Hard to believe I actually made some $ on this one. I recall Bushnell had formed something like 20 companies, so it was a lock that he would go on to focus on something else and leave the company to the currents of the market place.
Anyone know what the ticker symbol is / will be for the warrants?
"On November 5, 2007, we entered into a Placement Agency Agreement with Merriman Curhan Ford & Co., as the lead placement agent, relating to the offering, issuance and sale to investors (the "Investors") of up to 5,500,000 units, each of which consists of one share of the our common stock, par value $0.001 per share (the "Common Stock"), and a warrant (the "Warrants") to purchase 1 share of Common Stock at an exercise price of $2.40 per share.
"The Warrants have a term of five years and are immediately exercisable. The Warrants are immediately separable from the units."
The how of somehow.....
x (# of times you would like to eat out at uWink in a week (single digit please))
2x (multiply by 2 just to be bold)
2x + 5 (adding 5)
100x + 250 (multiplying by 50)
100x + 2007 or 2006 (Add 1757 if birthday has happened this year, add 1756 if not)
100x + your age ( 2007 or 2006 - year born); pretty straight forward
100x moves x over two places, the rest is your age unless you are 100 or older!
So to make it work next year use 1758 or 1757, etc.
Report back regarding how the computers, if any, are set up in the patio seating area; how ordering takes place from this area.
Consecutive days of having lower or equal intra-day highs, going back from when UWNK peaked at 1.90 on Feb 15. Not something I follow on a regular basis, rather the pattern was pronounced on a one year chart with daily bars, leading me to look into it.
1.18 The long streak is over. I added a few hundred at 1.16.
OT - anyone else getting inundated with spam for CYTV? I've counted 30 emails in the last couple days, with the spam message embedded in an ugly camflouflaged graphic to stymie automated text recognition by spam filters, also each graphic is proportioned slightly differently in each email to avoid pattern matching and image size comparisons by spam filters, every "from" email address also different, to again avoid being picked up by spam filters, the .GIF graphic also has a different name each time - all of this very likely computer generated. The spam program is obviously defeating current machine counter-intelligence, with the stock up 60% in two days (never mind there is no revenue), so this will only empower the spammers to continue.
Currently 1.17, finally ending the consecutive streak of lower highs at 11 days in a row. Been more than a month since a higher high, just need one more penny.
As you have noted, the actual SEC documents show 30 cents as the purchase price. The date of the transaction was September 18, 2006. The closing price for that date was 1.12, so MSN / Money made the mistake of using the closing price of UWNK instead of the purchase price.
I wouldn't say holding steady! So far the intra-day high is 1.25, marking the 18th consecutive day of equal or lower intraday highs, a remarkably bad streak, most of the days with lower highs, currently the 8th day in a row. The only consolation is that many other tiny stocks are getting pounded too without news, perhaps we are approaching a capitulation point.
I see.... looks like that one got dumped too.
Yes, in the court of public opinion, absolutely! DNA lol. Good one.
The message is slyer than you think. In court he would say the "no" was in response to the "gone fishing" portion; the two parts are combined with an "and" and even the portion (the dumping side) was true the whole sentence was technically not.
But then he is the "Hustler", and sure did hustle!
The "I am still here" statement to me was a sly way of letting people think he still owned the stock, while really saying he is still checking the board without actually saying he owns the stock when responding to the "I think Hussler dumped his uwnk stock" message.
The bunch of "buy big blocks" "help a brutha" messages on the day the stock dropped from 1.8 to 1.6 tells the story.
Despite all this, he decision to dump has worked out, at least for now.
Today's uWink Power Point presentation
http://www.uwink.com/documents/20070306_presentation.ppt
In the first two paragraphs of your "the man has clearly said" message, the quotes starting with "our" and "We" are from the recent PR. The third one switches to "he" regarding the six restaurants. Where is that quote from? tia.
UWNK: Our monthly revenues have grown steadily....
$30,000 in October '06
$87,000 in November '06
$161,000 in December '06
$185,000 in January '07
Nice
While I haven't been active recently due to personal matters, I normally check in morning and evening and will continue to do so, so I'm willing to take Brian's place although I'm not "new" blood. BTW nice job w/ the info page.
How crowded was the place? tia
From the grand opening.
But is it cash flow positive, that's the question!
"Every week a new revenue record." Excellent. How recently did you find this out or get confirmation that this is still true? tia
Allatthetouch - how is uWink doing for weekday lunches and weekday evenings (excluding Friday).
I'm thinking about a return visit in late Feb or early March.
He may have gotten on board later, dunno. Looks like he compounded his gains via margin then bailed when the chart went seriously the other way. Works, but can be risky, takes careful money management, sticking to a system.
P K G is correct about VISX, because tragically I bought some in early 1998 but changed my mind for something else. Within a year and a half I know it went from around 40 to well over 100 with a couple 2/1 splits, the market cap going from around 600 million to around 6 billion by late 1999. Fortuneately a lot of other stuff was strong during that period too, but very few as strong.
The trick is to know when a turn is a turn as in "Wait for it to turn" instead of a big correction in an uptrend. What is your method if you are willing to share?
Nice find. Posting here in case it disappears.
UWink - a Restaurant That Puts YOU in Control!
Order from the Table, Play Games, and Hang Out with Friends
uWink is a revolutionary new dining experience in Woodland Hills, California. Founded by Nolan Bushnell, founder and former CEO of Atari and Chuck E. Cheese, uWink features a touch screen computer at every table. You order your food, just how you like it, and a runner brings it out to you.
