Are you here in El Do, Chemic?
I don't know where the previous poster gets his info from, but here in El Do it's also crazy busy at all 3 plants trying to satisfy sales demand/orders and gearing up for such.
ChemicSpirit, I don't know who you were referring to as the "cheaper contract worker", but for myself, I know for a fact that my billing rate for CEM work is quite a bit more than the pay scales they have for most of their onboard talent. They just don't have the manpower to accomplish the projects required in the present since going lean, and I'm happy to step in.
Exactly. I know Tetrabrom production is gearing up for a 6 month run on Chinese sales (stockpiling), despite just recently having been partially de-commisioned, or at least mothballed. Now CEMJQ is jumping thru their ass to bring tetrabrom prod back up to meet sales demands.
OK by me...More sales translates into more things the bad guys just can't hide in evaluating the company...
It would absolutely help our cause. But then again I wonder if the bad guys (those without any EC interest) may sandbag the sales orders that we're gearing up for, capital-exp-wise. That way, even tho the extra sales orders may not be official, we know they're there, are forging ahead to meet the demand, but they're not gonna be showing up on the balance sheet which will aid the bad guys in their cause of keeping the PPS down prior to emergence.....
Just a thought...
Who'da thunk it?
Let's hope so...noticing and taking notes!
We were/have been ready to relocate a bromine tower from one plant to another in order to streamline ops, but corporate decided with the load of orders coming in to delay it once again until probably the end of the year. Sales are great right now...shame they couldn't have been this great back when the co. tanked...
But then again had they been great then, we wouldn't be enjoying this conversation while sitting on a potential gold mine right now, now would we????? ;)
Go EC and bring this baby home!!!
I've got a sizeable stake in this too...not only in my professional livelihood/making my bill collectors happy, but also in my investment portfolio.
Sure don't like the bashing on this board from those that scare easily and enjoy spreading panic and thriving on bad news.
Been in since .056 and am definitely long.
The glory land is in sight!!! Hang tight!
Hey guys, if it helps any, my Chemtura workload is continuing to pile up. Corporate is doing alot of strange things, engineering-wise, in order to meet demand for various products, which are apprently being scarfed up and stockpiled by the Chinese.
I've done contract engineering/design work for GLCC/Chemtura now for 14 years and my workload with them has never been so intensive. CEM is once-again a money-making outfit and their customers know it and show it thru demand for their products.
Long live CEMJQ/CEM and GLTA!!!
Thanks heber...boy do I feel stupid now!
Like I said...must be old age, brain fart or something else that causes me to seize up in thought sometimes.
Sorry guys, maybe passing a brain stone or something. Been here since the beginning (or close...in at 5.6 cents)...
What does POR stand for? Like I said, I consider myself fairly financial savvy...but I've just drawn a blank with this one. I know it's important and will be out next week, but duhhhh
Thanks in advance and GLTA!
Hi gentlemen,
Haven't posted in awhile...been too busy here in South Arkansas designing new Chemtura equipment layouts. As far as work is concerned, have been going balls-to-the-walls on Chemtura projects for a few months now with much more planned and new projects coming in almost weekly for bid packages. Granted some of the projects are small, they are definitely in a lean and mean configuration for emergence from bk. Consolidating several of the El Do Central and South Plant processes/functions...things that should have already been done. Will certainly make Chemtura even more profitable.
In it for the long-haul...remember so fondly back when the stock price was at $28 pps and higher...will certainly be glad to see that again one of these days...
GLTA!
RayDaddy,
Just a little extra engineering info from your favorite (Lipsey man) here in El Do.
We (my company) are getting geared up for a pretty good expansion/revamp in fine chemicals...this unit produces MeCL (methyle bromide)...crop protection, to be completed by year-end. Supposedly, crop prot chems are still going to be produced by Chemtura for the time being.
