I stand corrected, the losses were at only 8 Million. Which is still all the funds. I didn't mean to say 18. Anyway with the recent news of the Army and Marines buying from others which nobody on this board publishes, it is pretty clear that a name change is not going to save this fiasco created by Brock, while ASPW is attempting to fix it with a new face. It is still a solar assembly co with an overpriced under performing wind turbine.
Where are the numbers? That would put them on the road to success, no numbers, no news.
Who cares if the power is on demand? You can already draw power from any system when you need it.
There is no shake off from the past happening yet, while you guys publish articles on here that have nothing to do with the company. Industry news, not ASPW news at all. The POD news in the industry is in regard to MW and GW power, ASPW has no business in that game, they do not even say such a thing, but posters on here repeatedly bring it up. ASPW is in the micro generation business. So let us start with that category. Everything else is not relevant
Mferraro
Stock options/rewards are one thing. Look at the 10Q, there are no rewards to be had based on that.
Cash on hand don't look to sweet to me.
I don't know how some of you consider some us who speak the truth naysayers. It is all in the history and 10Q's.
This company has consumed almost 18MM dollars already folks. The stock is already higher than it should be for a company that installs solar panels made by someone else, with no sales funnel.
POD is a great sales gimmick, somebody explain how you can justify the costs vs benefit to the customer? This question has always been avoided.
Mferraro
The Brock patents, now property of ASPW are not enforceable patents, anybody can copy the concept. They are essentially a copy of the expired Grumman patent. Brock's own sales manager quit and copied the design, formed another co etc. There is no recourse on those filings.
Brock knows this, it already happened to him.
Remember the company that Brock took 50k order advancement from? Well they copied the Tamer a long time ago, sorry the name escapes me..but anyway the patents don't hold water.
Why doesn't everyone copy them? Because it is ridiculously expensive to build and does not produce any additional power over open bladed design that cost one third.
And ol Schmitty buying shares at that price just tells me the company needs more money, and no matter what happens he is safe. Of course they have a lock up period, you can't do such a thing any other way. Great odds for him. So what is the price per share for public companies that just resell solar panels? That is what you should be concerned with.
Just keeping it real. I know you guys miss me, I have been busy, I will try to add more content every day. ;)
Mferraro
Read this and take some meds. Mr Brock this, Mr Brock that...works on instinct, yikes! I like the last statement the best.
Should have a disclaimer though..I was fired from my own company last year for saying the same stupid sh*t.
http://www.marketwire.com/press-release/brock-renewable-energy-research-development-corporation-a-qualified-emerging-technology-1350336.htm
No Pics of the famous Brock airfoils, data log link doesn't work, he has an aol email address...lol, and remains a super ego maniac who loves to see his name in articles, no matter how ridiculous.
Has this guy changed since June 2010? I think not.
Mferraro
WNDT typically lists the sale amount on their PR's..does anybody know how much Ultralife paid for the 8.0GT? Or was it posted and I missed it.
Mferraro
I believe the way it is supposed to work is the board stays the same and the symbol changes on the board, not move to another board. That is how it has worked in the past. ie ASPW.OB formerly WNDT.OB
Mferraro
Hold on a second here, I went to the new Arista website and those solar panels look like Brock panels! (couldn't resist that one)
So for those at the meeting did anyone ask any technical questions ie what makes this PoD system different from the existing solar and micro wind combo systems out there today? Or was the theme more about the company and the name change etc..
Can somebody please expain to me why you would store energy from micro solar and wind generation to be released in peak demand times rather than net metering it all day long? Off Peak and on Peak...The costs of storage negate the benefit of shaving any peak demand savings. The batteries only have 1200 cycles, then you have to replace them, very expensive indeed. You cannot get the same amount of energy out of a battery that you put in it, you cannot cycle them down to zero, after the dc to ac conversion even less is useable power. It is more cost effective to contribute energy to your demand all day, rather than to save it for peak demand pricing a few hours a day. Any opinions on this?
Mferraro
"announced today that its WindTamer wind turbine has been selected by Ultralife Corporation (NASDAQ:ULBI) as the wind component for a 1 megawatt-hour energy storage system demonstration project to be installed at Ultralife's Newark, New York corporate campus. Ultralife has purchased an 8.0GT model WindTamer turbine together with monitoring capabilities for the initial prototype installation."
