What is our volume so far today?
What is our volume so far today?
Hello to all my fellow longs and congratulations on our move to an intraday all time high of $140.25 yesterday. I’ve been here since 1994, and have never felt a stronger belief that we now, in fact, have “the goods”.
Trading up on low volume, short squeeze about to begin?!
Grateful to still be here. Saddened that many of our friends are no longer here to enjoy the ride.
Bob
Thank you Gamco.
Once our still undiscovered little gem is truly given the recognition that it deserves we will REALLY explode!
Best of the luck to those long time longs who are still here.
Bob
Does anyone have an opinion as to when we will hear the decision from the UK on the Lenovo appeal?
Does anyone have an opinion as to when we will hear the decision from the UK on the Lenovo appeal?
like many old timers, I rode our IDCC up to 82 at the end of 1999, only to see it tumble after our beloved Howard Goldberg? went on TV talking about a Value of “1” with a lot of zeros after it! I remember that his toupee looked like it was on backwards.
Oh well, I’m still here with less shares than before, but still sizable.
I see this year as real breakout time for our little company!
No short squeeze today. Sorry that I was “premature”! I do believe that we will see higher highs before the end of the year. One new licensee and it will be …to the moon Alice!!!

Can we see a little short squeeze today that will push over $100.?!
Still here and still very long after more years than I care to mention!
Good luck to all!!!
I’m still here! Today should be fun! With a big beat I see 80 pp real soon.
Glad to hear it Jimlur!
Hello Gamco,
I remember you also! I retired a few years ago, but still hold more IDCC in my portfolio than I should. You and yours stay safe also during these trying times.
Up another $3.00+ after yesterday's huge day. Where have all the old timers gone? This board would have been on fire yesterday and today when we were all much younger. I'm sure nobody remembers me but I've been long forever.
Is loophole still with us? Does jimlur still have a position here? I'm waiting for one more run to 100+.
Hi Loop,
Glad you're still here, and hope that you're in good health. I sold some at 101 (when we briefly hit 102). Sold a little more in the mid nineties.
In both cases I didn't sell nearly as much as I should have. Being here for 25 years seems a little ridiculous, but it is what it is. I'm tired... if/when IDCC hits 100 again I'll be 100% out! Hoping we really have a very strong presence in 5G. Thought we were very strong in 4G, but evidently not as strong as I had hoped. Buyout second half of 2020? I'm all for that!
Bob
Hello All,
I haven't posted here for years but am still very long IDCC. It amazes me that with 2.3 million shares traded today I would have thought there would be 100 posts. But there are only 15 posts.
There has to be much more to this than just a small increase in revenue guidance.
I've been around since 1994. Hope there are still some old timers like me
hanging around here.
Best of luck to all longs,
Bob
I was watching CNBC today at around 12:00. IDCC was mentioned, but I only caught the tail end. I believe the mention was very positive.
Merry Christmas to All!
Thank you.
Does anyone have the phone number for the conference call tomorrow morning?
TIA
Thanks Gamco & olddog!
Gamco,
When was this article written?
Thanks,
bobsil
What a beautiful run we've had. Crossing over 81 today before settling at 80.80 is a resistance point that we have broken through. I'm surprised there aren't more longs celebrating tonight. With good earnings and some other good news (new licensee?) I definitely can see us busting through 100 before the end of the year.
Best to all longs,
Bobsil
Been here since 1994. I Let some go in the mid 60's. Hard to part with shares after holding all these years, but I will not make the same mistake I made when it ran wild at the end of 1999 and then in 2011.
Will take some more off the table in the low to mid 70's then hold awaiting the final outcome with Huawei. If more positive news happens in the near term, will probably hold remaining shares until we reach the magical 100!
Best to all,
Bobsil
loop,
Why do you think that IDCC agreed to the continuance?
Thanks!
50 sure feels good!
If 1 or 2 of the Big Boys come to our table, 100+ is very, very possible (and probable in my opinion!).
Best to all of my fellow longs,
jmo,
bobsil
I love this part, thanks for sharing!
The Medical Device Manufacturers Association, which filed its amicus brief with content application developer i4i Limited Partnership, said that the panel’s decision could “render the patent system unpredictable and inhospitable to the massive investment needed to spur invention,” and seconded the call for a rehearing.
As always, many thanks for sharing your expertise and learned opinion with me and our other faithful longs.
Loop,
Another great review, analysis, and opinion from you. Many thanks!
"Rookie" is looking down on you and smiling!
A question for you; when IDCC (and others) have lost a decision there has typically been an immediate response from the company(s) that they would appeal the decision. How would you explain ZTE's silence so far.
Respectfully,
bobsil
Today's volume,
Even though volume is much higher than a "normal" day, I remember a 9-10 million volume day back in late 1999 when we were running up as the "Baby Qualcomm".
I dream of another day like that, when the shorts will get burned to a crisp!
Congrats to all!
bobsil
WOW!!!
Valid and infringed! When's the last time (or ever?) that we won a jury verdict of this magnitude, instead of settling with an "accused infringer", a la Samsung, etc. ?
This may finally be the beginning of the Watershed Event that we have been waiting for all these long years.
Congrats to all fellow longs!
Hello Nokia, Miscrosoft, LG, Apple, Huawei.......
Captain Bob, Technical, and Jiff,
Thank you all for attending the trial and reporting back to this board. I hope that the jury shares your views. It's about time that our little American Company (and all of us!) receive justice, respect, and MONEY from all of these "mostly foreign" thieves!
Sincere thanks,
bobsil
Bulldozer,
Regarding Max Grant,
Thanks to you and LTE for posting about Mr. Grant's credentials and background.
He's obviously a "winner".
I don't post much anymore but based on all of the on site reports from the trial, I am cautiously optimistic that we will win (or settle) this with ZTE. Thanks for being in the courthouse and sharing.
Thanks to all contibutors and best of luck to all! Some of us have been here a very long time, maybe this is finally our time!

