Jim, your absolutely right. Some long time investors, like me, sold when stock went above 100. Twice I saw IDCC sky rocket and plunge, fool me once shame on me, fool me twice really shame on me, wasn't going to let it happen a third time, especially when getting up in years. Kept a few shares for old time sake. They say never get married to a stock and I was certainly married to IDCC, never thought I would sell and it pain me to sell but looking back was the correct move. I wish all longs nothing but the best and do believe better days are ahead for IDCC.

Triangle, in the same boat. Had 17,000 shares. went with a FA several years ago a first thing he did was sell 7,000 shares because he wanted to re-balance. I was mad. told him not to sell anymore. Bought vacation home in 2016. Thought for sure he would sell IDCC but he did not (we sold other stuff) because of tax consequences and thought better off selling in 2017 hoping Trump's tax cut would be retroactive. He called me after the close on Friday telling me I was blessed and having my cake and eating it too. Told him didn't want to give it back. Just turned 69, I don't need growth stocks anymore. Too many of my friends are ill or have passed away. Told him time to sell but to hold off until we hit 100. My luck we will hit 99 1/2 and stock will fall like a rock due to market pull back.

Maybe he dosen't know how to copy and paste. I don't as I have no need.

Wow, a voice from the past and one of IDCC most vocal early supporters. Hope all is well. Have a Merry Christmas.

The Gardens Area. North Street, Beach Block. My wife's dream for thirty years. Thanks to IDCC can fulfill her dream.

You never get hurt taking a profit. Bulls make money, bear make money, pigs get slaughtered. Don't look back. I will be selling shortly also, not because I don't believe in IDCC but just bought a vacation home in Ocean City, NJ and will use IDCC to pay for it.

Disagree about too long of a time laspse. bet there are many on this board who held on to the run up to 80 and back down twice. I am one of them.

Mickey, no truer words were spoken. I never saw a Brinks truck follow a Hearse. You can't take it with you. I am worth more now than I have been in my entire life but learning money does not buy happiness. Happiness comes from within. The one thing money does buy is freedom and time to do the things in life you want to do.
Learning that it is in given that we receive or as Winston Churchill said, "We make a living by what we get, but we make a life by what we give" Took me 68 years to learn that lesson and much happier.

Is it time to sell?
I remember what Warren Buffet said,""Be fearful when others are greedy and greedy when others r fearful". When I start to see giddiness on message board and unknown posters coming out of the wood work think it might be time to take profit. You never get hurt taking a profit. Don't want to make the same mistake I made not once but twice. Shame on me if I let it happen again.

would have thought with WSJ article today "Patents Drive Chinese Phone Push" noting that Chinese technology giants are acquiring patents through licensing deals, acquisitions and hefty spending on R&D that IDCC would be up today.

Your right
From your lips to God's ears. My wife says I always look at the glass half empty

Do not have a good feeling about earnings tomorrow
Israt
When is the next earnings date? Saw July 24th and August 11th on various financial sites. Can't find on IDCC website. Thanks!
israt
Wow, 7,000 shares sold. He must know something. You got to be kidding me.

I said JMHO. Didn't pick out of thin air. Based on the technical. I don't think and hope it won't go to 35 but I have been in the stock market too long to rule anything out.
israt
IDCC is forming either a top or bottom. If it breaks down I believe we go to 35 real quick but if we break on the upside I can see 64 real quick. Believe something is going to give shortly.
JMHO.

Just felt like I've been hit in the stomach. Lousy way to start a weekend.

To be accurate, pulled my IDCC file (back then it was IMMC). My first purchase was 2,000 shares @ 9.25 on April 20, 1989 from Paine Webber. Think the 34 years was a typo, should have been 24. Bought on the recommendation of a good friend whose son was an officer in the Company (the son now head OLED).
israt
Thanks OD and Hydro_gen. Looking forward to next week. Think we really need to break 48.50 to really get excited. Would not be surprise if we back and fill which really is not a negative. Best to all longs from probably the longest long of them all.
Peter
I'm lazy. Was out of the country for three weeks. Didn't feel like reading every post but a random selection read seen to indicate the up coming week is important. Went on IDCC website but didn't see or missed what is so important about this week. Can someone give a Ciff notes version. Can't see what could me more important than the Samsung signing. Thanks in advance!
israt
Something is happening, don't know what but believe we will know in the not so distant future. just trying to interpret the chart, don't have any first hand knowledge.

Great Photograph.

Eagle, have been in this for 34 years. twice we had an opportunity to get out at 80. not going to make the same mistake a third time. retirement is around the corner. Also my sympathy goes out to lurker's family. Will keep them in my prayers.
israt
GBR, I find your posts well thought out and logical. As previously stated we need a catalyst to break through 41 and Samsung news could be just the thing. Without any news or earning surprises on the upside we continue to drift lower. Lets hope for the best tomorrow.
israt
Sense nervousness about earnings tomorrow. Awful quiet.
Karat
We need to break the 40-41 level and the only way, in my opinion, we are going to close the upside gap is through good news. Something has to be the catalyst to break on the upside. I think if we can close the upside gap the worse is behind us. Unless we break the 41 level I sill believe we have a chance for 25 on the downside. Believe this will be a very telling week for IDCC. Here is hoping for some good news. Can't stomach another downside move.

Several good articles on patent lawsuites/trolls today in the New York Times. Sorry I don't know how to transfer over to Ihub.

Wow, dmiller. who would have thought you were an animal lover. animal lover and negativity don't go hand in hand. Glad to see you are an animal lover cause so am I.
israt
gut feel, volumne drying up this thing is about to take off.
israt
You may be right but still disagree with you on the falling wedge formation. Just don't see it but agree that is a postive formation. reading charts is like reading tea leaves. Not a novice. Have been charting since 1979.
israt
Good article in the Sunday Business section of the NY Times entitled "When Shareholders Crack the Whip". Not tech savy enough to know how to post.
israt
I was involved in one company that was taken private and I can tell you the shareholders got screwed.
israt
Don't see any type of formation yet. too premature at this point. would be very happy if we get above 21 3/8.

On a postive note current issue of Forbes list the 200 Best Small Companies and InterDigital is listed at number 19.
israt
DMiller, scrool all the way down to Gallery View (bottom left hand side). highlight and you will see Bearish Price Objective 10
israt
Talk about a postive spin and making lemonade out of lemons. I am totally disgusted, trying not to let my emotions get the best of me and sell on the bad news. I think that is the worse thing you can do right now, although maybe not when I see Stockcharts. com predicts we go to 10. Just thinking of all the lost opportunities, other stocks that have florished, I could have invested in during this current run up. No matter how you spin it this is not good.
israt
Jim, do you think this board is looked at by the legal department at IDCC? I would certaintly hope so because the "legal team" on this board, Loops, Ghor, Whizz, JD Gator, to name a few have made excellent points that the IDCC legal team should take under review.
israt
Neo, don't let your emotions control your investment decision. would not sell on Monday. I know how you feel. will have to work a little longer and will have to dash my dream of retiring early. Let the dust settle. I have owned this stock probably longer than anyone on this board but my faith is not shaken. This too shall pass.
