Dr.F of AMAZING Summaries...
Thank you VERY much for that summary! Well done! You should consider 'pinning' your summary for others to peruse.
Thanks again!
Dr. F of Omniscience...
Is there any chance that you could summarize recent events for those here that have been out of the scene for a while? I really have no idea what's going on as I've been away for a while. Most of what is being discussed here is Greek to me and I'm sure to others too. Would appreciate a brief summary...
Thanks!

What do you think about short term/Long term implications for the Class Action lawsuits pending against Direxion FAZ? When I took at position in this turd, I didn't know the risks about holding it long term. So now I'm really in for the duration...as long as the ticker exists. I'm concerned about the CA suits against Direxion. The only hope I have of recovering my money in the near term is for the Israeli's to attack Iran. This would cause a massive flight to safety in the dollar and tank the markets. Not entirely sure of the implication for the banks that FAZ is shorting. Most banks are still highly leveraged (25:1 or higher) and are still lying about the assets that they hold. Accounting rule changes being considered would force Mark-to-Market on the banks. These rule changes would prove that many banks are actually insolvent and that they are lying about the toxic assets that they are still holding. With Commercial RE tanking, I don't see good things on the horizon for the banking system AND the market.
By the by...I agree with you that the markets are very good at spinning news, even when the news is negative. Cracks me up how negative news can be spun when it's less negative than they were expecting. Love that one.

The reason for the pop?
I'm starting to think that the reason for the dramatic price increase this week is something that we don't know about. When Obama declared an H1N1 emergency, I was thinking, "okay, for them to take a dramatic step like this, what are they not telling us?" For the Feds to declare an H1N1 emergency, I'm certain that something really bad is happening or is about to happen. And it's this 'something' that is either related or unrelated to NNVC that has leaked. Looks like the fit is really going to hit the shan. Soon.
Ukraine Orders Mobile Military Hospitals for H1N1 Caseload
Recombinomics Commentary 18:52
October 30, 2009
"Ukrainian President Viktor Yushchenko ordered the Defense Ministry to prepare a mobile military hospitals. According to an UNIAN correspondent, he told reporters. V. Yushchenko said that today should provide the necessary number of places for patients. The president said the Defense Ministry order for the deployment of mobile mobile hospitals, which will be raised if necessary. Ukrainian President Viktor Yushchenko has said that drugs to combat pandemic influenza A/H1N1 long enough, but he would ask the world community, if the need arises for additional resources."
The above comments describe additional preparations for handling the growing number of hospitalized patients in the Ukraine (see map). Local television and radio reports describe a doubling of reported cases (from 37,923 to over 80,000) in a 24 hour period, potentially taxing health care delivery. Some health care workers have also been infected.
Samples have been sent to London for analysis and a permanent link to WHO has been established. The situation appears to be quite fluid and transmission could be exacerbated by the upcoming holiday weekend. Sequence data is eagerly awaited.

WHO Team to Investigate Ukraine H1N1 Outbreaks
Recombinomics Commentary 23:43
October 30, 2009
"Gregory Hartl said the team was being pulled together by the WHO's Global Outbreak Alert and Response Network, which goes by the acronym GOARN. The team will travel early next week to the eastern European country, which has closed schools and banned public meetings in response to a spike in cases of acute respiratory illness believed to be H1N1. "This is something that certainly needs investigating," Hartl said from Geneva. He said the government of Ukraine is being forthcoming with information on the outbreak, which is said to centre on three regions in the western part of the country."
The above comments describe a WHO investigational team being formed in response to the outbreak in Ukraine (see map). Although the story is evolving, some reports describe a dramatic spread of the virus to 80,000 people, with as many as 100 fatalities. The early reports describing 100 fatalities mentioned 10,000 infections, which would create an alarming case fatality rate of 1%. The newer cases would lower the rate, assuming the most recent cases don't follow the pattern described in the first 10,000 cases.
Media reports included descriptions of blood filled lungs, raising visions of the 1918 pandemic, which also involved swine H1N1 that jumped to humans and was efficiently transmitted. Samples have already been sent to London for analysis, and immediate release of initial sequence data would be useful.
Small changes can have dramatic effects when viruses jump species, and the rapid spread of the H1N1 in western Ukraine is clearly cause for concern.