Will somebody please enlighten me on how a WNDT 8.0GT will have any contribution "as the wind component" for a 1MWh energy storage system. Seriously, who writes these things? Isn't the rating of an 8.0GT like 5kw???? How many of those does it take for a MW? I guess the person who wrote this is the same person who decided to have the annual meeting on a Wed morning.
I know, I know, I am being negative about a positive PR. But cmon man, they print this stuff, and it doesn't make any sense.
Mferraro
I agree knowhow, this article is nothing but a pump job and is very missleading to say the least. Again there is nothing new about storing kw's of energy from micro based wind or solar. GE is not looking to do such a thing. They are working on MW and GW power storage for the grid. While there are already 3 companies doing so and have been for years, GE is just now looking into that business. It has nothing to do with the WNDT toy.
Where are the numbers, performance figures, sales? What on earth is going on over there? Why are all the other micro wind companies busy and this one is doing squat? How long does it take to even get to an average of one sale per month? Is that too much to ask? Publishing foolish statements in Forbes is NOT good for business, give me a break.
Mferraro
Yep I agree with you, Welch never did anything wrong. ENCS is just a company without a home. I would buy all of it if I were you. You are onto something big. All these people giving you advive are just trying to drive the price down because they can't afford it as the price boldly stands currently. Its a home run.
Mferraro
Ya I heard the same shit from a company that was going to hire 400 people to build a diffuser turbine in PA. Fits the mold here.
Ummm while I have your ear, what is the benefit of "power on demand" as oppossed to power consumtion during peak demand..shaving off of peak demand prices as opposed to not paying "off peak" electricty prices, what is the difference?
Small scale installations with this scheme is costly, so the costs of storing small amounts of "power" would be irrelevent to the cost of the storage vehicle, and its release during peak demand in kw's is kinda silly. The inherent losses of storage and "relaease " as they call it , is a fart. It is not measureable savings at all. Cash/kwh..wtf ??
Mferraro
wakl- have a look here about this group...lol Read all the posts.

Those are the same figures they published before....I am obviously talking about the figures from the improvements...duh, the figures they have not given us yet since the turbine didn't match the claims...hello??? I will remind you the installed units did not perform as claimed. Where are the improved performance figures? After they compensated the University pros..etc
This is not something I should be asking you! Give me the performance numbers, does anybody have them? Any third party verification numbers??? A customer, a wind tunnel testing facility, does anybody have anything to post in that regard?
Jersey Dude- I will remind you this wndt turbine has never performed as it was promoted, so please enlighten all of us how it has been improved.
MFerraro
Jeez, I was just asking a legit business question...lol. If the company published the output of the damn thing like every other wind company does...( We sold 3 turbines to a EU company that will produce X amount of energy...blah blah..) I wouldn't have to ask the questions on here.
So where are the improved performance figures? And why is this considered negative? Would you buy one without knowing this?
MFerraro
Question?? Have they solved the efficiency problem and claims of performance that plagued them without informing us? Why will these units work properly in the EU and not here? Something happened, was it a performance epiphany, or lack of proper DD that prompted a sale? Short term good news for WNDT, but what is the result if the units fall short as they have here? I don't understand this company.
Does anybody recall what the nameplate output of the "8.0" unit is? I think it is a 3.5 kw, can't remember, and why is it called an 8.0???
Mferraro
How on earth could I have forgotten Booze! I must be slipping.
Mferraro
Here is my personal perspective, a wind turbine company that needs a solar assisted partner "anything" to deliver its energy at "peak hours" + batteries, it is a stretch of truth. If your turbine is so under-performing from the founders claim then-you must add solar panels to it to stay alive; you are a victim of the guy who sold it to you, investor or willing customer, or battery clown.
I recall the original video, Brock eyeball-in the camera, the sneering Brock with wisdom's eye, I broke the Betz Limit...of course that video was scrapped,...along with him, when you scrap such things it tends to make scrap of other claims in time. Consider this....The B's of WNDT
Brock, Bragging, Battery, Brock Blades, Break Betz, Bonehead, Better, Battery, Bankruptcy, Bullshit Blowing ...Bologna ahhh I won't mention the others. I will leave that to you guys.
