Stupidity & Luck
The allowing of BLLN to be halted trading was pure stupidity and it totally agitates me as a staunch supporter of the BLLN Team to see this happen, especially since many of us continually warned them that this would happen. In spite of this short term glitch I suppose if you were ever going to chose a time to be halted this last 6 months was opportune since no one is buying venture stocks so we really haven't suffered - good luck?? Obviously the sooner they file and get us re-listed we will feel much better.
Any project that can remain in business through constant financing in this type of market must have a very viable project. The bankers have been pumping very large amounts of money constantly to keep Qtrax and BLLN alive and the record companies still support the concept. It seems irrational to think all these sophisticated groups would continue to work with BLLN management if they didn't firmly believe that the concept and management are valid.
Notice that they are still in business - many on this site predicted years ago they would be gone and living on the streets. In my very humble opinion it is totally amazing that they have survived through one of the most difficult monetary crises in modern history where venture money has essentially disappeared. Look at the stock price of most small cap companies and I make my point - low stock prices and negligible trading volumes.
Now we do what BLLN supporters have learned to do too well - we wait - ho hum!
Finally 8 k is filed - Yes they are still very much in business!
Item 8.01 Other Events
Brilliant Technologies Corporation (the “Company”) has submitted an offer of settlement with the Securities and Exchange Commission (the “Commission”) to resolve an outstanding proceeding revoking the Company’s registration of securities for its failure to file periodic reports with the Commission in violation of Section 12(g) of the Securities Exchange Act of 1934 (the “Exchange Act”). As a result, the Company’s registration will be revoked pursuant to Section 12(j) of the Exchange Act. The Company executed the offer of settlement on July 12, 2012 pursuant to Rule 240(a) of the Rules of Practice of the Commission. The settlement will be completed upon the Company’s furnishing of a Certificate of Corporate Resolution to the Commission.
Once the settlement is complete, the Company plans to file a Form 10 Registration Statement with the Commission by September 30, 2012 in order to register the Corporation’s securities. To further facilitate this matter, the Company is working with its independent auditors, Marcum LLP, in connection with the filing of the Form 10.
Do a search on Google at Qtrax Lenco.
Form your own opinions. Of course we all know Qtrax is "dead" according to the "experts" here. Of course no one of credibility would ever do a deal with them as no one would ever believe Qtrax could work. Of course there must not be any record company contracts enabling Lenco to use the music downloading! All these contracts and business dealings must be getting completed by uninformed lawyers, technicians, and businessmen.
Wait for the new angle of discrediting now to start - again.
Enjoy your weekend and thank you BLLN for sticking to your plans - better delayed than not at all.
Baidu is the Google of Asia
To answer the question of who Baidu really is I lifted this from their site. I understand they have the lions share of the Asian search market as well as most of the searching for illegal downloading sites in Asia. You can search out their full filing with the SEC to get their earnings numbers or pull up a chart on their stock. The deal with Baidu and Qtrax is for music download searches and could be huge once it starts.
The Baidu Story
Many people have asked about the meaning of our name. "Baidu" was inspired by a poem written more than 800 years ago during the Song Dynasty. The poem compares the search for a retreating beauty amid chaotic glamour with the search for one's dream while confronted by life's many obstacles. "…hundreds and thousands of times, for her I searched in chaos, suddenly, I turned by chance, to where the lights were waning, and there she stood." Baidu, whose literal meaning is hundreds of times, represents persistent search for the ideal.
Baidu chose a poetic Chinese name because it wants the world to remember its heritage. As a native speaker of the Chinese language and a talented engineer, Baidu focuses on what it knows best - Chinese language search. Applying avant-garde technology to the world's most ancient and complex language is as challenging as it is exciting. At least people here at Baidu think so. As having diligently disclosed in the Prospectus of our recent Initial Public Offering, we believe there are at least 38 ways of saying "I" in Chinese. It is important that we master all the ways of addressing oneself in Chinese because our users depend on us to address every one of their daily queries. And trust us, pin pointing queries in the Chinese language is an art rather than a science.
Our mission is to provide the best way for people to find information. To do this we listen carefully to our users' needs and wants. Have we collected all the Chinese web pages they want to see? Are the pages current and up to date? Are the search results closely related to their queries? Did we return those search results instantly? To improve user experience, we constantly make improvements to our products and services. For example, we introduced "phonetic" or "pin-yin" search which allows our users to type in Chinese keywords using English alphabets. This feature is designed to skip the switching from English inputting to Chinese inputting and for when the user is not sure of the written form of a keyword. Our users definitely notice the many little things that we do differently to ensure a simple and reliable search experience every time.
In addition to serving individual users, we also serve as a media platform for online marketing customers. We not only provide our customers easy access to one of the largest online audiences in China but also targeted groups with defined interests as indicated by queries. Unlike traditional online advertising services which charge by flat fee, our marketing products and services are performance based. Our Pay for Performance model has taken the market by storm because it is cost effective and measurable.
We know that a lot of interesting things are going on in the Internet space, but we don't want to lose focus. China's Internet search industry is only a newly discovered territory. We see vast untapped grounds in our home base and we believe there are still plenty of prizes to be claimed by the best players.
Baidu Back in the Mix??
From the last interview I saw that Lance and Allan are again talking about the Baidu agreement.
"The 2008 launch was probably a blessing in disguise," said Qtrax co-president Lance Ford, who was recently in West Palm Beach with the other half of the company's presidency, founder Allan Klepfisz. "We have survived where most startups from that time have failed."
And as a result, Qtrax is introducing its service country by country worldwide. They're taking advantage of an Asian market that doesn't have iTunes, and they even have an agreement with China's estimable search engine, Baidu. Baidu will steer music-related queries to Qtrax.
Qtrax's music downloading service, which is free to customers, is using an ad-supported model to work - unlike iTunes, which is pay-as-you-download, or subscription-based services like Rhapsody or the modern-day version of Napster, which charge a monthly rate to download a set number of songs.
