Company Unveils New Corporate Platform to Reposition Southwest Resources and Build Shareholder Value
DALLAS, Oct. 16, 2009 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Southwest Resources, Inc. (the "Company"), formerly known as Apollo Drilling, Inc. (Pink Sheets:SWRS), today announced that the Company is in the process of redefining its corporate platform to include not only the development of petroleum-based production assets, but also to encompass the development and production of other natural resource assets such as raw specialty gases and precious metals. The new platform is a direct response to the current credit and equity markets and potential upswing in commodity prices.
Under the new corporate platform the Company will take the following proactive steps:
* Issue 1.5 million shares of common stock to Evolution Fuels, Inc.
("Evolution") in settlement of a note payable of $150,000 owing
to Evolution.
* Acquire a majority and controlling interest in Duke Mining L.L.C.
("Duke"). Premere Resources, Inc., will own a minority and non-
controlling interest in Duke Mining. Duke owns the mining
rights to 640 acres of land in the state of Utah with
significant placer deposits of precious metals.
* Exchange a $710,000 note payable due to Premere Resources, Inc.
for an 8% interest in Duke and a $200,000 note payable bearing
an interest rate of 6.5% per annum.
* Acquire 40 acres of oil and gas properties in Creek County,
Oklahoma.
* Actively pursue the accumulation of domestic oil and gas
producing properties that will match the scale of the business
and further expand the Company's asset base.

This can be done at half the price of any other biofuel stock,
11 billion pounds of chicken feather meal are accumulated annually by the poultry industry in the U.S., and if a process developed by scientists in Nevada moves forward, those chicken parts could be used to produce 153 million gallons of biodiesel a year, and 593 million gallons worldwide.

Chicken feather meal consists of processed chicken feathers, blood, and innards that have been steam processed at high temperatures, and because of its high protein and nitrogen content is currently used as animal feed and fertilizer. The meal also has a 12% fat content, which could be used as a nonfood feedstock to make biodiesel.

votesBuzz up!The process is touted as being environmentally friendly and would extract the fat from chicken feather meal using boiling water. Researchers say that removal of the fat content from feather meal makes for both a higher-grade animal feed and a better nitrogen source for fertilizer.
The study from the University of Nevada, by Mano Misra, Susanta Mohapatra, Narasimharao Kondamudi, and Jason Strull, is published online in the Journal of Agricultural and Food Chemistry: A Green Process for Producing Biodiesel from Feather Meal
Hope this works,

Meanwhile, the Austin Business Journal is also reporting that New Braunfels will soon be getting more new jobs, this time in the form of another large highway truck stop along I-35. Evolution Fuels, and its newly acquired subsidiary, Legends Travel Centers, have signed a letter of intent to build a new 15-acre western-motif truck stop along I-35, similar to the company’s flag ship location called Willie’s Place Truck Stop near Hillsboro, named after the red-haired stranger Willie Nelson. And that means the new travel center will offer blends of biodiesel, and will include dining facilities, a premium convenience store, and western-themed memorabilia. Other recent business announcements: Sports Clips, a sports-themed barbershop, opened its doors one week ago at the Creekside shopping complex, and we’re getting word that the Scooter Store is continuing the hiring process and will be ready to move into their new location at the old Kroger building near the beginning of August.
Biodiesel Magazine reports that Bioenergy of America and its two biodiesel facilities in Colorado lost a bankruptcy case. Bioenergy was building an 80 Mgy biodiesel plant in New Jersey but lost financing in January of 2007. The case was dismissed because Bioenergy couldn’t come up with exit financing to pay for administrative expenses and salaries. The company must now surrender the unfinished plant in NJ and the two Colorado plants will be served eviction notices.

NEW YORK, Jan 9 (Reuters) - New Jersey biodiesel producer U.S. Bioenergy of America, Inc, filed for bankruptcy protection this week, the latest bad news for the infant U.S. biodiesel industry,
The company, based in Edison, New Jersey, filed for the protection in the U.S. Bankruptcy Court in Trenton, court records showed.
The company, which has production plants in Colorado, listed debts of $10 million to $50 million and assets of between $1 million and $10 million.
Biodiesel producers have suffered in recent months as prices for soy, the main U.S. feedstock for the alterative fuel, have soared. Soy prices hit a record of over $13 a bushel this week on global demand for vegetable oils for food and fuels.
Still, surging oil prices and government incentives helped the biodiesel industry to triple to about 250 million gallons in sales in 2006, the latest year for which statistics are available.
By comparison, U.S. ethanol industry capacity recently topped 7.5 billion gallons per year. The U.S. government offers $1 per gallon in incentives for biodiesel, which can be blended into motor fuel and heating oil.
Earlier this month, Imperium Renewables, Inc, the largest biodiesel producer on the U.S. West Coast, withdrew its plan for an initial public offering, citing unspecified unfavorable market conditions.
Late last month, Imperium Chairman and CEO Martin Tobias left the Seattle-based company. No explanation was given for his departure.
U.S. Bioenergy did not immediately return phone calls about the filing. (Reporting by Timothy Gardner; Editing by Christian Wiessner)
