Patent Litigation Update 2024
By:
Robert Van Arnam & Rick Matthews
While the number of filed patent cases is down, it is still the most prevalent type of IP claim. In 2023, there were 3,111 patent cases filed, following a downward trend since 2021, with the Western District of Texas still the most active district, although the number of cases in that court have dropped significantly.1 At the PTAB, the number of petitions filed in 2023 decreased, but with a slight increase (from 51% to 54%) in instituted trials.2
Of course, the vast majority of patent infringement actions (~97%) are settled. But when cases are tried, plaintiffs tend to win. Likely due to the high clear and convincing standard to invalidate a patent and the presumption of validity that is attached to patents, patent holders prevail more often than not in infringement actions. For example, over the last several years it has been reported that the trial success rates of patent holders are 52% with bench trials and 74% with juries.3
IPRs 36-0
Re-examination 1-0 and added 8 more claims
VP has requested a trial with jury.

Started a long, long time ago....TOTALLY WRONG ON THOSE @ BOTTOM, WEREN'T YOU? VPLM uplisted to OTC QB long ago...fully audited and...
Stipulated dismissals vs aapl/t. Deals with amzn/huawei in the past year, patents in four continents, IPR wins, yet you call VPLM a scam...you are wrong again!
If VPLM is such an easy to spot scam, why would amzn/huawei make deals? Why can't vz/tmus/amzn shake/crush VPLM? WHY ISN'T VPLM AT NEW LOWZ? Who is buying all these shares trading, on average about $45k/day over the past month?
Maybe time for a new "hobby"? Hey, maybe you could get a chair, park yourself on a sidewalk and guess which cars are exceeding the speed limit?
Not even getting into your claims of me being Rich, being Emil and a few others....believe me the fun is about to start...

"BELLEVUE, Wash., May 29, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Voip-Pal.Com Inc. ("Voip-Pal" or "the Company") (OTC Pink sheets: VPLM) is proud to announce its intent to become fully reporting with the SEC."
Along with every other Pink Sheet scam we've ever seen.
If I had a dolar for every scam like VPLM that made an announcement about "uplisting" I'd have a few hundred dollars. If you then took away a dollar for every one that actually did uplist, I'd have one less dollar.
Purely and simply, this is an announcement designed to hold the pps so that insiders can continue to dump their shares into it.

"Anyone in the know should know it costs big money to go through this listing procedure which should tell you the seriousness of this company and where they are headed."
It doesn't cost anything to put out a PR saying you're going to do this however.
Which is why just about every stock scam like VPLM announces they're going to uplist, but virtually none of them ever do.

Newbies? I have seen no newbies.
There have only been those making excuses and those pointing out how silly the excuses are....well, and there's you....if you got paid by the word, you'd have made a fortune already.
You may be one of the only posters I've ever seen on IHUB that annoy both basher and pumper alike.

You ask to post any benefit of not losing an IPR, read below and these gentlemen that wrote this added their names to the article. Hmmmmm do you?
Of course, the vast majority of patent infringement actions (~97%) are settled. But when cases are tried, plaintiffs tend to win. I believe VPs filing show their case is a jury trial not a bench like the corrupt one! That is 74 pct WOW.
Look how NYTWIT brings up the IPR info only, that’s its MO always skirting around the important issues. 97 pct settlement rate, Patent holders 74 pct victorious in trial with a Jury. Those seemed much more important than IPRs. It does have an evil imagination, too bad it doesn’t use it for good!
Add your real name to your post like these guys did in the blog and maybe someone will believe you. I’m only sharing a lawyers blog while your posts are your opinion. (Opinion of Lies)
Please don’t reply to me unless you use 140 characters or less. TIA
You’re wrong again it was a Blog dedicated to patents. And those statistics are pretty simple. Won or Lost/ Denied or Instituted/ this isn’t like one of your posts were you never give VP the benefit of your doubts. Your posts are all inaccurate, you claim you know it all, but that is were you are wrong. And when VP wins you lose big cause you spent all of this negative energy in trying to take down innocent people with no criminal history. And hurt many investors with your lies. You are a nuisance to this board, everyone ghosts you when you start up a conversation. Why don’t you leave so we don’t have to read anymore of your lies.
I know I posted this a week ago but I wanted to share this so people can really understand what it takes to go 36-0 at Ptab.

So by these stats VP should’ve had 18 of those IPRs instituted! The bashers can’t explain this undefeated at the PTAB and undefeated at the USPTO. The employees that are selling their shares could be their salary. People here on this board claim that if it wasn’t for the wife we wouldn’t have this chance in Waco, so I’ll wait for a licensing or trial for the big pop. Jury Awards $122M in Advertising Patent Case Following Testimony of Quandary Peak Experts

LOS ANGELES, June 17, 2024 /PRNewswire/ -- A week-long patent trial in Waco, Texas, concluded on Friday with a jury verdict against Amazon and an award of $122 million in damages. Two software experts affiliated with Quandary Peak Research, Dr. Eric Koskinen and Jason Frankovitz, testified during the trial. Koskinen and Frankovitz were retained on behalf of the plaintiff, an advertising technology company.
2 1/2 weeks left for pre trial date.
Do you lie often and you can’t keep up with them, this was posted YESTERDAY.
In case you forgot your exact words...
I'm not trying to save anyone, least of all a sadsack like yourself. Most idiots who fall for obvious scams like VPLM are beyind help, anyway. I just enjoy studying scams and occasionally helping the Feds bring the criminals behind them to justice. 2014 was a particularly good year for me in that respect.
Don't forget to take out a second mortgage to back up the truck for more VPLM shares. We can check back next year same time to see how that went, assuming your PC hasn't been re-possessed.
Sunspotter is a liar and exaggerated, no credibility on this board
The reason I pose the question like that is that some insiders were selling without reporting their sales for literally years. For all we know they may still be doing so.
Great post, I’m sure sun has 2 other accounts on this board and we all know who they are.
The Dispensary must be rolling with “High” revs. What ever happened to that weed beverage that was to be sold in all SnL The name was Kavla or something like that

This clown bashes Judge Albright cause he runs his court based on the constitution , property is property. Based on his posts Sunspots calls VP’s management criminals even though they have no criminal record that I can find. This clown should have no rights since he doesn’t allow other American citizens theirs. After 12 years it shows he’s as useful as a poop flavored lollipop. Great job Inspector Clouseau! LMAO
Did anyone notice how NYTWIT chimes in with a book reply even though the fool is not mentioned in your post, NYTWIT hits himself with his own Monkey wrenches.

This is called “piling it on” knowing these two defendants are stuck in Waco. Would this be considered Check Mate?
..........has, instead of gone up, as it should and would, if the patents were really all that, gone waaaay down from over $17 million to $5 million...
I got no problem if she cashed her check (they don’t get paid in cash) and bought more stock with her pay. Actually I’m glad to see she reinvested in VPLM, that shows confidence in the company, she is the CFO.
Company's continued inability to undertake certain corporate actions (name and symbol change, M&A, Reverse Split etc.) due to uncorrectable regulatory filing deficiencies from over a decade ago has remained a significant and overwhelming ongoing challenge to the Company.
Companies in similar situations generally become insolvent and have no choice but to file for bankruptcy. However, the Company is doing everything to avert this outcome.
How’s the deep brain implant going?