In Qtrax's case, the music you download is free, so long as you play the music in the company's player. The files are saved as Windows Media files with Digital Rights Management protection."
Great Interview with AK
The Fox Online interview went very well and we should be pleased that AK is now starting to promote the Company. Someone should post the interview section here once it is available from Fox. I hope that they continue to do the media exposure of the true benefits of Qtrax. I've heard that the interview tape is going to be posted to all the Fox online countries so let's call this a "start" with more to come. The volumes on the test are not what they are looking for, it's operational functionality. Find the flaws, repair them, and then do the full launch. It appears we are closer than ever.
They are still using the Beta site and will continue to do so until everything is working right - smart, in spite of what everyone thinks. All the operating criticism by people here is being taken into account and the few problems regarding the site are being corrected as they are found, as people are noting on a daily basis. So all the operational gripes are actually helping them - thanks, keep it up.
Stock Price is Irrelevant
Until Qtrax gets their audience numbers up, their business model working, their filings done, we are all still in the wait mode. We are finally on track with the Qtrax forward progress and it will take time for that to reflect into the stock - IMHO. I certainly don't mean this is a negative way, just a practical observation. A few pennies here or there are not what we all invested into BLLN for. From the beginning we knew it was a huge risk - an amazingly unique story with a thousand potential pitfalls. This last few weeks is merely the first stepping stone of proving that they are far from dead in the water. It also is the beginning of disproving the myriad of doomsday theories that have been put forward.
Anyone can be a critic, aways the easiest path, but those of us who have stayed the course could be that one step closer to seeing the Company start moving ahead, the stock will soon follow if they stay this new course. High risk is not for the light-hearted. Have a good weekend.
I*** Represents 10 -12% of World Market
Asia is Over 92% mp3 what's an "I something" over there? Irrelevant market. Afraid to post anything, waste of my time to get removed constantly.
Have a nice weekend.
A Little Reality Check
As wonderful as this is with the new test site now commencing trials, I as an investor, will be much more impressed once we start to see actual press releases from the Company. Saying that, I also feel after 35 years in this business that it is going to take a lot of buying to clean out all the people who are simply tired and just want to get their money back. That means a strong PR program based on reality of operations, and, back to what I have stated many times in the past: Get the volume of down-loaders and then we can get some market credibility - that is as obvious a statement for any investor as you can find. Volume=Revenue=Higher Stock Price
Now we can also see the total discrediting of the lies that have been posted about Allan and BLLN. These now visible commencement operations are not being done with "money fumes", but must be with serious financial backing. Allan is not out of his apartment, no phony arrest warrants have ever been issued, he has stayed the course, continued to raise money and has not been a seller of BLLN. Just a a simple fact here here about the stock - BLLN cannot sell or issue shares to anyone for sale as they have reached their allowable limit of issued capital. That occurred years ago. They cannot issue new shares until they do a complete auditing and submission to the SEC to get back on the OTC or better. Do some DD to find these things out before making libelous comments.
All the ridiculous scuttlebutt about Allan's activities about the stock and personal attacks are just that - ridiculous. To be fair he was terribly mistaken several times to announce prematurely what he did believe would happen, much of which was based on the anticipation of promised funding which did not ultimately occur - until recently. He and his team have miraculously kept our investments alive by weathering the financial storm from the last few years and now appear to be on their way to giving us a real product - building functionality, and, fully at the approval of all the major labels. Qtrax could very well become the World's largest library of all International music - totally free, legal, and super fast in searching and downloading. I'm patiently waiting.
This is merely a first "baby" step and I want to see a lot more positive happenings before I become overly excited. Thank goodness we are at least on the right track.
By the way have you read about all the problems Baidu is having regarding pirated music?
Enjoy our moment here, let's hope it is not brief!
Dual Sounds to Listen To
First the downloaded popular songs such as Taylor Swift, Justin Bieber, Santana, just to name a few, are being downloaded and listened to for FREE. Great clear sound. Now would the record companies stand for all this for one minute without shutting them down? Perhaps there are some reasons for everyone to think about - maybe those contracts are indeed still in place after all!
Second that scurrying sound you hear is the doubters running for cover. Be prepared now for an over-whelming wave of criticism on the "problem" with everything that the whiners can come up with. Sure hope they are not short for believing their own trash talk!
Enjoy the moment - one good day in the market is not the end all or cure all as we all know, but at least Qtrax is going in the right direction for a change.
And by the way, if Allan does follow this site - Bl**dy good work Mate, and thank you so much for your perseverance and not succumbing to the mind-numbing negative nonsense spewed here! Most of us simply wait in the background, often frustrated, but we believe that you and your team will ultimately make it all come together - therefore we are staying the course. Too bad for all those investors who may have panicked out at under one cent when this site was creating mass hysteria to get everyone to sell. This small cap investing is certainly not for the faint of heart.
Amazing Foresight
Having been in this business for over 35 years it never ceases to amaze me how when a stock is weak so many people brag about being "out", even short, and then brag about their intuition for having the incredible foresight to dump their shares just before a correction and go on to ridicule those that lacked their "perception" to follow their lead.
In the same vein here we have Mr. Neg himself now bragging about his tiny buy at .006. You and Nostradamus are one in the same - true prophets. How can we possibly survive without your amazing foresight?! With all the truly nasty insinuations of wrongdoing against management that you have made over the years I cannot perceive how you could ever, ever, ever, ever decide to buy this stock. No way that the profit motivation could offset your demonstrated hatred for anyone involved with BLLN - must be the realization that in the background the Company is indeed turning around. Time will tell. Searching for the right word here....hypocritical comes to mind.
What If??
What if Q, you had panicked out at the brilliant advice offered by the posters here at .007 instead of being a buyer? How happy are the possible sellers due to the "invaluable" advice being given here by the BLLN haters trying to create a panic sell off - or was that a panic sell-off? We'll never know.
