GO FED GO!!!!!!! eom
huh?....corporate america wanted the bail out. i'm an independent entreprenuer. i never needed a bailout and i don't borrow money (cause you have to pay it back) and i hope to turn a profit. bit old fashioned i guess. been doing it all wrong it appears.
my next life, bk will be part of my game plan and i'll hock to the hilt to borrow whatever i can. surely somebody will bail me out! and if they don't, i'll just start over and do it all again. what the hell. and sure as hell if i do it, they'll change all the bk rules (the same way they did with the ban on shorting....like playing poker where you win with a royal flush and are told those are no longer honored at the table...or at least not until oct 2nd...no wait...today is oct 3rd...did i miss something here?).
furthermore, i love being an entreprenuer. my business is just fine. i do what i have to do. my employees don't have 401k's (therefore i don't have to hear any griping about those becoming 101k's), nor can i afford to pay their insurance. my draws are meager (never know what's coming down the pike and i don't have a retirment package). somebody gimme a loan. better yet, somebody take me public. i'll use that money to buy the finest top dollar real estate at the highest possible prices on the planet. if i fail, i'll convert my snow cone stand to a bank so i can get to that discount window where there is plenty of money (compliments of the three stooges....paulson, bernanke, and bush)
well, gotta go. gonna have to hussle. wall street is gonna have new money to loan corporate america to kick my arse some more (i have to compete against these guys you know). this time though, i'm paying for it and so are you (there's
nothing like paying for the arse whipping your getting....priceless). part of 700 bil. i'm proud to be an american!

ps....i'm thinking about filing suit against my alma mater. those econoCOMIC text books contained the words "free enterprise." wonder if i can recover those monies spent for that entire charade plus interest. hmmm.
"Goldilox" is smiling as she counts her windfall after splitting part of the loot with the likes of "kudlow" (yes...he got a cut for deceiving the sheep with his continuous "soft landing" theory while the dow was printing new record highs). in the meantime, the three bears are disgruntled (to say the least), and she has threatened to extend both the archery & rifle seasons (through the second week of november 2008). furthermore, there have been rumors circulating regarding an increase of the daily bag limit (with more "repos" and ppt appearances). needless to say, the bears are starting to behave after the last few unruly weeks. she (Goldilox) continues to insist that this is no "fairy tale" at all. all is well and proceeding as planned. lol.