H6N2, The JTR of Viruses...
Co-transmission of H5N1 with Pandemic H1N1 in Egypt? Recombinomics Commentary 18:16
September 2, 2009
"A 35 year-old Italian tourist is one of three people believed to have been infected with A(H1N1) virus, or swine flu, as well as the H5N1 virus, known as avian flu. The patients are recovering in the Egyptian Red Sea resort of Hurghada, said Mohammed Rifai, director general of preventive medicine.
Rifai also spoke of a 28-year-old man who tested positive for both viruses, after arriving at the port of Safaga after a pilgrimage to Saudi Arabia.
"We are waiting the results of the tests that have already been carried out in some patients suspected of having been infected by the H5N1 and the A(H1N1)," said World Health Organisation spokesman Gregory Hartl in an interview with Adnkronos Salute."
The above comments raise concerns of co-infections of pandemic H1N1 and H5N1, as well as human to human co-transmission. This development would create serious pandemic concerns. The ability of the pandemic H1N1 to infected multiple species has been demonstrated by the widespread outbreaks in swine. Outbreaks in Canada have been reported in three provinces (Alberta, Quebec, and Manitoba) as well as two locations in Argentina near Buenos Aires, as well as three locations in Australia, These swine infections demonstrate the ease of transmission from humans to swine, as well as swine to swine. Recent results in Chile also demonstrated transmission to turkeys, raising concerns that H1N1 could be silently transmitting to multiple mammalian and avian species. The jump to avian raised concerns that the H1N1 could interact with H5N1, which is predominantly found in birds, including long range migratory birds. Recent data also demonstrated H5N1 in pikas at Qinghai Lake, which is a mammalian reservoir. Results from Egypt also raised concerns of co-infections because of the large number of mild H5N1 cases and the concentration in children. The heavy concentration in children raised concerns of silent spread of H5N1 in adults, providing opportunities for co-infection, which could lead to the H1N1 "rescuing" H5N1 leading to co-transmissions. The presence of both viruses in multiple individuals identified over a brief time period suggests the viruses are efficiently co-transmitting, which creates serious concerns due to co-infections, or exchanges of genetic information via reassortment or recombination. Mammalian polymorphisms have been noted in prior H5N1 isolates, and pandemic H1N1 has H5N1 polymorphisms, indicating exchanges via recombination have happened previously. However- co-infection and co-transmission would significantly increase the frequency and efficiency of recombination, which would be serious cause for concerns. Confirmation that these three patients have co-infections of H5N1 and H1N1 (or swine and seasonal H1N1) would be useful.

Mother Nature always finds a corrective measure for the over-population of any species on the Earth. Every 40 years or so, Influenza becomes that corrective measure. Mother nature uses Asia's animal husbandry practices as a Petry Dish of filth to grow and evolve Influenza into a new and improved pathogen. After a few trillion evolutionary and recombined attempts, she finds one that works really well. Well, Virologists fear that the H5N1/H1N1 combo is "The One." I guess we'll know soon if that combo is The One as it's likely that we already have that hybrid in circulation.

Tamiflu Resistant H274Y gaining a foothold in US...
The Brilliant Dr. Niman. At least he is trying to warn us as the CDC has stopped reporting:
"The CDC had ceased reporting cases in daily or weekly updates. Instead on August 5 they switched to national aggregate numbers for hospitalized and fatal cases. State agencies followed suit. Many even stopped reporting fatal cases, and instead linked to aggregated CDC numberss. This information dearth led to a dramatic reduction in media coverage, leading to the widespread belief that swine flu had largely "disappeared". http://www.recombinomics.com/News/08280902/H1N1_Sticker.html
Hey, I'm certain that it's much more important that we worry about the economy versus the pandemic that is ramping up for the Fall flu season... Spend, spend, spend people! Our banker friends need new yachts and Beemers!
"... the hospitalized patient in northern California raises concerns that a more aggressive evoltionarily fit H1N1 may be circulation. Many locations, including California, have reported a dramatic increase in hospitalized and fatal cases and the rapid appearance of resistance in prophylatic patients raised concerns that the more severe cases involved Tamiflu resistance that had been silently circulating as a minor population that was missed in routine sequence analysis. These isolates represented a variant of pandemic H1N1 sub-clade, and raised concerns that a dominant H274Y positive sub-clade would emerge, as was seen in seasonal H1N1 last season. This concern was also voiced in the US Presidential report on pandemic H1N1 which raised the possibility of the emergence of H274Y via recombination ("Resistance to these agents, especially oseltamivir as a result of mutation or genetic recombination, can be a major factor limiting antiviral effectiveness"). ..."

Tamiflu Resistance in Vietnam Increases Concerns
Recombinomics Commentary 13:11
August 25, 2009
"Experience over 2-3 times the number of days of treatment compared with regular time and had thought at death, two cases can cum A/H1N1 have been heavily doctor Pham Ngoc Thach hospital Savior success.
Previously, patients underwent 12 CTH was immediately treated influenza A/H1N1 ineffective. The VMQ patients still positive for influenza A/H1N1 to 22 days after treatment
However, through the use Ralenza to treatment instead of Tamiflu (flu Ralenza only treatment for severe cases). Latest test results immediately 24/8 that the two patients were negative to H1N1 virus and will discharge in a few days."
The above translation suggests there are multiple cases of Tamiflu resistant H1N1 in Vietnam. Patients treated with Tamiflu failed to respond, even when treated early, but treatment with Relenza produced improvement and elimination of H1N1.
These data follow reports from adjacent Thailand on resistance there, and suggest that resistance is becoming increasingly widespread. The first confirmed case of resistance was in Singapore, where the patient (in May) quickly developed resistance, suggesting H274Y was circulating as a minor population which was not detected in samples collected prior to treatment, but was found in the absence of wild type a few days after the start of treatment.
Similarly, the four confirmed cases in the United States fall into two clusters of two (in immune-compromised patients in Seattle and summer campers in North Carolina), which again suggest resistance is circulating as a minor population which leads to rapid appearance of resistance. Clusters of cases in Texas along the Mexican border have been reported and denied.
Moreover, prophylactic and treatment use of Relenza is appearing at increased frequency in containment recommendations, further supporting the evidence indicating Tamiflu resistance is worldwide and increasing.