Perhaps we could start to see posting of some proper info if the negs weren't so aggressive, and wrong. Most of us prefer to just sit back and finally let our team do their job. No point in posting info and then be attacked for making positive comments.
Enjoy the ride and good luck.
Long Way to Go
Coming back to this site is like reentering a war zone Darth. All you are doing is feeding fodder to their ravings! 98% of the posters here want BLLN to fail or they will lose their opportunities for "I TOLD YOU SO's" That would be devastating to them. Now that their forecasts of a "zero" value has been thwarted they will have to increase their negative comments, if that's possible!
Those of us loyal to BLLN realized a long time ago that this Company needed four main events to occur in order to implement a revolutionary technology:
1.Money and lots of it - hopefully that is finally starting to arrive
2. Commitments from all the record producers to utilize the Qtrax technology and open up their libraries
3. High volume attraction to the Qtrax site for downloading the music. Volume visits = high revenue = decent stock prices
4 For us actual shareholders we need them to list on a more reliable exchange if they are going to get serious long term market support
Over the years I've said that if the above points were met then it was the number of visits that would ultimately determine the success of the marketing model. We know it works for the Facebooks of this World, so the big question is whether it will work for BLLN. For the first time in history music will be given away free - legally. If that is not a questionable thought for possible investment bankers to delay and ponder over during a period of risk aversion I don't know what is. Staying alive during this type of environment requires monumental perseverance and in spite of all the nonsensical comments here, AK has kept our opportunities in this unique concept alive. Obviously we have a ways to go, but just perhaps the sun is rising.
Small cap technologies have gone through one of the roughest periods for fund raising, that is, high aversion to risk taking, and some of you may remember from one of my last postings that I could see the tables turning towards the higher risk investing beginning to change several months ago. Perhaps BLLN is now getting more than just their keeping alive money and will be able to launch soon. All we can do is wait for them to start letting us know what is going on in the background. With all that said, remember that one good day does not make for a new coming! We need some accurate news before we can get too excited. In the meanwhile we can at least enjoy our one day of relief and feel comfortable about AK and crew sticking to the program in spite of the 98% here that have wanted them to throw in the towel.
I wish everyone, pro and con, a Happy New year and hope that the "pros" have the ultimate smiles in 2011 and beyond.
Please just speak for yourself
Many of the loyal shareholders, just because we got tired of either being abused or were fed up with simply providing fuel for rants, doesn't mean we have disappeared. Therefore your comment "but as it stands now there is not a single person on this planet that will give him the time of day, nor should they" only may represent a small band of dissenting shareholders and agitated sellers who took a loss. Those of us that still believe in the concept, AK, and the Company are still there and are still accumulating and, in spite of the rumours, they have not been closed down or evicted. What nonsense. It is our right to win or lose but please don't generically brand everyone as being out or dissatisfied. The Asian investment community is giving him the time of day and we can only hope that finally something more than keeping alive money is on the horizon.
Complex projects require huge patience and those of us still "in" just plain feel that talk, unless there is something significant like the closure of another illegal downloading site is worth mentioning, then it is posted. Everyone is concerned about the delays but it doesn't mean we are running for the hills or scurrying around the yard yelling "the sky is falling"! If you are unhappy then sell, your prerogative. We simply do not agree with your opinions, so please stop the generalization as being for all shareholders as you are grossly mistaken.
Appreciate Your Comments - Now Mine
Thank you for you comments. Perhaps if everyone monitors their comments and tries to keep this site more neutral and most important, civil, we could get more sensible discussions going.
Firstly I am simply an investor and as such am biased in my opinions, if I wasn't a believer, then I would be out - very simple. Occasionally I get the opportunity to talk with management and have attempted to relate what I can to this site but I suppose my sarcasm results in being deleted. I will try here to show a different point of view and curb my agitation.
To no one's surprise the pirating of music is putting the music producers into serious jeopardy. Without a new marketing concept they will go out of business. Going out of business will kill the artists who make the music as they will not have distribution, sales, or money, so they will be back waiting tables, etc. The pirates will no longer have music to steal. All very simplistic but relatively accurate.
The BLLN/Qtrax marketing and distribution systems, and technology, provides a potential new revenue source for the industry by allowing free and legal music downloading. HOWEVER - the big problem from day one has been obtaining the significant funding to give confidence to the producers to relinquish their best music for fear of not being paid. At the same time they like the total concept and have signed contracts with Qtrax to further explore, i.e., take a chance that it just might work. Their lawyers and due diligence experts took a long time before making these decisions. It would be safe to assume they know more about their business than any of us here.
Before everyone who doesn't like this concept goes over the deep end again, at least realize that these contracts not just with producers, but also with distribution channels such as Baidu, offer a large potential for success - if they can obtain large funding, not just the "stay alive" money they have been raising. Those smaller fundings have kept the Company alive through one of the most difficult venture raising periods in the last 30 years. Good job, but not enough to win the Cupie Doll!
Investors in BLLN have been at high risk since inception and we all were fully aware of the potential for failure - new technology, unique marketing plan, no major funding, and listed on the Pinks. I can't think of many projects that could be of higher risk. As the saying goes, if you can't take the heat ...., sell. To be fair in my comments I have been a buyer of more stock over the last few weeks and am fully aware of the risk. My choice. The amounts involved won't put me out of business nor cause me mental duress. What others do is their business.
The BLLN team, like any tiny venture company, has made a multitude of errors and in hindsight should have kept more quiet about their plans and failed opportunities, which, to prevent more of the ad nauseum reminders here, may have been serious judgement errors.
My friends and clients [are NOT shareholders] overseas love the concept and have been downloading the limited music library until recently as there has been a site operational glitch, which will be rectified shortly, and is expected to be back up this week. This is why you run test and beta sites - find your problems before a full launch.
