Myst-JimBob - Thanks...I've copied the reload address to my card index file...lost alot of "stuff" but everyone has been so helpful. There's really nice people out there...you guys are tops. Got shipped out "again"....back home now...have family visiting from Oklahoma (at least they are going in the right direction...away from the tornados)...will touch base with everyone once things settle down a tad.
HELP!!!!Reload X-DEV....I have been digging around trying to reload X-DEV after my hard drive went down. Need infor on how to reload...and I cannot find my registration number. Thanks Kaye
Can't resist making this comment...Wasn't it just about a month ago Saddam challenged Pres. Bush to a gunfight (dual)? Now he wants a debate? Hummmmmmmmmm:~)
Paul...I expect oil and gas equipment services will do well as "ambuance chasers" (the war)... one I am watching is GIFI.
It is above it 50 and 200 SMA, is performing with or better than the Nazdaq. It cossed over the 50 SMA last October, tested it in late December (successfully), hit it again day before yessterday and seems to be a sucessful retest again. There are other stocks in this area that might be good movers also.
CTMI - a fickle bunch they are !! I want to thank devron, jjde and lou..I had a stop loss...that was my best move!!!!
WHY??? X_DEV'ers.....Would appreciate input on why a stock gaps down at open AFTER positive earnings announcements (beat consensus and positive forward looking)after the close on the precious night. I am refering to CTMI. Got any opinions, advise??? I have to leave for work now, but will check the board at work...Thanks in advance for your rrespected opinions(:~
On the war...last one, WEL hit around $16.00...it at about .50 now. Tney put out well fires...I'm not into Penny Stocks but this one might be worth watching, altho I agree, I would like to see the country remian intact, w/o Saddam.
JIMBOB-
Check your NIPG webmaster e-mail Sent some scans....

JimBob- Be glad to share the TC2000 Scans...Are you refering to the TC2000RT (Real Time) Program?
Myst-Yong-Lou ~ Want to join the others in thanking you for the new X_DEV and the Users Manual. Sterling Job. Looking forward to using X_DEV, and so thankful to Myst, Yong and Lou for making it even better!!!
I did a quick perusal last night and it looks terriffic!!
Unfortunatly, I haven't been able to check it out as our area was hit with hurricane force winds from the pacific storm and everyone spent yesterday trying to help their neighbors and preparing for the next onslaught (which is hitting us now, so not sure how much longer there will be electricity and the winds are getting really bad here, again...I've got my hat "tied" on today!!!
I may not be on-line for long - huge winds, I mean HUGE!!!
My electricity has gone out 3X (APC unit held computer) and an 18 wheeler just rolled over on Highway 95...and my BBQ has gone into the yard somewhere....not looking good to be able to stay online.
ELBO - That gap down is worrisome...especially if the market continues down. I'd pass the X_DEV trigger and go with Mojo 702 Post # 3664

I work 4/10's, starting at 6:30am. Sometimes I can fudge and go in later, but that means I also work later, but on an active market morning, I will stay and monitor the action. I could daytrade on Friday, but usually am trying just to keep a tag on my active trades, (and truthfully, I am sure I don't have good enough experience...yet but maybe someday)...I sure like the swing trading!! And
X_Dev is so p-e-r-f-e-ct for this....can hardly wait ffor the Portfolio Manager feature and the new manual!!!
Thanks...I can't daytrade - I still work the day job!!!!{~:
JimBob - AVAN - I got a buy trigger on @ 1.11...are you still keeping tabs on it?
JimBob...ONTC OPPPPS I always forget to tell you the start date - 08-05-02. Just before the trend change.
JimBob-CMPC
Take a look at CMPC and its 50SMA...it does crash down through it, but has recovered nicely over the past year...I'm staying in.
JimBob - What do you think?
Low Priced-Strong Stock for Kaye's Korner ($500 Pick)
This stock crossed over its 50MA in late August (definite trend change), retested it in late Sept & Oct and now it has continually retested the 50MA, bouncing off, upwards (ie., successful retests?)
If the market pulls back, this may be a good choice on the pullback, as it has shown good strength. Don't know about the "fundamentals"...this is just stricly a chart TA.