Anyone with enough computers and code programmers can manipulate the market up or down. I've been saying for about a year now that there are some shenannigans going on behind the scenes with very low volume BIG up and down days. These days felt like manipulation. I thought that it might have been the government commission whose job it is to intervene into the market when it's threatened. After reading this, I think that I might have been right. With a 'reasonable' gonvernment 'investment' (loss), this shadowy group could move the markets higher simply by manipulating the Dow/Nasdaq/S&P500/Russell stock Bid/Ask prices. As the markets move higher, confidence increases and more suckers, ahem, investers join the party. Markets go up further, more investers join the party. Then Jim Cramer screams about the new Bull market and more suckers, ahem, investors join the party. Ad infinitum. See? Really. Do you see????!!!!!

Suspect Swine H1N1 Toddler Death in NY Raises Concerns
Recombinomics Commentary 17:02
May 19, 2009
A medical examiner will determine if the 16-month-old boy who died shortly after arriving at Elmhurst Hospital in Queens is the second death from swine flu in New York City.
Family members say the boy was turning blue as they rushed him to the hospital.
The above comments on a suspect swine flu fatality in Queens, New York raise additional pandemic concerns. The number of confirmed and suspect cases in Queens has been high (see updated map), leading to more the a dozen school closings, due in part to the high number of students with flu like symptoms, as well as the confirmed swine H1N1 death of an assistant principal.
Yesterday, the suspect toddler developed a fever in the morning, was eating in the afternoon, and was unresponsive by evening, when he was rushed to the hospital and died. The sudden death, coupled with rapid development of cyanosis, are classic symptoms associated with fatal influenza cases in 1918.
In 1918 an H1N1 swine flu recombined with an H1N1 seasonal flu that led to 20-50 million fatalities, as the virus spread world wide and affected approximately 1/3 of the population. That outbreak began as mild disease in the spring and most of the fatalities were associated with outbreaks in the fall of 1918 and 1919. There were multiple waves during the outbreak, raising concerns of a similar scenario in 2009.
An efficiently transmitted swine H1N1 in the human population has not been reported since 1918, Although WHO has not yet raised the pandemic phase from 5 to 6, the sustained transmission in North America, combined with reports of community spread in Europe and Asia leaves little doubt that the 2009 pandemic has begun.
The evolution of the H1N1 is being closely monitored by sequencing labs across the world, and most isolates to date are closely related. However, the presence of avian PB2 raises concerns that the frequency of cases will not decline in the summer in the northern hemisphere, because the avian PB2 is optimal at 41 C, which would lead to efficient transmission in the summer. Moreover, the seasonal flu has the mammalian version of PB2, which has optimal activity at 34 C. However, the swine H1N1 transmitting in the summer hemisphere may acquire E627K, leading to a virus efficiently transmitting in the winter aso.
Similarly, swine H1N1 in the southern hemisphere may acquire H274Y, leading to Tamflu resistance, which could complicate treatment of the more severe cases, which may involve previously healthy young adults. Another H1N1 death (44M) was just reported in St. Louis, MO.
The strong parallels between 1918 and 2009 continue to cause concern.

The conspiracy 'fruitcake' side of my personality is starting to wonder if the powers that be really want to stop it...??? Or if a global pandemic is a part of their larger NWO "solution." The WHO's delaying Level 6 Pandmic alert ensures that H1N1 has been seeded to every country and continent. Even this 'mild' H1N1 virus will potentially kill millions in Africa with HIV weakened immune systems. This will end up much more horrible in the third world countries with little or no access to health care.

