Company has been through three name changes, and you are still following it. Wow! Are you making any money yet?
Any idea what happened here?
It looks like things are getting pretty rough now for homeowners in North Dakota. I read these article this morning: http://finance.yahoo.com/news/oil-crash-crushing-homeowners-two-211500334.html
Still holding my 12,000 shares!
I have been following 56Chevy and EI for years. I found their work when looking for information on Thornburg Mortgage. They seem to get things right more times than not.
If the patent case has concluded, wouldn't BD now have to pay the $352 million for the other claims?
How do you guys find all the deal banks before anyone else? FBP has looked real good since your post. It was just trading at $6.75 a couple of days ago.
IDPK acquired PBSK only last January and later went public. That was quick!
It reminds me of the instructions on the back of a shampoo bottle: Wash, rinse and repeat.
EI, will PPBI get taken over next year?
Huge move in only five weeks. Great call.
Interesting. I want to make sure I got this tax deferral thing right.
The employee would have exercised an option in January. Taxes would have been paid in April 2015, but because gain was reinvested in the 401-k throughout 2014 no taxes would actually be due. I think I got it?
Trying to catch up with you guys while on vacation with family.
Why would you sell shares in a taxable account only to buy them back in IRA at the exact same price? Wouldn't you end up with same profit in the end if you just held? What am I missing?
Thanks for the PM. I don't spend much time here anymore, but keep up with you and EI as best I can. You guys have a quite a run picking the right banks. Keep it up!
I noticed that a good chunk of earnings were made up of reversing loan loss provisions. You guys know your banks. Where's EI's head on this one?
I see your first post was less than two weeks ago. Stock is up big today! When did you invest in CRZBD?
I can spot a trend. Both are companies that EI follows.
Really missed a money-making opportunity here.
I'll take it another step - EI brings material factsto the table. People need to be paying attention to his work. Not sure if it's intentional, but you need to do a little digging! There always some gold nuggets to be found. LOL.
Why not share with the rest of the class?
Happy for you. Wonder why PACW waited six months to raise the bid $.75?
I think it's really time to pass out the cigars now! Anyone know many EI banks merged this year?
EI told investors they were "screwed" a long time ago.
DYN is the parent to Dynegy Holdings, the subsidiary currently operating in Chapter 11. Based on EI postings below, some "good assets" were moved over from DH to DYN. This made DH weaker and eventually led to the bankruptcy. This was a "big no-no". The proposed settlement will push those assets back to DH and leave creditors owning 99% of the new parent.
I hope I got all of this right?
Can you explain what defines "excess" in excess mortgage servicing rights?
EI and 56Chevy were M&A machines today. Not one, but two companies in which they act as mods were involved in takeover activity. Wow!
Take the time to review their postings, epecially boards they mod. Ask questions. They will answer.
I don't always follow posters, but when I do, I prefer EI and 56Chevy. LOL
These guys take the time to provide real, timely information. Thanks!
Wonderful, but isn't a little late? I mean 56Chevy and EI put this board in action in December 2010. Where was it trading then?
Looks like it only dropped 4.94 percent!
Pretty darn close in my book.
Bank failures in California seem to have slowed down. What parts of the country still have banks in need of capital?
USG is heading towards a triple now!
Wrong! What? I don't think so. I think what you and Chevy presented made sense.
Nothing invested in either preferred, but really wish I did now. I know who would get my vote!
You own any? Is it too late to make money here? I have been watching these and EHPTP. Worried these would follow the same pattern?
Any idea how much of the professional fees are strictly legal? Then how much relates to the cost of recovery litigation? I'm just concerned that the net recovery rate may not be worth the effort.
I think EI once explained that the principal amount was $300 million with the difference being prepetition interest.
The links to the Adfitech settlement in the Sticky Note no longer work. I am sure the answer is in there somewhere.
Been following boards run by these two guys for a couple of years. Very little noise found elsewhere. Spend time reading old posts. Ask them questions. These guys will get back with you.
Just like anyone else would say now, wish it had been me! Pricing seems to fluctuate widely, which appears common with bonds. Hope there is still a chance to get in?
The "Bad Actors" case as you call it has been going on a long time. What dollar amount of damages were sought from Dempsey and Orrick?
Looks like a great call. Since it has decline from $23.50, is it a now a Buy?
When did you change your outlook?
I may be a novice at what you guys do, but the case looks like early WaMu - filled with lawsuits. What is EI working on? He has been too quiet here!
I am not sure what else to call going from $24 billion in assets to a mere $108.4 million?
My very first post on iHub was right here just over two years ago. I have learned a great deal from EI. His rates are also really low - it costs you nothing.
I do not think we "feel better to keep posting the same thing" or agree with you anybody that does not own senior notes is a moron". I honestly believe 56Chevy and EI are trying to help people by posting facts, providing analysis and answering questions. You are always free to ignore their work.
Great question thmr450? I have some, too.
Can you tell me when we get some good news on the unemployment front? I would particularly interested in knowing when the rate will dip below 8 percent? I will even give your crystal ball a 90-day window to see if you get it right.
Of course you can't. Now, why in the world would expect EI to be able to know when cases will be resolved if they are still fighting small battles to determine if any of these actually go to trial?
On a serious note, I just got rehired after being cut in April. I took a break from iHub because of a lack of investment funds. I was lucky because my package covered me until the end of June.
Have you ever thought about the risk that THMRQ retraces the pattern back to its all-time low due to the lack of any news?
I can only suggest you pay attention to EI. You might be able to not only make some money but also avoid losing some.