IMO
Mferraro
Thanks for the report, frankly this testing facility is simply a bunch of idiots. These people that work there are boneheaded idiots I can tell you from experience. They may be recording data of sorts, but they don't actually have a staff of qualified people there for the things they test. Good report or bad report, I wouldn't trust them to test a skateboard.
Mferraro
Without reading the report and just the posts for now, I will reaffirm all my past posts and multiply X2.
merle fyi- on the military "contract" the military is not going to order any units that take more energy to ship and drag around the world than it produces, especially a 1kw intermittent power unit. It takes more diesel fuel to drag the thing around than if you put the fuel in a generator.
Mferraro
No the SEC will investigate all the other six pinkie scams Welch is running but they will leave ENCS alone. Sure, sounds good. I heard they just don't investigate stocks that start with an E, ya sounds good. I'll just run with that.
MFerraro
Ya know it amazes me that WNDT is adding other technologies to the tamer to make it more viable. Batteries, solar, the hydrogen crap that knownothing was selling us...all the while the product Brock touted as the miracle turbine is still just morphing into a pig with lipstick.... the costs of this design is not affordable for the clients...nor does the ducted element create so much energy that it even justisfies making it. Smarter people have already done this in the past...
MFerraro
I think he has fallen and can't get up...this happens sometimes in the late afternoon to our dear friend wakl. He will rise again in the am, around 10:30 or so, unlike this stock.
MFerraro
It was dead 17,714 posts ago. Was a fake from the beginning.
I'm looking forward to visiting Welch in prison.
Mferraro
Thanks, why isn't it on the other boards???Maybe their IBOX is no longer..
MFerraro
SEC can unravel KKUR and all the other most recent ones, how long will it take them to get ENCS and MODC unwound? LOL They will be punching the Welch overtime clock over there.
How many symbols was Welch scamming in total besides KKUR? Anybody have a recent inventory??????
MFerraro
Anybody know where the setting is or button to see the IBOX/ Can't see it on any stocks anymore. Thankx
Mferraro
Pink Sheets and Orange Jumpsuit for Welchie, I think I had mentioned this once upon a time.
Now they have ENCS and MODC as well....he will run from Bahamas, no way will he just sit there and wait for the feds.
MFerraro
Welch is in deep doodoo. Wheels of justice turn slowly, but they finally rolled up on his front door. Would this be an opportune time to say "I told you so"....sounds fitting to me.
MFerraro
For those of us who were around back then, here is a reminder of the nonsense created by Brock. You will learn he is still doing his one minute measurements as Knowhow the know-all stated.
This article sums up the crap and hype from Brock's "past reports" of deception.
While Knowhow is spouting off about Brock's undocumented "new achievements" he blames WNDT for selling units after Brock was booted out the door. As if Brock had no role or responsibility for the creation of the company based on his claims.
Frankly the battery guys were floored when they finally learned the performance claims where actually half. I am surprised they didn't file suit. Make your own judgements. Who else could you lure into a company other than people with no wind experience, everyone else in the small wind industry knew it was bs.
http://www.wind-works.org/SmallTurbines/WindtamerHypeNeedsTrimmed.html
MFerraro
imo
Why do I have this feeling I am talking with a teenager? The units you are talking about that WNDT installed are all Brocks designs. What is your point? They are all under-performing past Betz limit breakers aren't they? Is it sinking in yet? If anyone is going to "school" me on this board I can assure you, you are not a candidate.
Go start your own Brock Board and take your pompoms with you. Don't forget to take your Brock's Blades and Hydrogen storage crap.
This is the WNDT Board, ya know; we the people who are left dealing with Brock's original betz limit breaking boat anchor.
We are all happy to learn from you Brock is using a meter this time around, how clever. Thanks for the insight, brilliant!
MFerraro
I agree with you all, Ten4, Wakl, xbubblesy, Skeptic etc...Knowhow is probably Brock if you ask me. Loathing on "what they know over there" while we were all told this crap in the past in the first place. Brock breaks the betz limit and we invested and then we find out it is bs, so they throw him out and what is the first thing he does? Break the betz limit again. This is a joke.