World Hypocrisy Organization...
If there was any doubt that money matters more than human lives, here you go.
WHO chief does not raise swine flu alert level
GENEVA (AP) -- The chief of the World Health Organization says she is not raising the world swine flu alert level just yet.
Several countries including Britain, Japan and China had urged the U.N. health agency to change how it decides to raise the alert level.
WHO chief Dr. Margaret Chan says the swine flu epidemic is in "a grace period" with the WHO alert remaining at phase 5 out of a possible six for the last month. She told the WHO annual assembly on Monday that no one can say how long this period will last.
Chan says the danger now is that the swine flu virus could mix with other flu strains and become more dangerous.
THIS IS A BREAKING NEWS UPDATE. Check back soon for further information. AP's earlier story is below.
GENEVA (AP) - Britain, Japan, China and other nations urged the World Health Organization on Monday to change the way it decides to declare a pandemic -- saying the agency must consider how deadly the virus is, not just how fast it is spreading.
The debate arose as WHO began its annual meeting, a five-day event attended by hundreds of health experts from the agency's 193 member nations. Swine flu is expected to dominate this year's conference - and WHO must consider whether it should raise its alert level or tell manufacturers to begin making a specific swine flu vaccine.
WHO's current system focuses on how widespread the disease has become without regard to its severity. Some member nations are anxious to avoid having the agency declare a swine flu pandemic, because the ramifications of that scientific decision could be very costly and politically charged.
"We need to give you and your team more flexibility as to whether we move to phase 6," British Health Secretary Alan Johnson said.
Japan also called for changes in WHO's system, which would move to pandemic if the virus starts to be transmitted among people outside schools, hospitals and other institutions where viruses typically pass quickly.
"It's certainly something we will look at very closely," Dr. Keiji Fukuda, WHO's flu chief, said of the proposal.
So far, the United States was noncommittal on the issue. U.S. Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius told The Associated Press she wanted more information on the proposal before taking a position, but that she was impressed how many countries supported it.
Health experts were examining new swine flu cases in Spain, Britain and especially Japan, where more than 130 people, the vast majority of them teenagers, have been infected, prompting the government to close 2,000 schools and cancel public events. A good number of the new cases were transmitted in-country, infecting people who had not traveled overseas recently.
WHO says transmission rates in countries outside the Americas is the key factor in whether the agency should raise its pandemic alert scale to the highest level. Right now it is at phase 5 - out of a possible 6 - meaning a global outbreak is "imminent."
Dr. Richard Besser, acting director of the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, told the WHO meeting that the outbreak is "not winding down" in the United States and "widespread transmission" continues. He also said the epidemic also was not over in Mexico.
Speaking a day after New York school assistant principal Mitchell Wiener died of swine flu, Besser said the world needed to maintain its vigilance against the virus.
Dr. Margaret Chan, WHO director-general, said scientists were working to provide as much detail about the disease as possible.
"What we need now most of all is information," Chan said. "We must guard against complacency."
But WHO officials did not appear to welcome the concept of a universal severity measure.
"Severity and the broader impact on society is something that we really can't set globally, because of the unique conditions in every community," WHO spokesman Dick Thompson told the AP. "Severity is going to be different in different countries. And within a country, it will be different in different populations."
As of Monday, the swine flu virus has sickened at least 8,829 people in 40 countries, including 76 deaths. Chile on Sunday became the latest country to confirm a case of swine flu.
A pandemic announcement would likely have severe economic consequences: it could trigger expensive trade and travel restrictions like border closures, airport screenings and quarantines, as countries not yet affected struggle to keep the virus out.
Governments may also fear outbreaks of mass panic, social disruption and increased pressures on their health systems. Under public pressure, extraordinary measures such as large-scale pig slaughters like the recent one in Egypt could be taken, whether or not they are scientifically justified.
In one of their first moves Monday, delegates unanimously elected Sri Lanka's Health Minister Nimal Siripala de Silva to preside over the assembly, a largely ceremonial post.
That vote surprised about 200 protesters demonstrating outside the U.N.'s European headquarters against Sri Lanka's assault on ethnic Tamil rebels.
"We are really shocked about this," said Safeena Mohamed Rawfal, claiming de Silva has cared only for majority Sinhalese and ignored the needs of the Tamils in the country's long civil war.
Sometime during the meeting, Chan is expected to reveal experts' recommendations on whether to produce a swine flu vaccine.
U.N. Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon will visit WHO on Tuesday to meet with senior representatives from the vaccine industry. The U.N. declined to name the companies but major vaccine producers include Sanofi-Aventis, GlaxoSmithKline and Baxter International.
The issue of producing a vaccine is sensitive, particularly for southern hemisphere countries where the annual flu season is about to begin. Seasonal flu can claim as many as 500,000 lives a year globally. But to have enough vaccine to confront a pandemic from a new strain such as swine flu, companies would have to switch from producing vaccine for seasonal flu.
WHO estimates up to 2 billion doses of swine flu vaccine could be produced yearly, though the first batches would not be available for four to six months.
Swine flu cases in Japan rose from four on Friday to over 130 on Monday. Most of the new cases involved high school students in the western prefectures of Hyogo and Osaka who had not traveled overseas.
Spain and Britain have the highest numbers of cases in Europe, reporting 103 and 101 cases, respectively.
Taiwan was taking part in the World Health Assembly as an observer with the approval of Beijing, the first time the island has participated in a U.N. meeting since its seat was given to China in 1971.