AT&T to Exclusively Carry Amazon Smartphone
Amazon Expected to Unveil its Phone on Wednesday in Seattle

AT&T Inc. T -0.14% will be the exclusive carrier for Amazon.com Inc. AMZN +0.41% 's new smartphone, which is expected to be unveiled on Wednesday, according to people familiar with the plans.
The arrangement extends Amazon's relationship with AT&T, which also provides wireless service to Kindle tablets and e-readers. The move could help AT&T attract new subscribers at a time of intense competition among wireless carriers.
Apple Inc. AAPL +1.01% and Samsung Electronics Co. have a tight grip on the smartphone market in the U.S. with a combined 60% share in the first quarter, according to comScore Inc. SCOR -0.23% Rival devices from makers like BlackBerry Ltd. BB.T +0.12% and Nokia Corp. NOK1V.HE +0.26% have seen their market share shrivel as they failed to keep up with technology.
Amazon hopes to distinguish its phone in a crowded market with a screen capable of displaying seemingly three-dimensional images without special glasses, according to a Wall Street Journal article citing people briefed on the plans. The phone would employ retina-tracking technology embedded in four front-facing cameras, or sensors, to make some images appear to be 3-D, similar to a hologram, according to the story.
Amazon is expected to introduce the device at an event in hometown Seattle Wednesday and has demonstrated versions of the handset to developers in San Francisco and Seattle. Amazon aims to begin shipping phones by the end of September, ahead of the holiday shopping season. The e-commerce giant is moving deeper into gadgets beyond its Kindle tablet, including the Fire TV set-top video streaming device and the smartphone.
AT&T had an exclusive arrangement with Apple Inc. when the iPhone was launched in 2007. That offering, which lasted more than three years, gave AT&T a crucial leg up against rival Verizon Wireless in the lucrative smartphone market.

Now there are some who are saying that Huawei can back out of Binding Arbitration? Please state how this could be remotely possible.
I am very impressed by the strength of our stock price in light of Friday's lousy decision at the ITC.
We were trading at $26. and change at the beginning of February, and to be +/- $45. is great!
I remain very confident that great things are ahead in 2014 and beyond.

bobsil
loop,
You are one of a handful of posters that I always pay attention to. You selflessly offer free legal opinion and other information that is pricelessto me.
Thank you for everything! Let's hope the ITC finally gets it right!
Sincere best wishes to you and all longs!
Bob
IDCC doubled the dividend, substantially increased the buyback authorization, has reached new 52 week highs... and some people are still not happy?
Even if the ITC ID is not favorable tomorrow, which based on past history is a distinct possibility, my confidence in my investment here has never been at a higher level.
Best of luck to all longs, tomorrow and beyond.
bobsil
Not getting audio. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks very much for your detailed reply regarding puts.
I think I will just stay "put" in my very long position and ride this baby as long as I can. "Only" been riding since 1994, what's another few months (or years!)
Best regards,
bobsil
You stated a while ago that you exited your position in IDCC.
Is this still the case? If so I'm curious as to your continued postings that tend to focus on potential negative outcomes.
As stated above, I'm just "curious".