Walking into uWink, one might think they had wandered into an adult lounge, or a dance club. The atmosphere is the ultimate in modern art, with white walls surrounding the room, upon which were projected all sorts of colorful computer graphics. Despite the adult bar/lounge feel, the restaurant is relatively kid-friendly, with all kinds of games and a decent kids menu. On the other hand, they do keep the atmosphere mostly adult by only allowing minors in before 8 p.m., unless accompanied by an adult.
The uWink concept is unique. Founded by Nolan Bushnell, founder and former CEO of Atari and Chuck E. Cheese, uWink features a touch screen computer at every table. You order your food, just how you like it, and a runner brings it out to you. While traditional restaurants give you a paper menu and have a waiter take your order, at uWink the menu is all on the screen. Complete with tempting photos of almost everything on the menu, you have the power to hold the mayo on your sandwich, or add extra cheese to your burger, or change the sauce on your pizza, all from the touch-screen on your table.
Although we were at first a bit confused with the scan-card used to order, once we figured it out, my husband and I were pleasantly surprised with how quickly our drinks arrived at our table. We had barely pressed the "root beer" button when a runner appeared at our table with a full glass. We did not order anything from the bar, however, we did peruse the cocktail menu and were very impressed with the selection and the pricing.
While we waited for our meals, we enjoyed exploring the various entertainment options on the screen. One section allowed you to get a panoramic view of several places across the globe (we especially enjoyed Hawaii and Rome). Then we found the "Expert" game, and amused ourselves with various trivia questions for the rest of our wait.
We wondered how the food would taste. I mean, sure it's a cool place, but is the atmosphere and entertainment the highlight of the restaurant? The food arrived very quickly (probably too quickly, since we were having so much fun with the trivia game), and we discovered that it was high quality and delicious, especially for the price. Most entrees ranged around $8 - $15.
Although it was a fun evening, I would not recommend uWink as a good place for dates. It isn't exactly a romantic atmosphere, especially since the music is too loud for a really intimate conversation. They also have very few tables that are really good for a couple. The dining room is fairly small, and most tables are set up for parties of six or more. We ended up sandwiched right next to a family of four, practically sitting with them, which was a bit awkward. I highly recommend uWink for large groups, especially since the scan-card system makes splitting the bill a piece of cake! Plus, since there are no waiters, there is no pressure to hurry up and order, so it is a great place to just hang out, order drinks and appetizers, and meals if and when you want them.
At this point, the only uWink is located in Woodland Hills, California, but this location is to be the model for future franchises. According to the website, uWink is "currently able to offer franchises in 29 States and territories (AL, AK, AZ, AR, CO, DE, DC, FL, ID, IA, KS, MA, MS, MO, MT, NV, NH, NJ, NM, OH, OK, OR, PA, TN, VT, WV, WY, Puerto Rico, US Virgin Islands and other US Territories and Possessions)." If you are interested in franchise opportunities, please contact Nancy Nino at uWink for more information: 818-909-6030 x 102 or nancyn@uwink.com
If you compare the Names of Beneficial Owners and shares owned from the 10KSB for the year ended December 2005, and the latest quarter's 10QSB we see
Nolan Bushnell going from 1,957,490 shares to 2,760,582 shares
Paul Dumais (new) with 552,223 shares
John Kaufman (new) with 194,866 shares
Bruce Kelley from 130,000 shares to zero shares
Keven McLeod from 1,027,713 shares to 1,274,936 shares
Bradley Rotter from 16,667 shares to 1,115,711 shares
Tallac Corp. (controlled by John Lee) from 2,634,100 to 2,500,001 shares
Peter Wilkness from 244,444 shares to 477,778 shares
SO - while Bruce liquidated as a beneficial owner there are some much more massive increases in the record and bigger initial positions in the meantime. The other Bruce transation was indirect as Raw noted.
Apparently just with the last few days, a bunch of OTCBB stocks that I checked all have boards now with no messages more than a few days old. Pink Sheet stocks still in limbo.
I do not like that suggestion. When a restaurant is open, all of the items on the menu should be orderable. When a restaurant closes, the door is locked to entry and those inside continue eating until done. Almost all restaurants work this way. To start deactivating items before closing will cause confusion and resentment for some customers.
New uWink videos
A day in the life of some teens with a brief stop at uWink on stage (some f words)
Just called them up, they are open 'til midnight. What time were you there?
Cheif (sp) Financial Officer
Fantastic report, thank you. It is nice that the place was full by dinner time; seems like the place is cool enough even without the inter-table games.
Ruby owns around 73% of their restaurants (658 out of 904 as of 9/5/06)
Applebees owns around 27% of their restaurants (486 out of 1804 as of 12/25/05)
No idea regarding question 2.
You'd barely recognize the place now. A massive number of condo towers have gone up and there are still many cranes and concrete trucks just a few blocks south and east. OT XING hot today.
Actually it is the "Gaslamp Quarter" - very hot at night, but somewhat lackluster during the day - very different than a mall environment. http://www.gaslamp.org/gaslampafterdark.php
Have you contacted uWink about their grammar?
Check out this photo: uWink now has some nice banners outside their restaurant replacing that cheesy temporary "now open" one they use to have.

Beat me to it. Description says picture taken December 1 to answer Sagar's question, not the day of the grand opening, but was a Friday night.