As well, the pilot plant I worked on a few months back is producing a new product for another (local) buyer/producer, with hopes of another new plant down the road. Don't know the tech aspects of the new product (was told they'd have to kill me if they told me :) ), but all tests on the first few batches were good and promsing.
One other note...Tetra is in full swing gearing up to start buying product from Chemtura for production. My son recently went to work for them and tells of an excellent outfit with alot of promise and a bright future in partners with Chemtura...looks like a continuing long-term relationship.
I just hope I can wire funds to AT in time to get in on this on Monday!
Sure its a dip...A BIG DIP...but it's also buying time, because we all know where this is going!
This is gonna be a shock for those away from the board right now when they come back. We all know that CEM will bounce back...always has...always will.
Still a shock to see a 1 day drop like this tho...
Heck, back when I began engineering contract work for Great Lakes, it was in the high 20's...I remember my boss stating that he wished it would get back up there in value (and this was in '94, and it was at $28 then!!!).
CW...I'm living proof you can't flip this one! I've flipped plenty of stocks over the past years...tried this one twice and came out on the short end both times...
Learned my lesson (too darned expensive to buy back in). In it for the long haul!
Man!!! Been gone awhile and now back. This stock is something...but you CANNOT FLIP IT!!! Tried twice, both times much more expensive to get back in. Still way up tho from the start. Each time I flipped was after meetings/relations with skiddish engineering employees at Great Lakes (Chemtura) who keep saying that come BK exit time, the commons will cancel. I get tired of trying to convince them that this shouldn't happen in this case.
At any rate, last flip I used some of the profit to re-fi my house (only $4000 from the sale of my CEM shares), but then using that profit will save me $72,000 over the life of my mortgage, so my savings there certainly cancels out any loss I endured while flipping.
Of course, hindsight is 20-20...only wish I had snapped up some of the 2.6 cent shares way back when (instead of my 5.6 cent shares) like some of the local (El Dorado) folks did...I'm still happy with this tho...can't dwell on hindsight...just thankful I got in when I did.
This is an awesome, life-changing opportunity!!!
Thanks to all of you encouragers who do your homework!!!
Well said rj, well said (applauds rjhstock)...
Almost looks like it...man!...getting the 3rd degree here!
Agreed...we need to keep production here, rather than buying from the only other major worldwide deposits in the Middle East...
Sounds like with CEM spinning off PVC additives and other losing sides, they're gonna focus on Bromine and derivatives production...their original core industry.
Good day all...loving this action.
Just got word of what the new (local) Chemtura West Plant expansion will be that I'll soon be a part of...a new, 2nd Bromine vacuum tower along with all the associated vessels. From what I understand, CEM is planning on boosting capacity at the local west plant quite a bit...sounds to me like product already sold for orders next year.
As well, a local sister chem company very near CEM is busy this week cranking up a grass-roots chem plant that will take some of CEM's product, produce more products, then sell back to CEM some of their own product.
As this BK churns along, CEM under Rogerson continues to plan for a profitable and growth-oriented future.
All the more reason to enjoy this fabulous ride!!!
GLTA
Thanks estimator and turbo, steadily picking up little pieces of this new language...and loving every minute of this ride!
Excellent summations turbo.
BTW, as a newbie, I'm picking up on some of the lingo used here, but, please forgive my ignorance, what/who is DOMs, and JEFF?
Thanks,
hawk
Thanks turbo, I'll certainly look into Alpha...
Not really a day or swinger, but have been known to buy/sell daily as well as over a few weeks time.
Don't know anyone locally that invests heavily, so always open to handy apps...
Thanks again
Gang, as a newbie to this type of trading (other than buy and hold for LT without keeping up with daily action), what desktop apps would you recommend me installing/joining/becoming a member of?
I trade thru TDAmeritrade and other than this BB I'm conversing with you now on, I only keep up with things lightly via the TDAmeritrade streamer to my desktop...no subscriptions, just the basic streamer.
You guys certainly must use some other app/suite to track detailed action...any pointers for a newbie???