1,500,000 Cases in US?!!!
Transmission of Swine H1N1 In Japan Signals Phase 6
Recombinomics Commentary 14:46
May 18, 2009
Japan's four earlier suspected swine flu cases came from travelers inbound from North America, but this new bout appears to be wholly domestic. Most of the cases involve teenagers - the first confirmed infected on Saturday were high-school students on a volleyball team - but those sick with the new strain of flu now range from as young as 5 years old to 60. "It circulated silently without anybody thinking of it," says Peter Cordingley, spokesman for the WHO in Manila. "The virus is highly transmittable and signs of it breaking out of a contained area into the greater community must be watched and taken very seriously."
The above comments on community transmission of H1N1 in Japan (see updated map) again indicate that the pandemic is at phase 6. Early definitions of pandemic phases used sustained transmission as the definition of phase 6. However, the new definition used sustained transmission as the definition of phase 4, while phase 5 represent transmission in a region, and phase 6 was transmission worldwide.
Swine H1N1 has been transmitting worldwide for over a month. Testing outside of North America was largely limited to travelers from North America, but H1N1 was seeding prior to the enhance surveillance at airports, and transmission would have been largely undetected.
The levels in the United States (see updated map) are approaching the reported levels in Mexico, and travel from the US would increase seeding. However, these increases would also be prior to enhanced surveillance at airports. However, such testing is destined to fail, because travelers infected within a day or two of travel would not be detected. Similarly, as many as 1/3 of cases have no fever.
Although the CDC estimated that the number of true cases in the US was 100,00, that estimate is likely to be 1-2 orders of magnitude too low. Surveillance in the US detects about 0.1% of true cases, so the 1500 cases in the CDC weekly report would represent 1.5 million cases in the US alone, and this estimate may be low because many cases are mild, and those in regions not reported to have high levels are not tested.
Nationwide, the number of confirmed cases of swine H1N1 (including cases that are influenza A positive and non-typable) is close to the level reported for H3N2 for the entire season. The number of swine H1N1 cases is rapidly increasing, and in week 18 was almost 3 times the level of influenza A (1097 vs 401).
Thus, the widespread transmission in North America (Mexico, US, and Canada) insures worldwide transmission. Community transmission has already been reported in Scotland, and now there is confirmed transmission in Japan, leaving no doubt that the spread in North America has been extended to Europe and Asia.
The raising of the pandemic level to 6 is long overdue.

OT: A fascinating story about the Bilderberg Group and the Markets...
I've heard buzz of this meeting in the past. An interesting conspiracy theory that isn't much of a stretch. If this is true, yikes. Bigtime yikes.
LEAKED AGENDA: BILDERBERG GROUP PLANS ECONOMIC DEPRESSION
Elitists divided on whether to quickly sink economy and replace it with new world order, or set in motion long, agonizing depression.
On the eve of the 2009 Bilderberg Group conference, which is due to be held May 14-17 at the 5 star Nafsika Astir Palace Hotel in Vouliagmeni, Greece, investigative reporter Daniel Estulin has uncovered shocking details of what the elitists plan to do with the economy over the course of the next year.
The Bilderberg Group meeting is an annual confab of around 150 of the world’s most influential powerbrokers in government, industry, banking, media, academia and the military-industrial complex. The secretive group operates under “Chatham House rules,” meaning that no details of what is discussed can ever be leaked to the media, despite editors of the world’s biggest newspapers, the Washington Post, the New York Times and the Financial Times, being present at the meeting.
According to Estulin’s sources, which have been proven highly accurate in the past, Bilderberg is divided on whether to put into motion, “Either a prolonged, agonizing depression that dooms the world to decades of stagnation, decline and poverty … or an intense-but-shorter depression that paves the way for a new sustainable economic world order, with less sovereignty but more efficiency.”
The information takes on added weight when one considers the fact that Estulin’s previous economic forecasts, which were based on leaks from the same sources, have proven deadly accurate. Estulin correctly predicted the housing crash and the 2008 financial meltdown as a result of what his sources inside Bilderberg told him the elite were planning based on what was said at their 2006 meeting in Canada and the 2007 conference in Turkey.
Details of the economic agenda were contained in a pre-meeting booklet being handed out to Bilderberg members. On a more specific note, Estulin warns that Bilderberg are fostering a false picture of economic recovery, suckering investors into ploughing their money back into the stock market again only to later unleash another massive downturn which will create “massive losses and searing financial pain in the months ahead,” according to a Canada Free Press report.
According to Estulin, Bilderberg is assuming that U.S. unemployment figures will reach around 14% by the end of the year, almost doubling the current official figure of 8.1 per cent.
Estulin’s sources also tell him that Bilderberg will again attempt to push for the enactment of the Lisbon Treaty, a key centerpiece of the agenda to fully entrench a federal EU superstate, by forcing the Irish to vote again on the document in September/October despite having rejected it already, along with other European nations, in national referendums.
“One of their concerns is addressing and neutralizing the anti-Lisbon treaty movement called “Libertas” led by Declan Ganley. One of the Bilderberger planned moves is to use a whispering campaign in the US media suggested that Ganley is being funded by arms dealers in the US linked to the US military,” reports CFP.
Daniel Estulin, Jim Tucker, and other sources who have infiltrated Bilderberg meetings in the past have routinely provided information about the Bilderberg agenda that later plays out on the world stage, proving that the organization is not merely a “talking shop” as debunkers claim, but an integral planning forum for the new world order agenda.
Indeed, just last month Belgian viscount and current Bilderberg-chairman Étienne Davignon bragged that Bilderberg helped create the Euro by first introducing the policy agenda for a single currency in the early 1990’s. Bilderberg’s agenda for a European federal superstate and a single currency likely goes back even further. A BBC investigation uncovered documents from the early Bilderberg meetings which confirmed that the European Union was a brainchild of Bilderberg.
In spring 2002, when war hawks in the Bush administration were pushing for a summer invasion of Iraq, Bilderbergers expressed their desire for a delay and the attack was not launched until March the following year.
In 2006, Estulin predicted that the U.S. housing market would be allowed to soar before the bubble was cruelly popped, which is exactly what transpired.
In 2008, Estulin predicted that Bilderberg were creating the conditions for a financial calamity, which is exactly what began a few months later with the collapse of Lehman Brothers.
Bilderberg has routinely flexed its muscles in establishing its role as kingmaker. The organization routinely selects presidential candidates as well as running mates and prime ministers.
Bill Clinton and Tony Blair were both groomed by the secretive organization in the early 1990’s before rising to prominence.
Barack Obama’s running mate Joe Biden was selected by Bilderberg luminary James A. Johnson, and John Kerry’s 2004 running mate John Edwards was also anointed by the group after he gave a glowing speech at the conference in 2004. Bilderberg attendees even broke house rules to applaud Edwards at the end of a speech he gave to the elitists about American politics. The choice of Edwards was shocking to media pundits who had fully expected Dick Gephardt to secure the position. The New York Post even reported that Gephardt had been chosen and “Kerry-Gephardt” stickers were being placed on campaign vehicles before being removed when Edwards was announced as Kerry’s number two.
A 2008 Portuguese newspaper report highlighted the fact that Pedro Santana Lopes and Jose Socrates attended the 2004 meeting in Stresa, Italy before both going on to become Prime Minster of Portugal.
Several key geopolitical decisions were made at last year’s Bilderberg meeting in Washington DC, again emphasizing the fact that the confab is far more than an informal get-together.
As we reported at the time, Bilderberg were concerned that the price of oil was accelerating too fast after it hit $150 a barrel and wanted to ensure that “oil prices would probably begin to decline”. This is exactly what happened in the latter half of 2008 as oil again sunk below $50 a barrel. We were initially able to predict the rapid rise in oil prices in 2005 when oil was at $40, because Bilderberg had called for prices to rise during that year’s meeting in Munich. During the conference in Germany, Henry Kissinger told his fellow attendees that the elite had resolved to ensure that oil prices would double over the course of the next 12-24 months, which is exactly what happened.
Also at last year’s meeting, former U.S. Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice formalized plans to sign a treaty on installing a U.S. radar base in the Czech Republic with Czech Foreign Minister Karel Schwarzenberg.
Rice was joined at the meeting by Defense Secretary Robert Gates, who reportedly encouraged EU globalists to get behind an attack on Iran. Low and behold, days later the EU threatened Iran with sanctions if it did not suspend its nuclear enrichment program.
There was also widespread speculation that Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama’s “secret meeting,” which was accomplished with the aid of cloak and dagger tactics like locking journalists on an airplane to keep them from tracking the two down, took place at the Bilderberg meeting in DC.
It remains to be seen what kind of mainstream media press coverage Bilderberg 2009 will be afforded because, despite the proven track record of Bilderberg having a central role in influencing subsequent geopolitical and financial world events, and despite last year’s meeting being held in Washington DC,the U.S. corporate media oversaw an almost universal blackout of reporting on the conference, its attendees, and what was discussed.
Once again, it will be left to the alternative media to fill the vacuum and educate the people on exactly what the globalists have planned for us over the coming year.

