I appreciate the depth and critical thinking that went into your response. <G>
Good luck, Buff. I hope you eventually make some money on this one. We'll both be happy.
Pat
We all share the goal of making money on our investments and we all have multiple tools and strategies available to us to aid in that pursuit. I'm not sure I understand the wisdom of dismissing one of those effective tools. But we all should do what doesn't upset our comfort level.
Pat
Don't forget that flippers are also the ones who often restrain downtrends by BUYING when the stock is hitting relative lows. Flippers can be a long term investor's friend when they need a friend the most. Be careful of wishing them ill! <G>
Pat
Did you forget to put a decimal point in front of those estimates?
Pat
Clearly, it would depend on the terms. It would be nice to see a new face in the mix but if it winds up being DMRJ, at least IMSC will continue to have a money source as potentially painful as it might be.
Pat
I'm guessing that the selling has diminished for the moment because we are in final discussions with renewing our financial arrangements with DMRJ. Just a guess ....
Pat
Don't include me as a "holder of the fort". I'm not a believer.
Pat
..........it!!!
Pat
I just recall similar empty language and optimism on this play in the past. Don't misunderstand me .... it can be a good play if you're early in and early out and enough new players can be brought in. Money can be made as long as you're not the last one to sell. Just don't get greedy. When it gets abandoned and the "cheerleaders" move on, you'll have to wait for the next iteration to unload.
In the meantime, WEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!! "The sky is the limit!" "To the moon!" etc, etc.
Pat
Let's just say I'm enjoying the show. It's entertaining.
Pat
Right. No need to state the obvious. We all know that no volume is a good thing. WEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!! <G>
Pat
WEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!
Pat
Great phrase but not enough emphasis. You have to change the font to "bold" and use CAPS. Once you get that down, you can add the "WEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE" ...... but not before you master the other things mentioned. Keep up the good work.
Pat
Agreed. I don't believe selling the company was ever in the cards.
Pat
You're using CAPS at least. That's usually a requisite for a good post. Now you have to start adding the "WEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE" at the end of the posting. Later you can add a bunch of exclamation points. That's usually effective ....
Pat
Surely one of the high rollers on this board could pop for the $1,650 it would take to cover those 55,0000 shares.
Just think, if it got over .03 per share, everyone could start adding "WEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE" after their posts!
The excitement just doesn't seem to be as high as it was last January during the annual NEIK festival.
Pat
Well said, Jmonty45. Your observation is spot on.
Pat
Thanks. I appreciate the clarification.
Pat
Bob Patterson is the guy you contacted? Or did someone in the office just provide a link to their temporary website? Thanks in advance, FUBAR.
Pat
Could you post their email for us? Thanks.
Pat
Hmmm .... Did I hit a nerve with missing post 4500? <G>
Carry on, boys.
Pat
Yep. They're a company of the future for sure ..... and likely always will be! <G>
By all means, play the swings with this one. Just make sure your timing is right. That's all I'm saying. Good luck.
Pat
More of what I referenced in a previous post. Thanks for the backup, WarChest.
See how they word their releases ....
"currently working on a potential arrangement" .... they don't reference HAVING an agreement.
"working to secure licence/distributor agreements" .... they don't reference HAVING license/distributor agreements.
"we are currently working towards completing financial and contractual arrangements" ..... they don't reference HAVING financial and contractual arrangements.
"should add considerably to our potential sales" .... they don't reference HAVING actual sales.
"planning flight demonstrations" .... they don't reference actually having DONE any flight demonstrations.
.... and on and on.
Just about every paragraph in this release is talking about "plans" and "potential". No actual accomplishments.
These releases are skillfully and very carefully written. I'm guessing the quick profits have been taken in this round already. Of course, I could be wrong. Maybe there's some left before it retreats.
Pat
"You have been CEO of Imsc for the past year. The stock prices has CRATERED under your leadership. Embarrassingly so. Would you honestly ho to an INVESTOR conference on Monday with the sole purpose to attract investors and capital?! Showcase ROI?"
And yet there are still some who cling to the idea that the timing is right for management to be spending money on a campaign to promote the company in an attempt to get new investors to bolster the share price.
Sometimes the business advice to management from this forum is just too comical.
Wait for it ..... some will now counter with "had management promoted earlier, the price would never have fallen like it has."
If management would have promoted earlier, would their debt/capital structure (which many acknowledge to be the millstone around the company's neck) be any different today?
Pat
Does the gist of the press release seem familiar to anyone?
I've noticed that they say things like "has been working towards an agreement with an aerospace company". They never say that they HAVE an agreement with an aerospace company.