Hey all, echoing what Watkins said, I just learned that the big-wig in town day before yesterday just gava a pep talk, stay the course, things are looking better, hope to have this BK overwith by end of year, some orders/sales are doing great, some are down, yada, yada...
Sounds like CEMJQ will continue to be a great investment when it goes back to the big board, after BK is over with, and from then on...
Sure would love to see those mid-20s again!!!
Indeed a good time to lock-up a few more shares during this dip...just picked up another 5k...
Let's see this continue to rise again now. Still awaiting word from some of my "contacts" here in El Do on the latest from the corporate big guys...
I imagine so (increased security in light of Lion Oil's incident).
Brings back scenarios of 9-11. I worked part-time for the S.O. during grad school at that time and spent many a night in a patrol car outside of the gate/s waiting for nothing to happen. Still better safe than sorry.
As well...in light of the recent secretive process I just completed design on for CEM (that is sold to another Chemical Company holder inside the South Plant...no names mentioned), maybe they're halfway worried about some type of industrial espionage...they do have a lock in this part of the world on Brine/bromine extraction and derivatives processes...???
Just got back from central plant here in El Do...not many managers around (???could they be meeting with big wig???), plus addition of sheriff's deputy at front gate, all in the name of escalation of homeland security procedures...
RayDaddy...good to know another local player on this board. I'm also your local Lipsey's man (I know that rings a bell)...
Let's see this CEMJQ take us to the rich house!
Excellent summarization, hfields. Reinforces the positive aspects of "the lakes" at this point in BK time...
Anytime I can help legitimately, honestly fuel this fire with priviledged information from the company that I've had an intimate relationship with since 1994, I'll certainly be guilty of.
I love this action and hope it continues, though still a little skiddish holding the shares, particularly after the close call I had with holding the GMGMQ shares and selling them the DAY BEFORE THEY WENT UNLISTED...man, that was too CLOSE.
From reading everyone's posts here and having the working knowledge of Chemtura that I do, I honestly think we're all on a great roll here that will take many of us into early retirement or to Cabo or to new levels of financial comfort :) !!!
Hey folks, for what it's worth, I was just notified of 2 more projects I'm getting ready to design for Chemtura...1 small project at the central plant and 1 larger expansion project at the West plant (both here in El Dorado)...
Apparently, their orders are continuing to pour in and they know they've got a solid future...
I can honestly see me being able to retire early if this roll keeps up!
Hey WatkinsGlen, so do I (live in El Dorado)...in fact, most of my design work is for Chemtura (central plant). In fact, just got news today of another new project next month at the West Plant to boost productivity...sounds like they're moving ahead and moving well...
I got in at 5.6 cents per share...only wish I'd bought more than 20k at at that price!
South Ark operations is about to crank-up a new promising new process with a local big-name (chemical co.) buyer. This could be a money-maker for Chemtura...hopefully will be and will be able to be marketed to other chem clients.
Which turnaround? El Dorado cental plant, south plant???
Thanks much.
As I mentioned previously, being new here (though lurking for a few weeks), is there any chance, in each of your expert honest opinions, of CEMJQ doing what GMGMQ did last week (the shares becoming worthless) near/at the emergence point in November? I don't see that happening, but then again, I'm a newbie at this and am seeking your opinions, from what you've seen so far. I made a little off of the GMGMQ, but certainly don't want to get stuck holding the CEMJQ if it goes South in a hurry...still can't see that happening with all the work I'm currently scheduled to Chemtura.
Hi all...new to this board. Picked up my 20k of CEMJQ at 5.6 cents a few months back. I know Chemtura has a good future...actually contract out to them locally for engineering work and have just finished a new promising process...
I do remember a few years back when GLCC (forerunner of Chemtura) traded in the $40s per share...sure would like to see that again. From what I'm aware of going on at the local level at CEMJQ, after restructuring and gaining new orders, we should see the stock gain well...maybe not into the 40s, but close within time.