A swine flu pandemic will infect up to 60 million jobs
By Mark Leftly in Florianopolis, Brazil
Sunday, 17 May 2009
Up to 60 million tourism jobs could be lost worldwide if swine flu turns into a global pandemic, according to the World Travel & Tourism Council (WTTC).
Oxford Economics and WTTC, the body that represents travel industry chief executives and is holding its annual conference in Brazil this weekend, is conducting research on the back of the avian and swine flu scares.
WTTC economist Amir Girgis said: "In a worst case scenario, the figures show that the magnitude of a [tourism] downturn could be 25 to 30 per cent as a result of a pandemic. That's not H1N1 [swine flu] as it is now, but if it got much worse then it could cost 50 to 60 million jobs."
Speaking at an emergency session of the conference on Friday, Oxford Economics chairman John Walker suggested that a fall in travellers could put a $620bn (£410bn)dent in the world tourism economy. Mr Walker added that this was based on the assumption that a second, more violent wave of swine flu emerges in the fourth quarter of this year. The Spanish flu of 1918-19 struck in two stages. He said: "People are going to stop spending out of fear, there is no getting away from that. We can assume that discretionary spending will fall by 30 per cent."
Sebastian Escarrer, the vice-chairman at Spanish hotelier Sol Melia, admitted that the company had been forced to close two of its 11 hotels in Mexico, where the swine flu scare originated. A second Mexican operator said that occupancy rates were just 5 per cent.
But, industry leaders played down the potential impact of H1N1. WTTC chairman Geoffrey Kent told delegates that economic problems and pandemic scares would ease in the long-term. "Don't worry about the credit crunch. It will go away. Don't be discouraged by world events. They'll sort themselves out. They always do. Don't be discouraged by swine flu. It's all overblown anyway," he said.

CDC: 100,000+ in U.S. Have Flu...

