One thing about Hedge’s, is they would never spend Million$ of dollars of their own Money to fight for something that won’t pay off….

So explain why the underwriters wanted to be in class 19 and actually fight to stay there? lawyers are not free… just in case, someone didn’t know that.

When they were guaranteed $72mil in class 18….

Just in case, I need to actually write this again.. it helps me with common sense.

They left the $72mil in class 18, and then fought to stay in class 19?

Why would they want $$ NOTHING as you claim that’s what we are getting for class 19 and 22?

You are right, why would they have us fill out the W9 if we were NOT getting cut a check.

You would NOT need a W9 if the brokers were going to take care of distributions.
Just a thought? The markers were in there just for the shares that we received, and the LT will be using our W9’s to cut checks!! Positive thinking.

Because the brokers have our Social Security number and could report to the IRS the exact amount, then why have us fill out the W9 for us to get zero money in return?

So right after POR 7 was signed off by everyone that inked it, the hedgies, and other inside people know what money is coming back. That is a reason not one group has filed any lawsuits and are just waiting.
So I’m good with waiting a bit longer, especially if the payouts even at the lowest numbers would be a great payout.
14 years will for sure need to be big for hedgies, and brokers to have “waited” around.

Lucky for us as A few here has said we are riding in on the coattails of the above groups, and will have a chance of a lifetime for a huge payout.

W9 would not be functional for stocks, but for a check!!! Yes

I’m ok with either, as most would be. If we get egg on our face, no one’s gonna care, but us.

I just find it hard to believe that the hedge funds would take a beating so bad with their mouths duct taped shut.

That is one of the reasons I’m making an assumption that we will get paid something.

Now that our escrow markers have dropped off my brokerages(Schwab and TD), that may have been there just for the place marker for just the Coop shares that were given to us.

I do find that odd that Wamu is not discussed.

They made the movie “The Big Short” and never mentioned WAMU. Lehman and others mentioned, but no WAMU.

The funny thing is the only mention of it was just a booth at a Vegas banking conference. Just a booth in the background. Not one word though said?

I think that tells a story as to why they would not mention one of the oldest banks in history…As it was chopped up and given away.

Also, I’m excited being lumped in with a group that cheated and fought to get in class 19 for just a “measly” 1%? That must be a decent chunk of money to give up $72 million for 1%. And also to spend money to fight to stay in.

Well I see common sense that the UW’s know that 19 has money or they wouldn’t have made sure they had some class 19 pie, even with 1%?
Opinion: BIG PIE for 1% to make it worth it?

So, I find this as common sense that the UW’s know/knew something that joe-public didn’t know. “The true value of class 19 and possibly even 22”?

Obviously, class 19 is loaded out and the UW’s 1% must be enormous?

I think most share in that thought process..

Hedge funds are here to make money, tons of money.

They would not have signed releases unless they knew a massive amount of money was coming back.
Why would they keep their money/ clients money tied up with zero returns for that many years?

Because, they are waiting on a huge payday!!
While most of us here that has escrows will be just riding with them.

They get money, we get money!! Simple as that.. GLTA and make it a great day!

My opinion is, there is a reason Wamu has been left out of reports, videos, and news..

I have emailed Melanie Fein over the years on this bankruptcy and have got mixed signals or indirect answers. So definitely this is one bankruptcy that is a different animal as everyone here knows.

Melanie is a banking attorney, writer, and family friend and is caught up in the mix of the banking industry.

And yes, I will keep my Coop shares for a bit to see where they head.
