I think this will be Christian Yelich's big year. If he stays healthy I see him hitting .320 with about 25 Homers. Just a prediction I guess without getting into all my thoughts. The Marlins should have a good year too and could go into the playoffs.
Why in the world would the Cubs go after Fowler with an already crouded outfield? They need one more good starter in my opinion. They should do all they can to go after Sonny Gray of the A's. Maybe the Cubs are looking to do some more trades before the start of the season. Shwarber to catcher?
If the Pats go into the Super Bowl will Brady be there or suspended? I think a court decision is in a couple of weeks?
Pete Rose elected to Reds HOF
Baseball's all-time hits leader to join club's Hall of Fame June 24-26
I think Yelich has the stuff to be a future Hall of Famer, so you may be right but they could have at least tried. They could have went after Joc Pederson from the Dodgers too. I think the Dodgers are frustrated with him at the moment anyway with all his strike outs. He just needs a good hitting coach to work with him in my opinion. I don't think throwing huge amounts of money for one player will make the club any better. (Lester)
The Cubs should have went after Christian Yelich and saved a whole lot of money. Yelich hit .300 this year and has power. If he played half of his games at Wrigley he would probably hit 30+ homers a year. He is also a gold glove too. The Marlins would have wanted a decent player with a few good prospects but it would have been worth it in my opinion. Oh well, as long as they get into the World Series I'll be happy.
Report: Cubs, Yanks talk Starlin-Gardner swap
Really? Trade Castro for a good pitcher. We need pitching, people!
Well, it's been a great baseball season. It will be interesting to see the all the off-season trades. I know the Cubs will go all out for 2016 after this great 2015 season, I expect the Cubs to pick up great pitchers. They will have to do something about the CF, SS, 2nd and C positions too, and I would like to see them trade Castro for Cristian Yelich and a pitcher Kolech(ha) that won't happen but I will dream this Winter. Congrats to the KC Fans.
I hear what you're saying but one day some ump will screw it up big time and it will be a big game that will be lost because of him. I'm a traditionalist but I would hate it if an ump called one of the Cubs out on strikes with bases loaded and 2 outs in the 9th of the final game of the World Series and the ball was way out of the strike zone. I know you can't review balls and strikes but maybe the World Series could be an exception. I don't pretend to have a solution but sometimes you just got to wonder why sometimes an ump is calling high balls for one team and not the other even though it very rarely happens.
Take a chill pill. I was just thinking out loud, so no need to get all extreme. :)
Maybe one day Umpires will no longer call balls and strikes. I have seen to many games where bad calls have basically decided who won or lost that game, deliberate or not.
I can think of 50 other players I would start a franchise first with. I like seeing Rose behind the desk, maybe he and Frank Thomas can take their act on the road. It's like watching Abbott & Costello except toned down.
Maybe we need a guy named Murphy in next year's team. Alas, he'll probably blow it some how and the Cubs end up losing the World Series because of him. That is if they get that far in the post season.
I'm not going to say that the Cubs would have had a big rally to come back and tie it in the 9th but the last pitch of the game was way too high and should have been a walk in my opinion. That's life I guess.
I'm not saying the Mets aren't a better team than the Cubs right now but this whole post season and even prior have seen half the bats go almost silent. The Mets are good but I think the Cubs would have won one or two if some of the batters weren't in such a slump. My hats off to the Mets though.
The Mets are lucky that half the Cubs have been in a hitting slump. Cubs pitching and mistakes are also taking its toll. We need pitching for 2016 and beyond.
Cubs win the next 3 games. I think Baez will be blasting a few into the stands. Just a wishful prediction.
Theo would be in the Hall of Fame If the Cubs win the World Series this year or next. Other than being a young club and making some mistakes, pitching is the only thing they need to work on for 2016. I would love to see them get one more starter like a Sonny Gray and 2 more quality relief pitchers. The cathers position needs work too, so maybe Shwarber will take over with the veteran Ross. One last thing, if they keep up with their farm teams I see the Cubs being in the post season for years to come.
Another kid to keep an eye on is Bobby Bradley. I wish the Cubs would trade for this 19 year old.
How about those Cubs? I thought they would win around 110 games this year but I'll take 97. They did lose many games because they couldn't keep their leads in the last couple of innings. Anyway, I think they can win 110 next year if they can get a couple of more good pitchers. I also think the Cubs could go into the World Series this year but I'm not sure they will win it all though.
Cubs: Kyle Schwarber went 4 for 5 with two RBIs in first career start.
The Cubs sure know how to pick them. They still have many more waiting for their turn as well like Billy McKinney, Arismendy Alcantara, Dan Vogeback and many others. It's finally good to be a Cubs fan esp. after last night's win. Now if they can get a couple of more tuff pitchers... I wonder if they can trade Castro and a prospect for Sonny Gray? haha
Go Cubs!
If found guilty I see a big fat asterisk next to the 2015 Cardinals Season, cheating is cheating. They may have to give up future prospects too but I don't think baseball will want to tick off the Cardinals fans or players by taking them out of the playoffs.