In conclusion we are still faced with their number one problem - larger funding. Which would you prefer - have them give up because it "ain't" easy out there, or keep fighting to get this unique concept operational. At that point, if it comes, then will be the true test of whether you "build it and they will come" actually works.
It isn't over until the Company is out of business and the "fat lady's singing" can't be downloaded for free! Have a good day and enjoy the wait.
Agree totally
I agree with your comments and have decided to give this biased site a pass. Too many positive benign comments deleted. BLLN will succeed but why spin your tires here?
I Was Not Wrong
The rantings came fast and furious as predicted! I am not part of this Company so I can't say when and if their main launch will commence, nor would I, unless there was a news release to back it up. Name calling is not going to solve the existing shareholders problems. Anyone reading this site has full knowledge of your and other agitated investors opinions. Not everyone has to agree with you, nor do we. What we do know is that downloading on a limited basis is working well in Asia and now they have to drive downloaders to the site - that is, a product awareness program, which is now underway. Money will allow full access to complete music libraries, until they have the funds the downloading will be limited. The important thing at present is that the sites work and have been working well -that is a "good thing".
You are out, sold, money in hand, losses booked, so it is easy to be a vengeful critic and trash any activities that they are undertaking as they may just prove you wrong. What would you have them do, as I've asked - totally quit? Especially should they just shut down now that you have sold all your stock and now can only cry in your milk about your "big" losses. Would shutting down 6 - 7 years of hard work and millions of dollars in R & D investments make you happy? Should they sacrifice the money and loyalty of most of their investors because you don't like their admitted errors and dedication? What is your solution to their problems - anyone can be a critic, a no brainer, as we've witnessed, but what concrete solutions can you provide that would assist them. Give us some insight rather than caustic comments. Use your brain for something other than vindictiveness.
There is still a huge/mega opportunity for BLLN to be successful and I would like to think that they will continue to make everything come together for us retaining, remaining shareholders. One good financing clears their debt very fast and certainly ends the few lawsuits that could be out there. Creditors want their money, not bankruptcy, so they would want to work with them to get their money and hopefully have a long business relationship. The big "if" is getting the larger amounts - they have been successful in obtaining "keeping the company alive money" in spite of all the obstacles and difficult times.
I am not avoiding talking about the stock being a hold, for myself, I am totally holding, what everyone else does is their business.
A Different Point of View
No one can blame so many of these negative comments, and, although many are distorted, many are right. The delays and inaccurate launchings have no doubt discouraged many investors. Discouraged, disappointed, agitated, whatever your sentiment, does not mean that we are in the tank, toast, finished, etc. These delays have no doubt cost BLLN/Qtrax many credibility problems, to say the least, however, it doesn't mean that they should just give up because investors are fed up with the delays. What possible good would shutting things down now that they have spent 6 - 7 years trying to implement a new marketing concept. Will we shareholders be any better off with the company dead, or should we feel pleased that at least management believes so intently to forge ahead and prove every negative here wrong? There is no joy in the so-called "lifestyle" that they have to endure fighting for funds to keep their, and our, dreams alive. Anyone who has spent large amounts of time away from home and family, under great financial duress, knows exactly how difficult their lives really are, and have been. Anyone having to endure "sardines or lobster" meals over extended periods knows that this travel life is pure unadulterated h*ll!
From day one, when we put our money down, everyone knew that the risks were high - Pink Sheet stock, poor track record, serious errors in judgement, and a unique and innovative music marketing plan. The first time in history that music would legally be just given away. Anyone investing in this idea had to know the risks, that goes without saying. Now we wait to see if the risk is worth it - that is venture investing, an often painful wait. These gyrations in stock prices are a nightmare.
Over the decades that I/We have been involved with risk investment we have seen, and painfully experienced, many good ideas fail due to lack of funds, not lack of concept or management integrity. Money for venture capital has never been this difficult in the last 30 years since the 20% interest days of the early 80's. Somehow Allan and team have raised the funds not only to keep us alive, but also to complete unique contracts with music providers and other significant entities. I would love to know of any small company going through these times, without cash flow, that doesn't have debt, much of it overdue, and under collection. Creditors Worldwide are scrambling to get paid to improve their bottom lines, bankrupting companies and individuals, foreclosing on homes and real estate, anything to get paid up for their bottom lines, and executive bonuses. Small companies everywhere are fighting for some share of investment dollars to stay alive and keep the sharks at bay. BLLN is just one of tens of thousands of international mining, oil, technology, companies fighting for their piece of investment/risk capital money.
Our BLLN team is trying now to get the sites expanding both in content and visitors and we are hoping that a new strong press presence will expand both. At least they are getting recognized by the press in Asia, now we'll anxiously await the results.
The key here is not to condemn, but rather praise them for keeping their, and our, dreams alive and hope that they eventually will close on more financing to get whole. Our risk is that they may fail. Our reward comes if they don't - fail that is.
I have no doubt this comment, like all my comments will spark a huge negative response but I really don't care as I just want the other "believers" out there to know that many of us are hanging in there with you. Enjoy the plethora of rebuttals that will spew forth.
Over the many months I have repeatedly said that my comments are not meant to induce anyone to buy, hold, or sell shares. Simply another point of view.

Portability to many of the new smartphones and most MP3 music players is
coming soon.
Lance Ford, co-President & CMO, commented: "The business model is a
unique and innovative ‘360 degree revenue share.’ The business model is based
on revenue being generated through a number of commercial arrangements,
including a completely new advertising model, strategic partnerships and
affiliate deals. The service and value proposition is evolving and improving
everyday, but the core promise will always be met that every time a song is
played, the artist or copyright holder will get paid."
Allan Klepfisz concluded: "Qtrax is beginning with a strong Asia focus.
The opportunities in this part of the world are very substantial. There is
massive music consumption, combined with fewer legal services. We are very
excited about building our presence in India."

