DJU reversal, just about here:
imho, Jerome
One of the worst performing sectors this year was utilities...
Yep, good time to buy right now, DJU is about to breakout, anything over 300 and it's a sure sign of a reversal being set. I am long in Utility funds right now.
Also, as far as sector moving, these three stocks followed the ENRON mismanagment with their own scare drops: MIR, CPN, DYN, and they are tracking back up, NRG, and RRI in the sector too, I expect a good sized pop in these in Jan, as shorts cover to pay taxes next year instead of this, a good Jan effect in place here, besides the low of the trend being set:

Oil climbs; OPEC seen cutting output
Crude prices climbed back above $21 a barrel Wednesday on growing expectations that OPEC producers will decide on Friday to cut production by 1.5 million barrels per day even without full cooperation by nonmembers.

Yea, the OTC support just is non-existent. You gotta like the stock and be prepared to hold, and average cost-down, and hope that the company doesn't run into a rough spot, lotsa risk.

Added PTEN to my energy mix today, and entered into these two funds, 50%:
Energy FSENX 22.95 +0.58
Energy Service FSESX 29.18 +1.17
Both strong and above breakout above ma's today, saving some for a possible pullback. Targets of around 30 for FSENX and 38 for FSESX.

I've been riding back up with MIR, might be running out of steam, but a good ride. I think energy plays will do well the next few months, I wish TGHI would get their listing things straightened out, a multi-bagger waiting there:

Thanks for the lead, looks like ASK is the only one that times out. Sometimes Yahoo works, and sometimes it doesn't, strange.

I have no idea, I was going to try and call Ross sometime after Christmas, and find out what he meant. I don't read RB anymore, a bunch of immature posters and bashers hog the space with their nonsense and manipulation.

Hi, this is more of a caretaker situation, and just going into positions for swings, also, it's only the funds that can be traded, I'm usually in for at minimum a 5% swing, anything else is just the trend. I do like MIR.
imho, Jerome
Right now I am without a position, in a money market, am thinking of getting into one of the select energy funds, they have bottomed out, and are starting to rise now. I like this one, with a move over the 100 dma:

from askresearch
Askresearch http://139.142.147.15/ is a pretty good free service as well, but eventually, it'll probably charge as well.
I got into MIR on friday, an enron sector selloff equity, and news they sold stock too, anyway, it looked strong all later half of friday, so am going to ride the trend upwards with it, maybe over $21

It's so transparently criminal. It makes you wonder if there isn't collusion ahead of the fact between the MM's and the principles. Otherwise, the MM's would just be winging a short on a prayer that the company will go along with a naked short cover. The is is the most blatently manipulative part of the mk't, it happens on the NASDAQ as well, remember GRIN? And just a couple of months ago, VLPI I believe, was the anthrax related stock with a similar naked short than issuance of shares to cover. MM's have become desparate to maintain their profits, and are going to kill the OTC, their golden goose, just to fleece the wool for one more season.
Anyway, I saw your post on errorl on SI, is he bashing the stock?
imho, Jerome
WHat kind of gas milage does it get?
imho, Jerome
I came over here to show Plato this post, and saw yours, don't fret, no one long in the OTCBB has made money by holding. I will continue to hold a few interesting OTCBB's that I have on the bottom, and flip those, but am moving onto trading the bigger boards exclusively until things improve. The MM's are just intent on maintaining profitiability in the OTCBB's by naked shorting, and even when they are cornered with a HUGE naked short, they just make a deal with the company. There are enough naz plays in the pennies to make it interesting anyway.

Well, I am done trading for the year... I believe Lance is doing the same.
Has been a very frustrating year on the OTCBB/Pinks. This is the first time I can recall that a sustained NASDAQ rally (rallied since late Sept) did not result in a broad rally on the OTCBB. The OTCBBNN puts out an email once or twice a day with OTCBB stats. Decliners/Advancers and those that were unchanged. Cannot remember the last time I saw advancers outnumber decliners. My screen at the end of every day says the same... more red than green.
And now, it seems that positive news no matter how good is greeted with selling and shorting (mainly selling... at any price). OTCBB companies are forced to continue to issue stock just to remain afloat. Many actually decent companies have been ruined. Many companies only need some financing to get an exciting new product off the ground. But now, there is no money... stock is worthless. And no one has enough money to put into a speculative product.
I also believe that a lot of unaccounted for stock has come into the market. But, no question that very few people are holding any stock any more... better to sell at .01 or .005 than hold down to 0.
Additionally, traditional OTCBB investors and traders do not have any where near as much cash as they used to have. Many of those people I knew in 98, 99 and 2000 are long gone now. They have real jobs. Unless you are a very good trader and have a lot of capital, you cannot earn a living being an OTCBB trader any more. Many OTCBB traders have moved onto the NASDAQ and have had some success.
Will the OTCBB ever return? It will, but it will take a long time and a sustained economic recovery to bring enough money back to the OTCBB to move stocks again.
Now, don't get me wrong, there are OTCBB stocks that move... there are some that move every day. But the moves only last a few minutes to a few hours... there is an occasional multi-day runner but they are few and far between. Many people made nice money on COVD last few weeks. But, COVD is much closer to being a NASDAQ stock (they were delisted from NAZ not so long ago) than anything else currently on the OTCBB. And to make money on these stocks you have to be able to get in and out in a hurry. Almost every morning, many of the OTCBB stocks on my screen are green and look like they want to run... but, they are almost always a trap. The MMs trap a few people in at the open, take it up a few pennies, then vacate the bid and stick people with the stock at the higher levels... when these people that bought the traps lose hope or get pissed and sell, the MMs are more than happy to buy the stock back a few pennies lower... IF they buy it back at all.
I certainly hope the new year will bring a recovery... We are going on 2 years of a hard bear market on the OTCBB than began mid-March of 2000.

MOFO's!!! Is errol in on this? He is already being sued by someone else.
imho, Jerome
Hi Wise, have you heard any updates on the stock buyback?
imho, Jerome
Good news finally! A filing plus a buyback is CMIH's ticket to heading back up.
imho, Jerome
More good lt news for ADVC, am going to buy a few hundred share blocks for some ed. ira's next week, giv 'em 10 years or so to mature.
imho, Jerome
Could be, but I would hope that they at least give out a portion of a position, to add shareholders to the stock. Perhaps though, their shares are restricted (with most RM's they are), so HRCT will hold them a year at least.
imho, Jerome
I think it could work out for the better if Jacques leaves, there is the matter of getting his shares off of the table, and perhaps that is what is happening. I think the shares in question have to do with that promo company that was in MO I believe, I talked with them once on the phone, they promised a lot, but just dumped. Anyway, hopefully mint is accumulating!
imho, Jerome
And it will be interesting to see what happens in 2002, as obviously, in the latest filings, the money was hinged on getting onto the OTCBB in 2001, and already had an extension. So, we'll see where it stands with the next filing.
imho, Jerome
It has been going on for one hell of a long time, from ~.02 to ~.30 three times now in the past year in a half with the false starts. I think 9/11 had some doings with the latest. About Jacques, have you talked with him? I think he may be out the door, or on the way. He is probably the problem, as that suit against him didn't come to a complete close.