CDC: 100,000+ in U.S. Have Flu, Half Have Swine Flu
As Swine Flu Spreads, Flu Cases 'Widespread' or 'Regional' in 22 States
By Daniel J. DeNoon
WebMD Health NewsReviewed by Louise Chang, MDMay 15, 2009 -- More than 100,000 Americans probably have the flu -- and at least half of these cases are H1N1 swine flu, a CDC expert estimates.
The comment came from Daniel Jernigan, MD, PhD, deputy director of the CDC's influenza division, during a news conference.
Jernigan noted that the 4,700 confirmed or probable cases of swine flu reported to CDC represent a gross underestimate. When asked how many actual cases there were, Jernigan noted that 7% to 10% of the U.S. population -- up to 30 million people -- get the seasonal flu each year.
"So with the amount of activity we are seeing now, it is a little hard to know what that means in terms of making an estimate now of the total number of people with flu out in the community," Jernigan said. "But if I had to make an estimate, I would say ... probably upwards of maybe 100,000."
The CDC's most recent data, for the week ending May 9, shows that about half of Americans with confirmed flu had the H1N1 swine flu. If Jernigan's off-the-cuff estimate is correct, more than 50,000 people in the U.S. have the new flu.
At a time when flu season should be ending or over, the CDC's flu season indicators are going up instead of down. As of May 9, 22 states had widespread or regional flu.
Meanwhile, Arizona's Maricopa County -- home to Phoenix -- reported that a woman in her late 40s died from complications of the H1N1 swine flu. She is the nation's fourth H1N1 swine flu fatality. The woman had an underlying lung disease, according to the Maricopa County public health department.
Despite the death, the CDC's marker for flu severity -- deaths from pneumonia or flu -- did not increase beyond normal levels for this time of year. This so-called "epidemic threshold" is 7.4% of all deaths; for the week ending May 9, flu/pneumonia deaths were 7.2% of all deaths.
One of the most alarming signs of a flu pandemic is a lot of severe illness in people who don't usually suffer severe flu cases -- older children and young adults.
Most of the 173 people hospitalized in the U.S. with H1N1 swine flu have been between 5-24 years old.
"At this point, we're not seeing the seriousness of illness in the United States that was initially reported in Mexico, but this certainly does not mean that the outbreak is over," Jernigan said. "The H1N1 virus is not going away. We know that the outbreak is not localized but is spreading and appears to be expanding throughout the United States.

Swine flu will probably spread to new regions: WHO
Agence France-PresseMay 15, 2009 7:01 AM
GENEVA - The World Health Organization said Friday research suggests the A(H1N1) swine flu virus is so contagious it will probably spread to new, so far unaffected, regions.
Acting WHO Assistant Director-General Keiji Fukuda said studies by experts indicate a "significant number of people" had been infected but remained undetected or unconfirmed by laboratory tests.
"Their work also suggests that the virus is transmissible enough that we will expect to see continued community level outbreaks and regional spread," he told a WHO meeting in Geneva on pandemic preparedness.
"It is still reasonable to expect that at this pace, we have a long-term activity going on . . . . There will probably be periods of intense activity," said Fukuda.
WHO Director-General Margaret Chan noted the virus had "quickly demonstrated its capacity to spread easily from one person to another, to spread widely within an affected country and to spread rapidly to additional countries."
"We expect this pattern of international spread to continue," she said.
"This is a time of great uncertainty, and great pressure on governments, ministries of health and WHO," she added.
Latest WHO data showed 7,520 people in 34 countries were confirmed to have caught the influenza A(H1N1) virus, 1,000 more than a day ago. Some 65 people have died in the outbreak.
North America continues to report the largest caseload, with the United States indicating that confirmed infections reached 4,298 including three deaths.
Mexico reported 2,446 cases including 60 deaths, while Canada recorded 449 cases including one death.
Fukuda said the behaviour of the virus would also change depending on "whether it is winter period in one part of the world or another."
The virus had "a very different pattern" from normal, seasonal flu with half of those dying being young and otherwise healthy adults, he said, adding that there were "great unknowns" associated with the virus.
"Right now we don't know what the future will bring," Fukuda said.
The two-day WHO meeting, which began Friday, was scheduled long before the outbreak of swine flu was uncovered in Mexico, to discuss influenza vaccines and iron out a long running dispute over the sharing of bird flu virus samples.
The meeting precedes the World Health Assembly, the annual gathering of all WHO member states which starts next Monday.