Save Your Breath
PK you should have learned by now that posting anything positive on this board is simply providing more fuel for the nonsense spewing from most of the posters, or, you will be deleted if it contradicts them in any way. Their assumptions that BLLN is dead is just as nonsensical as their belief that I am AK. If you remember, all these bright stars were saying the Company was going to fail at any moment over a year ago and yet here they are, very much alive, and ignoring anything posted here. When people have nothing better to do than spend every waking minute monitoring some obscure site it tells you how much of a life they must have. I certainly would want them as my financial advisers! Simply don't waste your precious time, they aren't worth it.
News Release:
Qtrax, a Division of Brilliant Technologies Corporation(BLLN.PK) Announces September Marketing Campaign
New York, NY (PRWEB) September 1, 2010
Qtrax, a division of Brilliant Technologies Corporation (BLLN.PK) announced today that it will begin its marketing campaign during September to inform the public of the Qtrax beta which has been operating in 6 countries.
Allan Klepfisz, co-President & CEO said: “We have been doing beta testing for several months now with a significant catalogue and full functionality except for portability. While the site has been open to the general public, we have deliberately not publicized it during this phase. We will start doing so in a measured way, during September. We have learnt that even modest publicity has a profound effect on unique monthly visits, duration of visits, bounce rate etc. ”.
Lance Ford, co-President & CMO said: “Our marketing program will be multi-tiered but initially will be focused on PR and SEO in the pertinent territories. It is time to introduce Qtrax and initially we will do so in a targeted way for each territory rather than via a global campaign”.
About Qtrax
Qtrax is currently engaged in beta testing in the Asia-Pacific region. It will soon be rolling out to other territories and introducing portability.
Qtrax is the world's first free and legal global download music service and showcases an innovative 360 degree revenue model that easily directs revenue back to artists and rights holders. Qtrax has successfully signed licensing deals with major labels, music publishers and leading indies. Qtrax will soon provide fans in multiple regions with access to a colorful and diverse catalog of high-quality, high-fidelity digital music files. Based in New York City, Qtrax is a subsidiary of Brilliant Technologies Corporation (OTC Pink Sheets: BLLN .PK- News), a publicly traded technology holding company.

I hate to disappoint but..
Sorry to inform everyone that I am not AK, never have been, and never will be. I've been an investor for just over 3 years after some serious due diligence - I understood the risks before investing and felt it was worth gambling, still do. Aside from being about 25 years older, Christian and not Jewish, much taller, minor technical skills, I couldn't keep his pace any longer even if I wanted to. I would like to keep posting and will when something may be interesting but this site doesn't want anything but negatives and someone to attack. I remain confident that this is going to work and am prepared to continue the wait - my comments have not changed - they need the big funds to be in their treasury before this stock has a chance of a decent move. Money brings expansion to multiple labels, more music material, confirmation and initiation of alliances, and most important - download volume. Until then everyone here is simply blowing stale smoke. It still comes down to the fact none of the big names announced that will/are doing business with them would sign up if the concept was flawed. Those companies know their markets and technology much better than anyone posting here.

Qtrax (BLLN.PK), World’s First Free/Legal Music Download Service, Appoints Lance Ford Co-President/CMO As It Prepares To Accelerate Global Rollout
New York, NY (PRWEB) August 19, 2010
Brilliant Technologies Corporation’s (BLLN.PK), Qtrax Inc. division, is proud to announce the appointment of Mr Lance J.O. Ford as co-President & Chief Marketing Officer. Mr Ford previously served as President & Chief Marketing Officer of Rebel Digital that had been Qtrax’s advertising advisors.
Mr Ford’s appointment coincides with Qtrax adopting a new “cutting-edge” 360 degree model and bringing in-house its advertising strategy and management functions.
“There are few people that truly understand the interplay of multiple revenues alongside a core revenue stream of advertising dollars. Lance’s deep understanding derives from a long and highly successful career in magazine publishing. And his transition from offline media to internet enterprises, parallels the massive movement of dollars from one to the other. Advertisers are looking for concepts and people that accommodate their needs. Qtrax has a completely new take on generating ad revenues globally. And what we think are really enticing propositions for consumers, that will provide other revenue streams- and impact on piracy. Nobody could be better qualified to spearhead these initiatives than Lance” said Allan Klepfisz, President & CEO.
“I believe I have a good handle on the challenges in this space as well as the truly stellar opportunities. Qtrax has pursued the long and at times clearly difficult road of being a pioneer in the legal download arena. Not only are the consumer opportunities better than ever but I firmly believe, that with an appropriate level of innovation, so are the revenue opportunities. There are better ways to sell ads, subscriptions, merchandise and tickets, globally. The monetization of the music fans voracious appetite has not been well conceived in the past and we hope to introduce fresh ideas in a number of territories in the coming months” observed Lance Ford.

Riding the waves of digital music
Local artists find a new tool to reach their audience faster with the launch of new music download services, reports CHRISTOPHER LIM
SINGAPORE'S digital music landscape hit some significant milestones recently, with new music services launching and three local artists finding new ways to make technology work for them.
Sounds good: Mei Wong, better known as The Analog Girl (above), has become the first local artist to launch her own iPhone app, AnalogGirl. Qtrax (next) sounds like the most flexible service of all since it offers free downloads without any telco affiliation. But all its tracks are restricted by digital rights management
At the end of last month, Singapore became one of only six countries to get access to Qtrax's free music download service. Early this month, StarHub countered this by offering Singapore's first music download service completely free of digital rights management (DRM) restrictions.
And on Wednesday, SingTel unveiled a major expansion of its AMPed music download service. Sony Music became the second record label to sign up with the service, bringing 150,000 downloadable tracks with it to take the AMPed catalogue past its millionth track.
Although all three services have limitations, they collectively expand the breadth of the digital music distribution market here in terms of catalogue size, free downloads and a la carte stores that are completely DRM-free.