Cubs hot Rookie Schwarber to be called up soon?
http://hardballtalk.nbcsports.com/2015/05/18/is-it-time-the-cubs-think-about-kyle-schwarber-in-left-field/
I hope Singleton doesn't choke like last season. I always believed he could be a big power hitter with a decent batting average. I see him hitting 40+ a year if he can put it all together.

Go Cubs!
The Cubs better hurry up and start going after some new pitchers. They can bring the offense but their defense just stinks. Pitching and fielding once again needs work, so if they want to think about playoffs they need to get back basic training. They seem to have fun off the field but they still lack motivation. Time to bring in Anthony Robbins?
Just one man's opinion and it aint worth much lol
Go Cubs
Castro has that problem and I'm surprised the Cubs haven't traded him for another all-star because of it. He is hitting very well and that is what is keeping him liked by fans, so all will be forgiven. I wish we could have traded for Joc Pederson last year like I had hoped, now his stock has tripled this year.
I think Arod has a good chance of beating Ruth's HR record if he can stay healthy. He'll probably be around 42 if he does break it. Last year sure hurt his chances though. He won't have a chance at Aaron's record in my opinion.
MLB News: Chicago Cubs Talking With Philadelphia Phillies For Possible Cole Hamels Trade
Looks like the Cubs are going to go for it this year!
http://au.ibtimes.com/mlb-news-chicago-cubs-talking-philadelphia-phillies-possible-cole-hamels-trade-1445089
Go Cubs!
I think Cooperstown will have a place waiting for him if he does.
Nice article. I think the cubs, like I said before, could go deep into the playoffs this year. If they stay healthy, and all the pistons are firing, they have a 33% chance of going into the World Series. I would like to see them go after another good/great starter and one more middle reliever because pitching will be key from here on out. I hope Baez will come back and be the batter he can potentially be.
Go Cubs!
http://hardballtalk.nbcsports.com/2015/04/23/kris-bryant-is-starting-in-center-field-for-the-cubs/?ocid=Yahoo&partner=ya5nbcs
I know bryant is just a rookie but I also think he is the best player on the team, so don't go messing with this guy's brain with too many moves, Cubs. Plant the guy in a position and let him grow I mean he's batting over .400 for Larry's sake!
Go Cubs!
"Manfred: Rose will be allowed to be part of All-Star Game"
http://sports.yahoo.com/news/manfred-rose-allowed-participate-star-game-162300205--mlb.html
Sounds like baseball might be trying to get Rose back in slowly. I think the whole betting on baseball rule is too stern because of the White Sox scandel. Now betting against your own team is a big no no of course. As far as I know Rose never bet against his team. I see MLB softening the rule and as a result letting Rose back in.
I agree. Also Cabs fans are so tired of the waiting game, so if the Cubs miss the playoffs by a few games this year you know they will blame Epstein for not playing Bryant opening day on. He has to play him, Bryant deserves it. But you know he'll wait so he can get that extra year.
"Reinstate Pete Rose if you will, MLB. But you really don’t have to."

Ten MLB prospects most likely to make an impact in 2015:
http://www.yardbarker.com/mlb/articles/10_mlb_prospects_most_likely_to_make_an_impact_in_2015/18255995
Will Obama & Castro open the Cuban borders and let baseball players come to America next year? I wonder how owners will handle that influx of great talent? Many current players could find themselves back in the Minors over a couple of years time. I mean you might even find a few million-dollar players playing in the Minors just to make room for 4 or 5 new rookies per team. I could be blowing this out of proportion but could be an issue soon.
Once again I agree with you in pretty much everything but I still think the Cubs will be better than what most people think. As far as Joc Pederson I hope your 100% right because I invested a lot in him. I think Christian Yelich could be a big surprise this year batting well over .300. I think he has the feel for the Majors and will get started off with a bang in 2015. He was hot towards the end of 2014 and could have batted .300 easy if he had another 12 games in my opinion.
As someone said here every team is in first place during Spring, so who knows how the Cubs will do but I'm ready for this Season to get started and hopefully enjoy a winning year for the Cubs.
I see the Marlins and Padres being tough teams to beat but I still like the Cub's odds and I'm not just saying that since I'm a fan of theirs. I haven't felt this way about the Cubs since 1984 and there have been good chances since but I think this could be the year they go into the World Series. I think the Giants and Dodgers won't be the same this year. So without going into great detail I still think the Cubs win 100 with Shields and if they stay healthy. Only three concerns I have are the closer, Baez and who will play SS for the Cubs. Oh and if Bryant starts opening day and lives up to the hype, so four.
Joe Maddon says Cubs still interested in a 'prize' — James Shields
My bold Cubs prediction for 2015...
If the Cubs do get James Shields I think they will win over 100 games if everyone stays healthy. I had a feeling they would go after one more big name pitcher before the start of Spring Training. I still think they will trade Castro for another very good pitcher as well. If they keep Castro that's good too but I see him as an ace for the Cubs when it comes to trading. Baez has got to perform this season and Bryant needs to come up and get some time in so he can be up to speed by the All-Star break.