I've also noticed that they say that they are "continuing our market research and planning new sales strategies to generate orders". They never say they HAVE orders.
They also mention that "work is progressing on Northstar’s intent to become current with its SEC reporting". They never say that they ARE current with its SEC reporting.
Doesn't this seem to be a fairly routine release once or twice every couple of years or so? Has most of the run based on this "optimistic" release already run its course? Does anyone think that if you weren't already "in" at a half cent per share, you've likely missed profits from this go-round?
Check out some of their past releases and the price action shortly thereafter. There's a chance to make some money here if your timing is right. If your timing isn't right, just hold and wait for the next iteration.
Good luck to all.
Pat
Probably just a hiccup. Only a couple of thousand dollars worth traded today, if that.
Pat
".... when the short-term buying and selling is preceded by specific comments designed to manipulate people's decision making, it is wrong."
Do you really read comments posted by anyone on this thread that are sufficiently persuasive to be directly attributable to others making investment decisions large enough to account for short term price swings?
Pat
This is becoming almost comical. Like so many other stocks of this ilk, it all boils down to recognizing whether you want to be an "investor" or a "gambler". In case people haven't yet noticed, there has been a way to make money off of IMSC for several years. The "gamblers" misguidedly hold "investors" in contempt with constant references to "manipulation" while some choose to displace their financial misfortune on poor management.
This company has been and can continue to be an ATM to those who aren't wed to buying and holding. There is absolutely nothing immoral or manipulative about flipping shares for base hits vs. buying and waiting for the ball to fly out of the park. For those afraid of missing the homerun, play it both ways. Have a core position and have a trading position. This is not rocket science. Based on the emotional commentary going on, it's certainly not difficult to identify those who are gamblers and those who are investors.
Pat
Great content on this forum. Nice work, folks.
Pat
Probably people just cleaning the trash out of their investment closet at year's end.
Pat
"I think we should wait till re fi before any attempt at media. We wouldn't want to squander good press opportunities with all the toxic overhang."
I agree 100%.
Pat
"Why wouldn't someone with deep pockets want to buy them given their newly stamped position in this industry?"
I'm not saying that there might not be one or more companies interested in buying IMSC. I'm speculating that IMSC is not an interested seller at this point. I think they're only interested in finding a new lender at this point to get out from under their current terms.
Pat
I don't think a sale is in our future. I think IMSC recognized that after months of looking for financing on their own, they discovered that it was going to be more difficult than they thought given their current financial position. I believe that IMSC knows the market better than most and their position in that market, and realizes that there is great potential for them if a new lender with more favorable arrangements can be found. They've now turned it over to professionals to find that path. Hopefully, they will have given sufficient time for these pros to find a way before March. If not, I see them renewing with DMRJ. No one knows ..... not even the shadow. <G>
Pat
It's also possible that buried in today's news is the admission that they have been unable to secure alternate financing through their own efforts so they were left with no choice but to hire professional help. As long as we're speculating .... <G>
Buff, did you try calling them to find out if TSA showed? Seems like that might be an easy way to satisfy your curiosity.
Pat
It's already baked into the price of gold. Few Fed followers really believe the Fed is going to raise rates with the fragile state of the world economy. The Chicago chairman was probably given the "all clear" to provide the "public leak" of what the majority of the Fed has always believed behind closed doors.
Pat
Chicago Fed leader said he was changing his mind on the wisdom of raising rates at this time. Maybe that's the catalyst.
Pat
Agreed. Let's hope for the best.
Pat
"The SP would continue to grind downward, interest would diminish and any PARTNER would think very adverse to taking a position in our stock."
That's why I mentioned that a partner would be able to dictate some very favorable terms for themselves.
Pat
"Prolly hear something about dmrj loaning implant 20M on .02 convertibles in early March."
I don't know if you're saying that in jest or not but it would be my guess that DMRJ WILL be our "renewed" source of funding come March much to everyone's disappointment. I would hope that the rate might come down a point or two but all other conditions will probably remain unchanged. I suppose I wouldn't dismiss the possibility that DMRJ might even kick the rate up a tick but I hope not. DMRJ is not in this to make friends. They're in it to make money. I don't think it will be as easy to get refi as everyone makes it out to be though I'm not questioning that management is trying to find a better deal.
I definitely don't look for IMSC to sell the company but I'm guessing that scenario would be more likely than a new lender in March. Some type of partnership would be a happy compromise but the partner sure would be able to dictate some pretty favorable terms for themselves.
Pat
Zero chance of rates being raised. Place your bets.
