Revlis, will the staff report be public ?
thanks,bj
Bellacoola, if you believe compensation committees look after anyone other then themself, look at the companies that management were paid Billions a few days before they collapsed.

while on the subject of cash on hand, I hear about larger returns from some of the corp. what do these corporation do or how do they invest these large sums of money they have on hand, can anyone answers that question.
thanks
bj
thanks my3, I failed to consider the ALJ's position in this.
Revis, there is something that bothers me in the reading of the term sheet that I have not heard anyone question so maybe it means nothing, but for the agreement to be final the first installment must be made, and it states, " the first installment to be made in early 2009 ", when is early 2009 ? that could be Jan. Feb. Mar. seems that leaves a lot of lattitude for Sammy to drag their feet if they want to. Any comment.
TIA
bj
maybe I have missed it but wht happens between the alj ruling and the final cosmmission determination ? is there no ban during that time?
just so its not like when it was halted at the motorola trial; the stock was halted at $12.00 and opened up 2 or 3 days later at $5 and something.
tringle, i personally have no knowledge skill or advice concerning this stock although i have been a stockholder almost since it went public, back when it was immc and have been through all the heart burns and panic attacks this stock can produce but i still can't be of any help, or frankly i don't believe anyone else can. I can only say I have a friend who has a 6 figure holding in this co.and has been in it since its inception and is very familiar with the co, not that he has any inside info.who is holding tight, I,m up to my neck in it and i'm holding, and i expext that you and I and many others have been in this so long we really have no choice. I,m to old to attempt to reinvest so i must gamble that maybe this one time we'll all get what we have waited so long for.
But what I really wanted to remind you of, about 6 weeks or 2 months ago someone posted a very compeling analysis on IDCC stating that with the present licensee we now have and the potential of the new licensees like apple rimm etc. this could be a $60.00 stock without Nokie or Sam. I don'remember who this was, perhaps someone else could remember. To me this was very encourageing and I hope will help you also.
bj
BIM525, I"M not an experienced trader but have had some bad experiences with stops: first the premarket and aftermarket does not affect your stop it won't execute during that period but the stock price will change and your stock will go off at what ever it opens at the next day, but asided from that there has been many occasions when an 8k or some message hits the wire the message can be msinterpreted for perhaps just a few seconds, the stock will drop 2,3 or 4 points and immediately recover, you get stopped out and you then have to pay a much higher price to get back in if you want, and you lose your capital gain status if you had one, and believe me this can happen more times then you would think.
bj
I would be on the fence with that question, but I gathered something else from BM that excited me more then anything else. When being asked about rates and settlements he was firm in his position that he would not be frightened or bullied into accepting anything short of what they feel they should be getting, and they are in the position now with the patents they posess, and potential of OTHER licensees, they can do without the likes of Nokies. To me that that was a powerful statement as to our continued success in spite of a negative ruling Nov. 25th. Did anyone else pick up on that ?
BJ
if its true that sam 111 has no linkage to sam 11 then what is sam 111 all about ? IF THE NY court rules in our favor does this make the sam 111 moot ? if so why, if there is no linkage. if the court rules in our favor and there is an appeal which is almost certain, will sam 111 continue to proceed ? will someone please help a very confused lurker.
Sailfreeee,thanks, I didn't read far enough.
Jim, or anyone, how does the Broadcom & Qualmcomm issue impact IDCC as stated by Maralala.
thank
bj
Jim, I have heard speculations that the delay with Sam.could be that they are trying out our chips before they make a decision on an agreement, have you or anyone heard any comments on this, or does it make any sense ?

cnbc streamer shows idcc down $1.24
mschere, the figures you quoted on HTC has caught my interest, but, I can't find anything, the only HTC I can bring up is a Hungarian Telecom. co. are they not traded on any American exchange, even via ADR's? thanks for any help.
BJ
thanks plumear, I have a broker working on this if I find anything I will advise; this could be something worthile, $35M isn't much to get started with but i'm sure Harry must see something here.
bj
plumear by any chance is this company on the market, any market?
bj
thanks sailfreee, you're not as far from being a lawyer as I am.
bj
while we are asking questions, can the appellate court deny the appeal, and if not is the court required to grant a jury trial as requested by nokie.
thanks
bj
please excuse my 2 incompleted posts something fell on my keyboard. my questions is what possible harm could come from Idcc announcing to the public that they are negotiating with nokie nothing of any substance would be revealed and the results could go either way. another question that has been asked but I haven't seen an answer; is the appellate court required to hear this appeal ? and if so does it have to be tried by a jury as requested by Nokie?