Jack Jagernauth - GG Metals & Mining Stocks
Thanks for the GG X_DEV opt. Also take a look at ASI, it just keeps on doing well.
Here is a scan I did for Metals & Mining Stocks and the results:
[1] EPS Percent Change (Latest Year)
0 to Max (this falls into the 40-99 percentile)
[2] Net Profit Margein (Post Tax):
0 to max (this falls into the 33-99 percentile)
[3] Price/Share:
2.15 to max (this falls into the 19-99 percentile)
[4] Price Percent Change - 26 Week:
2.2 to max ( this falls into the 79-99 percentile)
[5] Price Percent Change - 30 day:
8.8 to max ( this falls into the75 to 99 percentile)
[6] Volume 90 Day Average:
98,600 (this falls into the 62 to 99 percentile)
Then I sorted them by Percent Change from Jan. 02,and % Change since Oct 02
Here is the order they fell into:
Jan. 02 Oct. 02
RGLD +337.72% +16.83
HMY +153.93% + 7.41%
GG +108.25% +14.42%
AU +88.52% +27.54%
ASL +53.9% + 7.57%
Hope this provides some useful DD
BBA - Wish I'd seen this one sooner!!!
Just wondering out loud - Since the Metals and Mining Sector is doing well, would some buys in this be a probabiliy?
JimBob--I am expecting further weakness and the probability for further decline. Looks like the 50sma is going to be peirced in the NAZ, and then the November lows will be taken out.??
I don't think the October lows will be challenged, so being a "ever blooming" opimist, I see that as a possible buying opportunity. I don't short stocks, so I guess I'd better "fold em"....
Head & Shoulders on the NAZ???
I saw these stocks as showing alot of strength and coming out of 2 Qtrs or more consolidations...and there is also a possiblity of a Santa Claus Rally, and/or the January Effect (being discussed recently on the board).
I like your "thinking" though, especially after those long bars up, as to short does seem reasonable. However, I don't short stocks and don't have any experience in doing this. It will interesting to see how these stocks play out!!
2 Low-Priced Mining Stocks to Keep on a Watch
HL and PAAS
Both have gone through a consolidation period and have recent strong upturns (along with their sector) and they might be poised to make new highs. Could be good entries on a pullback.
These are 1st rough X_DEV opts just to get a feel for their potential. I think the X_DEV paramenters might need some more tweaking.
The B&H is higher, but considering their possible potential to climb much higher, miight still e good for entry consideration.