The WNDT PR pretty much gives us all the insight to see what is really going on there. That is pathetic, maybe next month they will announce they joined a book club. I hope they do, they need to send the first book to knowhow, titled Betz Limit for Dummies.
Mferraro
Bring it on! When are these "reports" coming out? And who is the author? And why are you cheerleading reports on here before they are written and published? We have all been lied to in the past, so PROVE IT otherwise it remains a sour topic around here, and a small wind industry joke.
Mferraro
Knowhow, are for real? Look at Brock's track record and please show all of us PROOF this time. We have all been bs'd before about this. Stop cheerleading nonsense and show us PROOF. We already know Brock doesn't know how to measure power output from his original snake oil PR's. There is a limit to how many times you can claim breaking the Betz limit.
Mferraro
"Brock is consistently breaking Betz Limit, Mferraro your finally grasping the whole picture. We feel really bad out here knowing the truth and posters to this board like you try and try again to diminish something great. We feel the naysayers are just disgruntled people and don't like anybody or anything positive, Mferraro try posting something positive, if it hurts or you get sick we will pay the doctor bill. The truth shall set you free"
Your welcome, sweetwop. I am just getting tired of this Brock "knows best" crap on this board.
Mferraro
Man Brock keeps breaking these Betz limit things, I hope they are not too expensive. Thats like the second or third one he has broken in a year.
Mferraro
Sorry I lost you guys when you diverted to hydrogen...this is about a wind turbine that could not perform on its own, making hydrogen with a Wind Tamer is on another board ...but very funny I must admit...I'm sure Mr Brock will appreciate you referencing his name so many times...He deserves it..keep it going. HHO WT!
Mferraro HHOWT
Hey guys, been outta the loop for awhile. Interesting battery conversations being passed around I see. I would suggest there is nothing new to the process of storing energy in a battery for use at peak time or any other time. Its not new to small wind systems at all. Solar systems have been designed this way from inception in fact.
What I don't see in these discussions is this: You store excess energy that you are not using, that which is above your consumption. To store energy only to use it when rates are at peak periods is not all what it seems, because you are never going to get 100% of your consumption at those times from a battery anyway. The WT doesn't morph into a sole energy provider during peak demand. You are not going to draw down 100% of your power during peak demand. Not for long, if ever. Batteries are supplemental.
First off, if the Tamer guys have no choice to improve the perfomance other than to use the energy during peak hours only, that is a big problem. The batteries don't discharge to zero, they maintain at least 25% capacity. So at 75% available, then the inherent losses from dc-ac conversion of another 10% or more. You are only recharging with an underforming unit, it is not going to recharge faster at peak than it does off peak. There is no measurable energy to save in the first instance. Mferrao
The unsustainable issues remain. The "anticipated" sales pipeline means nothing. The single sale to the military has 6 more months of testing...the company should not be taking any compensation with the results of thier failed efforts from 2010. Of course I have mentioned this all before, year end recap I guess.
Best wishes to all of you, I hope everyone has a Healthy and Prosperous 2011.
Cheers
MFerraro
Keep in mind, the "improved performance" as it is supposed to be called has never been made available to the stock(bag) holders, that is bs along with the fact WNDT's are priced out of the market they are in. Sooooo...this company is going no place good any time soon.
Brock bs'd the battery guys, they went out on a "greed" limb, and now still have nothing of substance and an over priced under performing wind turbine. They have nothing of monetary value that I can see to recoup-recover and grow the co with.
This star has already seen its brightest moments. Just my 2 cents.
Mferraro
Testing and certifications are requirements for the clients to receive the tax credits. IMO I think this has all been done backwards, the testing should have been done first, before the selling of any units. I don't believe WT is in testing because they wish to be in it. This could be a Pandora's box deal.
It has been proven time and time again the design/rotor config is nothing extraordinary in performance, just more expensive to manufacture.
I have said all along the cash burn rate is not sustainable, changes must be made, otherwise the business as usual in its current platform is simply not feasible.
The testing period is likely a four seasons thing. I am not sure, if it is a real world test or a wind tunnel type test.
Mferraro
