SF, I started reading the posts in this board since last week. You made me to register this board and respond to your post. I have never posted any message in any chat room to any stranger.
I have a similar situations like you - laid off, lost father, got stage 3 cancer, removed lymph nodes, and received chemo and radiation therapies. Life sounded miserable on my side. But I actually like to be unemployed. Now, I am a potter!
Another good news is I bought some pq, uq, and kq in various times since March. The volumes and prices were no comparison to yours. But the return is not bad to me. Life is going to be better soon. I hope I can pay off my mortgage, build a small studio, have some extra that I can live on till my retirement funds kicks in. If I don't get fancy car and don't eat out expansive restaurants, I might be OK with the return of this investment.
I don't buy stocks often and know very little about the stock market. This board provides a lot of encouraged information. I wish I knew this one earlier.
My family and I were WaMu Bank's customers for years. It was really sad for us to see it went down like this. I visited 5 or 6 WaMu branches locally in the past 10 years (maybe longer). The services were always very helpful and pleasant. I have nothing to complain in all those years.
I truly hope WaMu can stand up again. I will be their customer once more.
Go WaMu!
