Glenny thats what I've been thinking
Maybe management is dragging their feet buying back shares at lower prices and then take the company private. Then everything happens and all the good news comes out. Just a thought thats been going through my mind for a while now.
Best to ya.
MooseO
Yes, $49.63 isn't looking so hillarious today IMO.
Lets get over $51 and see where we go from there.
Best to ya!

A little news for you mass Texters
Google Voice for Android finally gets mass texting capabilities
November 16, 2011
Sweet jumpin’ Jehoshaphat, it finally happened — Google Voice for Android now supports sending text messages to multiple recipients. Being able to have a single, archived repository of texts is great, but it was always somewhat bewildering that while you could send a mass SMS from the website you were stuck sending out individual missives on the app. Today’s update, version 0.4.2.38, finally gives Voice the power to spam your contacts — a pretty basic feature that even the lowliest of feature phones enjoys. So what are you waiting for, head over to the Market to get the update now. How else are you going to let all 300 of your closest acquaintances know the next time you’re DJing during happy hour?
Thanks Jim! EOM

I read your appology and explanation. Can't find it now so I'm asumming it was deleted. Don't want to drag this out, but I was sure your post was directed at me. I didn't like it for 2 reasons. First, I being a former Marine don't like the belittling of soldiers that through themselves on Hand Grenades sacrificing their own lives for their buddies to live on. All Marines are prepared to do this. Not a pretty sight.
Second I spent 28 years fighting against Communisum, Facisum, dictators and whatever else came along. But before you go writing those big words that might impress you social crowd. In here are the big old mean people. We have been around the block a few times and just might take things a little more personal than you are maybe used to. Yes I'm getting to be an old fart and I'm opinunated. But I'm confirmed now going brain dead. But there was a day when if asked to jump I would jump. So it must be the meds I'm on bringing it back. Anyway if I wrongly jumped, I applogize to you. I also appolgize to anyone that I may have disrupted your board experience here.
I'll just go back to lurking for a while now.
Best to all!

In regard to my last post which was a little different from Glooms but on the same lines of thought. I have come to the conclusion that after being torchered in this stock for years. I hate shorts and option writters! Anything they might do as far as screw ups or loseing some of their money by covering at a much higher price I find extremely hillarious. JMFO
Best to ya!

The only thing that would be better with this new high for the day. Would be someone that put a short position on yesterday or this morning and got cold feet and ended up covering at 49.63 LOL!
Now that would be extremely hillarious IMO.
Best to ya!
MooseO
What do you mean poor guy? He's my hero! I think its great we have a new high for the day! Now maybe we can go over $50. Looking pretty good IMO.

Thats an od statement sense Institutional ownership is at 65%.
I believe that means Institutional ownership has just gone up.
Just saying.

We have investors here, not day traders that are here today and gone in an hour. Many have been with Interdigital for 25 years or longer.
I haven't been here as long as many and in and out a few times but we are going to wait for the big pay off not just some chump change. Also to see our baby mature into a world tech changer.
Thats the story and I'm sticking to it.
Best to ya!
MooseO
Yes but don't forget to add $$$ on for the past infringement years.
This is Great news IMO!
The story continues.
Next lets see who else comes out of the woodwork.
Best to all!

Looks like $70 might be coming for those wanting to sell there. Might put your bids in now.
This is a Public announcement for those who expressed they would take $70 for their Interdigital shares.
Just trying to help.
Best to all!
MooseO
They know you are trying to spread fear with in Interdigital shareholders.
Best to ya!
MooseO
No body knows what that price is, so how would you know?
The long Longs are standing behind Interdigital managements decisions on the sale of the company until we hear other wise from them. M Partners has given us what they beleive the numbers will be. Until we have a company PR release we know nothing else. Put an order in to sell your shares at $60 to $70 and you will probably get that. I'm waiting for the sale of the company or until we hear something different from Interdigitals Management.
Best to ya!

There was around 2 million
shares traded up sense the mornings flat trading. Shares traded down to around $50 from the moves above $52 a few times after some reports of false or untrue articles. But we still closed above $52. Seems buyers weren't buying the nothing going on. IMO tomorrows trading will tell us where this is going. Seemed like pretty positive action to me. IDCC shares will move fast on any positive news. IMO, will move faster than buyers can get in if you don't have shares, by those that can get news sooner than the rest of us.
Got shares?
Best to ya!
MooseO
Trust me its always been that way with this company but if you beleive its just something you have to live with IMO. What Interdigital does has no bearing on its outside of the company shareholders IMO. Its just business as usual and Interdigital moves forward.
Best to ya!
MooseO
That is interesting.
The other day I watched a dump of 80,000 share block that read negative . It didn't drop the bid but by a few pennies and with in a few minutes it registered as positive.
I thought that was pretty wild.
Best to ya!
MooseO
Well, I know when you try to form a realistic valuation of Interdigital it becomes very hard to add in many other assets that don't seem to have an actual added value to add to the numbers.
In trying to do some deeper thinking I've thought about the actual engineers that work for IDCC. I remember when Interdigital opened its Canadain office. I only, at the time partially understood of why such a move was good for the company. I wondered with so many other things going on with in the company at that time how will this effect the companies future. Then Interdigital started hiring engineers from Canada. My thought then was, Interdigital was wanting to expand its research and developement.
But now I think, just maybe Interdigital at the time had the smarts to look into the future and hire Nortels unemployed engineers. At this time if this is true, what value can you put on the valuation of the knowledge these engineers brought with them to Interdigital from Nortel. If I remember right Nortel had quite an extensive research and developement department when they had to start laying off employees and engineers. In my thought process these same engineers developed and worked with Nortels IPR technology. How much is that worth to someone that bought Nortels patents? I'm becoming a bigger beleiver in M Partners valuation numbers of between $120 to $167 share. Except if a bidder wants to keep the IPR from falling into the hands of company that might use the IPR against them. I really beleive theres been so much speculation here about the valuation of the company, it really now makes no sense to continue to do so anymore but just wait and see what the company brings. Otherwise we are all going to go crazy trying to figure it out and we'll probably still be wrong.so whats the point?
Best to all of us longs in this venture!
MooseO
Just put an order to sell at $70
Seems to me if you would be happy with $70 you would put in a bid to sell all of your shares at a future price. Its pretty easy to do. You will probably get it. JMHO
Best to ya!
MooseO
On the other hand, maybe sense they have had a peek at Interdigitals IPR and they either don't want to bid or can't afford to bid this is a little pressure being applied. Just maybe Interdigital is setting up the winning bidder with a fast track IPR licensing suit. Just a thought.

