Why is MR down so much. Anything you can share?
Check out the stable sales numbers over the past 4 years. Compare TLRD to another well known retailer that is usually considered by most people as a much larger company. Burlington Coat Factory

Look at how the market values Burlington vs Tailored Brands. Sure looks like that using the same measure to value a similar retailer as Burlington, one could easily justify a price for Tailored of at least a 3-4 X's multiple from today's current market price.
TLRD has an estimated 50,470,000 shares currently outstanding.
Yet Institutional owners own approximately 102% of the oustanding, meaning that they own more shares than are currently available in the market.
Since August 16th, basically the entire amount of available outstanding shares has traded hands. 50,708,590 share have traded since 8/16/2019.

The last available short data as of August 14th, 2019 shows over 21,720,000 being short or 43% of the outstanding
If institutions own 102% of the outstanding. The past months 13 days or 1 month of training is probably significant additional short activity.
Almost 10% of the outstanding equity traded today.
Seems interesting how that could happen when Institutional holders own 102% of the outstanding shares.
I’m thinking shorts are digging themselves a deeper hole.
If the institutional holders refuse to sell and are in TLRD for a potential double in a buyout offer from Sycamore Partners, then shorts are in for a rude awakening.
Currently shorts have sold almost 43% of the outstanding short. So many so, that not including private investors, but just institutional holders own almost 102% of the outstanding. There is only approximately 50.4 Million shares issued and outstanding. Institutional ownership has 51.3 Million. LOL.
Right now shorts have added over 21 Million shares to the market. They have to pay the dividend on those 21 million shares. That pay date is coming soon too.

TLRD, May get real exciting over the next couple weeks
Short squeeze may actually happen. Looks like it hit $5.70 after hours with some significant volume.
Was there like 700,000 shares of volume the last few minutes of trading?
Trading Nickels for Dimes.
Let the Short Squeeze Begin!
TLRD certainly has a significant short position in it that has drastically beaten down the value and made this a tremendously undervalued company. Comparing it to some other retailers sheds some light on this. While there are no direct comparisons, there are other similar retailers.
Company Name......Ticker...... Stock Price........EPS......... Forward PE
Tailored Brands........TLRD......$5.42.................$1.51...........3.05
Abrercrombie ...........ANF........$14.58...............$1.42.........10.09

If TLRD were valued even somewhat comparably, with a forward PE of around 9 TLRD should be an approximate $14.62 stock.
Squeeze Baby Squeeze
Not many opportunities come along that often to pick up something with $1.51 EPS and P/E ratio of 3.3 when their similar counterparts have P/E ratios of 9 and higher.
In a earlier post I made. To be comparable to their peers on average TLRD should be at around $13.70
Agreed..
TLRD appears to have a huge short position in it.
Prime candidate for a squeeze, with potential buyout offer on the table from Sycamore Partners at $10 a share.
Sycamore Partners also owns the name and intellectual property rights the “The Limited” branded stores that I find interesting.

Sycamore raised $4.5 Billion in investment capital last year, and they have yet to use it to purchase any of great significance.

$TLRD poised for big gains over next couple of weeks. Upcoming September Dividend, and they have received a $10 private equity buyout offer from Sycamore Partners.
Sycamore Partners has offered Tailored Brands $10.00 a share in a buyout and knuckle heads are selling for under $5.
This may be the most heavily shorted stock in the market, with over 60% of the outstanding being shorted.
I’m totally surprised it’s only you and I talking about it here on iHub. Completely under the radar.
This is so under the radar... no one is talking about.
TLRD has been hammered down by shorts. In fact the short position is huge at the moment. Somewhere I saw some 60% of the float has been shorted, potentially the most shorted stock in the market at the moment.
This has all the makings of a potential squeeze
Sycamore Partners offers $10 for TLRD currently $4.70
TLRD - Tailored Brands is the Parent company of Men's Warehouse and Jos A Banks Clothiers.

There is an enormous short position in TLRD right now too. LOL
No one really knows about it yet. LOL

Scotttrader,
Thanks for mentioning TLRD.....
It may be much bigger than just the upcoming $.18 divy in September.
Apparently TLRD has been approached for a potential private equity takeover at $10

Great call on TLRD. Not only a nice divy but it has been beaten down by shorts. Completely undervalued. Comparable valuation to their peers would have TLRD at $13.70
$TLRD - Squeeze those Shorts. This should be over $10
$TLRD comparison to some of it's competitor peers.
Tailored Brands appears to have been completely oversold, and is a candidate for a Short Squeeze.
A large portion of the Float is listed as being short.
In comparison to it's competitors, it is terribly undervalued, and shorts have taken it way to far.
If TLRD was valued comparably, we would be looking at a share price of $13.70. IMO

Nothing I heard on the Quarterly call warrants this 33% drop in value
There are lots of current and upcoming positive developments for SMLP. This market reaction is crazy.
I am thinking it is just overall market and sector.
Gut wrenching to watch my account value with these MLP's.
Distribution covered at 1.67 times with anticipated coverage growth to 1.75 - 1.95 for the remainder of the year.
New DJ Basin processing plant coming on line last quarter will add more EBITDA to bottom line.
Looking at non core assets to divest that will help with the Exxon partnership.
New rigs in their territories being added.
New CEO Heath Deneke from Crestwood starting in September! A ton of positives here.
Complete market over reaction on SMLP
That's an almost 10% return just on a Q Divy. Should get alot more than that on the runup to ex date though.
Dividend is certainly juicy.... It's almost nearing the area of 10% per quarter....
I'm wondering if the dividend is safe.... I didn't expect this much of a drop. From what I have looked at previously, it looked like it has always traded at about a 25-30% premium to NAV.
NAV over past couple of months has dropped significantly. Even more since i mentioned it here a few weeks ago.
Not sure what is causing it.... But geeze if it stabilizes and they continue paying... Wow.
SMLP - 15.33% yield quarterly div of $.2875. Current div covered at 1.7 times.
ex date 8/6/2019
rec date 8/7/2019
pay date 8/14/2019
Yes currently at $7.11.
I was meaning right before the last divy in May it was at $9.40. It seems to drop significantly immediately after each dividend.
The entire energy sector dropped significantly last December.
The last 2 NDP Divy's has seen it run from around $6 after December energy sector lows to around $10.50 before the February Dividend.
After February Dividend it dropped from $10.50 to around $7.70.
The May Dividend it went up from its around $7.70 low to around $9.40.
My thought was it might be good for around $1.00 or more of price appreciation running into next Divy also helped by oil's small bit of recovery too. Next Divy will be around 5-6 weeks away.
Seems NDP has somewhat of a similar chart as oil the past 7-8 months.

NDP (Tortoise Energy Independence Fund) may have reached its cyclical low after the last dividend.
Every Quarter since November 2012 it has paid $.4375
Based on past dates they declare at the first of the month. So next declaration will most likely be 1st Week in August, and then Pay Date Around 3rd Week in August.
They annouce and pay each of the following months.
February
May
August
November
Currently the forward yield at todays close is 24.6%
It has dropped from the high before the last Dividend in May of around $9.40
MORL and MRRL are paying a big month and dividend this month of $.50
Ex date is 7/12