ot<<I thought we were going to keep that deal between ourselves>>
don't worry about it. we've been doing this kind of stuff for years. no sweat. the street hasn't caught on yet!
<<I can get pick up that extra Director seat in MaineHiker and I's merger so I can control the board>>
screw mainehiker. we've got our snow cone stand ("Snow Job" Snow Cones Inc) ready to take public. you could do one time write offs while living off of investor money...and we've got the financials all lipsticked up like a pig oughta look (love this pro forma crap). you could do convertibles immediatly after the ipo. you sure as hell won't need mainehiker and his plants! and since greenJAM is hell bent on supporting his corporate buddies (psst.....they gotta have the tax dollars to pay the deficit), you could probably do a bond issue right away and open several more snow cone stands in the smaller towns where you could run the local entreprenuers out of business. those that you put out of business could add to intial claims (or hell...they could move to china if they really wanted to work). then you could raise your prices opec style and in the meantime be paying yourself a huge salary... and offer stock options to your loyal employees (illegal aliens). it would be a perfect match with the already existing hardware store (as during the summer months....people shopping for hardware would come directly to your joint and get a snow cone too...or you could offer a free snow cone with every sale over 50.00 (you can't eat a plant). and if things went totally astray, you could just file bk 11 and keep the investor money (thats provided by the huge salary). who needs mainehiker? you could do this whole gig yourself and save all the trouble of trying to get the price of your shares up. and besides, biotech sux (that crap can seriously impair a customer, and a lost customer means less revenue). let me know if you're interested (it's yours for 750 mil). i'm sure we could get some some favorable anal comments from our friend Cheatum after yesterdays romp!
tex
<<4:36am 03/29/05 [JOES] JOES HARDWARE CUT>>
yep...yuk yuk...everything worked out just as planned. our firm owned 40 million shares and we wanted to acquire another 15 mil....so we employed "Cheatum" (wife's half brother) to provide a little anal stimulation to the southside (downgrade). worked great....the stock was down 20% in premarket, and then we dumped 750k shares on the open just to scare the hell out of everybody! next, we hooked it up to our 100 share "sell" program and the rest is history! by the end of the day we were accumulating shares at 40% off. and then.....all of our institutional buddies started covering their shorts right on time (we'd set the time the previous morning at the coffee shop), and needless to say...we had 1.5 mil shares in the green by market close (which offset the the 750 k we dumped on the open). everybody was happy including Cheatum!. and the ceo...he was grinnin from ear to ear...he was really a nice fellow....and his wife...wow...what a knockout! we'll need to get that camera installed in the bathroom of the gulfstream we gave them to use (that was part of the deal) before they call to leave on that european vacation. ahhh....what a country! it was a helluva day! lol.
tex
HEY HEY....not so fast....you're supposed to do that the day after we buy it!
tex
that's the correct storm track for gilbert....i'm not aware of any storm that made it to the pacific and jumped back over to the gulf.
this storm went in to san fernando, tamps, mexico and hit monterrey. somehow, animals got out of the zoo and one of the elephants drowned in the river if i recall correctly.
this is also the storm where i caught the feed of a broadcast on my satellite dish after i'd just been there. the reporter appeared to be some where else, but the backdrop was my home town. the irony of the situation was that the wind wasn't blowing. the reporter must have been standing in front of a fan. i never trusted that station again. it's all about showbiz you know!
tex
<<its moving towards Texas.>> ya'll keep that crap over on your side of the lake will ya?
say it ain't so....punta gorda again?
reminds me of a little town down here in south texas called indianola. it was a busy little port circa late
1800's....until they got there second storm in a span of about two years. that was all she wrote...all
the inhabitants left and it became a ghost town (what was left of it).
being a hurricane veteran myself (yes, i've done the ice lines and no electricity for three weeks), one can be only heart sickened by that forecast. let's hope they are wrong this time. once you've been in a good one, the perfect storm will always be in the back of your mind (ie category 4 with a 20' + tidal surge). it makes you wonder why we live on the coast (the older you get, the harder it is to go through the preparation scenario...and the madder you get if it's a false alarm). if i lived in florida, after seeing what we saw with the evacuation for frances, i'd probably think about
splitting ahead of time (hell there's no need to board up....everybody should already be boarded up from the last
one). it's just not worth it if you've seen what i've seen (or better yet.....what the real old timers have seen and
conveyed when they were still around). the tidal surge is the killer. let's pray this one won't be the perfect storm.
it could certainly change the price of barrier island real estate.
tex
btw, my experience is with beulah, carla, and celia. lucky for us, celia didn't have a mammoth tidal surge, but the last
standing wind gauge broke at 161. and carla...it was another gem...sat stationary for three days...we had sustained 80 mph winds for three solid days although it missed us...hit a fishing community called port o'connor 80 miles away....in the aftermath, all that was left were slabs where buildings once stood. beulah...it was a rainer....20+ inches in some areas...big storm...130 mile miss. but, the 1919 storm (wasn't here yet for that one) was described to me as having a 20' tidal wave by the old timers.... that's right...not a surge...a wave. it took weeks to round up the dead as some were found up to 15 miles away from where they were last seen. they told about people they knew (survivors) that had clung to floating rooftops and drifted miles in the height of the storm.
during our last scare (Brett), i loaded up the wife and kids and split at the last minute with the travel trailer and the generator. my wife said to me "why are we taking the trailer?" i told her she would appreciate that trailer and the a/c if the storm was as bad as they were saying. luckily, the storm wasn't bad. on the way back into town, i told my kids that this storm (brett) wasn't bad at all. they asked "how do you know?" i said it's simple....all of the telephone poles are not listing 30 to45 degrees in various directions (directions change depending on which side of the eye they're on) and the leaves are still on the trees. they looked at me in total amazement. they thought i was crazy.
zztops.....your friends are right....do not use the generator from the garage. just buried a friends husband over this one about six weeks ago. the guy thought it was a safe play and wanted to sleep in the airconditioning. he lost his life and everybody else survived only to be poisoned. not a pretty picture 30 days downrange for the survivors.