Something for Put buyers to think about
Hedge Fund Sues Morgan Stanley Over Sino-Forest Options Deal
By Kit Chellel - Sep 23, 2011 2:50 AM MT .
...
Hedge fund Oasis Management LLC sued Morgan Stanley for C$9.5 million ($9.3 million) over options in Sino-Forest Corp. (TRE) bought before the Toronto-listed timber company’s stock plunged 71 percent in two days in June.
Morgan Stanley failed to settle the options contracts in an effort to “limit its liability,” Oasis said in a lawsuit filed in London in July. Hong Kong-based Oasis bought options to sell Sino-Forest at C$19 on May 12, three weeks before shares fell to C$5.22 on allegations it had overstated forestry holdings.
Shares in Sino-Forest have fallen 74 percent since June 1, the day before short-seller Carson Block’s Muddy Waters LLC research firm said the company had overstated its holdings. While investors including hedge fund manager John Paulson and billionaire Richard Chandler took losses when Sino-Forest shares sank, holders of put contracts could reap returns from selling stock at prices far above the present value.
The Oasis deal will cost Morgan Stanley (MS) C$7.5 million to settle, the hedge fund said it its court filing. The put options are valued at C$9.5 million, compared with C$2 million for the equivalent shares, it said in the lawsuit. Oasis paid Morgan Stanley a premium of C$770,000 for the options in May.
New York-based Morgan Stanley claimed the options were terminated because trading in Sino-Forest’s shares was suspended, Oasis lawyers said in the filing. The bank offered Oasis C$3.8 million to cancel the deal, the hedge fund said in the lawsuit.
Morgan Stanley spokesman Michael Wang declined to comment yesterday. Katie Bolton, a Hong Kong-based spokeswoman for Oasis, declined to comment.
The Ontario Securities Commission halted trading in Sino- Forest on Aug. 26, saying the company appeared to have misrepresented its sales and timber stocks.
Sino-forest, which last traded at C$4.81 on Aug. 25, has set up an independent committee to examine the allegations in the Muddy Waters report. The company’s chief executive officer Allen Chan resigned on Aug 28.

Yes!
Whom did they hire for the sale???
Apparently they were approached by some companies for a sale before and during Nortel auction. Now Interdigital are in talks with more companies for a sale.
I'd say great lengths letting all their IPR being researched and being interviewed for what they have and what they can provide to bidders.
Best to ya!
MooseO
Well we can
What if for months. But the facts are Interdigital is in talks for a sale. I strongly beleive a sale will happen and is in the works.
Until I see a PR that says otherwise everything else is mute.
Tick Toc!! The time comes closer. Either your in or out. I'm in.
Now its up to Interdigital, Bankers and Bidders.
Place your bet!

Interdigital just might have
A new big brother in Apple in the case of a no sale. After all everyone else is partnering up. Apple would be the one litigating for infringment just like they are now. So who do these companies have to license their IPR from to defend themselves? You don't see a connection here?
JMHO
Best to ya!
MooseO
Interdigital IMO has gone to great links to correctly sell the company for the highest bidder.
If your a call option holder or stock trader you may not come out so good on a no sale, which I do not see happening at this time. All the Tech manufacturers are trying to cut each others throaths at this for IPR dominace.
If there is a no sale and you are a shareholder long term Interdigital with its 3G and 4G IPR licensing should do great.
So whats the worry???
Best to ya!
MooseO
Good post. EOM
That wasn't a report.
That was a cheap Rag with a nobodies opinion.Plus it really wasn't that bad just a little short for today's Tech situation, or should I say the lack of.

If Interdigital sells for $$8 Billion or more and you bought at $82.50. How will one get burned if you are still holding???
Thanks for a reply.
Best to ya!
MooseO
Why do you say that???
We just got a report today that says Interdigital's LTE patents are worth at least $$3 billion or more alone.
I don't understand what your saying???

I don't usually pay much attention to after hours trading but
Theres a couple of big block trades going on.
There is one trade at $59.40 for 48,394 shares another at $59.40 for 10,000 shares and one at $62.4594 for 56,629 shares last trade so for. Someone is putting their money where their mouth is.
MooseO
How about
We give Interdigital's BOD and managements plan a chance to work before we start interjecting our own concerns into the process which does no good anyway. I beleive they are trying to get the best price possible. Takes time. Be patient!
I do agree its hard waiting but hopefully the reward will be great.