Thank you for downtrending stock entry tip...I think it is a good entry "strategy" and I plan to use on my next "downtrending" stock entry.
TIM Reese - Retoration Hardware (gg)
Strikes me funny too..don't have a clue why the name.
Check out post 3628 to JimBob...comments at end on DFIB.
My X_DEV opt shows a buy at 2.07...so might get triggered tommorrow. Being such a bargain basement stock...I am only going with a partial position however...be careful, this one's fundamentals are are fair, and it has shown current strength, but it is much more vunerable than a 20.00 + stock.
JimBob - CMPC sure hit all right, and just like RSTO today, will probably dip even more...I'll buy in in the morning.
Sometimes, on a downtrending market, I'll buy the stock the next morning (following the previous days X_DEV entry trigger)for an even lower price...helps also to get in lower if the market continues down.
Remember, my trading plan is for bargain basement trading.. (gg), digging thru alot of trashy stuff for a few good bargains (gg)...with squeeky funded trading account...
What fun!!!!
The market is being forced to cope with a lot of uncertainty..., but one "mitigating factor" is that it is Oversold...I wouldn't want to short in a situation like this as I feel there is little room for the rubberband to streach further.
I didn't catch DFIB either...but since it is acting bearish, may get a trigger yet. There has been institutional accumulation on all the DFIB dips since last July...that is a good sign, most of the time, [1] assuming the institutions know what they are doings, and [2] there is no way to know their motivations for buying.
JimBob - Thanks for the entry clarification-now lets see this puppy go! Mkt is fading today...do you may get latest X_DEV entry too.
Kaye
Did you have an X_DEV entry trigger on CMPC??? My opt is showing entry at 5.42. (~:
JimBob-RSTO Entry in NIPG (SimVest)
Entry into RSTO today (per my X_DEV opt)
Potential Entries not Triggerd yet: SSRI & IPXL
DFIB is not giving me any Buy Shares Data.
xe2dy - 830 Radio & B-Bands
I can pick up the radio over internet...listening to it live right now (some nutition show-brain nutrients...better concentrate huh!!!). Do not receive AM during the daylight hours here but will check out the audio library for some of M.Ansari past broadcasts.
I really the your X_DEV longer term opt for GFI...I've never tried one for so long a time period with that much of a uptrend and downtrend...and have to say you did great! I've added it to X_DEV folders (with due credit to you), and I guessed I missed that page in the instructions also!!!!
Are you looking for the 10MA and 10B-Band lines to actually cross???
I have been using a similar B-Band set-up on TC2000. I use a 7 Period with 18 Std.Dev. with 9 and 20MA's. I have been looking at books on B-Bands at Amazon...as I find I like using them.
xe2dy GFI
The Gold Index is shinning again!!! I think they were this last weeks strongest stocks, The AUX also having exceeded its November high and its 200 MA!!! I'd say that was bullish along with slippage in the dollar and selling of stocks. Good choice!!
Another strong Au stock is GG....very good fundamentals, good company.
Thanks for the charts and set-up. And Good Fortunes on GIF!
xe2dy - GFI
I keep an X_DEV folder of gold and metal stocks to trade when the market is down..GFI is one. It is showing some current strength. I decide this by watching for the 30MA to cross its own 30MA ((AVG30MA > AVG(AVG30,30)as a signal for a believeable and identifiable trend. This has just occurred. However, I see it as overbot currently. In the current possible fade on the underlying market, I would expect it to retrace and form a X_DEV entry at a later time (end of Dec?).
A "rough" X_DEV opt follows and probably could use some more opts. At these opts it is ~ equal to the B&H.
I choose 7-01/02 as the start because it began a downtrend (late May, then rallied in Sept and has gone into a rolling pattern (great for X_DEV if there is enough volatility)...
The 30,(30,30) is a cue to pay attention, but I thinks it will pullback. Here are my rough out settings:

I like your ideal of a tight stop-loss the first few days. However, if the market bounces too much, I'll tend to take losses based upon how much I am willing to loose and not a volatile day that will stop me out on a tight stop loss. I held onto EMC when it feel over the cliff and was glad I did...made a profit.
Not taking a strong stock completely off the table is good for longer term investing. I am not doing this now...just trading the action to build up my cash for trading.
Good Luck!!!

JimBob-Mistype..it's CMPC
Glad you saw this...if you change the Min.Shares to 50, it gets even better !!!{~:!!
At least there are some fundamentals.
I have two more, but they are uptrending so that I can't get a profit better than B&H..am waiting for pullbacks (volatility of some sort) to X_DEV. Have them in a weekly check list.
If you are interested and want to try an X_DEV opts, they are
NTST and CMPC. Both met the scan described, but are not scanned to cue just the Naz, but could do this also if you seem to like the scan (ie., could tighten it for tech stocks).
MSN,NTST and COMC are in the 33-99 percentile of all stocks. In price % change, they are in the upper 79-99 percentile. Only in price are they ranking low (17-38 percentile, gulp...)
Low Priced Potential Winners (1) May have to wait for X_DEV Pullback Entry