Swine H1N1 Cases Explode in Queens New York
Recombinomics Commentary 12:57
May 15, 2009
"The assistant principal works at Intermediate School 238, in the Hollis section of Queens, and was said to have become critically ill. Neighbors and school officials identified the man as Mitchell Wiener, who is in his mid-50s and has worked for the school system for about three decades.
Swine flu has been documented in four other students at I.S. 238, at 88-15 182nd Street, and more than 50 students with flu-like symptoms have been sent home from the school since May 6, the mayor said.
Three public schools in Queens - the middle school where the assistant principal worked, as well as Intermediate School 5 in Elmhurst and Public School 16 in Corona - are being closed, effective Friday, because of the outbreak, officials said. The three schools together enroll some 4,500 students.
At I.S. 5, at 50-40 Jacobus Street, 241 students were absent from classes on Thursday. And at P.S. 16, 41-15 104th Street, 29 students reported flu-like symptoms at the nurse's office on Thursday."
The above comments describe a serious swine H1N1 outbreak in Queens. This outbreak follows an earlier outbreak in Flushing (see updated map), that was linked to students returning from a trip to Mexico. However, officials had recently offered assurances on the containment of that outbreak.
The assurances had no basis in fact. An AP report had suggested that as many as 1000 New Yorkers were infected, and the above numbers leave little doubt that the number of cases in orders or magnitude higher.
Most cases are mild and are unreported. In other cases, doctors offer assurances that the influenza A is seasonal flu, even though the recent CDC reported demonstrated that swine H1N1 has outpaced seasonal flu, and the distance been swine and human flu is likely to increase in the northern hemisphere as the seasonal flu season winds down.
The swine H1N1 has an avian PB2, which favors growth at high temperatures (41 C), which will offer a distinct advantage over the summer. As seen in the above numbers, the virus spreads easily, especially among students.
The number of cases in the US has already overwhelmed the CDC, who has hand-off confirmations to the states, but the shortage of testing kits has limited confirmatory testing. In the past, states were reporting probable cases (influenza A positive, but seasonal flu negative), but now many states have limited testing to more severe cases.
Thus, the mild nature of most cases, coupled with limited testing, has produced gross under-estimates of the extent of the spread.
As the number of cases rise, the number of severe cases also increases. There have been four deaths in the United States, and the number of hospitalized cases continues to rise.

Their day will arrive soon...
No place will be untouched. No state. No country. No continent. Even in the 1918 pandemic, remote islands and eskimo villiages were eventually touched by the virus. Many of these villiages had very high rates of fatalities. And this H1N1 virus has a long period where you are asymptomatic and still shedding virus at the same time. So it will be everywhere eventually. The Chinese think that they are going to stop it. haha! Please. They may slow it down. But they won't evade it. And then H1N1 will meet H5N1 and swap genetics. And then the REAL fun starts. High transmissability with high case fatality rate.
happy stuff.

WHO: Nothing to see here...move along...
And the lie goes on. The WHO has still not moved the world to Pandemic Level 6 even though H1N1 is spreading in US, Mexico, Canada, Spain and England. Multiple countries. Multiple continents. THAT is the freaking definition of Level 6!!!! So the WHO is still more worried about economic concerns over human lives. Pisses me off bigtime!!!
In reality, the real H1N1 infection numbers are much, much greater than the 'official' numbers listed here in this chart as testing fatigue has set in. Many states/countries have admittedly stopped testing and now only test the very sick that show up at the hospitals. New York's numbers (224) are total BS. Their numbers are easily ten times the number listed.
So far, only approx 10% become sick enough to seek hospitalization. So do the math. If these numbers are 10% of the total infected population. The reality is 100,000+++!!!!! Eeeks.
Sorry for the HUGE chart. Dunno how to downsize it.

More hospital staff get swine flu. Workers at hospitals urged to be 'extra vigilant' to prevent spread to patients, other employees
May 12, 2009 04:30 AM
Theresa Boyle
HEALTH REPORTER
Staff at the University Health Network are being urged to be extra vigilant about infection control after three more employees tested positive for swine flu.
Health network spokesperson Gillian Howard confirmed last night that there are now four workers who have tested positive for the H1N1 virus, including one case reported last week. One of the employees has had patient contact.
Three of the infected staffers work at Princess Margaret Hospital, which specializes in cancer care. Howard would not reveal at which campus the fourth staffer works. The health network also comprises Toronto General Hospital and Toronto Western Hospital.
A bulletin to staff was to be posted on the UHN's website last night, asking staff to take care not to spread any bugs.
"I am asking all members of the PMH team and all patients at PMH to be extra vigilant with regard to flu symptoms," UHN president Robert Bell states in an advance copy of the bulletin obtained by the Star.
Two infected Princess Margaret employees caught the bug from a colleague, whose case was made public last week. That employee, plus one of the newly infected employees, is believed to have caught the virus in the community, Howard said.
A total of 110 Ontarians have tested positive for H1N1. All cases have been mild, with symptoms no worse than the seasonal flu. No one has required hospitalization.
Howard said she is not aware that any patient has contracted the virus from staff, but she said there is a concern this might happen.
She said UHN patients with cancer or awaiting or having undergone transplants might be more at risk from the flu.
"Our patients are always vulnerable ... I would say that our patients who are immune-compromised are already very alert to the fact they need to be careful," she said.
Howard emphasized patients and visitors should not be afraid to come to UHN.
"This flu could be caught anywhere," she said.
Howard said many employees are being tested for H1N1.
"I would say that we are swabbing many, many more people than we have ever swabbed before. That's because anybody who is presenting with these symptoms is getting swabbed," she explained, adding those being tested could include people merely suffering from allergies or non-swine strains of the flu.
There have been 61 deaths. Canada has reported a total of 330 H1N1 cases.