thanks,
bj
teecee, thnaks, when you said " money mkt." I was under the impression you were talking about the traditional money mkt. funds established by brokerage house, banks etc. where you can park your money short term and take it out anytime without penalty which is well below 2% anywhere I know of.
bj
teecee, where can you find 4% money mkt. funds ? would appreciate your help.
bj
a couple of questions for anyone; how damaging would a loss in the UK trial be, and, if the judge does not rule on the spot in the NY trial approx. how long will it be before he is likely to rules ?
thanks,,bj
OT dndodd, did this not happen also with kmart and the original shreholder retained their shares.
bj
ot if the reorganization is successful and the co. get on its feet what would be the purpose of a new issue ? didn't united go tho. this successfully.
thanks
bj
OT SPREE, I assume you are implying a outright bankruptcy by delta that the stock would be worthless, a chapter 11 would allow the company to continue to operate and stock would coniinue to trade. am I wrong ?
thanks
bj
cnbc just showed IDCC up.05 cents after showing 2 streamer ffigures of down 18 and 22
anyone, for us less informed non-legals, what takes place at the hearing on Oct. l4th. both paries I assume will state their case but what happens after that, does the court decide at that time, is this a preliminary to a trial or what.
thanks.
bj
question to a legal; I thought i read in the court ruling made yesterday that the ruling was made " with prejudice ", I know this has some legal meaning in reference to appeal or bringing this back to court again, could someone explain.
thanks,
bj
Jim, thanks, that answer is about as nebulous and abstract as my question was, along with all the other questions.
bj
when is this final judgement suppose to come.
bj
franklin, a good question and begs the question of where is the end to all of this? we have been led to believe that the arb. ruling was final, no appeal, no further litigation except in very extraordinary circumstances. Is there no Supreme court type of ruling that is absolute, conclusive and final without any further legal loopholes avaliable to this soap opra.
bj
Jim and I applaud your efforts and you are doing an admirable job.
bj
Jim i'm sure their comments are results of fustration and disappointment in the performance of the stock, and after 17 yrs of being a IDCC stockholder I can relate to that feeling. Perhaps bashing may have been to strong a word butI believe that any negative comments about management has a detremental effect on its performance especially when you have a stock that is already on the fence as to which way it is going, that is from the publics prespective. Very little analysts coverge, no brokerage coverage, negative comments from various sources including the media, so you don't need many uncomplementary comments to deter an investor. If I was researching a stock to buy and found the comment that I have seen on this board being posted I would stop and say, whats going on, if the stockholders of this company are that unhappy with management, and we all know that management is the detemining factor in the sucess of a co. then something very serious is wrong, and you surely know it doesen't take much to spook a potential buyer. It may be only a few of these but 1 story told 50 times has the same effect as 50 stories. This was all I intended. Thanks for the reply.
BJ
"QuartzmanO" since spanking hasen't worked less try " positive reinforcement".
I am dumfounded by the number of people who are bashing management, I can't believe that someone would put money in a company and then condem it's management, I see no diffenrence than opening up a busisness and then running ads stating what a rotten bunch of people run the place. We need to reflect where this company has come from. It's only been a few years since they were selling stock to meet the payroll, since that time they have over 20 companies payint revenues in excess of $ 100 mil.a year, they have in excess of $ 100 mil. in the bank and virtually debt free, they have purchased between 5 and 10 million dollars of their stock back and made acquisitions of close to $ 20 mil of new co's or patent rights. As a sstockholder in IDCC over 15 yrs. and having a considerable amount of my portifolo in this stock I resent these criticism. I see nothing productive in these efforts. Psychologists say that every human bing craves recognition, and that 4 out of 5 crave sympathy and I don't believe that our management team is any different, if you critics want to really help the company send them a telegram complementing them on the success they have had, or for that part this board could send them a letter on behalf of the entire board that we know what they are going through and the disappointments they are experiencing and that we are behind them 100 %,I will promise you this will get more results than all the critical remarks you can come up with. I'm convinced that management is saying Dam the Mororola, Erickson, nokia torpedoes we intend to make this company a success regardless of the mine fields we have to navigate. They have stated that this co. does not evolve around Nokia, they are in discussion with over 2o potential co's now, we have just won the biggest law suit in the co's history and I am convinced that what ever the outcome with nokia is that this company and its management team will not roll over with defeat but will abide by the old philosophy that every failure is a step closer to success if we dont't give up.
bj
thanks TFWG, with that batting average you should be on the IDCC team, would a couple hundred thousand option entice you ?
bj
twfg, thanks; how long do they have to respsond ?