On the surface, Qtrax sounds like the most flexible service of all since it offers free downloads without any telco affiliation - so it's also the first to make people ask what the catch is.
The main catch is that all of its tracks are restricted by DRM. At the moment, you can download music only from a computer's Web browser and you must play it through Microsoft's Windows Media Player software. Your PC has to be connected to the Internet to play your Qtrax songs, although that's due to change within the next three months, says Allan Klepfisz, president and chief executive of Qtrax, which has its Asian headquarters here and has received 60 per cent of its funding from Singapore-based investors.
Mr Klepfisz says that within the next month Qtrax also plans to add the ability to play downloaded Qtrax songs on mobile phones. You still won't be able to download music directly to phones though. While only Windows Mobile phones will be supported at the beginning, Google Android support is on the cards, and Mr Klepfisz says he would even like to add Apple iPhones to the list somewhere down the track.
Telcos' offerings
His explicit goal for Qtrax is to offer more value than illegal music download services, above and beyond merely being legal. Today, Qtrax doesn't quite meet that goal, but that may change later this year.
Of the various telcos' music stores, StarHub's has the fewest restrictions in terms of DRM. You can buy as many of its 200,000 tracks as you want through your PC for $2.13 each, or $17.66 per album. Buying music directly from your phone is more expensive, at $2.68 per track, and the sound quality is poorer. Cheaper bulk-purchase bundles are also available. StarHub's catalogue encompasses Sony Music, EMI and Warner Music.
M1's music store offers roughly the same number of tracks as StarHub overall, but only songs from Sony Music are DRM free. It wins on price though, as each DRM-free track is just 99 cents when downloaded via PC. Purchases via phone, however, are a whopping $3.21 per track. And some DRM-restricted tracks strangely cost more than DRM-free ones. The service is only open to M1 customers.
Unlike StarHub's and M1's offerings, SingTel's isn't a la carte, and AMPed is instead bundled with selected SingTel plans and mobile broadband services. You can download 15 DRM-free tracks per month, and quotas that aren't used up in a particular month can be rolled over. AMPed is DRM-free within that restriction. In addition, you can download an unlimited number of DRM-restricted tracks. There are DRM-free and DRM-restricted versions of the same songs.
AMPed is also still the only local music service that has an iPhone app, which makes it the de facto music download service for iPhones on SingTel lines, since Apple's own iTunes store isn't available here.
Using the tools
Music download services have the potential to eventually become powerful platforms for local musicians to reach fans. But although Qtrax and AMPed are open to adding small local indie labels to their services, indie musicians here aren't holding their breath, and are instead looking for ways to use technology to get their music heard.
Mei Wong, better known as The Analog Girl, has become the first local artist to launch her own iPhone app, AnalogGirl (US$1.99), which features two brand-new tracks on what she calls virtual vinyl. As the songs play, a simulated LP spins on the screen, and you can use your finger on it to simulate DJ scratching effects.
'I have been a fan of the iPhone from the start because of its touchscreen interface and the vast number of music creation apps that are out there for the iPhone,' says Wong. 'I can now write, record and master songs totally on the iPhone and upload them directly onto the Internet on platforms such as SoundCloud for the world to listen.'
Wong also performs live with an Apple iPad, and is open to releasing a version of AnalogGirl optimised for the tablet gadget, although her next album, which she is working on right now and hopes to release within the year, takes precedence.
She's adept at using technological instruments such as laptops to make music, so it's no surprise Wong believes in the potential of technology to raise a musician's profile, although she's also wary of shifting fads. 'Technology helps local artists reach a wider audience, quicker,' she says, adding that she was an early adopter of social networking service MySpace six years ago.
'Most of my fans from that time consisted of music lovers from the US, Europe and Brazil,' she says. 'And in its infancy, most of an artist's MySpace followers were genuinely into their music. Now it's become so widespread that it is difficult to track who are your true fans. So technology goes through trends too.'
Technology and the Internet may help level the playing field, but Wong is surprisingly conservative about their ability to help artists promote themselves without the help of traditional media.
'You still need to make sure that people know what platforms you are on and how they can connect with your music,' she says. 'This will still be achieved through coverage in local papers, well-read blogs and mainstream media like TV and radio.'
Inch Chua is another artist who has been a fan of technology, and so far has been giving away her music free as DRM-free downloads.
For her latest album, Wallflower, however, she and local indie label Aging Youth are trying something new - selling her music on USB thumb drives in the MP3 and FLAC formats, along with bonus material. Putting albums on thumb drives isn't new, but selling them in audiophile FLAC format is a first for a local artist.
Aging Youth will also help promote local rock trio Lunarin's upcoming album, Duae, which will be released on Aug 20. Thanks to the power of modern computers, Lunarin recorded the album entirely in a home studio, according to vocalist and bassist Linda Ong. The only step that was outsourced was the mastering process.
Ong readily admits that this pure DIY approach wouldn't have been as feasible 10 years ago due to the lower capabilities of computers back then. 'Technology is the main reason we were able to go down this path,' she says.
'Today, with the advent of digital technology, any home musician can put out a good sounding record in the comforts of his own home. Every aspect of this album was done on a digital platform. We would not have been able to record the album by ourselves otherwise.'
Technology is just a tool, and musicians still have to hone their craft, but at least the recording process has now been thoroughly democratised.
'With current technology, I believe that any local musician can record an album that would be of a comparable standard to a commercial CD,' says Ong. 'To that degree, we can at least rule out one bugbear that has been plaguing local musicians for a long time.'
I wish you a real life
The nonsense continues by someone who can't even spell "Canadian" correctly - unless he's French! Can't believe you have so much free time on your hands. Thanks for the compliment saying I'm AK, but unfortunately you couldn't be farther from the truth. I am more than able to tolerate the berating by someone like you and basically now ignore your rantings as 98% of your statements are pure rubbish, the rest is ad nauseum reiterated old information.
