That's good, right, but wish we had news on casting or anything meaningful really
He keeps talking about it in the PR's and he mentions it again in the video he posted
Does an uplist mean another reverse split?
wondering how many are holding and if there are any rumors a float

Mike the Pike Productions, Inc. Announces Feature Film Version of Spokefish's R.E.M.
9:15a ET March 8, 2011 (Business Wire)
Mike The Pike Productions, Inc.(OTC: MIKP)(www.mtpprods.com) is pleased to announce that it has partnered with Spokelane Entertainment to produce a feature film adaptation of its graphic novel, R.E.M., a dark sci-fi thriller in the spirit of mind-benders like 'Memento' and 'Pi'. The project has already received initial financing for development and producers are thrilled to be launching a motion picture counterpart to the graphic novel toward beneficial cross-promotion for both projects set for completion in 2011.
Writer/Producer, Ryan Colucci (www.harbor-moon.com, Battle for Terra) is set to direct and is currently in Los Angeles filming a 'prequel' component for its development package titled '4.2.3.', which, as Colucci states on his blog over the weekend, "is a prequel to R.E.M. - but stands on its own as a short film." '4.2.3. will be produced as a comic that will appear as Issue #0 in the digital release of the R.E.M. series by Spokefish. Details forthcoming.
MTP and Spokelane will be out to agencies for key crew and cast after the project wraps later this month. The short promises to impress with some of the city's hottest locations and www.filmworksfx.com on board for post and special effects. Also on board to produce is Luiza Ricupero Negret (producer, 'Toward Darkness'), who formerly served as manager/director of production, development and acquisitions at Myriad Pictures.
"The short is a tremendous asset to our package out to distributors/investors for the feature adaptation of Spokefish's R.E.M.," states Producer and MTP CEO, Mark B. Newbauer. "It's also a testament to Colucci's commitment to the project, not to mention his passion for the story's characters outside the confines of the original script. Ryan and I are thrilled to see R.E.M. taking on a life of its own as we officially announce the Feature component to the series and are currently in negotiations with financiers to fund the picture. We, at Mike the Pike Productions, are thrilled with news to come on this and other projects on our slate and will announce as permissions are received by 3rd parties."
Progress continues on Spokefish's slate of graphic novels with Bulderlyns, R.E.M. and Chasing Rabbits all in ink and coloring stages, with announcements to come toward a completed slate by mid-year.

In New York City, behind a series of locks, lives Michael Letto, a brilliant but paranoid neuroscientist. Since his first and only love died, he's become consumed with unlocking the mystery of sleep.
Based on ancient practices, Michael sets forth to devise a chair that enables one to attain a full nights sleep in a matter of minutes. His theories bring him to the attention of both the military and a shrouded religious order that will stop at nothing to attain his secret.
As Michael grows closer to realizing his dream, he starts to unravel, trapped in an inescapable nightmare as visions of his lost love worsen.
MTP Producers Ryan Colucci, Beth Newbauer and Mark B. Newbauer present: George R.R. Martin's THE SKIN TRADE: From the best-selling author of the Song of Ice and Fire series comes this white knuckle chiller with a string of unsolved murders immersed deep in lycan lore: When a series of grotesque killings strikes her small hometown, private detective Randi Wade becomes suspicious. The grisly murders remind her all too much of her own father's death nearly 20 years ago. Now there is a killer in town who not only slays his victims, but also takes their skin. Undaunted, Randi takes the case head-on as the murders continue, each more brutal than the last. When a close friend suddenly becomes a target, he is forced to reveal a startling secret about himself and Randi is quickly pulled into a dark world within her own town where monsters do exist and even they have something to fear...
MTP & Horseplay, LLC present: HORSE - a wild ride through the streets of Ft. Wayne on a night no one will forget...if they live to remember...as they take part against some not-so-friendly parties on the prowl for a missing bag of Heroin. It's a race against time for a club-owner, a drug mule, two college kids and a sadistic Irish kingpin in from Chicago to reclaim his stake.

News out for ADCS. Wonder what that could mean for us ... maybe something in the pipeline ready to unfold for MIKP.
I'm recycling, at 100%, so I can acquire more. Fully anticipate a greater return at a later date; provided, we ever get news to increase PPS.
Still loading .... I've had a sell order in for a month. If people are buying, why do mine sit in wait?
I'm almost ready to take my money and run. The anticipation is killing me. Come on boys! Let's get the party started ...
