Low cost phone batterys.
Though I like "New" technology, I generally don't seek out the newest phones. Part of that is, I don't use a phone to text/email and as for GPS...the screens are too small.
As a result, my phone battery is usually the reason I'd replace a phone. (Seriously, AT&T couldn't provide me with a battery for a phone 2-years old?)
I went on Amazon, wow!...a battery for my phone for less than $4!
(Shipping included.) The battery is identical to the original, in every way.
Works super, now I can have it on backup for an entire week, still have two out of three-bars of battery left.
The vender was Seller1on1, the battery was an LGIP-430N.
Sorry I didn't answer sooner!
Yep, the tomcat is now with a Black "trigger". Don't know why they changed. I filled the bait-cup with a dab of peanutbutter, and the mice get very little of it. (You may not have to rebait for an entire season.) I used to use the Victor traps, but you may notice they pick-up odors. The Tomcat traps empty without touching the jaws of the trap, and 6-traps used for two years...not one has been found tripped (And empty) or stripped of bait.
Your welcome. I like to pass on stuff that is of a significant-value/cost effective.
18 meeces from the 1 1/2-car garage alone. The boatshed is less closed in, and this year found no evidence of mice. (Traps still have the peanutbutter untouched.
Having had a vet bill, for someone else's dog...due to them getting a bait-pack of warfarin (The dog was in my Mother's home garage and not potty-trained.) I don't use any poison.
The dog survived.
The traps I use are not the wooden one's. White plastic, have red at the "Trigger" to warn. A couple of the traps have caught a half-dozen each, on one small-dab of bait.
The series is "Tomcat", I forget the brand. It appears to be more humane and effective, than others I've used.
Yep. My truck would be $1100. And that would be replacing every component myself.
Yah, it's very-likely that if you did the "Flush and Fill" on the the outdated Freon system, it would be any good anyway.
Big improvement. The other stuff should be minor.
My 'ol Bud used to want up on the couch with me, but Lazer prefers to sleep on Mom's lap.
...unless it's storming...then he wants ME! lol.
Charlie looks relaxed and happy!
Thanks D A.
I remember the first time I saw Joe's "Bucher Tails" in the baitshops, I was Pleasantly astonished. (For one thing, there was one of his Massive 14" models for LARGE Musky's!)
We used to fish Phantom (Upper, mostly) Lake, and I think the biggest thing we caught were the northern pikes, right in front of his Dad's bar...directly of the pier. Out in the rowboat, a few nice bluegills. Joe caught some smallmouth bass. (little ones)
I'm behind in getting the garden ready. (I think I say that every year!)...it was raining a lot, rained this morning. I have the front-bed tilled, and the backyard patch for the sunflowers.
It defiantly will have frost, I'd bet..Maybe try for putting in some plants in the backyard around mid-to-third week of may.
Some years I get away with it, some years I don't.
[/Very soonb] I'll have to mow the acre, and I still haven't re-attached the boat-motor's lower unit. (It's all set though.)
I want to do that soon.
We had 3-days of rain and lightning, the Grass is going NUTZ!
Dad always said, "After a good-strong lightning storm,(and the input to the nitrogen-cycle) you can hear the corn grow."...no corn planted, but it applies to grass too.
Hi Larry!...
I got a Big 'ol kettle of southern-style chicken and dumplin's going.
The chicken is about to fall-off the bones, time to make the dumplings!
I know the feelings, I think.
We've got awhile before we can have pleasant weather outside in the morning...Without a set schedule, this time of year I have trouble getting "motivated".
...Pretty soon the lawn will be part of my 'motivation", lol.
Just remember to take some time for yourself.
I let my taxes go for awhile, but when I did 'em..I used a digital-copy H&Rblock and Efiled our taxes and Mother-in-law's taxes.
Refunds came in about 2-weeks. I could hardly believe it.
Thank you Biz. Every prayer helps.
We are OK, and the kids/grandkids that were in-line with the storms progress merely had some high-winds for awhile. The air-temps in Wisconsin were quite a bit cooler, than just south of us...and it kinda sucked the strength right-out of the tornado.
Thank you Rob. Now just a bit of time is needed for the healing.
Lois had been in decline for over three years. It had been a rough-time for Shelley and brother Mike.
Prayers out to the ppl in Rochelle Il., there was a massive Mile-wide tornado just passed thru there about an hour ago.
Here it was storming the last two-days, our tornado-watch expired just minutes ago...but still concerned about our son and his family are in the track of the storm from Rochelle. The weather ppl predicted the tornado would dissipate once it hit our colder-air...but could still have high winds.
Shelley's Mom passed away Tuesday. Shelley and I went to the funeral home and finalized the paperwork, we had the family together for the viewing today. It stormed all day.
I love Steak, looks nice.
Thank Ye.
Depending on snow-cover (Lack of it) frost can go quite deep. This year Mid-January and most of Feb. were bitter-cold, but we had some snow-cover.
It wasn't real deep. I was surprised there were NO earthworms.
For years I used to cultivate with pitchfork only, to help the "Earthy's" survive.
There may be some ice yet, soon gone...But in the northern-half of Wisconsin..the melt really hasn't begun. (According to one of my High-school classmates, Guide Joe Bucher.)
I did some tilling, ground was perfect not too much/too little moisture. No earthworms in the area I tilled...still too cold for them, I guess.