I am praying that ultimately they really prove you wrong and from my brief contacts with them lately, BLLN is still very much alive and working to meet their full launch. It is no secret that money is still the main problem so until they get the funds necessary the stock is going to languish. What a surprise, like investors need you to point this out. In the meanwhile perhaps you need to stop drinking fermented maple syrup and regain some sanity and perhaps a - career! You expect respect here but are not prepared to reciprocate with anything but personal attacks.
If indeed they are going after you legally I really wish they would focus on the Company and use shareholder time and money to create a successful enterprise rather than wasting time on some insignificant dissident.
Thanks for Your Critique
I always appreciate criticism as it keeps our senses alert. However if you are going to attack at least have the correct posters in your sights. I did not mention half of what you posted.
My main point I was making is that there is positive corporate activity, to what size of downloading is irrelevant, there is downloading in many countries - period. It works, it will be expanded, but at least we know that their technology is functioning well and downloading music in 7 countries. Facts that many on this site keep trying to disprove.
It seems that you are able to make disparaging remarks and misquotes of posters such as myself, but whenever I try to defend myself I am deleted. I am extremely agitated at your past false accusations and at this site for allowing them to remain alive. I have absolutely zero connection to this Company other than being an investor. Nothing more. No money, no free stock, not even thank you's from them, not that I want them.
I have basically given up posting here as it is merely the same highlighting of their past errors to which they have been very open and apologetic about. Their alternative is to give up and leave our investment even worse than what it is. Personally I prefer that they just keep forging ahead and continue to ignore those here who simply want them to fail for their own validation and abusive comments.
That's the One!
Thanks Schneider. I just returned home and was going to go through the exercise of simply re typing this article. What everyone can now understand is "press proven" downloading is indeed taking place, instead of relying on our friends in the various countries telling us. I believed them, but many here doubted our veracity. The countries we have reported are downloading - only not validated by some "higher" authority from the press. That should start coming quickly as the International press wakes up to the fact that Qtrax is in business in Asia.
Most important is the endorsement by Universal management. Shows a contract must be in place and that their library is available for free downloading with Qtrax. "Hey Mikey - they like it!" What better validation of the Qtrax concept do we want? I emphasize that the major music producers would never sign multi-year contracts if they didn't believe in the concept - plain and simple.
Without a doubt what they need now is more money and the next level of downloading for portability. That I am told is coming soon as well.
Anyone following the markets for the last year realizes just how volatile all stocks have been and the huge aversion to risk by most investors. This has had a direct effect on the larger funding amounts that Qtrax wants before a full World launch. Fortunately their bankers are funding the product development and operating expenses or they really would have been in trouble.
We all are tired of waiting but at least they are slowly moving in the right direction and we anxiously await more developing news. Enjoy your long weekend, be careful, it's dangerous out there.
OOPS should be 2010!
Article In Singapore Major Newspaper July 2 2020
Today there has been a significant article written about Qtrax's launch into Singapore with it's free music downloads working there. The Straits Times is one of the largest newspapers there with distribution throughout Asia. It appears on page B2. I received a copy of the article late last night but it is in a PDF file of a photocopy and I can't convert it for us all to read here. I am working on it. I was afraid to give all my personal info in order to buy a subscription. Digital info chicken!
The article also comments directly on the mistakes and problems of the past so the Times have done their homework and AK was quoted about the mistakes they have made openly to the writer.
The article is very positive by the writer and says that only computer downloads using MS Media Players are currently available but mp3 mobile was coming soon. There is a very positive quote from the Universal Music Group's director of business development and digital, saying that this method of music distribution is something that, "we have to embrace". It does say users are now downloading and enjoying the legal and free music with hundreds of thousands selections.
I am making zero comments for fear of being ridiculed, slandered, or deleted. I have no ties whatsoever with this Company other than being an investor and post this for information sharing only.
Conflict in Stories
Amazing how Rosso has been preaching that the Companies were totally broke, ready for default, under a blanket of lawsuits, and then suddenly he is talking about them having a credit with the record companies that according to him had their licenses expire. So why would a record company do business if the contracts had expired and were owed gigantic amounts according to the cartoonies here? Why would they expose their libraries with free downloading if they didn't endorse the technology? The circle of confusion from these guys just shows how totally uninformed, and prejudiced against BLLN's possible success, they really are.
Even regarding the downloading, which was "never" going to work, would "never" be allowed by the record companies, and now, lo and behold, it is actually working in 5 countries - to anyone who goes to the site from there. Bought your tickets yet to go over and prove them wrong? Don't take the factual reporting/word of actual citizens who are doing the downloading now. All the things they said are being proven wrong, bit by bit, and now we can expect a shift in their angles of attack to cover their derrieres as more positive info continues to flow. Be perfectly clear I am not glancing over the huge delays and mistakes taken along the way, but AK and crew have stayed the course, and hopefully the holders will be rewarded.
As an aside my Malaysian friend told me that the downloading speed now was operating much faster and playback quality was superb. For what it is worth. Of course all this is simply a figment of all our imaginations and those countries probably don't even exist and now we will have to go to the UN to prove that they are even countries!
As for the stock price I stick to my prediction that nothing significant will happen until we get the news and PR exposure from proper news releases. I'm not being negative, just practical. Our friends and fellow investors are looking forward to some sort of reactivation of BLLN's status to full reporting and commencing to trade on a more senior exchange. [That can't happen until they are properly funded] Until then the majority of investment houses will continue to have a difficult time being involved with the stock, so we will be stuck with a slower price appreciation and market gyrations until that time. We didn't buy it for a 10 - 20 cent flip - so what's new - we continue to wait! Just my thoughts.
How Devastating and Shows The Lack Of Real News Coverage
I suppose if some no value media strumpet had her house destroyed there would be cameras everywhere focused on a damaged doghouse or ruined Bentley! Maybe one of Tiger's babes should be involved! Really shows how the news really no longer exists in its true form.