OT<<Don't you wish your business had the power to set prices illegally and in private meetings like these
outfits do?>>
i just wish i could take my snow cone stand public so i could do one time write offs while i lived off investor money. next, since it would be difficult to borrow money based on my crappy lipsticked pro-forma financials, i could do convertibles at the top or perhaps even a new issue at the top.... courtesy of greenjam (pssst....they have to have the tax dollars to pay the deficit...a broke corporate america is like a turnip...no pun intended). in that fashion, i could probably open several more snow cone stands in smaller towns and put those local ones out of business. those whom i put out of business could head for the unemployment line (hell....they could always move to china if they really wanted to work). THEN, i could raise my prices opec style. in the meantime, i could pay myself a huge salary and offer stock options to the illegal aliens that worked for me. the sole proprietor wouldn't stand a chance. if things got really tough, i could pull a bk11. and if i failed (bk7), who cares...i'd personally have a sack full of money and could easily retire. the only bad part to that story is you'd have to find a new snow cone stand if you wanted a snow cone (provided you were still employed and had the disposable income). now if you were retired, that's a different story. i'd have to thank you for those investment dollars you wasted on my company in your futile attempt to find a return (not to mention thanking ag for flushing you out of those cd's). you probably wouldn't want a snow cone anyway as i would have set the precedence for higher snow cone prices (i would have offerred those illegal aliens a pension plan...not because i needed one). and just think, if i could pull it all off, and all went well, i might be able to use the company jets after i retire as part of my retirement package. i can just picture my "Snow Jobs" snow cone logo on the tails of those sleek birds now. what a proud moment that would be!

CPN lod friday 3.66. HELP!
i've had this ob in at schwab for quite some time at 4.28 for CPN. in reviewing PnF charts today, i notice that cpn took a cliff dive friday to 3.66, but neither streetsmart pro or velocity reflect that lod. yahoo reflects that low as well as stockcharts.com. can somebody give me a url that would relfect a daily with a one minute interval showing those minutes which the stock traded below 4.28. schwab is showing the lod at 4.44. thanks

<<<So why are QLGC and COCO so weak>>>
i'm not watching coco, but here is my contribution regarding qlgc
1. uhhhh....because i had a position in qlgc....lol
2. ahhhhh.....could it be "da boyz" would like it to rest at support for a while in order to re-load? the takedown was somewhat vicious on a positive 20 + compx day ( thus by no means indicating a run for the exits). digging around for news (that makes sense) has been futile.
commentary:
ummmm... according to olson's PnF, todays activity formed a triple bottom break (a sell signal). however, that break sits on top of a secondary bullish support line with the primary bullish support line at 43. the 43.00 price would also make a double bottom break (in addition to todays triple bottom break). with that being said, the stock price is sitting on strong support between here and 43.00. with the exuberance that has been displayed in this market, qlgc could easily snort it's way back north when you least expect it.. a break of the 43.00 price would signal a broken stock. imo, the stock should base and grind around at this level (ie. rangebound between 43.00 and 47) before moving north on news (bad news seems to work best). no position here, will look for further decline towards 43.00 area before establishing another day / swing trade position. in the meantime, i think this stock will continue to underperform the compx. my thanks to jerry for introducing me to PnF....he saved me money today!
tex
fwiw: elx and emc didn't fair to well today either, considering it was a ramp day.