Most years I have compost to distribute, but I used it all last spring to make another spot for sunflowers. The left-over cane/stems from the sunflowers don't compost well, so I need to burn them. Hopefully a day will come along that doesn't have 15-30 MPH-winds! (Winds must be less than 9mph to get permit)
....Dr Oz is a crank.
Not that all the info that comes up on his show is false.
"Never operated on a smoker.." What ...he refused, or did so few operations? Guess I'll have to add to 'His' list, lets see...
"Also a Bigot"
..LOL.
I need some outdoor-time, otherwise I want to eat. Still 15Lbs away from my target.
[/VISIT b]childhungerendshere.com to participate in food/meals to Kids in need.
Look for food packs with Red pin's or Feeding America logo's. (Or enter this code at the website 34804245)
Sounds like a good idea. I do that with the Marigolds I use as borders, plant hundreds of them.
About to go outside and try the electric cultivator for abit, if it's dry enough. That way spring rains can soak deeper. I usually go over it again, just before planting. (Gets rid of weeds)
Burpee's sells the SweetLeaf Stevia, $4.95 for 15-lousy seeds!
...Over $11 for One Plant.
I have to do errands, C-Ya's later.
Look into diabetic-safe sweetners. (If you have pets, be aware some sustitutes are toxic to dogs/other pets.)
pumpkin-pie, anyone?
To make Pumpkin-pie, start with "Preparing" your pumpkins...
Low sodium soups and rice dishes? Salads?
It is hard to come up with stuff that tastes anywhere near as good as the high-fat, high-sugar and sodium-drenched we crave.
I don't mind a salad, I could have one daily. I like Bok-choy and anisette (Hard to find around here) Iceberg lettuce is available but low in healthy nutrient, fresh spinach is in the store every day, but then you keep hearing spinach-recalls for Listeria...
I gave up Bacon completely after my heart attack. (For over 1 year)..Now when the garden produces our own lettuce, I'll make wilted salad (Hot bacon-oil, cider vinegar and sugar) and nothing will stop me from BLT's...as long as I live. (I can get "by" on turkey-bacon 3-times out of 4)
I'll pass-on anything that I find that is exceptional.
Thanks. *Buurp*...Excuse me please.
I have only the bay window, for sunny exposure...and I'd be reluctant to put plants there, on my lovingly-crafted and finely-finished Oak.
It'll be awhile before we get "Planting weather" by us.
I'll fill in the time getting the boat, truck and mowers ready to go. Think the truck is done 'cept a taillight issue. Boat just needs the lower-unit back on..and mower needs another spindle in the deck.
As soon as the ground drys, I could start tilling, I suppose.
...That's funny, really. My Wife likes casseroles...just NOT the one's I really like. Can't Win, LOL.
We both like Fattening-stuff, way too much.
I use it for Transplanting all the plants I buy or start in our front flowerbeds.(The Bricks of the house, and morning-Sun is like having a greenhouse)...the miracle grow solution (2Tblsp per 5 gallons of water) prevents transplanting-shock more effectively than water alone.
I lot less fertilizer than I used to. Main reason is the compost I add each spring during cultivation.
Crust is a bit overdone.
...I was using 475F, like a brick oven would be.
Best results for one you want to freeze, 450 preheat, then bake BARE pizza crust 5 minutes, and THEN top and freeze.
For the first one make complete and bake at 425. Ovens vary so check at 15 minutes and keep checking.(Maybe as long as 18 min.)
For the frozen one, 425F and check at 18-to-22 min.
One sweet red pepper and a medium-sized red-onion will cover 2 pizzas. For sausage I used Johnsonville Italian-sausage and added,
1 lb sasage,
1 1/2 tablspn whole oregano
1 1/2 tablspn Basil
1 teaspoon crushed fennel (If you can find it, if not..no matter)
1 teaspn garlic powder or 1 garlic-clove, finely-minced.
1 teaspn onion powder.
Mix well and PRE-cook before topping pizza. Break it up as irt cooks, or cook thin pattys and cut with pizza-cutter after draining oil away.
Really, really Lazy!....Not like me at all...
I'm just sorta-lazy normally..
Yeah, mostly winter is getting to me. We been getting some lousy pizza's when we get the store-bought ones. Shelley wanted me to try my own.
Dough
1 pack yeast (1/4 oz) or 2 1/4 teaspn quickrise dry yeast.(1/3 cake-yeast)
1 tablspn sugar
1 cup 120F water
2 tablespn olive-oil Mix together in bowl, set for ten minutes in a warm place...should look "creamy" when ready, on surface.
2 1/2 cup flour (I use all purpose, Bread-flour will be crisper)
1 teaspn Salt
Blend yeast-mix and dry ingredients together and form into a ball..leave dough in bowl and cover. Rest for AT LEAST 5 minutes. Usually I would cut up the sweetpeppers and onions, olives at this time.
Resting time is variable up to about 15 minutes.
I spread dough directly to pan and gradually work to the edges from center, on a lightly-oiled pizza-pan.
Put sauce on first, a thin-layer goes pretty-far. then the cheese, then veggies. Last would be meat. Raw Pork-based sausage should be pre-cooked to Grey!
Weather is the reason I've not been active. If it weren't subZero's, it was too-freakin' gusty to enjoy the outdoors.
Most of my life (Including working-life) was outdoors a lot. The weather is finally improving. I should go into the county seat and buy a new battery for my truck. The last one only went 7 years. lol.