Been through that type of damage and trauma Skip, hope all works out for you. Be first in line at the insurance. We'll help with the prayers here.
For The Record
"Sticks and Stones...." This is the last time I will defend myself against our so called "knowledge base" of self-appointed "good Samaritans", detractors, and anti BLLN Company and management non-investors.
Firstly, the people I know in foreign countries come from too many years in the international investment business. Many failures in venture, but also many, many successes. You all know my feelings on BLLN/Qtrax - it is still a wait and see game until they have all cylinders firing, hopefully soon.
Secondly, I am only a slightly informed investor who had the ability to acquire and read their business plan after signing a non disclosure statement. I have absolutely nothing to do with this company otherwise, plain and simple, even for the cartoon characters here.
Thirdly, I was asked here to obtain "proof" that the sites were working in Asia. Aside from others now showing it working as well, I got the proof people here requested, which included the cartoon characters. If others want more proof then get on a plane, preferably a one way ticket, and try it out for yourselves, since you don't want to take other citizens of the regions' factual reports.
Finally, I did report the good, and the flaws, of the foreign operating sites from my friends. To be sure they are not computer whizzes, simply above ordinary people who did me a favour. They have no shares, and don't have a clue about what Qtrax or BLLN are, except having a music site, after I asked them to assist our information gathering. The sites work from my sources in 3 out of the 5 reported countries, music is being downloaded and played for free. What else comes from all that is anyone's opinion.
I clearly stated several times that I do not expect any significant move in the stock until proper news releases are made by the Company and the volume download numbers become public. What everyone does with the stock is their choice, just as hanging on is mine. I actually have a life and business to attend to so I will be out until tonight and I hope everyone has a good day.
Two More Countries Confirmed
Friends of mine in Malaysia, Hong Kong, and Australia [as reported last week] have now confirmed that they are able to download music and play it on their computer. The comments I got from one was that the selection was large, but limited, and was not overly fast. Many big name artists were represented, little Asian content.
I've been told that only English is available in those semi-English countries and that auto translate sites will be working very soon with more music being added daily. All could access without special membership numbers, simply went to the site and started downloading. Very easy to use and generally were impressed with the site's appearance. One said the site still needed minor improvements but he liked it overall. I asked them to be critical so we could get the right feedback.
I'll be getting more info back from them and will pass it on. On my last message, which got deleted, I said that I did not expect a big jump in stock price from all this as most large volume buyers will be waiting, like all of us, for proper news releases and, most important, a few weeks of operating volume hits. Volume hits will equal higher revenue, and better advertisers, as they progress, which then should translate into higher stock prices. It doesn't mean that we won't see a few cents more added on but I'm interested in the much bigger potential this has over the coming months - "he" says with a hope and a prayer! At least we are finally moving in the right direction and we can now await more countries coming on stream. Nice to relate positive moves for a change.
Was Your Friend Pre Registered?
Only those who pre registered are able to use it but that should change very shortly, or so I'm told. As for a phone girl giving out investor info - get real. Until there is a news release no one from the Company would say anything, and you all know that.
Something interesting happening real soon.
The Five Countries Launched
I understand that the 5 countries where the downloading is occurring are Australia, New Zealand, Singapore, Malaysia, and Hong Kong. I can only verify that OZ is working fine as I have friends doing it. We can only assume/wish that more countries are coming soon. Most are relatively small countries but HK is huge. This is following their latest plan to start small and get any bugs out and then open up to more countries.
And I will try and find out what version they are using only because others than from here are asking. I would guess that it is 2.0 or higher, but I really don't know but I will ask my Oz connections and pass it on.
Just remember that in these stocks, one good day doesn't make a market. We need news and more countries to keep this run going, but thank goodness for today anyways. Enjoy the moment and hope for more like it.
Again twisting words
What I meant to say was EXACTLY what I did say - NOT YOUR INTERPRETATION or TWIST AGAIN. Read it again, they are downloading and playing top artist names of music. Tough for you to grasp I'm sure. I am not obligated to answer your inquisitional type of questions [this is not Guantanamo Bay], and simply will not communicate with, or to you. I am merely an informed investor and will disclose what I am able to find out - good or bad. That is what this site is supposed to be for. I couldn't care less what people do with their stock as I have repeatedly stated, unlike those who keep their fingers and mouths on the sell, sell button. Loved those .013 - .015 sell recommendations of yours.
Since you have such a "good rapport" with the Company, call them yourself and ask them what is going on - like they would take your call!!
Move to Oz - PLEASE, and find out for yourself!
You Just Did
My sentiments exactly - what if there is a sound in the forest....
We need the news release but at least we did find out that the sytem is working, that's not insider info.
Launched in FIVE Countries!!
Got a call this AM from friends overseas and Qtrax are now doing unlimited downloads in five Asian countries, one of which is Australia. Not just the site page, full downloading!
Immediately this tells us that BLLN is real, the contracts with the music providers are real, the technology works, the system is blazingly fast both for search and downloading. No matter what our detractor site here wants to say, only an idiot would believe that they would launch without the full approval of the music companies.
This must also mean that some type of funding had to be secured or again they would not have been able to launch, so some agreements must have been made with creditors or Qtrax wouldn't have been allowed access to server systems or music libraries.
So what could be next? Perhaps a launch into more countries? More funding now that they are up and running in more than one country, commencement of revenue from advertisers as they see the volume of users build?? These are questions that we can now afford to to wait for more comfortably as we know the basics are working and now they can expand operations and finances.
Bloody good job AK and team! Perseverance in spite of monumental hurdles should now give you your place in history as the first legal, portable, free provider of music.
What does this mean for those of us who remained shareholders? You tell me as I am constantly reminded here that I am too biased due to our positions. What I can do now is hope that this initial music launch will slowly build into a stock price launch, time will tell. A news release would be nice, right??
